The Galactic Library is an semi-alliance dedicated to the aquisition and preservation of knowledge in a central location(s?) avalible for refrence by anybody, at any time.
The basic idea is that people make contributions about ships, weapons, planets, species, events, people, whatever. It just has to be IC.
The 'entry' is transmitted from the central library to all the 'branch' libraries, for refrence by anybody.
The 'alliance' part comes from the fact that it is the responsibility of ALL members to protect each library from intentional harm, if one gets caught up in a cities firebombing, the Library will ask for compensation of course, but if a nation intentionaly destroys a Library for its own sake, they would be attacked in some way.
If this gets popular enough, I will make a forum for it, but until then we can keep it here.

My main problem is that my nation wouldnt really start something like this, they dont like other people. If somebody else wants to make an IC proposal...or we could just have it sort of pop into existance.

I figure this might be an interesting RP point, having IC access to certain information might be quite usefull and contribute greatly to RP
Not that Im suggesting that people should post their super-secret-military-secrets-of-secretfullness, but a bio of your national leader, the Great Poodle Rebellion of '34, and exaggerated details of your nations huge-arse fleet.
That side other nations might want to write what they found out about your super-fleet.
