Research and experiments on the MUSRUM [Attn: Moleland]

The huge shadow vessel flew through the red tinted gaseous glow of hyperspace through the detectable beacon system. Brita could sense her brothers and sisters nearby guarding the hyperspace approaches to Z'ha'dum... they were way off the beacon and has see not been the oldest of her kin she would never have sensed them this far off.

With a thought, she activated her hyperspace engines causing her to fade into reality over the red tinted barren world that served as a home for her masters the Shadows.

Huge ships carrying raw materials, rare foods to slaves were coming and going as usual, even a few permitted Sithian traders scooted about here and there. She screeched the warning to move, the ships quickly cleared an obvious path... none wished to anger a Battlecrab...

She descended gracefully into a huge crater, seeing shields blink out of existance before her she continued until a huge armoured glass panel retratced to reveal a huge base where over 200 of her brothers and sisters slept. She touched down lightly on her pad and some Hok'Tar rushed over to attend to her cargo and to check on her to make sure she needed no suppliments.

She opened her side for the Hok'Tar to take out the MUSRUM unit, Dureena Nafeel a Shadow Ambassador stepped out...

Ripping off the mask that served her in negotiations she revealed her true form, her shiny black skin, white long hair and her black eyes...

The Hok'Tar shrivelled back at the sight of what they believed to be an Angel... she waved them on... giving them the data pad so they could move that damn thing...

She glimpsed over to a pen to her right to a sound... she saw a Hok'Tar slaver whipping a dis-obediant slave, with an electro-whip, the energy cracking off the slaves back. The slave seemed to shout something... with that the Hok'Tar stopped and two others came forward and dragged the unfortunate over to the Dryal pens.

The unfortunate creature was tossed into the feeding chamber of the Dryal... within 10 seconds you could hear his tortured screams ringing around the chamber... nothing new... insolence and continued dis-obediance were punisable by death... Dureena grinned... already the universe trembled before them. They had made deals with several of the major powers in space and she had just added two more to that list, Moleland and The Imperial Navy... The first Shadow war was coming to pass...as planned...

OOC: Mole you can RP the MUSRUM being hauled out by the Hok'Tar...

As the Ship landed The MUSRUM appeared to reactivate. 'Awaiting Command.' It stated. It was lifted out of the ship and placed on the landing zone.

It heard the screams of the slave being torn apart, but did nothing as it was still obeying the 'Hold fire' command issued. It waited for further instruction...

OOC: What were the MUSRUM's commands again...

IC:

The Hok'Tar prodded the MUSRUM with their stubby yellow fingers, it was a rare sight to see a large robotic creature on Z'ha'dum... The shadows usually just bred what they wanted rather than creating it out metal...

Their excited jibbering was cut short by the annoyed glow eminating inside Brita's transport cavity, they quickly realised that annoying the principle Chariot of their God was not a good idea... they quickly fiddled with the datapad trying to read the instructions...

Outside, Dureena sighed... they may be loyal to the Shadows but the Hok'Tar were a very primitive people... she picked up a piece of cooked Grimlash being held out on a silver plate by a Talvern (a blue skinned humanoid which tends to be quite hairy), which was one of the few, the Shadows could get to be servants the rest seemed better suited to the Gladitorial games, potential growing hosts for the tech or as a general horde of creatures to be dropped on enemy planets to cause wide spread frenzied destruction...

She needed to go to her quarters and lay with her favourite concubine, whom she had renamed Slyia... who looked perfectly human, she had once been the daughter of some King on same world as the Talvern came from... but they had fallen to the Shadows, when they had refused to serve. She had been spared as a slave... and was now serving to provide Dureena's entertainment between her trips...

OOC: Follow, Attack, defend, stand fire, hold fire. ;)

IC: The MUSRUM's head whirled round after being poked, but did nothing.

It took a few minutes but the Hok'Tar eventually figured out the writing on the data pad...

One of them decided for a joke in the rather primitive sense of the word to shout the order 'Attack' and point at another Hok'Tar in the group who had stolen a bit of his food last night...

Across the cavern the sounds of torture could be heard, hundreds of slaves had disobeyed the Shadows and now they were paying in their pain for their dis-obediance... nobody defied the Shadows... nobody...
Moleland
08-12-2004, 14:21
The MUSRUM responded with the instruction, 'Command received!' It roared as it raised it's arm. The rocket laucher appeared out of the side of the arm. It was about to fire...
The Merchant Guilds
08-12-2004, 14:41
The poor Hoc'Tar target stood there frozen to the spot as his friends scamper away to somewhere safe...

A Shadow, who watched over the sentencing of those who defyed the Shadows began to run over to sort this mess out...

OOC: Feel free to fire...
Moleland
08-12-2004, 14:46
The MUSRUM fired 3 90mm rockets at the Salve that was frozen to the spot, was blown into little pieces. 'Enemy Destroyed!' Reported the MUSRUM.

The Shadow sprinted over to the Hok'Tar holding the datapad and took it from the gibbering creature. He quickly scanned it and shouted 'Hold Fire'.

He turned round to the Hok'Tar and clipped the offending creature over the head with his hand... due to his sharp nails this drew blood... the creature seemed to be crying... the Shadow said something in a crude language... it was along the times of;

(Translated)

You foul creature, how dare you do that inside your God's palace. Beg forgiveness from your God and you may granted your life.

To which the creature responded to by even more crying and it start bowing down quickly at the shadows feet shouting what appear to be prayers or some kind of crude song... which would hurt a human ear with's pure crudeness...

The Shadow signed and turn to the MUSRUM shouting 'Follow' he strode off towards where he guessed it was supposed to be heading...

The Shadow walked through a series of vaulted chambers towards a target range...

He spoke to the guards along the path all opened the doors before them.

They walked into a large underground target range, where control was handed over to a relieved group of Shadows in white silks, showing them to be of the scientific persuasion.

They commanded the MUSRUM to hold fire, while they set up their equipment and sensors to monitor the thing.

A few scientists prodded and poked it to see if it would react...

At the lack of a reaction a scientist waved a hand over a key pad and the target range came to life. Thin hardened steel poles were brought up with curse and obsentity screaming Talvern on them... the Blue-skinned creatures saw the MUSRUM and increased the rapidity of their abuse in a stupid attempt to stop the inevitable.

A scientist pointed at them in series and said 'Attack at each', despite the fact they were by now moving around rather fast tied to the steel poles...

'Cannot understand verbal command. Please transmit electronically. Returning to previous order.' Replied the MUSRUM. It did nothing else. Awaiting the electronic order...
The Merchant Guilds
09-12-2004, 12:16
The scientist signed and typed in an electronic order to attack the now screaming Talvern... who seemed to come up with neverending insults for the Shadows...
Moleland
09-12-2004, 12:20
The Musrum Processed the order. It transmitted back, 'Order's received'.

The MUSRUM advanced on the Talvern. It opened fire, Firing 3 Rockets at each in turn, Walking in amongst the poles as it went on a rampage...

The scientists looked happy...

'Hold Fire and Follow' were the next command's given to the MUSRUM.

It was led into a large lab... where it would be stored, until they had talked to the Moleland Government about their proposed project... they had many ideas but this was certainly in there minds. If they could combine the Shadows knowledge of organics and the Mole's knowledge of robotics they could create a new generation of Robotic killing machines with an Organic outside, allowing them to move within civilisations with ease...

Re: MUSRUM Testing
Security: Ultraviolet

We have recently tested the MUSRUM capabilities, it has found to be most impressive. We would thus like to offer a joint research project with yourselves with the technology in order that we might create a more discrete robotic machine with our knowledge of organics we will bring it's shape and organic disguise to the table to allow it fit in with and infiltrate most known species. This would be a joint project with both as equal partners.

We suggust if you accept this project take place on a neutral world, which shall have security detail provided by both nations.

We look forward to hearing from you in this matter.

Regards,

The Shadows,
Moleland

'We are intereste din your proposal. it could have some use as a spy or assassin of some description. The armour plating of the MUSRUM would have to be reduce, and it's intelligence increased, but this could be a viable option. Awaiting date and location for research to commence.

Re: MUSRUM Testing
Security: Ultraviolet

This is the reasoning we had ourselves behind such a creation. We believe the armour can be supplemented by our knowledge of organics allowing for quicker movement and sharper reflexs. This would allow us to create a potentially deadly assassin...

As for the locale of the research... we have many research colony's upon which it would take place as for time... it can start as soon as you wish it...

As for the guarding, if it is in our territory we suggust you provide a sufficent guard of Moleish troops/robots as well as many ships as you feel you would want on guard duty.

If it is in our territory we ask you to provide us physical details of all your Moles will require, we shall see to it (OOC: atmosphere, food etc).

As for funding we shall be setting the project a budget of 20 billion USD per year, as an intial budget... we will make more funds available to it as requested. We suggust you offer a similar amount or resources.

We are pleased at your interest,

Regards,

The Shadows,
Moleland

Subject: Musrum facelift

Very good. Moleland is keen to start as soon as possible. If this is held in your space, we shall send a fleet (listed below) with several land units statione daround the complex. Some of our top researchers and scientists shall be available for this project. This may well prove highly profitable for us if this robot/organic Warrier can be economic as well as good.
If it is allowed, we wish to also build several Defence Platforms, and deploy a type A and type C minefield around these platforms. A final request is to be allowed to build a communications array in this sector to help communications.

Fleet available
7 MDCs
12 Interdictors
23 Strike cruisers
46 Frigates
100 Corvettes.
(Fighters included)

Troop amounts available on request.

OOC: This fleet stationed in your space has the added bonus of being able to be deployed in other RP in your space ;)

Re: Project 2501 'Mole Star'
Security: Ultraviolet

The facility we have designated for this project is on the planet:

A'Hak'Bree'Narn

We have attached a holographic star map for your convience, it is in a core Shadow system thus is well protected and heavily montiored so no security breeches should occur.

We have a Shadow Relay station in the area if you would submit your codings to us we can have normal traffic sent through it to yourselves. As for security concerning messages we are willing to let you construct a moleish communications array on A'Hak'Bree'Narn (a Research Colony) for your use.

Defence Platforms we assure you are not nessacary but if it makes you feel better you may construct them. The colony is equipped with enough defences to hold off one or two Destroyer and Cruiser class vessels.

Minefields we accept this on condition that these be removed on the termination of the research.

This warrior will be of great use to both of us, as well as facilitating increased co-operation between our Governments for the future. We hope this warrior will be ready for the beginning of the planned Shadow war in the next decade.

The Shadows,

The mines will be removed, but we may need your help. As our mines can not be deactivated, we request that you send some of your best pilots to help us to destroy them (OOC: Do you know what I mean by mines?).
We wish to build some Com Sats in this area. Thank you for offering yours, but our ones will be needed for secrecy.
Our ships shall arrive at the co-ordinates in 5 hours. (we may wish to satrt a new thread?) We shall bring the latest MUSRUMs with us.

Mines I assume as in things that float around and blow things up if they get too close or do something correct?

Bah research is bloody hard to RP properly :D

Plus I am very busy atm... new job etc...
Moleland
13-12-2004, 12:31
OOC: My mines are stationary, and fire lasers at anything within a kilometre (including our own ships) Type A mines just have lasers on them that fire at any vessel. Type C mines are cool, because when they are destroyed they automatically fire a concussion missile at the craft that attacked it!
The Merchant Guilds
13-12-2004, 12:37
OOC: Right... so how do we get in and out?
Moleland
13-12-2004, 12:44
OOC: You ignore them, and use small, fast ships. They are automated, so you just engage simple evasive procedures ;) They are to stop large ships making attack runs on the platform!
The Merchant Guilds
13-12-2004, 12:53
OOC: Right...

That would probably mean I wouldn't even be able to get a transport to the planet since my only small fast ship is my fighter. My Vampire Scout Cruiser is 350 metres long so I don't think it counts as small but it is hideously fast...
Moleland
13-12-2004, 12:56
A fast and agile transport should be ok. Besides, as large vessel could get through, as long as it doesn't mind taking a bit of sheild damage. If don't intend to stop and attack things, minefields are no threat. it's when you attack something inside them that they become a annoyance!
The Merchant Guilds

Lol... *sends a Battlecrab through the field* whoops... what did I just do heh... Fine...

Btw, have you ever watched Ghost in the Shell? or GITS: Stand Alone Complex... if not.

Read the general idea of the end product:

http://www.manga.com/ghost/synopsis.src.html

http://www.manga.com/ghost/characters.src.html

With a few inspirations taken from the idea of the 'Thirds' from the two Armitage movies... (Armitage The Third and Armitage: PolyMatrix)

Basically, we have an organic brained robot with organic skin, which can think for themselves in any given situation but still has core programming, which can be told what to do. We can also give it the ability to sexually reproduce normal children if you would like, this will make it easier for it to conduct long time operations which require it to fit into a civilisation.
