The Hatching

Deep in the Dzillish Hive Research Centre in the heart of the Gene Ware Inc marketing complex stood hung enormous egg. Unshielded from the rays of the sun that beat down upon the airless construction that housed the egg in the middle of the orbiting facility was Gene Ware Incs greatest creation. The completion of Lord Maa’ntks personal project, this would be the greatest weapon produced by the Okyton Empire, the final product of the Dzillish series, with this all other arms manufacturers would crumble before Gene Wares might.

Tiny thin-legged robots, like spiders skittered across the hard surface of the egg, feeling for imperfections with their wisp like antennae. Breaking the silence came the unearthly chirrup of one of the carer robots, its shrill alarm ringing across the minds of the facility as it broadcast its message to all within range. The Dzillish God of Silence was stirring. It had been one hundred years since the egg was first created, and in that time it had grown to more than a mile in height, Lord Maa’ntk had spared no expense feeding the egg, no easy task as the shell was several metres thick, but even with his projections and data he was still unsure as to exactly what would emerge.

With marketing executives and scientists rushing to the egg, and Lord Maa’ntk on his way from Okyto City the first massive impact shook it. Despite the shells more than robust nature it cracked quickly, fine lines spreading across its surface faster than they eyes could easily follow. Before a single piece fell from the surface, however, there came a lull in the impacts, an eerie silence followed before without warning the top of the egg shattered violently hurling giant chucks of metallic shell out into space, and ripping into the station. From inside billowed a formless grey mass, which oozed out hundreds of tentacles to the station. It paused slightly adjusting its grip before ripping off the triangular shaped sections that gave the facility its star shape, breaking them into pieces easily before discarding much of it, some pieces its tentacles oozed into, and when they withdrew it was stripped bare, the metal raw and open.

The stations defences were not inactive, and before the command centre was digested by the God of Silence they were trained upon it. Turning slowly to face inwards, not a position they were designed for they began to fire upon the creature. Both physical and energy weapons appeared to have little affect upon its body. Projectiles were merely absorbed into the skin, whilst lasers burnt ineffectively at it. Within half an hour it had stripped a large part of the station dry and moved on, soaring out into space at speeds enabled by Lord Maa’ntks clever design, its integration with numerous advanced technologies were designed to give it the edge over other space creatures, and boost the overall price of the God.

Immediately upon hearing of the disaster at his main facility Lord Maa’ntk began preparing several things, an explanation to Crassuss as to why he was using the gene technology given to him for such ends, a statement to the press downplaying the event, and a message to bounty hunters and retrieval experts everywhere.

To all that feel ready to take on a great challenge in search of reward I send the following message. Recently an incident occurred at the Bronze Star station head of Gene Ware Inc outside Okyto City. During the altercation a certain animal that is property of Gene Ware Inc escaped, and his even now free in space. We offer a reward of $500’000’000 credits to any that can return to us the Dzillish God of Silence, dead or alive. Its last known co-ordinates are shown below and we hope that you can retrieve the God in timely fashion.

OOC: OK, I am basically looking for a few nations to RP bounty hunters and the like in their separate attempts to retrieve or kill the God of Silence. No big nations weighing in please, state funded expedition maybe but I’d like a nice clean RP not a chance for you all to test your firepower out on the God of Silence. If you have any extensive queries or wish to discuss at any length TG me and ill give you my msn messenger or yahoo… if you have neither of these then this RP may be slightly more difficult but not impossible :D.

Bump: I am shocked that no other space nation has citizens that are willing to risk their lives in persuit of 1/2 a billion. theres always people out there whod do anything for "easy" money.

OOC: I'm considering getting Lef, Kel and Telos, a band of 'not-so-good-doers' out of retirement/almost certain execution, to let them try and make a few notes. You got any OOC details on that thing first, though, what it's capable of, how fast it can move around and suchlike, just so's I know what it is they'd be up against?

OOC: Its powered by an efficient no-moving-parts engine that pushes against space, its just designed to get the God where ever needed.

What can it do, mostly it rips things apart oozes inside them and eats the insides, it can also ooze into things and rip them apart from the inside. It is effectively a baby even though its miles long, and so one attack that might work fist time may well not work a second.

The risks are, great, many bounty hunters wouldnt survive the attempt to recover it, but the type of person that becomes a bounty hunter would never be able to resist a .5 billion bounty.

At some piont youre gonna need to call in Okyton Support but ill think of that later :D... youll see a good description of the gods power against large structures when the thread begins... just a couple more people needed :D
Thanks for the TG! I thought I'd post it here in case anyone else was curious; I'll edit it out if for some reason that's a problem.

IC:

Lef put his metal mug down on the coarse wooden table, wiping his long snout. He looked at Telos, who had somehow managed to get his mug stuck on the end of his nose, holding his jaws shut. He clawed at it madly but was too drunk to figure out how to get it off. Kel sat next to him, pointing and laughing but unsurprisingly not helping.
A new addition to their group, Greko, was a Gerash, ex-army. He didn't -- couldn't -- talk much so they weren't sure what led to his dismissal from the army, but quite frankly Lef didn't want to know. All he knew was that Greko could kill you before you realised you were dead, and he handled a plasma rifle like an extension of his own body. Not much for conversation, though. Greko spent his time licking out an ale mug like a dog, occasionally snorting at Telos' predicament. If he weren’t careful with that mug, he may end up joining Telos soon enough.

Their execution for piracy had been quick and painless, mainly because it hadn't happened. The Ghargon, 'wise' as he was, decided that he admired their desire to achieve 'strength at any cost', and granted them a full pardon. He did confiscate their ship, all their money and all their equipment as compensation, however.

Lef sighed and looked down at the datapad again as a Ghargonian male flew over their table and crashed through the wooden wall into the private compartments. $500,000,000 must have been 250,000,000 gonars. That was a frekking huge sum of money. Just to capture some giant, space-borne ball of Verko-crap. Or even kill it. They could kill it. They could if they had anything to kill it with anyway.

"You two, what are we going to do about this?" he shouted over the incessant noise of the reekhouse. Neither Kel nor Telos heard him; too busy with their antics. He shook his head and looked over at the next table. A band of Ghargonians swayed, their arms linked, roaring an incoherent drinking song and laughing like idiots.
Lef stood up and looked around. He picked up a spare chair and swung it at the group. The wooden chair shattered over three of them, leaving the other two looking quite shocked.

"QUIET!" he roared, glaring at them. He paused for a second, and when he was confident that they weren't going to challenge him, he sat back down.

"Someone stood on their battleblade this morning, huh?" Kel mocked after a few moments.

"Shut up," Lef snapped. "What are we going to do about this?"

Kel looked down at the datapad and picked it up. He read a few lines then shook his head, putting it back down.

"There's nothing we can do, boss," Kel said. "We don't have a ship anymore, remember? Unless you want to swim over there..."

"Such a defeatist attitude," Lef said. He finally got annoyed and reached over, yanking the mug off Telos' snout.

"Fanks bossh..." Telos grinned in a drunken slurr. He lost his balance and toppled off his chair.

"We don't have a ship, but I reckon we can get a ship," Lef said, leaning in to Kel. "They have one at the Imperium Research Facility near here, very lightly guarded too. Our new friend here would make short work of a few scientists."

"If it's very lightly guarded," Kel whispered. "It's probably a pile of scrap terralium."

"That's where you're wrong," Lef said, bearing his vicious teeth in a sly grin. He dug into a leather bag that was slung around his shoulder and pulled out another datapad, handing it to Kel. Kel ducked as a mug flew past his head, and started reading.

"The Bladeship?" he exclaimed.

"Shhh..." Lef said, looking around cautiously. "Yes! It'd be perfect; small, fast, maneouvrable, but still big enough for a long trip!"

"The reason they don't need to guard that is because nobody would steal it!" Kel whispered harshly.

"Then we'll prove them wrong," Lef said. He patted Kel on the shoulder and stood up, shoving a nearby Ghargonian into a crowd. "I'll go and use the public transmitter outside. We're going to make 100,000,000 gonars!"

"100,000,000...?" Kel pondered as Lef walked away.

Lef stepped out onto the metal high-platform and looked around the dark city. A million years in the making, Ghargonia Prime was a vast, planet-wide city. When they ran out of space on the ground, the great architects of the past started building towards the sky. Now, there were multiple levels, with some Ghargonians never seeing the ground, and some never seeing the sky.
As it was, Lef and his group hadn't been on the planet long enough to work their way down very far, so they were only a few storeys from the top. They could see buildings right up to the horizon, and in the twilight hours of the day, lights started twinkling everywhere. If he were a sentimental mammal he might think it beautiful, though as it was he couldn't care less.

He looked around until he saw a public transmitter built into the wall. He walked over, shoving the Ghargonian that was using it out of the way and cutting the transmission. After slotting in a gonar, he established a frequency and direction, but left it open.

"To whomever it may concern; an independent party will be trying to collect the reward of $500,000,000," he said in a gruff voice. He spoke English, seeing as that was a fairly common language and nobody seemed to know Ghargonian outside of the Imperium. "We will be setting off for the area hinted at in your transmission shortly." He stopped talking just as his gonar's worth of airtime cut off. He grinned and walked back into the reekhouse to devise a plan to get their new ship.

Lord Karabl stood on the deck of his black ark, surrounded by his searvents. He had left on a slave raid three months ago, and it had gone horribly wrong. The Planet thay had aimed for had ment to be under developed, but while they had been prapearing, the planet had been conuered by the TSURANI! The force had been repelled, and now his fleet had to find something to gain them the same amount of Credits they would have managed. Karabl was one of the more powerful Lords in the court of the Witch King, and this venture could make or break him.

He was watching the galatic message boards when he found a message. His eyes scanned the page three times.

To all that feel ready to take on a great challenge in search of reward I send the following message. HE smiled, that many credits was almost 5 times what he had expected to gain from this venture. THIS could be useful. He summoned his Cheif sorceress, and summonded his officers.

"Put this location into the Warp Generator" He said in a cold voice. "We may be able to save this venture yet."

“My Lord… Please…” Begged Lord Maa’ntk to the marble statue of Crassuss that stood in the centre of a deserted square in Old Okyto. “I need these World Eaters to get back the God… this has taken me 100 years… this has been my life… Please… we are your people not those Humans on New-Okyto, not those perversions you call Halflings. Help me, you owe us… it is yours to protect and help US.” Maa’ntks long metal arms clasped at the feet of the statue, his thin silvery wings stretching out to the emptiness of the deserted city.

“…”

”I see my Lord.” Sighed Maa’ntk, rising from the steps below the statue, his feet clinked upon the stone as he walked slowly from Morahern square, once the centre of busy activity for millions of people, once gleaming in the rays of the sun, now hanging cold and empty with the rest of old Okyto in the vaults of the Xaxoss.

It took an hour to walk out of Morahern square before he could get back to his ship. Once there he raced off to the World Eater Docks he would collect 2 World Eaters and use them in his hunt for the God of Silence. Once there he stood at one end of the docks looking out. In front of him were the World Eaters stretching away from 100 of miles. These were the triumphs of the Okyton Empire, and without them they would be defenceless and without resources. Lord Maa’ntk well new that the Okyton Empire no longer had the capability to build more, no longer had the resources to undertake the construction of space ships. Not since these new Humans had been introduced to New Okyto. The sapped the Empires resources with their constant demands for attention, eventually he would se this wrong righted. He chose from the still ranks two precious metal World Eaters, their valuable cargo meant that they had developed mining ships more suited to war than many of the others.

Stepping into the throne room of the World Eater Xishill he said to the apparently empty space “Role call” and from in between the pillars floated a cold female voice saying “Ma’at at your service and to your left is Sekhmet, we are already appraised of the situation. Shall we be off?” “Yes Ma’at if we could retrieve the god as soon as possible.”

The two giant craft slid out from under the Xaxoss almost disappearing next to seemingly endless walls of the larger Xaxoss. Before long they were Approaching the Silver Star another of Gene Wares research station, this one was devoted to the tried and tested Dzillish Archangel of Silence, on sale from Gene Ware Inc for a mere $600 million.

The God of Silence was last seen 14 light years from here around the small earth type planet of 00217-32 we need to retrieve this before Lord Shirassi gets hold of it.

Yah and Ee were AI gel circuits that had been pratically designed for this sort of thing. Their bio-drones numbered 300 and they needed money.

Yah had heard of a job opening. He'd talked with Ee even though they were thousands of miles apart. Ee talked with The Vessel and The Vessel talked with The Mind.

Yah and Ee were given permission to try.

Near the Last location the Thing had been seen, the Black ark and the protecting fleet arrived. They made major traces, and found the trail of the thing. Shadow fighters started to fly out, following the trail. They managed to find it. And Karabl smiled.

"Start the first attack run" He said in a hollowed out voice. "Drop the Grv bombs."

The SHadow fighters complied, and each one droped a bomb almost as large as the ships. They pulled out, a few getting taken by the things body. The Bombs, as with earlier projectiles, where absorbed within the body, causein Karabl to dance.

"Detonate the weapons." He said to the weapons deck.

There was a pause, before the first part of detonation began.

OOC Haha. Lets see your thing surrvive 50 Black Holes that will last for 5 minutes. I USED ITS POWER AGAINST IT!!! BTW, if you say how did we get those type of bombs, they come standered with Shadow Fighters, and this IS a powerful lord here.

Lef nodded at Kel, who gestured 'ready' with his hand. Lef looked over his shoulder at Telos and Greko, who both nodded. Clutching his gold-plated plasma pistol, Lef nodded finally. Greko suddenly bolted towards the metal door, slamming it open. The metal walls vibrated with the force of his impact, and the air was filled with explosive sounds as the Gerash dropped to his knee and unleashed hell from his huge plasma rifle. Scientists dropped like flies as Kel and Telos stepped into the room and started firing their pistols.

Lef jumped over the two, taking pot-shots at the few armed guards there were in the room, and started working on a series of consoles that lined the wall behind the large, curvaceous vessel that dominated the centre of the room. Kel jumped to his side, firing his illegal, customised disrupter rifle at anybody who came within range.

Lef looked over as he saw Greko withdraw his battleblade and start running at the remaining guards. For such a bulky creature, he dodged the shots they fired at him with surprising grace.

Lef shook his head and concentrated. He had to bypass five levels of security without the proper access codes or genetic material, and he had to do it before the nearby base came to life like a bee hive. Alarms were already sounding, signalling that he had little time.

But luckily, he didn't need it. He snorted happily as the entire console flashed green and the huge roof doors slowly pulled open.

"All aboard!" he roared, firing at the console a few times and then running to the large gunship that sat in the centre of the large lab. Greko pulled his battleblade from the gut of one of the Ghargonian shocktroopers and sprinted over to the ramp that opened at the rear of the ship. He took position, firing suppressive fire so the others could get aboard. As the ramp started to lift back up again he dived inside. The ship rumbled loudly and lifted off the metal floor gently, rising out through the roof.

"Don't suppose we have any energy shields?" Kel asked as the ship shook violently.

"We do indeed," Lef nodded. He pressed as series of buttons and sat back. "Next stop, 100,000,000 gonars!"

Outside, the ship suddenly glowed yellow and the blasts from the nearby flak turrets seemed to impact harmlessly on a ball of energy. The ship stopped lifting and blasted forwards, spinning as it turned up and headed upwards, into space.

The God writhed as the projetiles hit its body, normally they would have had trouble penetrating its leathery surface without some force behind them but at this piont they sank right in... within seconds of their impact it swept over upon itself hurling from its viscous several large silvery blobs that span in random directions.

Having freed itself from the weapons it turned angruly to face its assailant, splitting almost in two to attack several ship, grabbing one out of space it hurled it away and began to form enormous tendrils reaching out to the others.

OOC: Think custard... the more force you hit it with the firmer the surface becomes... not quite the same with this but you get the idea... and remember that its well over a mile long especially by this time.

Karabl swore, those missiles where the brunt of his tatic. When one of the ships went flying. He shrugged, and as the other ships sheilds where set up. The Tendrils pushed up against the sheilds, trying to punch through. The craft all moved towards the black Ark, to find protection within the three sheild layers.

Karabl looked at the thing. So energy weapons where usless, and its skin was getting harder. He pondered as the thing pounded uslessly againstthe ships sheild system. THe BEaty of the thing was, by the time the second sheild was wiped out, the first had recharged. He looked at it's shaplessness. He smiled, the thing got stronger each time, they would use that ginst it. If it got stronger, then the part destroied had to regrow, which ment it would patch over somewhee to get rid of the weapons insde them. HE HAD IT!!!

"Weapons Officer," HE said quickly. "Fire the drill point cannons at the thing, radius 100m. Then as the hole covers up, fire three mages into the middle. Detonate them the second they are in."

"YES SIR!" Said the officer.

The Drill point cannons, used for drlling holes in the earth, but making very good anti-ship weapons as well. The things cut through the surface skin, which got three "Mage" Missiles right next to it. THe Things detonated, sending a blast of life force, the total being stronger then 5 nuclear bombs.

OOC: Gene Ware Post to come

Apparently angered by the attacks against it the God was gowing in size moving like an ameoba as its body spread out round the Naggerothian fleet. Rapidly hundreds of tentacle pounded at ship shields, whilst others entirely engulfed ships to try and hurl them from their positions out into deep space or towards the near by planets atmosphere.

The thing sensed the launch of the drill missles and instinctively hardened its skin to try and resist the attack, but was thwarted as they began to burrow. Quickly trying a differnet tactic the area upon with the missle was burrowing suddenly expanded outwards leaving the projectiles twisting into empty space. Sensing a dangerous change in tactic the God of Silence rapidly retreated bunching itself up into a squid like blob and spinning off behind the planet.

The uninhabited planet spun in it's solar orbit, a serene contrast to the battle going on around it. Flames trailed through the atmosphere as the wrecked Norrogath ship began to break up, armor snapping off, revealing the gridded support inside. The stresses on the ship forced it into rolls and spins, before crushing the flaming wreck like a tin can, sending more flaming chunks through air. Roughly one hundred metres from the ground, the flames began to take on a green tint.

With a horrendous explosion, the ship hit. The cool waters around the impact site turned to a smooth, silvery crater, and a wave of green fire ripped across the area, perpetuated by phosporus and black powder explosions for a mile around. Plantlife immediatly began to swallow up the crater, and the spinning planet slowed. A huge blast of electromagnetic and radio waves ripped through space, deafening all those unshielded with an unintelligible mental scream...

"Sir, one of our rogue informants just, uh informed us of a huge bounty on a thing called the "God of Silence". It would appear that it has some pretty big importance." The low level officer waited with his hands behind his back. The Higher officer left without a word making his way hastily to the general's chamber. "You can't go in there! Hey!" The clerk shouted and tried to bar his way but was pushed aside. The door burst in "Sir, I have recieved word that there is some sort of abominition in space and there is a large reward for it's capture or death. I think in the name of the God Emporer we should destroy it before it can become too power full." The general stood. "This is true and we are currently in a time of peace. "What better waeapon to destroy an affront to the god emporer. We shall also send the Patronus fides as well as 3 cruisers if we need more we can request the other cruisers and frigates." Yes sir.

**Onboard the Amplitudo Ensis**
"Sir we are picking up readings of a massive unidentified...uh mass, it's bigger than anything we've ever encountered, there seems to be a large group of ships near it." The captain already knew of what the navigation officer was speaking he could feel it, he could feel everything the Amplitudo Ensis felt he could feel the steady pulse of it's ancient warp drive. He could see what the sensors saw..he was Amplitudo Ensis. "We will travel there and we will destroy that mutilation of nature. Signal the other Ships tell them to do the same." The communications officer was signalling the other captains before his captain had finished speaking. "The other captains have acknowledged and are changing course. "Send them one more message: Prepare your weapons and may the God Emporer guide them to victory." "I shall sir."

"I'll relay it to your internal viewing...You should be able to see it now." "I want the rest of the crew to see it, I want them to see what happens if you stray from the light." "Aye aye sir." The image was displayed across all the viewing screen throught the ship, "May the God Emporer protect us...I'ts huge and the other ships weapons are doing nothing! We're going to die...DIE!!!" "Calm yourself Joseph we need a calm weapons officer the emporer protects we will survive and we will annihalate this thing!" OOC EF, I am not that powerful we just fight dirty. Already I have lost Half my fleet. ((Not that Karabl cares)) We where maing a slave raid on medieval planet, so we only really had the black ark and 7 ships. The Real fire power comes from the ark, which mind you, NOT going to get out of this scot free. Ok, losses are

23 shadow ships
5 Escort ships.

CUrrent Units:

1 Back ark
2 Escort ships
27 shadow fighters

IC Karabl smiled. So the thing had a weakness. He may have lost 5 ships to find it, as well as the other two being damaged, but he was now ready to form a plan. He was about to go to medatait when one of the officers ran up to him.

"Sir, we lost all heavy duty missiles, we only have the Drill point cannons and normal fire power, we also lost a section of hull, sir, we have only the remaining shadow fighters, the damn thing tore off our fighter bays." His eyes where wild, and he had a show of rebellion within him. Thus, Karabl sliced his head from his shoulders before leaving the room.

A small black hole slowly tore open space, and a ship popped out. A curvaceous central cone-shaped compartment surrounded by curved, down-arcing blade-like wings emerged, coming to a halt. The hole sealed up behind it.

"Um... boss..." Kell grabbed Lef's shoulder and shook him. Lef gazed at the huge space creature in the distance and looked around.

"What?"

"There are frekking ships everywhere," Kel said, pointing at the monitor on the wall. Sure enough, the main green blob that was the space creature was surrounded by smaller red triangles.

"Where in the name of Krak did they come from?!" Lef exclaimed, leaning in towards the screen, counting them.

"No idea," Kel said, working on a console. "Multiple transponder signals, some I've never seen before."

"Fire off a half dozen sensor-scramblers and get us out of here," Lef shouted, moving back to his controls. "Can't afford the risk of an Imperium ally being here and spotting us... or shooting at us. Damn... 250,000,000 gonars..."

"250,000,000?!" Kel exclaimed. "You said it was..."

"Shut up and get us out of here!" Lef interrupted.

The small ship suddenly pushed forwards, arcing through space to face the way it came. Small grey objects dropped from its rear, erupting into brilliant white lights as they cleared the ship. A small black hole opened in space, and the ship plunged into it. As the white lights started 'popping', the hole shrank into nothingness again.

"Derek. Tell the other ships to form an attack line we'll fire a volley then pull back a little." Derek looked up from his diplays "Yes sir..And the techpriest is reporting a problem with the sensors it would appear that a ship came out of no where scrambled our sensors and ran off." The captain turned to the comm. officer. "Cancel that last order we're going to pull up near the ships that are attacking the creature and send them a message. Let it read:

This is the Apocalypse class Heavy Battleship the Amplitudo Ensis we are here to help in the destruction of the God of silence. I captain Horatio would like a meeting with the captains of each ship perhaps we can formulate a strategie to destroy this abomination.

Send that to every ship thats fighting that thing if you can." Yes sir.

OOC: Yeah, you guys should RESPOND.
IC:

The entire planet suddenly seemed to come alive. Thick, veiny vines slithered across the ground, crushing underground with snaps and cracks. Long-dead machines began to struggle against their organic bonds, before the wizened contraptions were torn to scrap. Whatever electronic components were found in the robot were commandeered into makeshift weapons of some sort, while other vines retreated underground with the metal chunks, for unknown purposes.

A mountain range facing towards the Naggeroth fleet was being augmented. In the side of the mountain, hundreds of vines worked wildly, boring a tunnel in the rock. Grit and stone flew into the air, as the remaing rock to the destination cracked away, falling backwards into an underground lake of viscous fluids. The vines pulled back, only to have hundreds more push forward and begin chucking various minerals into the liquid mass.

From the planet, more radio and EM waves pulse, this time sending a straightforward message, "You have awakened the beast, and now you must die. NOW!"

Activity centers around the single mountain range, as the scrap metal is piled over the peaks, and more of the tunnels are made to seperate deposits. As action begins to cease, a small boulder slowly rolls down the first tunnel, and into the fluid, as rocks are fused outside the tunnel with the scaveneged tools from ships. A moment after the rock hits the liquid, a spark puffs up, and the mountain viciously explodes upwards, sending boulders and scrap metal directly through the atmosphere, and into the Naggeroth fleet.

Aboard the Amplitudo Ensis: "Sir they're not respond." The captain paced the room he had left his chair and paced the room...a thick cord plugged into the back of his head long enough so that he could move around the entire bridge and stayed connected with his beloved ship. The navigator called the captain over to his display. "Sir that planet seems to be launching projectiles from it's surface...Scans say they aren't explosive they look like rocks and chunks of metal.?" What the hell is going on down there. We need to talk to the other ships Captains where the hell are they?" The captain returned to his chair...it is more like a small throne with buttons and displays all around it. "Joseph! Fire the nova cannon at wherever they're launching those projectiles." "Yes sir should take about three minutes to fire." The nova cannon fired shaking the entire ship...The massive beam fired toward one of the luanch sites. Detonating upon impact. "As far as we can tell it was a direct hit, what should we do about the creature?" "Nothing not 'till I meet with the other captains then we will think of something." "Alright sir." "Until then make sure we don't get within striking distance of that thing. Resend the message, I'll be in my chambers of anyone responds or I'm needed." The Captain unplugged himself and left the bridge.

Scavenged energy weapons fired into the air, attempting to intercept the path of the cannon. The net of plasma and lasers seemed to be useless, the uncoordinated creatures being unable to properly aim. Finally, 100 feet from the ground, the projectile was hit, turning it into a furious explosion. A true crater was not made, yet the plantlife and vines in the range of the explosion were eradicated. Badly balanced, the ignition blouder tumbled down the tube, and the was released through the unsealed tunnel, burning apart an entire forested area in a flash of light and heat.

This seemed to further anger the planet, as it released another mind-rending screech. Three more boulders tumbled, and three more mountains shattering magnificently, sending another barrage into space, incredibly heavier than the last.

The 15 stingships disengage the KK drives and switch over to their suspensors. They glide gracefully into the docking bay and touch down. Hatches open on the rear of each fighter simultaneously, allowing the pilots to disembark. The crew aboard the Ensis recoil in shock as they see the rather... disfigured pilots emerge. The pilots show no sign of noticing, indeed, they show no emotion at all. They stand at attention by their ships, prepared to disembark if neccesary, or to defend themselves with the promenently displayed plasma rifles slung over their shoulders. One begins to speak:

"We are the QUETZAL AI. We suggest that you allow us to speak with your leader-beings. We suggest that this ship fall back from the Target. We suggest that we start the planning as soon as possible. That is all we suggest."

After speaking this, the pilots return to attention, standing unmoving.

Lord Shirassi burst into space around the battlefield his heavily modified World Eater stripped of much of its excess metal was down to a puny 50km long, put in their stead was a more wieldy and battle ready design. Far more of it was actually ship. What gave it its length were two curving spike that arced out from the back of the ship about 35km in length.

From his angle he could see the enormous silvery body of the god wrestling with a barrage of assault from a seething planet that was hurling various projectiles out into space. He puzzled briefly about the planet but he had come for the god, it would make a superb weapon, this would cause havoc on a scale he’d never before managed. The World Eater: Yarris swung above the planet meaning to launch its own assault from there when Sharassi spotted the other ships present. What in hell he bellowed various plates around his throat lifting off as his screamed. Cabal destroy this lot… destroy it all I came for the god and I will not have these pathetic mortals interfering in my business.

The Yarris performed an enormous feat, the two side guards still present at the front of the ship lifted up level with the top and from the construction pit now dangerously exposed poured forth hundreds of small unmanned attack fighters. Unlike normal World Eaters these were specifically developed for battle, the flow of these ships spread like tentacles from the Yarris on course to attack the numerous fleets gathering around the unknown and active world.

IC: QUETZAL noticed the disturbance that its mannerisms were causing. Perhaps a more human approach was in order... The pilots shuddered slightly as the AI disengaged Symbiosis. QUETZAL remained within their minds, but the pilots now controlled much more of their own actions. They relaxed obviously, mecha-dendrites retracting and masks sliding back into their subdermal sheaths. There now, much less disturbing. They could almost pass for unmodified human, if one failed to notice the nodules the 'dendrites had retreated into. The wingleader walked up to one of the crewmen assigned to escort the pilots. "Very sorry about that. QUETZAL can forget it's manners at times. Now, the captain mentioned something about our quarters..."

OOC: JJR: Ah. That explains alot. biomechanical is the way to go. I did, but I think I leaned a bit towards a hive-state, though. Me thinks I'll try to avoid that part of space for a bit...

Still OOC: Seneca: Just some background on my nation: Most of Otagia's population is pretty normal, except for an implanted nano-processor/DNI/quantum comm chip. Said chips form the base for most of the QUETZAL AI, though many city-sized bunkers filled with QUETZAL mainframes are maintained. Most of the time, the population is pretty normal, though the AI devotes a large portion of it's memory to monitoring the populace to prevent crime, make the colonies more efficient, etc. However, soldiers recieve much more extensive cyber-surgery: Armor plating, internal oxygen supply, digital weapons, etc. More plugs, too. During combat, QUETZAL can take control of the soldiers, using all of their senses at once (artillery spotting has never been easier!) and coordinating them to an extreme degree. Oh, and once the soldiers retire, I do make a point of replacing most systems (just combat ones, really) with vat-grown parts.

Oh, and thanks for the complement on the torpedoes. Ever read the Commonwealth Series by Alan Dean Foster? Anyway, we are willing to modify the torpedo design to fit the tubes on your ships. Only obstacle would be the cost of the missiles themselves, as well as figuring out a way to make the firing mechanism compatable. Or you ould always buy Stingships. I'm rather sure they take up less room in your bays than Thunderhawks. Or would the Adeptus Mechanicus disapprove? ;)

Ancient though it might have been, QUETZAL was still impressed by the power of the Imperial technology. Still, QUETZAL was strong, and had persuaded the Spirit to allow it access to the Ensis' auspexes. The arrival of the World Eater startled QUETZAL slightly, but it still informed the pilots of the incoming hostiles nearly instantaneously. While the World Eater was likely out of range of the Ensis, QUETZAL still took the liberty of informing the Machine Spirit, and let the Captain decide the proper course of action...

Lord Maa’ntks two World Eaters sped rapidly to the latest known position of the Dzillish God of Silence. He could almost smell victory. He could hear bursts of power coming from somewhere, but he was forced to assume that they were coming from weapons being used against the God of Silence. He hoped that there would be some left when this was over… perhaps it would be possible to re-train it and hire it out to nations. That would make more sense really. He could see some money in the venture after all.

Smashing their way through the systems thick Oort cloud Lord Maa’ntk was confronted with the site of the planet, now identified as the source of the emissions hurling projectiles out into space. He new that planet was uninhabited, it must being doing that by itself somehow. If it were possible Lord Maa’ntks eyes would have lit up with greed. This was more powerful than the God… this would make him richer than he’d ever dreamed, he must have the God and the planet.

Getting closer to the planet he spotted something that was even more unexpected. Neither the planets northern pole he saw a dreaded sight. The World Eater: Yarriss, From beneath it poured black streams of ships. Lord Maa’ntk had come up against these before and new how dangerous they were. The Yarris had been stolen from the Xaxoss some years ago, and it looked like Shirassi had been busy.

Sending the World Eater to his right, the World Eater: Xargon to destroy the Yarris’ ships he headed directly for the god. The giant Xishill plunged through some unidentified ships, smashing many of them as it passed through their fleet on its way to capture Gene Wares errant creation.

OOC: The fleet hit was the zircon fleet expect trouble... and one thing i must warn about Okyton Word Eater (not the Yarris) is that whilst their "fighters" (theyre mining ships really) are very inefficient and completely indiscriminate. Ships that are destroyed are dragged back to a world eater and dismantled for metal no matter who they belong to, this includes other world eaters ships.

Five mountains exploded violently, spewing five hundred million metric tons of rock and metal into space at 1500 m/s, in an attempt to crush the annoying flies swirling around it. Two of the mountains were facing each World Eater, and the last sat in line with the God of Silence. Should all the large chunks hit, each "cannon" would dish out a monstrous 2.25*10^14 (225,000,000,000,000) joules of force.

IC: The guard escorted Captain Simmons to the bridge. Meanwhile, QUETZAL was busy feeding him and his wingmates data on the ongoing battle. It appeared that the planet-being had attacked the World Eaters, as well as the Star God, although it was difficult to guage damage at this range. Simmons mentally shrugged, and switched his attention to the Hector-class frigate that QUETZAL was calling into the area. The heavy weapons it carried would be of assistance in the plans that were being concocted.

OOC: Right. Time to start planning. So far, a planet has shot it with results upcoming, missiles worked the first time, but it just pulled away from the drills once they started burrowing. So it thinks it can beat missiles the same way hopefully. My suggestions are large amount of SCCAMs. Since they're missiles, it'll hopefully try to just try that withdrawing tactic back. Since QUETZAL aims the SCCAMs and controls their flightpath totally, the SCCAMs will just be piloted deeper into the thing if it tries that. Then I'll pull the trigger when I get deep enough. That and hit it from 15 different places at once. This thing may be over a mile long, but there's no way it can survive 5670 megatons. I hope...

Anyway, if that works, we'll each be 250 mil richer, before expenses. Also, I suggest keep shooting your own missiles at it, as we want to convince it that its tactic works. I'll start strafing runs with my Stingships and the Hector if it gets here soon enough. It has another 5 SCCAMs, so I'll use those as neccessary, with plasma storms for annoyance factor from everybody.

How's that sound?

The planet changed tactics. Vines withdrew from the mountains, before slithering around the hundreds of wrecked ships on the planetary surface. Powerplants were pulled from the ships, before the vines began to tinker with them, attaching wires, etc. Other vines wrapped together into makeshift barrels, into which the ship engines and powerplants were thrown. More tinkering took place, as the semi-organic barrel turned into a makeshift coilgun, and the planet began its rotation again. A humming denoted the readying devices, before one construct was hurled into space. Primitive red LEDs blinked, slowly gaining speed, before lighting fully, then turning orange, and yellow. The diodes fizzed out, and a thunderous explosion ripped through space as the engine overreacted. Volleys more came, creating massive explosions, even more so for the powerplants, until the supply seemed depleted.

Meanwhile, near the wreckage of detonated mountains, ten massive, glowing creations were connected into a broken 1/4 KM ship frame, as strange black vines, dripping with some vile substance, began to wrap around the frame.

The Yarris span as massive rocks impacted on its right guard, despite its double engine design that gave it greater stability it was still no match for the power of the planet and its weak bank controls meant that it was left spinning wildly slowly slowing.

The Xargon turned fast to avoid more rocks, they just missed it as the Xargon appeared to be the last thing targeted. Still swinging to the left small craft began to pour from the front of the ship heading for the twisting columns of Yarris fighters. Were the two convoys met as they twisted around the god massive arcs of electricity began to destroy the ships in huge numbers, and the familiar sight of workers ships dragging scrap metal back to the World Eaters began.

The Xishill had a different tactic it had turned upon its side by the time that the planets projectiles hit and so was merely knocked to one side, the rocks impacting upon the World Eaters extremely thick hull. It began to release its ships below the god nearer to the planets atmosphere. As they dove at the god they were largely repulsed, shining silver as they fell to the planet covered in whatever material the god was constructed from.

Now the god looked merely like a contorting web of silver surrounded by large sweeping, slowly turning strings of ships, winding their way around the god. When it was hit by the rocks from the planet they merely punctured straight through it, whizzing out into space toward the systems star faintly shining silver. Ship like explosives from the planet fired erratically up from the surface some missing and many plunging into the World Eater fighters, causing rippling waves of explosions, sending shrapnel hurling out into the void.

Under Lord Maa’ntks direction the Xishill itself swooped down into the heart of the combat, arms of fighters bending out of the way to avoid it as it entered the space in the middle containing the god. Ships pouring from the front swept the struggling god into the world eaters construction pit, bundling it deep into the ship up into the storage tunnels deep within the tail of the ship.

In the Xishills throne room Lord Maa’ntk sat back sighing, a job well done he thought. With the god safely contained he would be able to return to the silver star and deal with this mess.

In the Yariss’ throne room Lord Shirassi raged loudly at no-one, he ordered his fighters down to the Xishill. Leaving the Xargons ships behind as their faster engines powered them into the Xishills construction pit. They tore apart the forges and furnaces in their search for the storage tunnels, finally discovering them they relased the god out into the pit and out into space once more, leaving the ship effectively stripped.

Lord Maa’ntk ran from his throne and stared down at the contruciton pit in front of him, he could see it being dismantled by Shirassis forces but he was powerless to stop it. The Xishill itself had no defenses, and the weak mining craft were not able to repulse the sheer number of Shirassi craft after their expensive battle with the god. He craned his long metal neck round to see directly below the throne room. He could just make out a quickly approaching silvery mass, and immediately suspected the worst. They had released the God of Silence, and it was now coating the inside of the contruction pit ripping apart what Shirassi had left. He had no time to run before the silver goo crashed into his throne room. He felt it wash over his skin as it began to absorb him. With a sense of disappointment he felt his body be crushed and ripped into a paste.

Back in New Okyto City, planet Okyto Lord Maa’ntk opened his eyes. He found himself in a wall cubicle in Gene Ware house. Crassuss had got his mind before his body had been destroyed, this was not surprising, but the fact that he had been transferred into a new body rather than given to the MOTHER system mystified him. Still he must get back to the Silver Star as quickly as possible, before Lord Shirassi gained control of the god.

Ships began to rain down on the planet, before being collected and dragged underground, goo and all.

Back at the ship frame, more strange devices were loaded into the ship, and black vines finally covered the entire ship, besides ten circular holes that were plugged with what looked like thrusters, and hundreds of oddly-shaped barrels and devices pushing out from the front. Inside of the hull, vines packed any space that was not filled. With a loud mixture of strange, disturbing noises, the ship lifted from the ground, and began to lift through the atmosphere.

OOC: Seneca: Shoot it with everything. Missiles and torpedoes especially, but everything. Kill the thing DEAD! If the SCCAMs don't kill it, the rest of our fire-power will. Now, if you don't mind I'll start the plan. Let's hope it works. If it does, we'll both walk away 250 mil richer.

IC: "It's decided then," stated Captain Simmons. "Your capital ships will provide my men with a distraction, and our Stingships will perform a hyperluminous bombing run, slowing down to fire SCCAMs and accelerating away. Our Hector will remain out of range, and will attempt to finish the beast off if neccessary. This way, we'll suffer minimum casualties for maximum effectiveness. QUETZAL will provide us with symbiosis again, and will coordinate with your ships, assuming your tech-priests will allow it. May the God Emperor protect us, and send this abomination back to the pit that spawned it!"

After finalising their plans, Simmons and his pilots returned to their Stingships, while the captain of the Ensis powered up the weapon systems and prepared for the battle. The attack was about to begin...

The black... creature, it could be called, for it had one mind - sped through the vaccuum. Suddenly, it slowed to a near stop and flipped into a 90 degree turn, to face the incoming Otagian and Senecan ships. Five of the strange barrels released metallic seed shapes, lined with holes. From surrounding barrels, liquid spewed into space around the metal objects, before being absorbed by something within the shells' centers. And electromagnetic pulse sends the acid, bacteria, toxin, and virus-filled slivers across the two fleets. Black vines slid away from the sides of the ship, and the green constructs slid out, to hang in space, as the vines moved back into place and froze.

Back on the planet, black vines began to wrap around the individual hulls of the fighters, ingesting the leftovers from the God.

The World Eater: Xishill bgean to fall tail first into the atmosphere of the living planet, with the god still exuding from the front. What was left of Ma'at was struggling to keep it in space but the immense weight of billions of tons of metal were too much. Ever so slowly the Xishill descended into the planet, leaving itself a massive monument to Okyto soaring miles into the sky.

Sensing her desruction Ma'at dissolved the engine, the design of which must at all costs remain a secret, and with a roar of flame that scorched the atmosphere the last remains of the living World Eater died.

OOC: Is the God dead? I hope not, I want my cash and a planet can't very well use the money...

IC: Sensors detected incoming fire from the strange craft that had launched from the planet. The stingships quickly changed direction, and at their speed, they managed to avoid the incoming fire, and the little they did not was absorbed by the drive fields. The Hector frigate Bunyip avoided most of the fire, but a shard of one of the pods left a long gouge in the rear port turret. As the acid began to eat away at the side of the turret, QUETZAL jettisoned the wounded gun, preserving the rest of the ship.

"It seems our attack has been noticed. Bunyip, give that hostile something to think about while we complete our mission. You still have seven plasma batteries and a full load of SCCAMs. Keep it off our backs!"

The Bunyip turned to fire upon the strange organic vessel, raking its surface with plasma.

Meanwhile, the Stingships began their attack run. Swooping by the God and planet at near-light speeds, they jettisoned the SCCAMs, which quickly broke off and dived towards the God, dodging incoming ground fire expertly. The fighters took one last look at the torpedoes hurtling towards the god, and shot off again, away from the conflict.

As plasma streaked along the side, the vines began to contract slightly, before withering and dying. The vines were ripped from the insides of the ship, flinging through the void, attempting grab at anything to help them survive. Strangely, volleys of fire continued to come from the ship, and the vines began to gain strength again, swelling to fill the gap. Each of the ten glowing boxes began to move, speeding towards the enemy fleet...

Back on the planet, vines began to slice apart the world eater with scavenged tools, and the augmented fighters began to gather around it.

The Amplitudo Ensis and the Patronus fides moved into firing range of the creature. Opening with an initial wave of torpedoes (12 per wave [six from each ship]) after the first wave a second wave is launched aswell as fire from the dorsal turretes. After the second wave is launched a third wave with torpedoes dorsal turrets and the lance cannons. then a fourth wave is launched this wave has torpedoes dorsal turrets lance cannons and the awsome might of the nova cannons(One on each ship). The god was begining to spread out once more, attacking the streams of World Eater ships now attacking the Yarris' forces. Without being able to dodge several torpedoes thumped into its side, they did little damage against its laser hardened skin, but when the high energy beam of the Nova Cannon hit an odd reaction took place. AS the blinding light struck the god it spread across its flowing body. The entire god began to glow a slight white as it heated up, until it finally rained back onto the planet.

Screaming with fury Lord Shirassi ordered his ships back to the Yarris, and turned to leave, speeding away from the battlefield, ships from the last remain Okyton World Eater still following him, many rapidly dropping back.

OOC: Did that do it? Is it dead? Well, I'm pulling back a bit to assess the damage... And whatever happened to the 5000 megaton might of my SCCAMS? Whatever, as long as it's dead. And I know I killed at least 150 grams worth of it...

IC: The wing of Stingships swooped back around, gauging the damage. While they did this, the Bunyip was still engaged in a vicious dogfight with the strange bioship. They seemed to be evenly matched, even though the bioship was more than twice the size of the Hector Frigate. The plasma fire of the Bunyip lanced along the hull of the bioship, but the vine and hull of the thing grew back as quickly as they were burned away. The bioship was faring little better, with the Bunyip's KK drive absorbing the entirity of the incoming fire, as it was facing directly towards the bioship. While this did lower it's accuracy significantly, and prevented it from using its SCCAM torpedoes, it did distract the enemy significantly, and kept the already damaged Bunyip in the fight. A few stray pieces of seed-like projectiles nicked the sides of the ship, but they didn't manage to penetrate the thick armor plating. All the while, the Bunyip tried to maneuver the bioship away from the fighting (and hopefully winning) battleships and now torpedo-less stingships.

The black abomination ceased firing, as it merely let the energy since into the vines. Without any resistance, the glowing cubes flung themselves at the ship, detonating massive amounts of shrapnel and chemicals into the ship. Behind the ship, a cloud began to block out the stars, as the swarm of reclaimed fighters gathered. One last set of waves eminated from the planet, "You have lost. Leave now and extend your feeble existance, or die."

If you don't want it, say so, and I'll give you 25 mil USD instead. Once you finish the picture of course... Anyway, back on topic:

IC: The drive field of the Bunyip managed to catch much of the incoming blast, but could not get it all. QUETZAL registered multiple hull breaches on the Bunyip, which reeled away from the bioship. QUETZAL immediately sealed off all non-essential passages (OOC: i.e., all but the crew compartment, as they're all rigging from one room). The ship was still spaceworthy, but most of the weapons were damaged, and strange chemicals were eating away at bulkheads. Emergency systems were able to limit the corrosion, and stop its advance, but the damage had been done. Luckily, the crew was still unharmed, and so was the KK drive.

--QUETZAL to all pilots: Due to massive damage, the Bunyip is withdrawing. We suggest that you confirm that the Target has been eliminated. We suggest that you then evacuate the area. We suggest that you return to Otagia for refueling and compensation. That is all we suggest. QUETZAL out--

Captain Simmons flashed a quick message to the bioship and planet. "Unidentified intelligence: We are QUETZAL, and we wish to prevent hostilities between us. We apologize for disturbing you, as your... awakening was unexpected, and your initial response hostile. We wish you no harm. We will soon be leaving this system, and request that you allow us to evacuate our vessels peacefully after confirming that our objective in-system was met. We will await your reply on this channel."

The Stingships began to circle the edge of the system, avoiding the strange organic ship and the hostile planet. The Bunyip, meanwhile, disappeared in a flash of color as its KK drive fully engaged, propelling it towards a safe harbor.

(OOC: Activating a KK drive on a planet or within its atmosphere tends to cause super-hurricanes, cause massive tectonic instability, and other assorted nastiness) All the while, QUETZAL was feeding Simmons information on his surroundings, as well as the status of his men. The captain was relieved to notice that the Bunyip had survived its fight, and had managed to reach an Otagian space dock before the remaining oxygen had run out. Repairs were going on at the moment, with damage estimated at $2,000,000, divided mostly between weapon repairs and sealing the hull-breaches. Well, at least they made it out alive. The guns trained on him were starting to make the captain nervous, so QUETZAL chose to inject a mild sedative to calm Alex's nerves. Much better...
