::Premiere Carmine exits the plane with Jenny, Watson, Ramsus, and a few guards. Carmine has been talking to Watson::
Carmine: ...talk to Ulonov about that. Why didn't you say something about it earlier?
Watson: Well, I didn't think it was a big deal?
Carmine: A big deal?!? You know full well who their allied with! You know full well what's going to happen!
Watson: Well they've been busy with... ::He is stopped by the MadderMike security. They stop him and run a metal detector over him. He smiles as it goes all over him without so much as a beep. The guards grab him::
Guard: All right sir, we're going to have to look in your bags.
Watson: What?
Guard: Our detectors show that you aren't carrying a gun.
Watson: Well of course I'm... ::Jenny steps up. She tosses her hair back as she grins at the guards::
Jenny: You'll have to excuse him. He's never been here. What he meant to say was that he needs to get a standard issue weapon for visitors.
Guard: ::The guard looks her up and down and smiles back:: Well why didn't he just say so? ::They walk over to a locker where there are guns stacked to the top. The guard grabs one and gives it to Watson::
Watson: So do I need bullets for this?
Guard: ::shakes his head at Watson. It was obvious this guy really didn't know a lot about this place:: The gun's already loaded.
Watson: Oh...
Carmine: Thank you sir. Now let's find our hotel room. I have some last minute things to write up...

Gen. Patton as well as several army hangerons arrive in MadderMike and greet Embassador Anna Brinkley of the Featherstonian Embassy in MadderMike. At the airport, they prepare to pass through the metal detectors, and Gen. Patton is anxious.
Gen. Patton: So your saying that we not only are authorized to carry this much firepower, you're saying it's normal?
Embassador Brinkley: I'm saying that it's required by law and ettiquite to carry as much firepower as you are able.
Gen. Patton and his 3 army men are carrying the FA equivalent of a SAW each, with ammo belts draped across their bodies. The Barrel (tank) they brought over is going through customs to make sure it has the proper number of AP and HE rounds to qualify for MM's strict emissions standards, and the Daniel Boone Nuclear Bazooka Launcher/Jeep that Gen. Patton will be driving himself is getting "Oohs and Aahs" from the crouds standing by the airports AA cannon (used to clear birds from the runway)/fireing range.
Gen. Patton: I hope we're not to late. Let's hurry and get this over with.
Embassador Brinkley: Okay... Does this MP-5K make me look fat?
Gen. Patton: Um... Of cource not.

*In the Andaluciaen Delegations common room, the diplomats plan their course of action*
Grand Admiral Scheer: OK, now we've been discussing this for a while, but let's come to a consensus. We are certain that FA is just pretending that this is a conference in which they want US to surrender to THEM. And that it's really THEM surrendering to US.
*The men in the room all come to an agreement that it is so*
Major Schnitt: Well, the situation certainly isn't one in which we'd be surrendering. We have HO and Edenstein on our side of the table, our militaries are superior to FA's, we've got about 2 million FA soldiers cut off from supplies deep in the heart of Andaluciae and we're hammering their fleet like there's no tomorrow.
Major Jones: On the other hand FA still has a sizable nuclear weapons cache...
Dr. Thomas: Yes, but so do we. And I suspect Edenstein and HO do as well.
Grand Admiral Scheer: Whatever, so we assume a more aggressive stance at the table? Go for a canal zone segment and all?
*the group nods in agreement*
Grand Admiral Scheer: Then it's settled.

Mike Rice newly appointed Under-Secretary of State waddles up to the main conference room of the Michaelgrad Hilton. His enormous beer gut preceeds him into the room. He looks around and sees that there are just a few underlings standing around waiting for their respective delegations to arrive.
"Ahem" He says to get everyone's attention. "Just some reminders of the accommodations." He announces and proceeds to tell everyone of the time that breakfast and lunch are served and that everyone is on their own for dinner. He explains the main conference room is sound proofed and the exterior walls are bullet proof as well. He did caution that bullets will ricochet off the bullet proof walls. He further explained that due to some production issues that the sale of 9mm ammo is restricted to 500 rounds per day per person. He expressed his sincere apologies on that issue and explained that as visiting dignitaries, they could purchase 1,000 rounds per day by showing their badges.
He explained that most of MadderMike was underground and the surface was used as farmland airfields, and freeways. He advised that walking about on the surface was discouraged as there were wandering bands of Gypsies who shoot first and ask questions later. He did explain that shooting these Gypsies was considered public service.

::Watson sits around with Jenny waiting for Carmine to come down. As he sits and looks around nervously he sees a very large man enter and begin explaining some things::
Watson: 500 rounds per day... why would someone need more than that?
Jenny: Actually while 500 rounds a day is usually more than enough, at political talks and things of that nature, it's common to use 500 rounds just in the meeting alone. People often complain that they don't have any left for when they go through the drive through afterwards.
Watson: I just can't believe that I know this little about this country. I've read up and become very knowledgeable about most other LETI countries...
Jenny: You may want to get familar fast or you'll be shot. ::She giggles, leaning back in her chair to laugh. Watson's face turns red, and he sits with a puzzled look on his face::
Watson: What's so funny?
Jenny: Oh come on! You'll get shot anyway! I was making a joke! On a more serious note, do you have all your stuff with you?
Watson: Not everything, I left some things in the room.
Jenny: Go get it. If it's not already gone, it will be by the time we get back. ::Noticing the surprise on Watson's face, Jenny grins:: If you couldn't guess, crime here is so high it's normal. In fact, so high that it's almost considered trading by our standards. You find your stuff is stolen, find someone else's stuff that strikes your fancy.
Watson: What if you get caught?
Jenny: Caught? By whom?

*Grand Admiral Scheer enters the room, his entry is neither grand nor all that obvious, he just walks over to his seat and sits down, all the while looking very grey.*
Dr. Thomas: *already in the room, with a deer-in-headlights look on his face* Sir...did you hear that? Why on earth would anyone need that much ammo?
GA Scheer: Yes, it doesn't worry me. I'll try to maintain calm at this table though...
*just to be certain he sets his briefcase on his lap and opens it, flipping up the false bottom to check the MP-5*
Major Schnitt: Nice room...sturdy table...
GA Scheer: Ah, so, here I am at the peace conference table. I'm glad that this could even occur, what with the nuclear exchange that occured.
*opens the briefcase, searches the papers
Major Schnitt: Yes, we were all very worried at the beginning, but we're alive.
*A courier rushes into the room carrying the latest news from the front, gives the dispatch to Scheer*
GA Scheer: Thank you.

Gen. Patton walks into the conference room, while Embassador Brinkly performs the MadderMikian custom of diving under the table and sweaping the room for hostiles. Finding none but the diplomats, she lays her AN-94/grenade launcher on the table and sits down. One of the aids attempts to copy her manuver, but years behind the desk makes it clumsy, causeing some of the Mikain workers bringing in water for the delegates to snicker ruefully.
The table has been arranged in a "U" patern, with all the chairs facing the only entrence into or out of the room, as the Mikian hosts had an eye for safety in the negotiations. Gen. Patton had already exchanged gunfire with no fewer than 3 passing cars on the way in, and was pretty sure one was a successful kill. His aids had ramed a Troop Carrier who's soccer kid passengers and soccermom driver were taking pot shots at the tank, forcing them to button down. Gen. Patton hoped they made it out of that ditch okay.
Sitting down, he could see the Andaluciaen delegates as well as the Henceland Omega delegates, who had beaten him there. "Figures," he thought as he saw their smug expressions. "They think they have beat..." he chuckled. "And where's Edenstein's guy. I'll bet it's Lt. Gen. Zophia, Emperor Ed can't take a piss without sending her first to check if their's toilet paper." He secretly admired the woman, but the rumors of her and... Rikuku was it? Any way you looked at it he wanted to be the third wheel in that.
But back to business, he glared across the room at the other delegates. It would start soon, and he needed a defiant face. They'd try to shame him and his country, no doubt about that. But he was commited to getting as much as he could out of it, and cheat if he had to on some of the worse stuff. With luck, and a little bit of inertia, he could have everything he wanted if he played his cards right...

::Carmine watches eerily as the FA delegates walk in and sit down at the conference table. He narrows his eyes as he realizes something. He grunts softly::
Watson: Sir? What's the problem?
Carmine: Notice who isn't here yet.
Watson: I'm well aware the Edenstein delegates haven't arrived, but I have their full assurance they were coming to the meeting.
Carmine: Who's coming? Is it Ulonov?
Watson: Um, I don't think so. He's in charge of the Izimbeckwi deployment, so they're sending someone else.
Carmine: Hmm. Is that so?
Ramsus: Sir, are you suspicious of Edenstein?
Carmine: Not quite suspicious. I'm a little... concerned about the Emperor. I wonder if he isn't slowly starting to lose it...
::Jenny jumps up from under the table, as she has finished doing her own sweep of the floor. Having found nobody except Ambassador Brinkly under there, she sits down next to Watson::
Jenny: So, have you shot anyone yet?
Watson: Heavens no!
Jenny: Heh. I shot one of the bellboys on the way down. He was checking me out, and then lied about it.
Watson: ::tries to contain his horror:: You shot him for looking at you?
Jenny: Oh no. I have no problem with people looking at me. ::She giggles:: I know they can't help themselves. But they need to at least have the balls to admit it...
Watson: This is going to be a long meeting...

Major Schnitt: This is very very odd...I have seen no sign of the delegation from Edenstein...
Major Jones: I'm starting to get nervous...did they anger their driver or something?
Dr. Thomas: I hope it's just that their plane is late...
Major Schnitt: Yes...that would be the best situation for now.
Major Jones: Maybe we should go off and ask that Secretary of State, Mike Rice, if he has any idea.
*Grand Admiral Scheer sets down his drink and buts in*
GA Scheer: Ok, stop worrying and speculating. I'm certain they'll be here, just give them time. Hell, I'm ordered to see if I can rent out the hotel for another year if needed.

Gen. Patton found himself drifting off while waiting for Edenstein's delegates to show up. He quickly recovered and waved a servant over with his SAW. The servant approached, carefully, his hand on his holster.
"Get me some booze, and a round for the whole table. Wainright City Vodka if you have it, Edenstein Vodka if you don't. And some of your local brew for my aids. Can't have them drunk. And if you would... slip these into the other delegates drinks."
He descretely hands the servant a stack of pills, with big letters on the package reading in Latin "Horse Tranquilizer".
"They're multivitamines, some of them don't look well nourished enough."

Mike Government: Empress! General! We've been waiting for days! Why are you so late?
Empress Carolyn: I am so sorry, sir. We were stuck in a huge blizzard. I don't know if you have seen the weather, but Edenstein has been buried by a freak storm for the past week.
Onotov: All communication frequencies have been jumbled as well.
Mike: Interesting. How could the weather be so different in Edenstein? It has been cold here, but we haven't had any snow.
Carolyn: I don't know. I wonder if there is someone manipulating the weather.
*Mike and Onotov laugh*
Carolyn: I'm serious! There could be an evil scientific weather GENIUS in our midst! Don't underestimate their power! And don't shoot me because I have a freaking bulletproof corset on!!
Mike: I heard she had a baby. Do you think her hormones could still be out of whack from that?

Mike wanders back to the bar and finds some Wainright City Vodka in the freezer. He pulls the bottle out and adds some glasses and ice cubes in an insulated bucket. Pocketing the tranquilizers he soaks the last of his LSD into the drinks. That should do it.
He wanders back and sets up the drinks.

Just outside the conference room door someone could be heard shouting "You will do you jobs or I'll shoot you right here." followed by several loud gunshots obviously from a large caliber pistol.
Mike "Little Sniveler" Gotti soon arrives pushing a large food cart heaped up with fruits, vegetables and all the fixings for sandwitches. The cart is followed by four very unhappy looking lackeys. The last one is bleeding from a superfical wound to his arm. The third lackey is patching him up.
Little Sniveler explains this is the lunch cart. The four lackeys are food tasters. He explains they are new immigrants to MadderMike and if they survive the week they will be farmed out to the factories. He tells the delegates to point to what they want tasted and the nearest lackey will taste it. If not shoot him and the next lackey will taste the meal.
Gotti goes on to explain this is not usually necessary but with the tensions involved with the peace process the management decided to provide the service. Another cart arrives with drinks and two more lackeys.

Gen. Patton takes up the Vodka, and pretends to take a casual sip of it. He motioned to his men, who were busy doing the same to theirs. Patton hoped that he had his own untainted, but better to be safe than sorry. Covertly, he unscrewed a flask in his jacket, and emptied the booze into it, and replaced it with another flask. He looked over at his aids, and the diplomat, who were changing thiers covertly as well, all but one young captain, the proverbial fall guy. Good he thought They'd have to know what I was doing to notice it
Now they'll never blaim it on me, who would poison one of their own delegates... he thought, chuckling. "Well let's get down to busness now that everyone is here. As the interim leader of Patton's America, I would like to end the fighting that was perpetrated by my predecessor, and once again have peace between the two lakes. As such, you can imagine, I am willing to make large concessions in the way of sphere's of influence in my lake and elsewhere in order to secure such a peace.
Now, I have no idea what you fine upstanding members of your respective delegations came here today to get, or even if you were expecting this to be a waste of your time, but I swear that I am willing to do what it takes inorder to secure peace in our lifetime. You there, get some grape juice for our fine Andaluciaen friends. I propose a toast, to LETI! May it always be well protected by gentlemen and ladies as fine as yourself." And with that, he gulped down the liquer in his glass, as did all the others in his party.
"Now," he said, with a giant sencere smile. "I'd like to hear what it is you want from me."

*Grand Admiral Scheer directs a lackey to make a sandwich with mustard, roast beef and cheese. At which point Scheer demands the lackey taste the sandwich. Which the lackey does, and then sets it before Scheer, who commands the lackey to stand still for a while, and Scheer also lets the sandwich sit, then he begins to speak to the room.*
GA Scheer: First I'd like to thank the government of Maddermike and the Michaelgrad Hilton for allowing us to hold this conference. Now, I believe we all know what the current situation is, with about 3 million FA soldiers surrounded in Andaluciae, and a naval engagement occuring right now as well. So what do we want?
We want FA to repay for all damages caused by it's initial nuclear strike to the Andaluciaen homeland, I might add we are also willing to pay for damages caused by our retaliatory strike.
We want a fairly wide canal zone in which to construct our own canal, as it is vital to the interests of the Andaluciaen Empire to have direct sea contact between Andaluciae and Fijar all under Andaluciaen control.
In return we will ensure the safety and well being of the surrounded FA troops and break off our naval forces immediately.
We'd also like information on the SDI forces based in DPM, for the obvious reason of building our own based off of theirs.
So, that's what we want.
*Grand Admiral Scheer instructs a lackey to taste the grape juice*
Oh, and we'd like to buy the FA delegates some Vodka after the conference once we get into less formal, non-uniform clothes.

*Lt. General Onotov stands up and quickly takes a sip from her flask and then looks over at Caroyln who is still playing tetris on the battlemech screen*
Onotov: Esteemed delegates, I want to apologize for our lateness in attending this conference. As you know Edenstein was hit by a large snowstorm. I am just glad that we have been able to call together a meeting of these nations to hopefully end this situation and a return to a sort of normalcy here in the lakes.
The events that have transpired in our lakes, have been tragic, almost a 100 million Edenstein civillians as well as almost 30,000 thousand troops and equipment. This does not include the estimated 3 trillian dollar price tag that we have estimated that will be to rebuild our two cities, and the locks...
Now... Edenstein, and our allies have the right to bring FA to its knees... but... Edenstein is not that way. Thats why... to begin The Duma has pledged 40 billion in relief to the people of Featherstones America as well as 40 billion to the other nations, Andalucaie and Henceland Omega. We will also be donating enough XJ-35 compound to clear up the nuclear fallout from all of the ordinance that was released. The Emperor, Empress and the Duma hope that this will continue to foster good will between our nation and our allies and hopefully new Aliies... *looks towards the Featherstones America Delegates*
But a transgression has been done against Edenstein and our people... therefore these are the demands that Edenstein is asking for.
*she reaches into her coat and pulls out her Palm Pilot, as well as a pair of reading glasses*
Edenstein demands that all FA military assets including all Combat and Non Combat troops immediatly surrender and as soon as the locks are repaired or by other means.
A free and independent Manarth, such that was stated in the first lock treaty.
Removal of all forces from New Edenstein.
Allied control of the canal zone, namely Andaluciae, Henceland Omega, and Edenstein.
A reduction in arms to be decided upon by Andaluciae, Henceland Omega and Edenstein.
An elimination of FA's Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical weapons programs.
We the People and Duma of Edenstein respectfully submit these to the council.
*She takes off her glasses and looks at the empress*
Onotov: You have anything to add?
Carolyn: *looking up from her game* If any of you have the evil overlord hand him over now!

Gen. Patton: Of cource my fine comrades in arms. (Dang fools haven't all drank yet. And I'm never going to get the Andaluciaens to do anything. Not a worry, I can still cheat afterwords) I agree wholeheartedly with all your suggestions thus far. FA troops in the canal zone will surrender to an Edenstein/Andalucaie/HO coalition, and the FA troops currently invading each nation shall surrender to that nation. I request that the main army in FA, Northern Brittania and the former DPM territory do not surrender, as they are not engaged in a ground battle at this time.
Of cource I will give up technical knowlege of our anti-air system in FA controlled DPM territory. Our NBC programs will be decomissioned, we have spent a full 90% of our capability, and I'm sure you will like to see the last 10% decomissioned. We shall return to Manarth all rights and privilages previously denied to the soverign nation.
As for the canal zone. We will gladly give control of the Welland Canal to the allied forces of Andaluciae, HO and Edenstein. We are unable to give up the Jesseville Ohio Canal, as it is not our territory. But the canal zone, part of the DPM territory we refuse to give up. I propose a compromise in which the canal zone is made into a demilitarized zone. With a sizable section perhapse in which Andaluciae can build their own canal.
That is my proposal. If you don't like it you can all go to hell.

Jenny: ::giggles:: Shh! Watson, you're making an idiot of yourself.
Watson: Right... Uh, lemme have a ham and cheese on rye please!
::The lackey makes the sandwich and tastes it himself before giving it to Watson, who begins eating it himself::

::Jenny puts her arm on his shoulder and tries to calm him down, holding back more of her own giggles. Carmine and Ramsus eye them suspiciously. Carmine turns to General Patton::
Carmine: General Patton, I agree to your compromise for the most part. I feel, however, that it is not necessary to build an extra canal. The pre-existing ones sufficed until they came under attack. In addition, a DMZ canal would merely invite annexation from less trustworthy nations, like Pax Germania and Dubelco for example. The canal zones should remain under previous control save one. With CoC no longer in existence, their part of the canal zone may now be controlled by Andaluciae.
Ramsus: In addition, we'd like a public apology for starting the war.
Jenny: Yeah, you might think it's stupid, but it means a lot to our people.
Watson: Yeah, LIKE A FOX!
Ramsus: Ms. Heartwind, could you please take Watson and see what is the matter with him.
Watson: The matter? I've never felt so ALIVE!
::Jenny grabs Watson by the hand, and gulping some more of her drink, drags him outside the conference room. Ramsus turns and whispers to Carmine::
Ramsus: (I think there's something in those drinks. I know Watson's a lightweight, but this isn't how he acts drunk... there's something else at work here)

The lackey serving the HO section of the table was from Holy Toledo and could read a little Latin. He saw the word tranquilizer and bought one from Mike Gotti. He needed to calm down. So he took one.
His legs got wobbly and his eyes began to glaze over. His speech was slurred but no one would probably notice because of his heavy accent. He was unsteadily standing watching as Jenny grabs Watson by the hand, and drags him outside the conference room. He points to Jenny and shouts to the ceiling "Onward to the bedrooms." and falls to the floor.

::Ramsus watches as the servent falls to the ground and stands up immediately::
Ramsus: What happened to this man? Was he taste testing something? What was it? What's going on here?!? Is there poison in the food?
::Carmine shoots a round at Ramsus, who ducks down immediately::
Carmine: General Kahr, please do not jump to conclusions. I do however, echo his concern as to what happened to this man, but while we do we can continue with our business, that is, whether or not General Patton agrees to our terms..

::Out in the hallway Jenny turns to Watson::
Jenny: Helmholtz, what's the matter with you? You're as high as a kite!
Watson: Look at all the pretty sounds!
::Jenny's eyes go wide, she tries to say something, but stops as she looks at Watson::
Watson: All sorts of different colors!
Jenny: Oh my God... I can see what you just said!
Watson: Woah!
::The two of them begin to wander through the building looking for more sounds. Along the way, Watson gets the bright idea that they should try to fly. They walk upstairs and open a window. Jenny peers out and down 2 stories::
Jenny: That's a long way down...
Watson: It would be, if we couldn't fly! Let's go!

Why are they giving into our demands so quickly?

*Grand Admiral Scheer rips out a page of notebook paper, writes a few words on it quickly and sends it over to Onotov*
Not totally sure.
Either they were on the brink of total defeat just before they offered,
or they somehow found out about the invasion forces being built up and knew they couldn't repel them,
but either way they realized defeat was inevitable, and they find it more desireable to at least keep their homeland intact, and survivable.
At least that's what our intel thinks.

::Carmine gets the paper, and writes back on it
"Either they're scared of you, or they're plotting to have us killed"
He casually (yet discreetly) returns it to Onotov and sits back to await FA's opinion, trying to ignore the giggles from outside the room::

Mike Gotti realizing the LSD was pretty strong walks over to the master control room and locks all the above ground windows. Not that they could be opened anyway as they have been painted so many times they are for all practical purposes sealed shut.
Mike walks into the conference room and sees the lackey on the floor. He sizes up the situation and realizes the lackey took too much of the tranquilzer. Not wanting to alarm the delegates he pulls out a Desert Eagle .50 and fires it into the floor next to the lackey. This startles the lackey and he wakes up. Mike pulls him to his feet and slaps him in the face a few times. "He must have the flu, I wil replace him and the food he was preparing."
Mike drags the hapless lackey out of the room and drops him onto the floor. Not knowing a thing about the situation in the conference room Mike assigns his last lackey.. a recent immigrant from Manarth to serve the room.

::Back at the window. Jenny is laughing hysterically, rolling on the ground. Watson has spent the past 10 minutes trying to open up the window, but something about it wouldn't budge. He had a brief moment of triumph when he heard clicking, but oddly enough, that just seemed to make things more difficult. He frowns at the window, but is determined to get it open::
Watson: What do they do to their windows? What's the purpose of a window if it won't open? If it doesn't open they should just call it a... uh... umm... Light-letting-in-thingie. Right?
::He begins to pull and heave and grunt some more, ever determined to fly...
