52km northwest of Il Monterio
7.30pm CST

Rodrigo Alomar de Cristo, the leader of the GLNP, sat in his dusty bunker office in the desert northeast of Pacitalia. He always wondered how the Pacitalian government was unaware of this place, he had used it as his principal offices and main standpoint for the Gruppe Liberaccione di Norte Pacitalia for more than 10 years. The goal of the GLNP was always clear. Strike hard and fast against Pacitalian targets to get the message across - give the Spanish residents of Northeastern Pacitalia their own government and hand over the region to them or else the bombings and attacks against civilians would continue.

He knew it would either be the GLNP winning enormously, or the group dying out horribly. He also knew whatever they did next, would be their last before the endgame. The government was getting very close.

Rodrigo pondered whether the government would ask for outside help, and with that he was certain if that was to occur the GLNP was certainly done for. There had to be a huge attack, something big so that those government pigs wouldn't forget the GLNP even if it was dead.

As he sat, ideas came to his head, but he dismissed them. Already done, too risky, not big enough. He was starting to worry.

Prime Minister's Office, Timiocato
7.30pm

Prime Minister Timothy Ell sat in his office, fresh off conversations with Mike Sarzo, the President of Sarzonia, his Agustinates of International Relations and Law, Order & Justice, and his secretary. The liberation of Sarzonia from probably the world's biggest fool had successfully finished and Sarzo was safe. Sarzo and Nicole Lewis, who had served as President during the crisis, were up for Capostication. He thought he could relax, but...

His chief secretary, Adriana della Capita, burst into his office.

"SIR!" she said, breathless.

"What is it, Adriana?" he said, concerned.

"Our GLNP double-agent just contacted Mr. Venizelos! He says that Rodrigo is thinking of planning a new attack within the next six months."

"Dammit!" Ell said, loudly. "We need to rid Pacitalia of the GLNP, and faster than we thought. We may need some international help. Did our informant say that he knows anything else?"

"No, sir."

"Well, I'm going to hold a press conference today. I have to request international help for this if we want to get it done in 4 months or less. They already know we're after them in a big way, they can't do anything serious in four months. They'll do minor things that our police forces can definitely prevent."

"Okay, sir. I'll get the press conference set up."

"Thank you."

He turned back to the window. Just when he thought he could settle down for a while and get some R&R, this pops up again...

Smarten up, Tim, you're the Prime Minister, he thought. This is what you signed up to do.

Bump!

Press Conference, Timiocato
8.00pm PST

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Prime Minister of Pacitalia."

http://kfox.gamehorizons.net/Pacitalia/11dec04_1_pic.jpg

"Good evening. I am holding this press conference tonight to tell of you a power so evil, so dark, that wiping it off the face of the Earth will take much strength and a lot of will.

I speak of the GLNP, who at this very moment sit in the Northeast, waiting for the Government to make a move. And although our military is sufficiently strong enough to wipe this terrorist group out ourselves, I'm afraid I'm not confident we can do it ourselves.

Therefore, I plead to the international community for help. Anything you can give is appreciated. Even one battalion of troops if you can spare it.

I come to you because I have received word that the GLNP are planning another strike six months to a year from now. This information is valid and true, and was received minutes ago. It is obvious that we need to act now, because if we don't, the lives of millions of Pacitalians may hang in the balance. And who knows whether the GLNP chooses now to attack our allies to send a greater message?

Even though that was rhetorical, there is still an answer for it. We don't. We don't know when, or how they will attack us.

To the countries of the world, we need your help. We will be forever grateful for it. Thank you."

The Prime Minister walked off the stage towards the door, avoiding the questions of the reporters.

The helicopters circled the landscape, like lions surverying potential prey. The sound of propellers buffeting the air echoed in the sky. Minutes later, they landed on the runway, and the doors opened as hundreds of troops emerged, toting guns and chanting patriotic slogans. A series of black, sleek, bulletproof limosines skidded to a halt in front of them, and whisked them away to the nearest Pacitalian military base to receive their orders.

"Sir?" Venizelos inquired. "522 Roach-Busters forces have landed at the SEATO army base near Sambuca."

"Excellent," Ell replied, smiling. "Thank you, Eleftherios. Can you email President J.L. with your thanks? I will phone him now."

Ell picked up the receiver, dialed RB's country code and the 22-digit phone number to connect him to the Presidential Palace in RB City.

"Hello? What can I do for you?" replied the timid quiet secretary.

"This is the Prime Minister of Pacitalia, Timothy Ell. Connect me to President J.L., please."

"One moment while we verify the phone number."

"Of course."

Twenty seconds later, the secretary came back on the line. "Thank you. Please hold, sir."

House Speaker Josh Williams was strolling from his office to his car after the first day for Parliament following the civil war. He was ready for a break but then again, so was most of the Sarzonian government. As he walked toward the parking garage, an aide ran up behind him.

"Mr. Speaker!"

Williams looked back, irritated. Can't you see I'm going home, he thought.

"Mr. Speaker, Pacitalia is having problems with the GNLP."

"We've had problems with the RSTF, what's the difference," Williams snapped. "We've got so many of our own problems that we don't have time to chase terrorists in other countries."

"Mr. Speaker, with all due respect, they helped us depose the RSTF. I think we ought to do something to help them."

"I can ask the President to authorize a special ops force to go to Pacitalia, but I don't think we're going to be able to commit anything else."

"Thank you sir."

Williams opened the door to his car and got in. He rolled his eyes and flipped open his phone to call President Mike Sarzo.

"Sarzo."

"Hi, it's Josh."

"Hey Josh, what can I do for you?"

"Pacitalia is trying to get rid of this terrorist group over there," he began.

"Oh, the GNLP?"

"Yeah, how did you know?"

"They kidnapped a world leader when I was over in Timiocato," Sarzo said. "I'm going to have us send three special ops units over there."

"Are you sure we can spare them?"

"Look, they helped get me back in office. I owe them one."

"You got it."

Williams hung up the phone then called Prime Minister Timothy Ell.

"Your excellency, this is Josh Williams, speaker of the House of Delegates in Sarzonia. We're sending you three special operations units to help root out the GLNP."

Williams waited for Ell's response, but pulled out his Blackberry to send the special ops forces.

Situation Room, Presidential Complex,
Victoria, Federal Republic of Canada - 9:45 PM PST

President Anthony Raymond Wittrock walked into the Situation Room as Chief of Staff, Kiel Wright and Vice President John Bieker followed behind him as they looked around, "What is the situation?"

The National Security Advisor spoke, "We recently recieved reports from CNIA Officials in Pacitalia have reported that there may be an attack on their homesoil by a known terrorist group, I have spoken both to Lieutenant General Harding and the Joint Chiefs that military operation to disband this group will be in our best interest."

President Wittrock looked over at Vice President Bieker, "Don't we have that problem with the Pacitalia over the Bering Strait Affair?"

"We do still, President. However, I believe if we announce that this group is a terrorist group on an international broadcast, maybe they'll support our claims and something in our eyesight can be negotiated."

President Wittrock turned his head back to William Carter (NSA) spoke, "We still believe that this would be in our best interest to have this group disbanded. They just not encourage domestic terrorism but terrorism abroad."

President Wittrock nodded his head as he looked at the Chief of Staff to comment, "It is in our foreign policy to be apart of the war on terrorism even if it is a domestic issue for another country, if it weren't. We wouldn't of found your wife and daughters' killers, to bring justice."

Anthony sighed as he said, "Alright. I want the Press Secretary to schedule time with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for an important announcement to make. I want the Secretary of State to make a statement to Pacitalia that they do not have anything to worry, and in any means nessecary. We will dispatch the CNSTF to their country to fight terrorists and bring them to justice. Dismissed."

"Yes sir."

The three men left the Situation Room as President Wittrock followed behind.

The lovely Press Secretary smiled and began to speak, "The President of the Federal Republic of Canada has a few words to be said on the GLNP issue in Pacitala."

President Wittrock moved behind the podium as Lisa Schaap moved aside, "Good evening, Canadians and international viewers. I, the President of the Federal Republic of Canada speak regarding the current issue of terrorism in the nation of Pacitalia. My administration's foreign policy is rampant against in any forms of terrorism, including international and domestic that do not show any real threat to the people, institutions of Canada. However, we open our arms to the people and government of Pacitalia to help in any means nessecary. This includes sending our military, intelligence officials and members of the Canadian National Security Taskforce to deal with your domestic terrorists and disband them. We believe they'll become bored of things within the nation and move to the international scene. We must stop them before its too late. That is all for now. Enjoy your evening."

A black corvette rode down the roads a small urban town in north-east Pacitalia, occupied by a chellian-frenchmen and a local girl. It pulled up to a clothing shop, its quality obviously not catering to someone of the frenchman's wealth. He himself was here on a buisness trip from a chellian company operating out of another nation, the name not important. He was a long distance from his conference, however.

He kissed the woman, and got out of the car. He had a Beretta 92 strapped inside his jacket, but it fairly hard to see. He walked in, and went straight to the desk. He slipped the cashier a card, and stepped into the back-room.

"Im glad you would see me, Mr.Empier." The man sat in a chair, he had been awaiting the Frenchman. "You're late."

"I got a little local meat, ya know?"

"Indeed. I can't guarantee anything from my...affiliates, but what can you offer?"

"Right down to buisness? Alright. For free, we are willing to ship you the following. 600 G36c assault rifles. Four hundred USP's in 45 caliber. 50 Milan ATGM's with 4 rockets each, and 100 Panzerfaust 3's. We can also get various body armour, explosives, and hard cash to you, around 500,000 USD for your endeavors. We can also provide you with 24 mercenaries, ex-chellian special forces. They can do anything from protection to terrorism. You know where to contact me if you agree. Ask your boss, and then let me know." He said, as he began to back out of the room. The girl has run off, the car stereo was gone. "C'est la vie. They have bad radio here anyways." He said, as he went searching for some girls.

12 hours ago:
The newly elected President of Syrana, Antonio Rosa, recieved information on the terrorist situation in Pacitalia. A small smile came upon his face as he finished reading the memo on the GLNP.
" I see. This looks to be quite the interesting situation. Perhaps we should send support. What sort of free resources do we have, anyway?"

The small cabinet of officials Rosa was among looked among them selves, and Chris Danielson, the Defense Minister, spoke up.
"Mr. President, you know our situation, i trust. Our state is still only recently formed. We have barely had time to form essential services out of the chaotic anarchy our land was covered in before. Our military is nearly nonexistant. It isnt even enough to defend our borders. Our coffers have yet to be filled with tax Silias, and public support may still turn against us. Do you really think it would be wise to begin a military campaign?"

The president looked at Mr. Danielson and nodded.
"Of course! Our military may be young, but it is still well trained. And besides, we need something to show the people that we will seriously defend our borders, as well as make sure that external threats are eliminated. Oh, and by the way, if we have an enemy, people will enlist. National unity will be solidified by a war. This would also show the international community that we are able and willing to aid in the fight against terrorists. You recall how it was back when our own ethnic groups were feuding, correct? This is a chance to show the world that Syrana does not tolerate such nonsense any longer. So, I say we send troops. As many as we can."

The majority of the cabinet began to nod their heads, agreeing with the President. Even Minister Danielson nodded.
"That is true, Mr. President. But I still don't like the idea of our troops overseas when we are unable to defend our own borders."

Even though he said this, he was silently agreeing. They needed a propaganda victory, that was definitely true.

Now:
The Pacitilian government has recieved a memo from the Syranese government. It was short and to the point.
"The Syranian government has decided to support the Pacitilian war against the GLNP. We shall send troops and resources to Pacitilia as soon as can be arranged, pending your acceptance."

As the telegram returnd to the President, he smiled, and called for the Defense Minister.
"How is the acquisition of sidearms coming?"
"My men have just ordered a large shipment of 10mm sidearms. We hope to have them by the time we are ready."
"Good. How many troops can we spare at the moment for our campaign?"
"In all honesty, none whatsoever. However, I've been on it, and I have managed to gather together four hundred soldiers without causing very much significant damage to the strength of our bases. My men have also gathered what we have estimated to be enough adaquete military equipment to support them. Granted, it's ALL of the decent equipment we have at the moment, but it should suffice."
The president nodded and looked away. He ordered a message be sent immediately.

To Prime Minister Timothy Ell:
The Syranese government thanks you for your compliments. The government has authorized the use of 400 troops and assorted equipment to be sent to your nation. However, the Rosa administration also asks that the Syranese forces stay under their own command as the only condition for deployment. The Syranese military will not be used as cannon fodder to be thrown away like nothing. We request instructions on where our troops are to be sent, and a more detailed briefing on the situation. Depending on the outcome of the initial campaign, more troops may be sent to show continued support of your cause. Good day.

Colonel Josh Corbin's right knee was bouncing up and down as he sat in his seat. His special ops unit was on its way via military transport to the SEATO base in Sambuca where the team would coordinate with Pacitalian military units to begin the hunt for the GLNP.

As eager as he was outwardly to "get it on," as he so often exorted his troops; inwardly, he was feeling anxious. He and the rest of the three units trained extensively for the kind of work his units would be expected to do, but it was the first time his unit would see live action rather than the frequent drills they were expected to perform under the watchful eye of the Sarzonian army.

Ever since Sanctaphraxian general Antonius Santius became essentially a consultant for the Sarzonian army, training methods changed dramatically. Intense drills often exceeded the rigors of real combat for the Sarzonian army. In fact, in the one combat action that wasn't an attempt to put down a rebellion, the Sarzonian army easily won its lone engagement, killing nearly 1,000 while losing only nine of its own troops.

Still, any time a unit was heading for real combat was going to be the great unknown, and the only thing that would ease Corbin's nerves was to see his unit get real combat experience.

No time like the present, Corbin thought.

"Sir, we're approaching Sambuca now. You asked to be informed."

"Thank you Colonel," Corbin told Lt. Colonel Elizabeth Howard. She commanded the Alpha Unit that would be seeking out the GLNP's communications lines and would try to either intercept their "chatter" and cut them off at the pass or would try to sever their communications to proverbially prevent their right hand from knowing what their left hand was doing.

"Colonel George and Colonel Vincent, get your men and women ready for their missions."

"Aye, sir." Lt. Colonel Erynn George had a slightly more difficult task than Bolden. Her forces would look for supply lines that kept the GLNP equipment flowing and they would attempt to capture the equipment and choke them of their effectiveness as a terrorist organization. She knew her forces needed to be as quick and as efficient as possible.

Lt. Colonel Ed Vincent was going to be more of the read-and-react group. If the GLNP was going to attack, his unit was going to meet them head on. As a result, he had 6,000 troops compared to the other two Lt. Colonels' 4,500 each. They had to strike quickly and retake the element of surprise from the terrorists and he knew his men had to be the best of the best along with the largest of the three units.

Corbin nodded with a steely look of determination etching his 46 year old face. Life in the Army didn't give him much of a chance to show his stuff on the battlefield, unlike the widely decorated Navy and the cooly efficient Air Force. He figured Sarzonia would be up to the task if only given the opportunity, but he had to find out for himself.

Syranese City Times:
Headline: Syranian Forces to Support Pacitilian Anti-GLNP Activities

Robert Lowe, senior Press Secretary for the Rosonian Administration held a press conference today at 11:30 A.M., Syranese Standard Time. During the short conference, Lowe announced the Rosonian Administration's intention to send troops to aid Pacitilia in the destruction of the Communist terrorist group, the GLNP. After giving a short statement on the situation in Pacitilia, which has been on the news nearly constantly in recent days, he announced that the President and the Defense minister had authorized sending approximatly four hundred infantry, along with several support units, in an anti-terrorist action against the GLNP.

While the Syranese Constitution states that Congress needs to vote on the matter before a war can be declared, small scale anti-terrorist actions are one of the several exceptions to this rule, giving full control over the operation to the President.

"An infestation, eh? Well, they don't call us 'Roach-Busters,' for nothin'," General Creighton Eastmoreland, the commander of all RB forces in Pacitalia, replied with a chuckle. "Call in the helicopters. I want to be off the ground and on the way to Il Monterio in twenty-five minutes."
"Yes, sir!"

Il Monterio- Later

The helicopters slowly descended to the ground, kicking up huge fumes of dust reminiscent of miniature mushroom clouds. Even when General Eastmoreland screamed at the top of his lungs, the blaring sound of propellers chopping the air nearly drowned out his voice. The doors opened, and out hopped about fifty soldiers, rugged and ready for battle, machine-guns in hand.
"Set up a perimeter and begin the investigation," General Eastmoreland ordered. "If you see anyone suspicious, bring 'em in. And for God's sake, don't shoot anybody unless they shoot at you first!"
Yeah, assuming they miss, a disgruntled young draftee thought, rolling his eyes. Luckily, General Eastmoreland had not seen it. If he had, he would have given the soldier seven flavors of hell. Eastmoreland was normally a kind man, but he had an extremely short fuse and was prone to ballistic outbursts when annoyed. A four-star general, Eastmoreland was not the kind of man you wanted to piss off.
Lieutenant Tim Ozras nodded, affirming that he understood the orders. "Yes, sir!" he said, rendering a sharp salute.
The soldiers divided into groups of five and began to survey the area, attempting to locate anyone or anything even remotely suspicious.

This is a new Presidential announcement on the issue of the GLNP, we wish for you to hand over all intelligence dossiers on this terrorist group that your intelligence officials have profiled to help with other such things.

We also we'll be sending a naval presence in the area with two aircraft carriers, seven destroyers, five battle cruisers, sixteen non-nuclear submarines, and three AEGIS cruisers onto your coastal shore line. If this is not acceptable, we will allow a rejection.

IF NOT REJECTED, we would like permission to use any means nessecary of strategic bombardment with cruise missiles to destroy the GLNP's strongholds throughout your nation.

We will provide the 389 dossiers but we expect to have them back. Please do not make copies of them. We trust that you won't. A naval presence on your part is thoughtful and a good idea, but is not needed. The GLNP is based inland. Maybe we'll use the cruise missiles if absolutely necessary. Civilian deaths are the last thing I need.

OOC: Apologies for the dbl. post.

(OOC: We'll assume this is a poor suburb near Il Monterio where the majority of the population speaks only Italian)

The draftee absolutely hated this job. Because he spoke no Italian, he wasn't able to accomplish jacks**t. So far, not a single person he had interrogated spoke English. Every time he knocked on the door, he was greeted in Italian. If he mentioned the GLNP, he received an answer in Italian. He had no problem with Italy or Italians- Italian food was damn good- but he was getting sick of trying to communicate with people who couldn't understand a word he said.
Finally, he rang the doorbell of a rather prestigious looking house, and was greeted by a well-groomed, bearded individual with thick horn-rimmed glasses. "May I help you?"
The soldier was so flabbergasted and befuddled that he was able to stumble across someone who spoke the same language that, for a moment, he forgot how to speak English himself! A moment later though, he regained his composure and said, "Y-Yes, I'm Private Smith of the RBAF (Roach-Busters Armed Forces), and I'm investigating the area for GLNP. Seen anyone suspicious lately?"
Damn, he sounded like an police officer from a low-budget, poorly-written TV show, the type that got abyssmal ratings and got cancelled after a few episodes. The military really wasn't for him. He had no interest in the armed forces. He was more interested in medicine. Particularly proctolog-
"Sir?"
He drifted back to attention, shaking his head. No wonder the drill sergeants always gave him crap. As soon as he started thinking, he always dozed off into his own little world. "I'm sorry?"
"I said, I can give you information about the GLNP...for a modest fee."
"Sure, how much would you like me to pay y-" He stopped in mid-sentence. Damn, this was pathetic. He had to stop acting like a damn schoolboy and start thinking like a soldier. "Damn it, man!" he said, trying his damnedest to sound tough and intimidating. "I'm not paying you a f***ing cent! Tell me what you know about the GLNP, or I'll bash your head in!"
The bearded man apparently saw right through the lackluster performance, because he shook his head and said, "Young man, thank goodness you never tried out for the drama class in high school. Teacher'd flunk you in a second."
Actually, he had flunked that class...three times. Oh well.
"Listen, don't gimme any of your s***," Smith said. "Tell me what you know, or I'll-"
He was interrupted by the sound of a deafening explosion behind him, which caused the ground to shake tumultuously; they both stumbled onto their asses with the impact. He whipped his head around- so quickly that he felt a sharp pain in his neck- and saw a nearby house blanketed in thick fumes of smoke as it was consumed by roaring flames.
He ran over to the house to see if anyone had been hurt, but the house seemed to be empty.
The hell? he thought, and did not realize his folly until it was too late.
The bearded gentlemen removed his disguise, aimed his revolver directly at Smith's temple, and pulled the trigger.

5 km south of A-9 superhighway, west of Il Monterio
1900 hours

Private Leo Parasconi of the Pacitalian Armed Forces drove up highway C-7672 with his partner, Private Amando Degrafo, in their army Jeep. They were doing base-to-base runs between the PAF base in Santo Cristo di Paroggio, about 15km southwest of Il Monterio and the airbase in Ecciolada, 8km northwest of Pacitalia's ninth-largest city.

The two were assigned today to check for suspicious activities along this stretch of the C-7672, known to be a hotspot for GLNP insurgents. Today had been a particularly hot day in this desert area of Pacitalia, the warm, moist air still hung in the evening air like a damp cloth. It was still at least 25*C.

"Damn, this job is boring," Leo said in Pacitalian, just barely audible over the heavy wind.

"Yeah, why don't they ever have us doing the fun stuff, like shooting people?" Amando replied in contempt. "I mean, they gave us guns and grenades, but we never see anything that requires them."

"Exactly!" Leo yelled. "What do they expect us to do? Defend ourselves from what? Hahaha..."

At that very moment, a man lurking in the shadows of the scarce brush pulled the pin on a grenade and with careful aim, hurled it into the Jeep rushing by at 90 km/h. It was an almost impossible task but it was managed easily by this skilled man.

He counted down and waited. The explosion was deafening and the flash was nearly blinding. After the fire died down, the Jeep's skeleton was charred and two blackened corpses lay strewn across the road. He silently ran back across the desert to a waiting car on a local road a kilometre to the east. Task number two was complete.

If the government thought they could scare away the GLNP by enlisting the help of allies, they were dead wrong. Even if the organization was done for, they would go out a bang. He laughed evilly inside his head at the pun.

As he and his driver headed back down the local road, he checked off the "list" in his mind. Roach-Busters, Pacitalia, and...hmm...

Whoever was next would feel the wrath too. The GLNP was sending a message.

PAG Base at Ecciolada
1920 hours

Air Commander Hector Zimbarodo sat nervously at his desk. The two men from the PAF were supposed to have arrived five minutes ago. Tardiness was definitely not permitted in the Pacitalian military, and these two were respected for their punctuality. That was one reason for their selection in the patrol job.

Finally, he called the PAF base at Santo Cristo di Paroggio, to ask whether the two soldiers had left.

Special Agent Richard Scott Bowler is the Official-in-charge of the Canadian National Intelligence Agency's Operations in Pacitalia. Two men walked into the restaurant that walked behind his back they spoke in Spanish to on another, "Usted quiere saber algo, Benedicto?"

"Qué Sanchez?" One of the men responded.

"Necesitamos mirar nuestras espaldas."

Bowler looked over his shoulder at the two Spanish people.

Benedicto looked at the man, "Qué mira usted, el turista?"

Bowler replied in the same tongue as the man, "Usted!"

Sanchez looked at Benedicto and then to the man, "El sabe quién nosotros somos!"

Sanchez and Benedicto turned around and started to run out of the restaurant, Bowler quickly stepped to his feet and followed suit as he looked at a woman and spoke in Italian, "Perché devono correre sempre?"

The woman just shrugged her shoulders as Bowler took off after the two men as he took out his cell phone, "Roger, don't meet me at the restaurant, I'm running after two GLNP suspects."

Il Monterio

Pacitalian Central Intelligence Commission (PCIC) agents Danielo Rogazzini and Angela Sant'Opradi were keeping vigilant watch on Leandro's, where CNIA Agent Bowler was checking for bogeys. They sat inconspicuously on a bench, Rogazzini in a business suit reading a newspaper, Sant'Opradi checking her nails and pretending to do her makeup. It had been a couple of minutes, and they both exchanged an extremely fast glance at each other, wondering what was going on inside.

Suddenly, the door to the restaurant slammed open and the glass shattered into many minute fragments. Two men who appeared to be of Spanish ancestry sped out on foot, splitting up, going their opposite ways. Bowler swiftly followed out the door, waving frantically at the two agents.

Rogazzini calmly and carefully pulled his 9mm Glock out of his breast pocket. Sant'Opradi did the same from her purse. She stood up quickly, screaming past Bowler and the westward man towards the one going the opposite direction towards the subway station.

Bowler stopped, steadied and pulled his gun. He yelled, "Stop! ALTO! PARA! I will shoot!"

The man looked back and fell to the ground as the street was cobblestone and he wasn't watching. He was scraped but he stood up and turned, hands up. Rogazzini stood up with his gun trained on the man's neck, dropped his newspaper and took off his fedora and trenchcoat.

Damn, I knew there was something up about him, Benedicto thought. Who the fuck wears a trenchcoat on a 20*C afternoon?

"Get on the ground," Rogazzini said, calmly. "Do it, or be shot."

"Okay, okay," Benedicto said. But he stalled and waited... then began to run.

"Fucking son-of-a-bitch!" Rogazzini yelled, and quick as a fox, began to chase Benedicto.

Meanwhile the other way, Sant'Opradi called after the man known as Sanchez. "Get on the God-damn ground NOW! I am an agent of the PCIC!"

Sanchez hesitated as if he was scared by the knowledge, then darted into a side alley. Sant'Opradi fired once above him and the man stumbled and fell. Sant'Opradi quickly caught up with him, shooting him in the back twice with her silenced pistol. The silencer wasn't really needed anymore, half the street was looking at the agents and supposed terrorists, confused by the intense action and frightened by the three agents waving their sidearms around. Sanchez grunted and fell, dead almost instantly.

Sant'Opradi checked around for bogeys, then without caution, forced the body over and pulled out the man's wallet. "Ramon Fernando Sanchez," she read aloud. She took the driver's licence and walked back to the original scene. Pulling out her cell phone, she called the Il Monterio PCIC headquarters. "This is agent 73949, Sant'Opradi calling. I need cleanup, now. One body, male. Two shots to the back. Alley of the Dead Angels, 25m east of Leandro's Restaurant. Goodbye."

She looked up and saw Bowler and Rogazzini chasing the other man. Her instinct was to help, but she knew she had to keep watch on the body to prevent it from being taken or moved. She chose her hiding spot and moved carefully to it. She said loudly to the scared and confused citizens, "Move on, now. Go!" They slowly returned to their normal errands.

Rogazzini was a star track athlete in secondary school. Bowler looked fit too but he was still a fair distance back. It was easy to catch up with the suspected GLNP terrorist. He moved up beside the man, stuck his foot out and watched as for the second time, the man fell onto the cobblestone street.

Rogazzini dropped onto the man's back, digging his knees into the small of it aggressively. "Bastard! Who are you with?"

"I will never tell you!" he yelled. "I will be so brave as to yell out my name - Bened--"

A red dot left as quickly as it appeared and suddenly, "Bened" was dead, slumped on the street with a bullet hole through his forehead. Rogazzini rolled off, side-somersaulting back onto one knee, aiming his gun around for bogey targets. When nothing arose, he sighed and pulled back up onto one knee.

Sniped, he thought. Damn. Rogazzini pulled the man's wallet out and walked back towards Bowler.

"His name is Benedicto Rodriguez," Rogazzini told him.

Bowler gasped for air and turned to walk back to the restaurant with Rogazzini.

"Damn it... I wonder what luck Angela had."

0800 hours:
The arrival of the Syranese choppers brought great activity to the SEATO base to which they had been sent. Due to a mistake on the Syranese operators' parts, the time zone information had been completely fouled up, causing the small military contingent to be a full five hours early. The ensueing chaos took hours to resolve as the leaders of the Syranese forces clashed with the leadership at the base.
Eventually, the Syranese were lead to the encampment which had been built up for them. Multiple buildings made up of pre-fab materials, hastily cobbled together within several days. They were not precisely comfortable, yet the soldiers did not seem to mind. In fact, that were of equitable quality as the barracks back at the Syranese military bases back home. As they settled in, their commander, Brig. General Casey Armistad, made an overview of their inventory.
"Ten milimeter sidearms?" He said quietly to himself, arching a brow as he examined one of the new sidearms which had in fact just been purchased by the Syranese military.
"Alright then. That's everything." The man had a habit of thinking out loud, saying his thoughts quietly, yet still audible to others around him. He had made at least one enemy this way, it was true.
"Brigadier General... wonderful. They promote me, just to send me out here to... Pacilatnia? No, Pacitilia, right... And what's more, my brigade is made up of a grand total of four hundred soldiers, and two hundred support troops. What a wonderful group! Still, might as well make the best of it."
The man's mumbling was luckily not loud enough to be discerned today, and his aides nearby- several of the so-called 'support' troops, really just bueauroucrats in truth- just heard the usual mumbling. They looked between themselves and were satisfied. However, Armistad was not. He walked out of the small plastic building which they were now using as a storehouse, and the men were called to attention.
"Gentlemen, we have been called here for the purpose of aiding in the quelling of the terrorists who are... terrorizing this country. Yes, anyway, our goal here is clear. With this operation, our nation shall gain prestige, and our own force shall show our enemies that strength that has forged our nation out of chaos, that inner strength that leads us to great courage, and that fierce strength that will overcome any obstacles. You are dismissed!"
As he walked away, the general began to inwardly kick himself. What kind of an inspirational speech was that?! There was no way that he could possibly have been made a Brigadier General due to his merits. Granted, there werent many other people in the country who had commanded forces during the civil wars with as much success as he had, but in the world stage, he needed to be far better.

LEANDRO'S RESTAURANT
North-east Il Monterio, Pacitalia

Special Agent Bowler walked with Rogazzini back to the restaurant, "I am so glad that the PCIC arrived on time, Danielo."

"Ah, it was no trouble," Rogazzini replied. "We've been on their case for ages. Too bad it ended like this. All this work, I really hoped to interrogate them."

Bowler nodded his head to affirm Rogazzini that he had the same intentions, "I needed to interrogate them as well to report to my Officials back in Vancouver, so they can feed our troops once they arrive here in Pacitalia. Ah well, looks like the CNSTF will be doing some house visits."

"Yes, they will indeed," Rogazzini laughed heartily, despite the grim scenes in front and behind them. "When do you expect the troops will be here? Or do you know at all?"

Bowler thought of a witty response to Danielo, "I'm Intelligence, not military. So, probably not. Though most likely in the next few days."

"Excellent news," the Pacitalian agent replied. He turned to the restaurant owner, who still stood rooted to the spot in shock, and said, "Well, proprietto, how much do we owe you for the window?"

"Figlio di puttana!," the owner said, eyes wide. "Who do you think you are?"

Bowler stepped in to give his two cents.

"We work for the government."

"I don't give a shit who you work for!" he replied, shaking with rage. "You broke my damn store window! Nobody will come in for days now, because they'll think we've been robbed or closed down. Cardboard on the door looks like crap!"

"We said we'd pay for it, now calm down," Rogazzini said, staring the owner down. "We mean what we say."

Bowler looked into his wallet an handed him over one hundred New Canadian Dollars to the disappointed restaurant owner, "Here, for the window."

Are you out of your mind?" the owner screamed. "That's only 35 douros! I'll be happy to take it but if you ever come back, only half the window will be reinstalled."

"I'm sure my friend here can pay for the rest?"

Danielo shrugged. "Sure, whatever," he replied, reaching into his wallet and pulling out a 50-douro note. "Keep the change. That should all fix your window."

The owner stared at the money like he wasn't expecting anything. "Well, grazie, signore, ma io..."

Danielo Rogazzini cut him short. "It was the least we could do for breaking your window."

He turned to Bowler. "Let's find Angela."

Alright as he took out his aviator sunglasses from his blue jean pants and put them on, "Let's roll, Mister Rogazzini!"

Il Monterio
Sundown

Twenty groups of 50 men ran like foxes into the calm dusk of Il Monterio. The sun had just escaped for the day beyond the Sierra mountains to the west. These were PAF men. Operation Hammerdrop, one of many stages in the crushing of the GLNP, was now underway.

Hammerdrop was a solely-Pacitalian operation. It wasn't suggesting that Pacitalia could do the whole thing by themselves - they could, but they wanted support first. The message had to be there.

The teams fanned out and headed for a group of houses two blocks away. The PCIC had been picking up suspected chatter from the area. It had been confirmed on GPS tracking that this was the correct location.

The 1,000 men moved closer and closer now, slowing and crouching ever so gradually until they were in a full monkey crouch at crawl speed. The houses looked desolate and uninhabited, but the PAF men knew that was not true. Inching towards the houses, they stopped behind a grove of orange trees. Then quick as foxes, they pounced.

Doors and windows smashed open.

Fences kicked over.

Flowers trampled.

Garbage cans knocked flying.

=============

Fabio Jureno and Ryano Traffordo de Santiago sat facing opposite directions in a dusty room in the house complex. They were in charge of messengering and communication for the GLNP, this "desolate" house being the talk and networking base for the organization.

The two teenagers sat in their plastic folding chairs, staring blankly at their computer screens. You had to admit, the GLNP was well-organized but they obviously didn't think computers were a priority - Fabio and Ryano sat in front of 9-year-old Windows 95 Pentium-2 terminals with 13" monitors that were barely getting colour out.

Fabio typed in codes relentlessly, communicating with two terrorists in a house on the other side of the city. The two men were going to build a small pipe bomb and detonate it on a residential street during lunch rush. Ryano was using a cell phone to talk to Rodrigo, the leader of the GLNP.

Despite the poor condition of the house, it was rather well insulated and any outside noises wouldn't be heard. But the two teenagers heard the thump.

Then another. Then another. They got progressively louder. Then banging and footsteps followed. Doors began to slam outside. Fabio and Ryano looked at each other nervously. They shut off their computers and switched off the monitors. They found their two pistols, but they were scared as the GLNP had never given them any training whatsoever, so they were basically screwed.

Shit, the light, Fabio thought, glancing at the lamp on his desk. Too late to turn it off, they'll hear us. I'll just have to shoot.

Of course, there were others in the house with training, but they were asleep, and--

BANG.

The door to the room slammed open. Fabio backed up a little, but there wasn't much since he was already against a shelving unit. "Don't shoot me! I will defend myself if you fire!"

Three men rushed Fabio, tackling him. Ryano had opportunities to shoot as the army men didn't see him on the way in, but he just stood there in complete fear. Gun aimed at them, but doing nothing.

Three other men rushed in, further knocking the door forward, slamming it into Ryano. It hit Ryano in the nose, breaking it loudly. Two turned quickly, aiming their machine-guns, shooting Ryano. Blood spattered the becalmed computer monitor. He slumped to the ground and fell flat on his face. The six men listened to loud footsteps on the floor above. Shouts ensued.

They stood up, shot Fabio in the head and ran out of the room. Ruthless, but necessary. This was the GLNP they were getting rid of, after all. It was justified.

A hundred men checked the rest of the bottom floor; another fifty fanned into the basement. One hundred went upstairs. Two more men screamed up the stairs with a bolt-action rifle and a stand. The rest stood guard outside.

The two men set up the B-A rifle quickly, arming it and hooking it to the stand. Bogeys began to flee the house. They were quickly taken care of, of course. This BAR was a powerful piece of machinery, it spared no one. Sputters came from the gun as it took down what looked like fifty bogeys. They lay in the adjacent garden, some over each other, some sprawled over flowerbeds.

Men checked the house to verify that this was a real communications base; let alone the actual main nervous centre.

The house was clean. Others moved into the house and set detonation charges. The house was evacuated of all captures and men, and a safe distance was set.

The plunger was pushed down and the communications nerve centre for the GLNP was destroyed instantly in a fierce implosion. Army men cordoned off the area with gauze fence and wood posts and men stood every 3 metres, guarding the house. The remaining men headed back to base.

Operation Hammerdrop was a success.

A small Army Special Forces team approached a run down house as they pointed their weapons to cover the house, Gunnery Sergeant Peterson looked over to Staff Sergeant Miller, "Staff Sergeant, bring bravo to the rear end of the house and enter on my command! Move it, soldier!"

"Yes sir!" The Staff Sergeant moved his hand gentle swift in the direction they were suppose to go, they slowly jumped over the fence as they pointed their weapons at the point of entry and possible locations of firing points.

The Gunny nodded to the inflitration expert in the member of the charlie squad to open the bust down the door quickly as they entered, "Enter the house!"

The Staff Sergeant went through the backdoor, tripping over a wire and a large scale explosion took place, killing all the men of the Special Forces unit in one single blast, excluding the sniper across the street.

CF OPERATION: BLITZ HQ, ABANDON AIRFIELD
[i]Outsirts of Il Monterio

General Ian Gallagher sat in his green fatigue tent as he looked over documentation for Operation: Blitz, he looked while his right hand man, Colonel James T. Anderson entered with his berrett off his head, "I have a disappointing story.."

General Gallagher stood to his feet and approached the Colonel, "What do you mean, Anderson?"

Colonel Anderson cleared his throats, "The Raptor Unit of the Army Special Forces were blown up when they entered the believed base of operations nearby from our destination. It was boogey trapped."

Gallagher's face turned pale as he looked around and walked slowly behind his desk, then looked over his shoulder at Colonel Anderson, "Get the men together for a small memorial service, Colonel. We have men and women to remind ourselves of."

Anderson nodded his head with a frown, "Yes sir."

Gallagher, "Your dismissed, Colonel."

You're not too late, the war against the GLNP is just getting started; although it looks like it's mostly over, it's not. A lot has been posted, yes, but only a few operations have been completed.

CF OPERATION: BLITZ HQ, ABANDON AIRFIELD
Outsirts of Il Monterio

General Ian Gallagher stepped to the Colonel Anderon's side as they face the flag of the Federal Republic of Canada in honour of the fallen Special Forces Unit who lost their lives after they sang the national anthem, they all saluted the flag. After a moment of silence, General Ian Gallagher turned around to face the service men and women who stood in front of them as he took a deep breath and began to address his men and women under his command, "Eight of our finest have lost their lives on this day, in this operation on foreign soil to get rid of their terrorist cells of the GLNP in this city. The men and women whose lives have and will fall for their country and allies is the greatest honour of death. We'll remember them in their service to their countries and to us. That is all for now. I wish you all the best in this operation and hope it is a success for the Pacitalian people."

CANADIAN FORCES - LAND FORCES HIGH COMMAND
Edmonton, Alberta, Federal Republic of Canada

Chief of Land Forces, General Andrew Paulson stood in his dress uniform as he looked around the briefing room with a frown when he learnt of the explosion that left eight Army Special Forces Assaulters dead. He was not that pleased to hear about this, however he nodded his head as it wasn't as bad then the attack against the CFNS Richmond which the Navy had sent an inquiry into the investigation.

Lieutenant Colonel Roger Grayson aapproached the General in great respect then standing up with a salute, "General sir!"

"At ease, Lieutenant Colonel. Report?" The General asked politely.

"We have recieved condolences from the Pacitalian Military of our losses in their country in the recent explosion, I had communications send them a simple thank you note in return, sir."

"Good... good... anything else on the event?"

"The Canadian National Security Taskforce Investigators believe the place was boogey trapped before the GLNP left the building. The only bodies so far, are the ones we lost sir."

IL MONTERIO SECONDARY SCHOOL - SOUTH IL MONTERIO

Multiple teams of the Canadian National Security Taskforce surrounded the Pacitalian Education Institution as they ready themselves for charging into the school to adequate intelligence reports from the Joint Intelligence Operation between Pacitalian Central Intelligence Commission and the Canadian National Intelligence Agency that there was an assembly current in process of deputy heads of the GLNP, telling the students of their prosperous lifestyle they could have under a GLNP Government.

Major Howard Bennett looked over to Sergeant Paulson, "Sergeant surround the auditorium, right now. Within five minutes all teams must enter. They must not fire unless they are fired upon and watch where they are firing. We do not want to kill any, young Pacitalians."

Five minutes later...

Canadian National Security Taskforce Teams stormed the auditorium armed with various sub-machine guns; Colt M16s, H&K MP5s and H&K HK53s. They wore kaliver (sp?) bullet proof armoured vest and helmets.

A team entered into the front as they went through, assisting the auditorium staff outside, members of GLNP armed with AK47s turned around. The leader of a CNSTF team spoke, "Drop your weapons, raise your hands on top of your head and lower to your knees. We do not want to fire at you."

They refused as the began to fire, the team took cover as their leader spoke again, "Take them out but do not kill them."

OOC: Btw, for everyone that doesn't know - we're RPing these events as happening before the RB-Sarzonia war, just to make it have a little sense

Senior Deputy Prime Minister Nikos Karagounis walked briskly into the Prime Minister's office, holding a printout. He handed it to the Prime Minister, who took it and began to read.

He read aloud. "CNSTF agents stormed a school... GLNP telling students about benefits of terrorism... CNSTF attempted to get them out of the school peacefully but they refused... fire exchanged?! Shit! Any students hurt?"

"We don't know yet."

"Dammit, I'm going to have to talk to President Wittrock about this one," Ell replied. "I don't remember anyone giving the CNSTF authorisation to walk into a secondary school with semi-automatics to get the GLNP."

He opened his email client and was about to start an email to President Wittrock of the FRC but instantaneously an email from the director of the PCIC popped up in his inbox.

"The school idea was a joint operation between the PCIC and the CNSTF. Don't worry about it, Tim, you can yell at me if you want to."

He glared at the screen for a while, but then thought to himself, As long as no one civilian is hurt in this little incident, I'm not going to raise a red flag.

He went back to his paperwork.

OOC: The Canadian National Intelligence Agency and the Canadian National Security Taskforce are two completely different entities. The Canadian National Security Taskforce is basically the Royal Canadian Mountain Police. the CNSTF has special forces teams, however they are non-military. The same goes with the CNIA. They take are of blackops and other such fun things that go with Intelligence. The CNIA worked with the PCIC on establishing the CNSTF to operate on this mission because it is believed that a high ranking GLNP member is present as the school's special public speaker.

Presently in the lobby....

The armed GLNP men were apprehended and placed to the side as the Teams Leader spoke over the radio, "This is Bravo Leader to Ops, We have apprehended four armed GLNP in the lobby, requesting for another team for extraction."

"We here you Bravo Team, we are sending in Gamma Team to extract the enemies, continue to your poistioning, keep civilians out of harm way at all cost. One civilian, the mission is a complete failure."

Meanwhile in the back room of the auditorium...

Alpha Team slowly crawled into the back room of the auditorium where students or performers would practice or ready themselves for going on stage. The team of eight splitted up in twos as they went through different ways to the stage.

Gamma Extraction Team entered the lobby as they forcefully brought the GLNP sentries out of the Auditorium to a secure location with armed Soldiers stood by as they watched them carefully, "Gamma Leader to Bravo Leader.."

Bravo Team Leader, "Bravo Leader here, Gamma."

"Sentries have been extracted."

"Confirmed."

Bravo Team began walking slowly up the stairwell as they went to the upper balcony to get on the metal walkthrough on the top of the auditorium so they could pin point the high ranking GLNP official, to apprehend him with no casualties.

Meanwhile at Emergency Exit...

Delta Team kneeled quietly waiting for their code word, affirmative to storm into the auditorium, knock out the guards and escort the students out of the area.

Presently on the scaffolding

Bravo Team slowly got to their poistioning as they began to tire their repelling wire to go to onto the stage to apprehend their designated target, because it'd be a critical blow to the recruitment drive and operations of the GLNP.

The Bravo Team Leader quietly talked through his headset, "Bravo Team ready in poistion."

"Confirmed, Bravo Leader!" Delta Leader shouted.

"Confirmed, Bravo Leader!" Alpha Leader shouted.

"Are Teams in placed and ready?"

Alpha Leader responded, "Confirmed."

Bravo Team quickly finished setting their repelling wire in order as they hook it to their harnessess as the Bravo Leader talked over his mic of the radio, "Bravo Team Leader here, on my mark we inflitrate the main auditorium."

Alpha, "Affirmative."

Delta, "Affirmative.

The Bravo Leader looked at his seven men as they nodded their heads that they were ready, "GO!"

Bravo Team repelled quickly to the surface as Delta Team bursts through the fire exit door, one of the men entering the auditorium pulls the emergency fire bell for the students to leave the auditorium, a Delta Team member quickly rifle butts one of the GNLP as he pays his attention on Bravo Team.

The sub groups of Team Alpha ran through their main areas as they shot quickly at the sentries in locations to destablize. As Bravo Team made a box around the GLNP High Ranking Official with the Team Leader inbetween them, he quickly zapped the mans hands behind his back and said over his radio, "We got kingpin."

As other sentries came by as they started to fire, a student was in the cross fire. A member of the Delta Team quickly ran as he jumped across the Sentrie's bullets bursted downward across the member's throat.

Delta Team Leader, "Member down! Evacuate the students and teachers now! Asking assistance for Alpha Team. We suggest Bravo Team to meet secondary extraction point."

Bravo Team Leader nodded his head, "Affirmed, good decision Delta."

Bravo Team Leader nodded his head to his men as he quietly said, "Move out, extraction beta."

The men slowly walked backwards to Alpha Team's infiltration point as Alpha quickly covered Bravo Team.

As the students and the teachers were being assisted out of the auditorium, another sentry began to fire as another team member quickly pushed the student down and took the shot through his bullet proof armour right through.

"Member down!"

OOC: By this point Pacitalia... you have an intelligence report on your desk of the Canadian Operation at the High School. The High Ranking Official was succesfully apprehended, so was the rest of the sentries that have been quickly brought to a Canadian Military Hospital. And the Official is rating for questioning by the PCIC and the CNIA. No students or teachers were killed, only one of the Canadian CNSTF Members were killed, the other is severe condition.

Prime Minister Ell stared at the confidential report on his desk. Its contents, printed on glossy paper, lay neatly on the open manila folder, full of glare because the sheets were catching the warm rays of early evening sun.

Mission Update

Signore Prime Minister, we are pleased to inform you that the supposed high ranking official of the GLNP that was speaking at Il Monterio Secondary School was succesfully apprehended, along with his sentry guards. The downed sentries were taken to the military hospital on the Canadian base outside the city. We are also happy to note that this apprehended official is primed for questioning and interrogation by Canadian authorities. Most importantly, it is our pleasure to note that no students or teachers were killed or injured in this takedown mission by the Canadian National Security Taskforce. Sadly, we must report one fatality in the CNSTF. Another is critically injured and remains at the same military hospital on the FRC base. However, this capture of said high-ranking official who is yet to be identified is a major step of the disintegration of this terrorist organisation.

He turned to his computer, smiling and opened his email client.

To: President Anthony R. Wittrock
From: Prime Minister Timothy Ell

No doubt you have heard of the successful mission by the CNSTF in a secondary school in the city of Il Monterio. However, I must send my condolences as I have been informed of a fatality in the taskforce that occurred during the mission. He was a brave man that served proudly for the Federal Republic of Canada; there is no doubt he deserves some sort of recognition or honour for his efforts in further collapsing the GLNP until we can pull the final support out from underneath them.
