OOC: What business does an 18 million population nation have with subs armed with nukes? Most players on NS will ignore countries under 100 million that claim to have nuclear weapons. Also keep in mind that you need to actually have a standing army before acquiring nuclear weapons, and those cost money to set up.

Israel has nukes almost solely because of massive US military aid and subsidies. Without US help, I doubt they would be able to afford toys like nuclear subs.

As for Great Britain, 61 million people is a hell of a lot more than your current 18 million. A few NS players routinely bring this up to argue for newbies, but they are in the minority. If you roleplay the lengthy process of research and development, instead of just ordering n00ks from someone, it's more likely that your nuke program will be acknowledged.

The unofficial "100 million population rule" exists to keep new nations from saying "OMG I have 3000000000000 n00kZ I pWnz0r j00!!!111!!!" to nations a hundred times their size. Yes, that does happen, believe it or not. Also, if you didn't notice already, populations in NS are much larger than that of RL earth; any nation that's been around for more than 3 RL months has a population of more than 500 million, for example.

This is debated to an extent in the stickies. Read them. I was patient. Relax, you'll be at 100 million in two RL weeks--it's not that long.
