ECF Announces Elimination of Starfleet,

General announcement:
The ECF Congress has decided, in light of recent events, to in 50 years (1-2RL months) Disband Starfleet.

Starfleet has kept the peace and protected us from invaders for over 400 years. However new contacts with new races, many violent. And more advanced than anything in our universe. We have deemed it necessary that we disband Starfleet. They have been able to defend us. But we think that we need to start over. The most advanced ships in Starfleet have Phased Quantum beams,

There ships are no match for some of the ships from major powers in the other universe,

In 30 years once out research is complete we will disband the Government Military Known as Starfleet.

An entire new generation of ships is being designed,

New power systems, new shields, new weapons, new fighters, new materials the list can go on and on. Until that time Starfleet’s ships are too due receive major retrofits to allow them to compete with other ships in the universe.

What was the status of the old starfleet? Can you give us a discription or show us images?

The old Starfleet consits of about 1200 ships, each one ranging anywhere from 300m to 1250m.
It will be retrofitted with new weapons.
They have an assortment of Quantum and Phased Light energy weapons as well as Gravity weapons and others.
It's not outdated by some means.
On an FT tech scale on a scale of 1-20 it would be about an 10.

Would the governing body of the East Coast Federation be willing to divulge any information about their planned new vessels, such as the average dimensions? Also, how many vessels are proposed to make up this new fleet?

StarFleet went along the lines of " Fast and Able to Dodge Fire " Though for ships their size they are able to put out a decent amount of pain.

The Tornado Class as Its been dubbed.
Why? It's very fast at sublight, it can borderline lightspeed without using any FTL.
It's an Starfleet ship, meaning its powerful for it's size.
10X 20,50,00 Terajoule Phaser Banks ( about 5 gigatons, which isn't all that powerful )
5XClass 2 Quantum Beams
12X Transpashic Torpedo Banks
These are Strip Based Weapons so thats why they fit on such a small ship.
Max Speed: Warp 9.99998, TransWarp II, Fold Drive,
Power: Warp Core, QC Reactor

New ships are going down the " mid sized " line.
They will all be much larger than our current ships.
About 600m to 1800m And the Clinton will remain in service,
The new fleet will be about 700 Ships.
