It had been nearly a year since the Armed Republic of Hyperlight had assisted in the last acigoo outbreak (don't worry, it's not in this time) and they had finally built up their forces once again, with their powerful and newly uprated again trio of battleships leading the way, The RHS Kep Salu, RHS Reliant, and RHS Defender.

But, on their first voyage beyond the solar system, they found something. Something that definately did NOT come in peace.


"Report!"

"The Reliant reports her main engines are down, retreating back to earth with her backup saucer drive. Defender is moving to block the way farther into the system." The bridge of the Kep Salu shuddered under the latest barrage, and Captian Richardson, formerly the president of his nation before he turned it over to Davison, his longtime partner, and now commander of the exploration forces winced at the report.

"Provide cover for her, and try and make contact." Two months out from earth, they had found something on the edge of the solar-system, a craft of unidentifiable origination, with what appeared to be a FLT drive. It was definately unusual in design, something like a preditor going for a kill. When they had scanned the drive, no, they had asked if the ship needed assistance in every language, and it just opened up a can of destruction upon them, crippiling the Kep Salu's sister ship, the Reliant. All Richardson knew now was that they had to get back to warn earth. "If you can't, prepare for a retreat. Earth has to be warned. And we have to get upgraded again, time for lightspeed...."

(If anyone wants to join in, go ahead. Experience preferred. As is, don't worry about me putting some kind of warp drive in on my ships, we've got to analyze our readings.)

It was merely by chance the the Omni, a Eugorian Fator Class Frigate stumbled upon the ships being assaulted by an unidentified ship. But luckily, the Eugorians knew what the ship was. It was a Chi Dokopar, designed specifically for the exploration of the galaxy so that the plague could assilmilate more races. They were the sworn enemies of the Eugorian Empire, but according to the Code of War, they could not act without a request. The captain of the Omni, James Isington, sent out a message on all frequencies.

"Ship under fire in the Ktuhu'lu sector, do you require assistance from us to help fend off the Chi? We are the ship Omni of the Eugorian Space Defense Force and wish to aid you against the plague that is called Chi."

"Sir, receiving a offer of assistance."

"Put a channel on with them." The Kep Salu shuddered under the assault, her running lights begining to flicker as shots finally were making it to the hull. The communications officer nodded that he was on. "This is the Hyperlight Republic ship RHS Kep Salu, we definately need your assistance. We aren't making much of a scratch in these guys, and we can't take much more!"

"Roger," Isington replied, "We will open fire now. Pull back to a safe range."

With that, he ordered the weapons crew to charge the Hyperion Heavy Circular Rail gun and listened as the usual hum of the engines grew dull as the power was redirected to the magnets for the giant gun. Soon a emmense titanium rod would be flung at speeds faster than two million miles per hour at the unfortunate Dokopar that was firing at the Hyperlightian ships. after two minutes had passed, a massive THWACK resounded through out the ship as the magnets repolarized and sent the rod flying. Isington watched as it flew and then turned away before impact, as he always did. The mass destruction that would follow would sicken him.

(Dude, my ships are equipped with the latest in weaponry, like phased energy guns. And anti-matter warhead torpedos. Stuff strong enough to give acigoo a run for it's money, and you think a rail gun is gonna stop something that anti-matter couldn't stop?)

"Sir, that rail gun did next to nothing."

"Figures, back to earth, maxium thrust. We need to get the shipyards ready for war."

OOC: You say that you have anti-matter, but you have never said that before. Also, you say, "maxium thrust" to earth. If you have not even discovered FTL, which if you have, let me know, then how could you have anti-matter? Much farther ahead. And, if indeed we do agree that it is a Chi ship, then I know that my railgun would destroy it, for it has before. Archenemies remember.

An unfortunate Mirfakan cargo vessel isn't fast enough to escape the crossfire and is destroyed by a single blast from the alien weapons battery.

(No, small amounts of antimatter have already been created on earth. Not much, but, we found a way to make large quantitys of it and harness the reactions. And, yes, I should have probably put the specs for my ship up, but I have to find them again. The last rp I did dissapeared.)

OOC: Alright then, what should I do in the mean time?

"Captain Juwska! Sir, one of our patrol droids has just sent a message." Juwska walked over to the tech's station area and watched as a playback of what the droid had picked up. One alien looking ship was attacking three others with great succes, then another came from nowhere and shot was a large piece of metal('Such petty tactics, thought Juwska') blowing a large hole in it and causing it to be destroyed.

"How long since this message was sent?"
"It was sent 5 standard hours ago sir, the droid was destroyed sir, most likely an astroid or meteor shower."

Juwska nodded. "Send another three droids at once, and have all those ships tagged and followed. We will view the situation and I will send a report to Admiral Alabar." The tech nodded and started deploying three more droids into hyperspace. Juwska walked back to the main veiw window, and looked off the deck of his SI cruiser(Shadaum-class cruiser).

ooc: It depends. With the enourmous amount of kinetic energy in the rail gun projectile, it would most likely, with its mass, momentum, and energy, pierce the enemy vessel. Or at least make a nice dent.

But, if we could call it a Corvette of the Great Evil, it would greatly help me with an RP I'm planning with a fellow nation. Y'all can join in when it starts.

I so long for a good RP where I'm not fighting any other nation... besides, this works out perfectly for me...

IC:

"Cap'n, we've received a Priority Omega message from Fleet Command. The sensor station on Deutsche has detected an enemy vessel 5,000 lightyears from our position. They are ordering that we Fold to intercept and destroy this vessel." The look on the Commander's face went blank. He stared at the screen, eyes fixed on a single sentace.

As he spoke, the Commander crossed the bridge, handing a small chip to the imposing man reclining in the Captain's chair.

"How could any of our civilian sensor stations detect an enemy ship that far away," the captain queried as his second in command relinquished the datacrystal.

The Captain grasped the chip and planted it into the base of his Holopanel. His eyes flicked back and forth as he read the message. They too froze, staring with such fear, at five words.

"Why," he whispered, his voice quavering, "would they send us to attack them? They know we will surely die!"

The F.M.S.V. Interdictor appeared in a brilliant flash of light. It was scarcely a hundred miles from the Great Evil corvette.

Brilliant beams of multi-colored light lashed out at the vessel of the Great Evil. The particle beams impacted upon the surface, yet did not boil away the armor of the enemy ship.

Torpedoes, missiles, even PPCs were flung at the vessel, but there seemed to be little or no effect.

It was at this point, when the Captain had only the most powerful weapons of the Federation left to use, that he noticed the presence of other ships. He, and the entire crew, had been too preoccupied with the vessel of the ancient enemy of the Ancestors.

"Comm, open a channel to all vessels in the area." He cleared his throat, using those valuable seconds to formulate some kind of greeting and warning.

"This is the Federal Battlecruiser Interdictor. We have attempted to destroy the vessel of the Great Evil, but to no avail. There are more powerful weapons in our aresenal, but before we deploy them, we warn all ships to steer clear of any and all shockwaves. If any vessels require immediate assistance, we can launch fighter escort."

As the Captain finished his message, a lone beam struck the ship, draining the shields. Systems collapsed, bulkheads breached. The Bridge vaporized.

On the Secondary Command Bridge:

Commander Haverson held his head in his hands. Does the Great Evil still seek vengence upon the Ancestors and their descendants? What power could cause this? Our ships are great! How could this have happened...

He realized as he lamented the time he was wasting. He was now in command of the Interdictor. He willed himself up, straightened out his jacket, and set his face in grim determination. They will pay, he thought.

"Fire the QGSD Cannon, arm the QGSD Torpedoes!" He quickly consulted a Holopanel, checking the few weapons systems that still operated. He inhaled deeply, his throat trembling, and resumed shouting orders. "Recharge the PPCs, and ready the Temporal Erasure Beam. Fire all weapons on my mark."

Now all he had to do was wait for the other vessels, hopefully friendly, to clear away from the Great Evil corvette.

"Jeeze louize!"

"What?" The ship shuddered, then he saw what was going on, a massive free-for-all was developing behind them. "Okay, get us back to pluto, then arm the torpedos. Prepare for a full spread. See if you can get full power to the cannons, like back when we had that nasty acigoo incident."

"Sir, something coming in from earth..."

"Yeah?"

"It's the new gunship, the Yamato."

"They got that new varient of the cannons?"

"I hope so. They just ducked behind pluto, falling into an escort position beside the Reliant."

"Okay then. All hands, hang onto your hats, we're in for a bumpy ride." Richardson sat down in the helm, and got them the heck to slightly safer territory, and prepared to get a few upgrades, to fight back.

"Commander," a cry came from Science, "The other vessels are at a great enough range to avoid Temporal and Gravometric shockwaves. We may now Jump to a safe distance and fire weapons."

Haverson moved to action. He did not even relay orders to the Helm. The Commander rerouted all weapons and helm control to his own Holopanel and Command Console. He plotted a Jump, powered up the Drive, and executed.

The Federal warship instantly (to a human) appeared some 1,000 miles away. As soon as it had fully returned to Normal Space, Temporal and String Disruptor beams pierced through the void, straight toward the Great Evil corvette. String Disruptor torpedoes bolted from their tubes and impacted upon the enemy hull.

Everone on the SCB of the Interdictor gasped in awe. Only a few meters of the enemy ship had been disrupted or erased from time.

"How could this be," an inexperienced enlisted man wondered aloud what all were thinking.

Haverson recovered from his daze sooner than his crew. "Well, it's something. Continue firing away until we destroy the whole damned thing."

"Sir, their weapons had no to little effect."

"Prepare for long range torpedo launches. Ready those new quantum sigularity torpedos."

"heh, aye sir, loading big bertha now."

"Fire." Richardson smiled an evil smile as the blue streak of destruction left the forward hull of his ship. But, it faded when the torpedo did only minor damage. "Keep firing, let's put all we have into this conflict. I think things are going to get rougher yet. All ships, lock on target and fire."

"Aye sir." The clangs of multiple torpedo launches rang throughout the ship...
