Background, Tech Descriptions, and Rules-

Backgound-

This takes place in a far away solarsystem, completley devoid of outside contact. There is a gas giant, the fourth planet, which has multiple satilites. Two of these satilites contain life. They have recently made contact with eachother after being isolated for hundreds of thousands of years. They made contact in local year 2345 on a primitive radio. The first vessel was sent from the satilite orbiting the northern pole, Varaxia. It arrived 14 days later on the southern planet, Dertinus to a warm welcome. Within 23 years there was a major breakdown in communications due to the fact that the planets' politics were polar oposites. In 2369, war was declared by Dertinus. The fight is just begining...

Tech Descriptions-

The tech is based on WW2 however several contemporary style improvments have been made.

Space Vehicles-

A. Launch Systems

Space travel is achieved in a two step procedure. A lighter than air vessle carries the desired space craft into the top levels of the atmosphere where it detaches and rises into space where it can proceed to the desired point in space.

B. Space Vehicles

Space vehicles are usually cylindrical in shape and are made from iron and steel. The resemble WW2 submarines, however they can be much, much, larger, and have alot of the same components except for the fact that they have rocket motors instead of deisel electric propulsion. They have torpedo like rockets which have no homing ability.

C. Combat and weapons

Space weapons are not much different than ground weapons except they have oxygen tanks on them. Some weapons use normal sized ammo which has self contained O2. These are usually large caliber weapons used for anti-ship ops.

Combat used to be much rarer, however the establishment of the most efficient routes between satilites has lead to a much higher concentration of activity in certain areas. Spaceships generally try to predict the paths of the other craft due to the lack of homing technology. Tube powered computers are the only form of predicting enemies movements. If people need to perform EVA, they use brass helmeted suits.

Weapons-

A. Guns

The standard weapons on both sides are semi automatic weapons, full auto assualt weapons are not predicted to become prectical to be standardized for another 5 years. These weapons are comprable to M-1 Garands. Both armies have machine, and sub-machine guns and assult rifles.

B. Grenades

Grenades are common and issued to all troops.

C. Heavy weapons

The heaviest weapons are the very large bombs. There are no programs in development to create any type of nuclear device. They have napalm.

The RP Starts today at 9:00pm eastern standard time, please have your ships posted. I allow you to have a standing army without RP'ing it into exsistance, but any ship not poseted after 9:00 will need to be RP'd into exsistance.

When we have all of our fleets posted, we will choose sides and the RP woll begin.

basically i have alot of MT stuff so jesusvania is just letting me retrofit everything XM-8 Battle Rifles to Thompson and M-16 to M1 Garand etc.

1.5 million Infantry armed with the following and broken up accordingly:

Regiment: 5,000 (five in each Divison)

The 91 men left are broken down into 60 riflemen (just carring the above weaponry) Than those 31 are left 2 motars and 2 more to carry the motar shells, 10 more have the Super High Power 43' Gewr, as for the remaining 17 men in company, they have the panzerfiest and can fill in other positions when people get killed ie: machine Gunner. Each Sqaud has 4-10 Tiger Tanks at its disposal (depending on how many are already on the battlefield) they also have 10 25 LB howiters and can call of figher and bomber support when ever (as long as planes are within range)

OCC: IT starts... now

Captian Richards gazed out his periscope into the black abyss. The ship was a clatter with operation. The operators swarmed over the passive radar for any signs of another ship. They had been at this for three days now, keeping watch in the orbitals over the moon. Richards pulled his eyes away from the lenses to see his first mate floating the newest readouts in front of his face.

"Very good Jimmy" he said, "see if you can get me a telemetry update from ground while we are still within conversation range." And with that he pushed off towards the computer station. When he looked back in his periscope he noticed a faint glimmer from the gas giant below him. He took another look and it was still there. Richards knew that this could be a vital decision for him, he must act.

"Bow thrusters down 57 degrees! Streeing to port 2 and 7 clicks! 12 second burn on main engines on my mark!" He looked through the periscope to find the glimmer in his trajectory. "Mr. Collins, report or telemtry to ground. Mark!"

The liquid hydroxide poured into the engine bells creating a column of falme which shot the ship forward. Richards desperatly tried to keep his eyes on the periscope however the force of intertia was too strong and he was flung against his chair. Those 12 seconds seemed like an eternity.

When the engines shut off the ship had shifted orbit in a way that that sent it straight for the gas giant. Captian Richards settled into his larange at the periscope and began to watch.
