4/6/12: NEW SEATTLE – (Radio Broadcast) the President of Pernica announced today his intentions of adding the territory of Utah to the growing nation of Pernica. He was quoted saying after receiving countless threats from the weak and surprisingly hostile Mormon Theocracy of Utah to seize Nevada it was necessary to pacify the nation. The president made it clear however that more importantly it would finally put an end to the door to door Mormon missionaries. Soon after the announcement a barrage of bombings ensued destroying many of the known military complexes of Utah. Minor losses reported due to enemy incompetence and inexperience.

4/8/12: NEW SEATTLE – (Radio Broadcast) Pernican forces numbering at 250,000 passed through Nevada and crossed over the border into Utah. General Carther reported no resistance besides for the few small pockets of militia and was able to cover 70 miles into Utah putting him just over 200 miles of Utah Capital; Salt Lake City. He was later heard saying that the newly reformed Pernican Intelligence Agency believed that many Utah soldiers had deserted the army knowing they were fighting an impossible war.

4/11&12/12: NEW SEATTLE – (Radio Broadcast) The Pernican military encountered it’s first significant resistance however the battle was short lived as most weaponry of Utah came from old ammo depots and deserted military complex’s left over from the United States.

4/17/12: NEW SEATTLE – (Radio Broadcast) in today’s news the Pernican military reached the outskirts of Salt Lake City. General Carther reported that resistance is steadily increasing as Mormon radicals still loyal to the collapsing theocracy are becoming increasingly fanatic.

4/20/12: NEW SEATTLE: After a three day battle of urban combat in the Streets of Salt Lake City, General Carther triumphantly strode into the evacuated Capital building of Utah. With the Central Government of Utah now collapsed it is believed that minor force will be required to cause the rest of Utah to submit under Pernican rule.

5/4/12: NEW SEATTLE – (Radio Broadcast) The Pernican President declared the initial conquest phase over the invasion over however he was quoted saying that the next phase will be long and hard.

5/17/12: NEW SEATTLE – (Radio Broadcast) a small convoy carrying medical supplies was ambushed today leaving a total of 16 casualties, 5 dead. The attack began with a series of IED’s followed by a barrage of RPG’s and rifle fire.

5/23/12: NEW SEATTLE – (Radio Broadcast) Over the past week 102 soldiers have been killed and 431 wounded. As a result the President declared that the hostility of the people of Utah would be responded to equally as harshly. Authorized by the President General Carther has declared an even stricter martial law to increase control of the territory.

The following books, doctrines, sermons, and publications have been forbidden. All copies of the following are expected to be brought to designated book drop areas by June 1st. All those found in violation after this date we be arrested and jailed for 1 month and likely questioned as to the location of the more illegal publications.

Many Mormon leaders have been rounded up and executed or deported to Northern Alaska. Those that violate the newly instated Pernican law on multiple accounts will also be deported to Northern Alaska.

Mormon temples across the state were demolished and the general population is under going a series of re-educational classes proving once and for all why their religion makes no sense. Newly found atheism is encouraged and will be rewarded. However Pernica will also allow ex Mormons to join other appropriate religious communities. The Pernica people were overjoyed to know the horror of the door to door Mormon Missionaries had finally come to an end.

6/1/12: NEW SEATTLE – the contraband books were burnt today in the streets. As a result riots rocked the streets of major cities of Utah. After an entire night of blood shed thousands of Mormons lay dead along with dozens of Pernican soldiers. As a result re-education efforts were stepped up and a regional curfew to the troubled areas of Utah was instated. Unsure what to do with the situation the Pernican President issued a continental request for assistance in pacifying the efforts. He admitted that Pernican being new to occupation was requesting advice on how to best deal with such situations.

What an outrage! How dare you! Why do you invade a soverign nation that has the right to be independent. How dare you dictate a torrent of atheism at these people. We ourselves have atheism as an our "religion", but people are free to worship as they choose.

OOC: this thread is partially due to the fact that IRL my house in under attack by Mormons that come by like 3 days a week trying to give me copies of that stupid book of Mormon!

We too believe in Freedom of Religion however some religions have been deemed clearly incorrect. Pernica has a long list of authorized religions including all branches of Islam, judaism. most sects of Christianity, Budhist, shintoism, budhism, Bahi and many Chinese philosphies. However the use of missionaries is strictly forbidden.

We have deemed the Mormon religion completely unacceptable as it conflicts with our nations consitution and is completely ludicrous. Therefore we have no use for this religion within our borders.

Many have converted away from Mormonism as it was forced upon them after the formation of the Mormon Theocracy, a very sexist a corrupted regime. However a large (42%) stubborn minority remains loyal to the Church of Latter Day Saints. It is our belief that by the destruction of the Mormon religion within Utah will lead to the eventual collapse of resistance in Utah.

Yerffej officially closes its colonial borders (the Mexican state of Chihuahua) to any Mormon refugees.

Any illegal aliens found in Chihuahua or North Carolina will be jailed or exiled.

As asked before, what right do you have to invade their nation!? When did they do something to you?

Actually in RL my mother is a Mormon, but I am not. I suppose this must be an American thing :p . In Britain Mormons hardly ever recruit and when they do they respect the other persons religion. They also know when to stop recruiting...

Waging war against a country due to its religion is a unforgivable crime. Jangia must therefore join the side of Dimmimar, and condemn your unjust reign. Jangia therefore announces trade embargoes against pernica.

Grand Senator Stevens approuched the podium to adress his fellow Senators.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have just recieved word that the nation of Jangia that they have cut off all trade between the two of us.

Yes we know that the loss of 1.2 million in exports in 3000 dollars in imports will have zero effect on our economy but we cannot deny that this has been the second nation now to come forth and attack our methods of dealing with the situation in Utah...

However what is puzzling to us is how yet another nation has somehow interpreted this as a "religous" war.

The head of the Senate began cut him off, "Senator Stevens, we all know these leftist nations have no understanding of occupations, and clearly Jangia in particular lacks analitical skills as well. We all know this war is hardly religous, as religous affairs are rarely ever of Pernica's concern."

Our efforts in Utah are not due to a hatred of the Mormon religion. We grew tired of the loud yet empty threats of the unstable theocracy in control of Utah. However a large minority of remaining loyalists to the now collapsed theocracy find their source of passion and fuel to go on in their religion of Mormonism. In order to break they're spirit and will to go on we destroy what drives them. If the Mormon resistance were to end at this very moment the decomposing of the religion would end. However as this is highly unlikely we will continue unless a more viable option is present.

The Southern California Republic, while irked by yet another power barging into our sphere of influenece, fundamentally finds nothing wrong with the Pernican actions. The Mormons have long recognized as providing little value to the community and are frankly to dangerous to let run free.
