The Arrival of the Corprate Alliance (Intro Rp, FT)

Corprate Alliance
14-12-2004, 21:58
The Toghori walked up to the bridge of the Imperator Class Dreadnaught (Stats will come later). He was one of the most feared species in the galaxy, but he alone was terrified. He was now approaching the leader of the Corprate Alliance, General Grievous. The half man/machine was terrifying to say the least. He was also carrying depressing news. The galaxy had changed since the clone wars, and not of their benifiet. There were many factions now battling for control of the galaxy.

"General Grievous?" The Toghori asked

"What is it Officer, Markashantan?" the monster hissed mechanicly.

"I bring troubling news"

"Speak quickly or I will grow angry"

"Yes General" and the toghorian laid out his report to the General.

"Interesting at best, Have the fleet be ready we will join the fighting factions for control of the galaxy." Grievous said, as if thinking hard about something.

"Sir is that wise?" the Toghori instantly regretted the words that came out of his mouth. As if Grievous had mind commanded his assasin, Asajj Ventress came out from the shadows and grabbed his neck with the force and the Toghori fell to the floor dead.

The fleet of modified Clone Wars ships came out of hyperspace jumping into action.....

The fleet of Tandu ships around the fifth planet spun around with agility that belied their size.
"Approaching ships, be warned that you are within the space of the Tandu Empire, if you do not turn around we will fire. This is your first and last warning."
As if to prove the point one of the ships fired a low-powered psi-blast, the wave of mind-numbing psychic energy would throw any humanoid it came into contact with into a state of extreme confusion for some time.

OOC: If it's too late to join this, then sorry! Ignore this post.

IC:

A two A'lshed fighters were on a stealth recon. The sudden psychic burst from the Tandu ships caught them as they were traveling while in cloak. The sudden psychic shock sent the Keloon fighters realling.

"Da'shev!" the first piolet said, gripping his head inside of his Coccon Chamber, "What was that!?"
"I don't know, Dalkav," the other piolet said, he too gripping his head.
"We must balance the mind, brother Aurale!" Dalkav said, concentrating.
"We must!" Aurale replied, his eyes squinting behind his Enironmental HUD unit.

They recited their mind-exercises.

What is the mind? - It is but a vessel of the body.

What is thought? - It is the current that moves us.

What is pain? - Nothing but electricity, energy, power.

What can pain do? - Nothing. Pain is an illusion, circuitry in the mind. It holds no power.

What can we do? - Cut the wire. Destroy the switch. Cut the power.

And what is the result? - Our minds are clean, our bodies are clean, our aura is clean, our soul is clean.

Dalkav and Aurale came out of their trance, just as another psychic wave hit them. They knew there was nothing to fear. There was no pain. They were unaffected.

Aurale checked his controls, his HUD showing that they had remained in cloak the whole time, and at their present speed of 120 km/s, they were now approx. 7200 km away.

"Dalkav," Aurale said, communicating through the tranciever connected to his throat, "we must turn back. We must see what that was!"

"I agree, brother Aurale." Dalkav said, his fingers resting on the gelatenous surface that surrounded him, "let's see what that was."

Put 80% into engines, 20% divided among all other systems. Dalkav thought, his ship responding as though it were his own arms.

Dalkav and Aurale raiced towards the object, their speed reaching well over 450 km/s.

In 16 seconds, they had returned. Only they found that not one, but three fleets had arived. The other two were nothing. Only the one fleet mattered: those psychic ones.

Decloaking, the two brothers angrily cast communications at the enemy ship, unfamilliar with their electronics, so therefor unfamilliar as to where to send the transmission. There words were angry as they said, "Why did you do that!? What is the matter with you! Such attacks could be taken as hostile actions against the Keloon Empire!!! We shall not tolerate such acts!! Respond!"

They realized, with a jolt, that these people probably did not speak Shakoon, and their angry words might be anticipated as a threat...

OOC: Who!! That was fun!

"I still don't think this is a good idea sir." Commander Quentin Salbien said, "These jumps never work out quite the way they're supposed too."

"I know that very well. I was in command of the Corvus remember." Commodore Janice Elliot said to her XO. "However, OISI says something is up in that system. So I got orders from FleetCom to take my battlegroup out."

"But at the expense of leaving Gateway less defended? The spooks must really consider this important." Salbien added.

"Indeed it does look that way." Elliot was interupted mid-speech by the comm officer.

"Gate control says they're ready for us sir."

Elliot nodded, "Send word to the rest of the battlegroup that we're moving out." She then addresed the astrogator and helmsman. "Take us through."

The battlegroup moved forward, the screening frigates and destroyers were the first to enter the gate. Seconds later the main battle line entered, two Halo-class fleet carriers, the XNV Archangel and XNV Cherib and four Vision-class battleships.

Moments pasted as the battegroup made its way to the targeted system at extreme FTL velocities. The ships arrived not far from a planet.

"We have contacts on the scopes."

"Report." Ordered Elliot. The tactical display came up on the main holo-tank, there were many ships in orbit of the planet. Energy readings suggested they had their weapons online. "Sound Genera; Quarters."

Klaxons blared througout the ships of the battlegroup, a calm female computer voice said, "Five minutes to decompression." Crewers scrambled to their stations, pulling their flexible helmets and gloves from their utility pouches and attaching them to the vacuum safe nano-fabric of their uniforms and linking up to the atmosphere feeds at their battlestations.

Pilots raced to their fighters and prepared for launch. On the flag bridge of the Archangel Commodore Elliot ordered, "Comm get me a system wide frequency." When the officer signaled the task was done she broadcast, "Attention all ships. This Commodore Elliot of the Xessmithian Navy. What is the situation?"

Dalkav and Aurale were tense, wondering what the large battle group wanted. They didnt' understand what their message had been, but it had been wide-range; that they could tell.

"Dalkav," Aurale asked, looking at the battle fleets as he said so, "What if they attack!?"

"I don't know, brother Aurale." Dalkav replied, his hands gripped tightly on his controls. "I don't know."

They were anticipating...something. It was evident that they must not look friendly, two ships that had just barked angry remarks, a fleet of ships that had attacked without warning, and now a new fleet: jumping into a situation where weapons were hot.

"Aurale," Dalkav said, "turn off your weapons. Make them know we don't want conflict."
"But brother-"
"Just do it!" Dalkav paused, "Instead, shunt that power to the engines and shields. We might need to get out of here if things get ugly."

Aurale complied, and they both turned their weapon systems off-line. During this time, Dalkav readied a fast-probe, hoping he would not have to use it. Hoping he would not need to signal the fleet...

The angry voice on the radio degenerated into a series of angry clicks and whistles as yet more (apparently) human ships arrived.
The Tandu Home Fleet commander clicked its mandibles, calming itself.
"All fleets mussssttt leave NOW or shallsth not leave at allll!"
The words slurred as the insectoids imperfect grasp of English was being tested.
He switched back to Tandu.
"Weapons officer, power the psychic weapons again, as well as the energy guns. Launch fighters and tell the marines to prepare for boarding actions of they have to."
The Tandu destroyers and cruisers, which looked rather insectlike themselves, arranged themselves into a long wall-like formation with curving edges to prevent flanking.

OOC:
Tandu ships are mostly built for speed and power, a good hit with a somewhat powerful weapon will most likely cripple or destroy one, the trouble is actually hitting them. The average Tandu capital ship CAN reach very high speeds and, as I said, they have quite powerful weapons.
The Tandu themselves are rather large insects, they look vaugly like a Preying Mantis with hands instead of clawy things.
Dont even THINK about close combat with one, unless you have some damn good armour.

"Brother..." Aurale said, detecting the fighters and watching the energy weapons charging.
"I know, I know!" Dalkav said, launching the probe as he did so, "Evasive maneuvars!"

The probe raced along, before jumping into subspace.

The two fighters began evasive maneuvars, at first it looked like they were headed in a linear retreat. Then, suddenly, it was as if an invisible hand had picked the two craft up from behind. They rose suddenly into the air as though they were atatched to strings. In the same moment, they ingaged their cloaking devices. Their images blurred out, unable to be seen by the naked (or most other types of sensor's) eye.

"The fleet should be ariving withing three minutes!" Dalkav said, a smile now gripping his once-tense face. "Until then, let's show them what the Keloon fighters can do! Plan Sk'aksoln."
"Yes, brother Dalkav." Aurale said, his eyes looking with hunger at the ships before him, "let's go!"

This will be interesting thought Dalkav.
We've never seen their ship electronic scematics, and they've never seen ours. Automated fire isn't going to do anything: this is all going to be about skill...

OOC: Let me explain a bit about the Keloon fighters: They are propelled by Gravity drives, which are very powerful reactionless drives that allow them to essentially move any-which way they please. I know, you're asking "Well, the high-G shifting would rip them to pieces!" The Keloon cockpit is imbeded within the craft, the Keloon piolet is suspended in a gelatenous fluit wearing a full environmental suit. Within the suit is a HUD displaying all information a Keloon would need. You'll see their main weapon soon, but remember: its' really hard to hit a Keloon fighter. There aren't that many of them, but quality replaces quantaty.

Oh, and to discribe a Keloon: they're about a foot to a foot-and-a-half higher than humans, with blue skin, red eyes, and horns.

"All fleets mussssttt leave NOW or shallsth not leave at allll!"

"Well they seem like a friendly lot." Salbien said, sarcasm dripping from his voice.

"Mmm, my orders are very specific about finding out everything I can about this system. Tell the battle group to arm point-defense weapons, and launch three squadrons on combat space patrol. Tell them not to engage unless fired upon." Elliot said quickly. She went back on the system-wide and spoke into her helmet mike as the ship was now devoid of atmosphere, "I'm afraid I can't leave. I have explicit orders, but I can assure you we are not here with hostile intentions." She paused, "However make no mistake, if we are fired upon it will be taken as an act of war against Xessmithia and you will be forced to deal with the consequences." She shut down the transmission.

"Here's hoping they get the message." Salbien said.

"Indeed, lets hope they do."

Aurale and Dalkav paused, waiting for the ships batteries to fire:

But they didn't.

"What's going on!?" Aurale said, "Why aren't they attacking!?"
"I don't know." Dalkav said, his brow furrowed under his helmet, "I think we'll need to hold off on the attack. Fleet ETA: 1 minute."
"Brother Dalkav, look!"

Dalkav could see it too. The other fleet was launching fighters.

"Dalkav, are we within transmission range!?" Aurale said.
"Yes, but wh-"
"I'm going to make a sub-space communication!"

Aurale consentrated and gave a general communication call into subspace, relaying all recent transmissions and information as he did so:

Attention: A'ldalus Battle Group. We need any information about the languages of these creatures!!! Do we have any!?

A reply came back almost instantly.

We do about one of them. The second fleet is using English. We've had dealing with them before. We can synthesis a voice for you. We're uploading it now.

Their computers began to process the incoming information. As it was doing so, the scene outside became more and more tense. The first fleet was enclosed in a wall formation, its fighters protecting it from all sides. The second fleet was begining to form a formation: their ships and fighters scrambling.

"Done!" Aurale said, turning on his communicator as he did so:

"Be at attentiveness! We ourselves do come from another place to communicate with you in dialogue with one or more parties involved. We are not wishing for conflict involving weapons to start in the immediate future. We are hoping for settlement now."

"Will it work?" Aurale said.
"We can only hope so..." Dalkav replied.

"The second group of ships has vanished, we think its a cloaking device," The sensor officer was frantically switching between detection modes "They show up a little on the psi sensor, we can target to within six meters of their position."
The comms officer had risin from its seat and handed over a report
"Response from the other fleet, they say they wont leave but they arent here for 'hostile reasons.'"
Pondering this new information the Commander supressed his anger again. The stinger on his left wrist was flashing in and out of view.
"Do not attack the larger fleet, deal with the fighers and then we shall deecided what to do with the meatbags.

"UNkown ship, we suggest you depart from the system until we have dealt with the fightersss. Staying within weapons range may be...dangerous. Depart beyond the sixth planet or risk being hit with another psychic attack."

The Tandu fleet had broken up, now that they had an idea they werent going to be dealing with capitol ships.
They locked onto the fast moving psi signatures and began to pour energy into the space. A few had launched missiles of various types, seeking for energy, heat or psi.

"It didn't work!" Aurale said, "the one fleet is attacking!!!"
"Concentrate on that fleet, do not attack the other one! They aren't attacking yet. I'm relaying our status to the fleet." Dalkav said, "ETA: 20 seconds."

They exited cloak, and began to arc widly out of the way of the energy weapons. As the missiles approached, attracted by their heat, the two ships seemed to be diving straight for them: only to break off at the last minute. They moved in a ninty degree angle away from the missiles: Aurale going up, Dalkav going down. The missiles were confused. In their confusion, a few spiraled off after each ship. The chase ensued for a good ten seconds, before each brother turned so that their ships fronts were facing the missiles (still moving away at the same speed): and fired their weapons.

A great beam erupted from the front of their ships: purple with red bands of energy drifting around it. The missiles were incinerated, exploding when they connected with the beam.

"If those had hit us, we'd be gonners." Aurale said.

The two fighers began to charge to the attacking fleet's fighter formation.

Just then, space began to fill with blue jump-gates. The fleet had arived.

After the biological life forms on the ships had been relieved and the droids had taken control, to negate the effects of the psi-distrupors. The General had told the droids to keep a steady pace, and to not engage. Now though the General knew that he had the largest fleet here, and probably the most advanced.

So they drifted closer till they were within Firing range
"Open fire, launch our Droid Starfighters, engage the enemy, Disable their ships only, however. Asajj Ventress will lead the boarding party of the Insect fleet's flag ship."

"Yes, General" Asajj said as she bowed and walked away.

The fleet opened fire with their turbolasers and Ion cannons. With over 300 ships (The entire Corprate alliance fleet, they just arrived in the known systems after being gone for some time) of different sizes the "show of light" would be beautiful if not weapons of death and destruction.

As the first salvo lanced out Boarding parties headed out for the fleet with Droid Fighter Escorts.

OOC: Droid fighters although not the best fighters, are used to overwhelm the enemy. They swarm and destroy the enemy.

There are a couple a different types of ships. Basically just more advanced Clone-War era Ships. Stats will come soon as I haven't had the time to post the actually stats.

"New fleet arriving, power the big guns. Once the ships have arrived dump psi into their space. While they are off balance I want them hit with as much as possible. Prepare th-"
It was interrupted when several fighters exploded.
"And deal with the heretics fighters! Destroy them!"
The Tandu fighters swerved, almost turning in place, to face the space where the enemy fighters were thought to be. They opened fire with a number of interesting but quite deadly laser weapons, one or two attempted to ram their fighters into whatever looked like a cloaked fighter.

"Fools." Dalkav said, recalling an old line from his training days, "Allow the enemy to fire. A hidden death is your worst enemy."

Dalkav and Aurale began a zig-zag pattern. Moving up and down as they did. The fighters weapons began to wizz around them. A few even rammed them. The fire was too much for even their nimble ships to dodge for long.

"Attention, Shana One and Two, the A'ldalus Battle Group is here. Move out of the way. We are charging our main batteries."

The largest ship had emerged. An A'ladnanshoon class ship.

"By Kelos!" Dalkav said, "They brought in a battlecruiser!"

As fighters poured from the back of the ship, its main beams began to heat up. Dalkav and Aurale realized that they probably shouldn't be there for much longer...if they wanted to survive.

"Dalkav, evasive manuvers!"
"Right, Au-"
One of the ships had dettonated itself near Dalkav's ship. Its' hull had burst open. A small figure was drifting out into space.

"Dalkav! Dalkav!!! NO!!" Aurale shouted, as the battlecruiser opened fire.

OOC: I've got to go. I need to eat dinner. Let's continue this tomorrow, n'kay?

The Tandu fleet chose that moment to discharge several hours worth of pent-up psi.
A wave of alien screeching roiled out from the bridges of the Tandu ships, overloading any brain it came in contact with, including a few Tandu who forgot to activate their psi-shields.
"Concentrate fire on the large ship, evasive action!"

Space erupted into flame as the alien ships opened fire on one another.

"Do we engage sir?" Asked the tactical officer.

"No, they haven't attacked us so we won't attacke them. However order the fleet to move into basic anti-missile formation, and have all of Archangel's Peregrine fighters sent out on CSP. Hold the Eagle's in reserve with anti-shipping ordanance. Send word to the Cherib to do the same." Elliot ordered quickly.

"Orders sent sir."

"Good, give me system-wide again." As soon as the officer nodded Elliot started talking, "Stop the hostilities, a reasonable solution can be found without bloodshed. Please respond."

"Do you really think that'll work sir?" Salbien asked slowly. His voice filled with some mix of sadness and disapointment.

"I have no idea, Salbien. However, OISI sent us out here for a reason. And I'm damn sure it wasn't to watch a bunch of people blow eachother into their constituent atoms." She looked at the plot again and all the icons which were her fighters, the dozen screening ships and the purple icons rimmed by scarlet that represented unkonwn ships engaged. "And I also know, that whatever OISI wants us to find, it will be easier to find without having to dodge weapons fire."

OOC: Psionics/The Force/ Psychic stuff won't work on my people. I personally don't like that stuff so I ignore it. Just consider my humans to have a gene that stops any of that stuff affecting them.

OOC: I'll make a more detailed response later, I'm too tired right now. Just FYI: Psionics work on Keloon, but Keloon technology is based on the direct transference of Psionic energy into stored energy cells. Psionics are not unkown by the Keloon, so we do have defenses against them.
