CAGLIARI- Roman Emperor Rodin Hartian announced today that he is giving the island of Sardinia to The Island Of Rose as a gift for the close alliance the nations share as members of The New Roman Empire.

"In honour of the services The Island Of Rose has provided us in The New Roman Empire, we have decided to give their fine nation the island of Sardinia as a gift," said Hartian in a speech today. "Sardinia is a prosperous island, fitting for a nation of Rose's calibre, and due to its proximity to Rome it would facilitate the close ties that our two nations share."

The handout is to take place effective immediately.

Official Statement from The Commonwealth of The Island of Rose:

The Island of Rose accepts this genorous gift. The Nation of Sardinia shall be renamed The Rosian Protectorate of Sardinia. The Commonwealth is also planning to turn Sardinia into a massive military base, but not without a referendum being given first. The 67th Rosian Fleet and the 997th Rosian Division along with thousands of colonists which will resettle and act as a Militia of Sardinia. Whether or not Sardinia will turn into a full fledged military baes or act as a Wake Island will be up to the people of Sardinia. We hope we are welcomed with open arms.

Pietro Sambenelli, the leader of the Sardinian People's Union (SPU) that represents the citizens of Sardinia spoke out for The Island Of Rose's participation in Sardinia.

"We will accept Rose's advancements in Sardinia, however, we ask that the rights of Sardinians will be respected. Rose may have as many military bases as she wants in Sardinia but she may not completely turn Sardinia into a military base. Our people would be glad to assist The Island Of Rose in its operations in Sardinia, but we wish to keep our businesses and homes intact."

EDIT- Rose, since you control Sardinia, you are invited to join The Roman Confederacy. It's a fully democratic alliance and membership is voluntary.

Your homes will be kept intact. But the referendum will be held to see what the people think. The 67th Rosian Fleet and other ships will dock in Southern Sardinia. The Fleet is to be alerted when they arrive and promptly dock. The General and Admiral aboard the CRS Goffer is to be told of the military situation in Sardinia. Your Government will also be intact, but you will be forced to trade with Rosian allies and follow Rosian Foreign Policy. That is all for now. Alert the fleet when they are near.

SPU: "We have no problems accepting Rosian suzerainty, especially in regards to foreign affairs, and since our rights will be respected, we accept Rosian rule."

OOC: Nikoloas said something about a "small" Mediterranean invasion, so I wanted to know what that was about.

OOC: Okay. By the way, not to bug you with it but have you seen my alliance (The Roman Confederacy)?

IC: A huge crowd of people came to the port at Cagliari as a show of support for the incoming Rosian fleet. The 67th Fleet was greeted with thunderous cheer from the crowd, all furiously waving the new Rosian flags given to them earlier in the day. It was a hero's welcome, as the Sardinians graciously accepted their new rulers.

The soldiers started unloading various supplies, weaponry, food, and the like. Armor started to roll by in the Harbor, Humvees were driven towards the nearby city. It was a busy event overall. Other soldiers were set up along the perimeter as not to let security go lax. From the deck of the CRS Goffer decended the Admiral of the 67th Rosian Fleet in a clean white uniform and the General of the 997th Rosian Division in his rugged green uniform.

The General chuckled. "Now this is a nice welcome."

The Admiral smirked. "Yes. And now we'll have a nice base for our Roman Sea (as the Rosians called the Med) operations."

The General sighed. "Yeah yeah. But now we have to review the state of the Sardinian Armed Forces. And start the building of various forts."

The Admiral chuckled. "Lucky you. I get to relax on the deck of our nice Rose Class Carrier."

The General grumbled. "Which are Hampton made."

"Hm?"

"Nothing. Anyway, I'll see ya soon."

The Admiral yawned. "All right. Have fun with that."

The General boarded a Humvee destined for the city ahead, where he will talk to the local Mayor. A Rosian Ambassador didn't arrive yet, but they might as well have started political relations. The soldiers were already starting with their own relations if you know what I mean... and no it is not sex you dirty dirty liberal minds. The Admiral meanwhile slept.

As the Rosians moved in, Randolfo Moreno, the mayor of Cagliari, personally greeted the Rosian General. "I am happy to see you today," said Moreno to the General. "Our citizens are very happy to know of your prescence here, and we hope to have a long and prosperous relationship with The Island Of Rose".

OOC: Last post for a while...I have an essay I have to write.

The General nodded. "Well I'm not the Political Ambassador so I can't say." He chuckled. "But I came here to ask of the Sardinian Armed Forces, if there are any. Or if you even know something about them."

"We do not have an armed force. We were protected by Rome and now we are protected by you- that is why we are happy for your presence; and also because we have heard so many positive things regarding your nation."
