OOC: This is a thread to show the conquest of Taiwan and Ostrov Sakhalin (Thin island directly north of Japan). If anyone wishes to RP the defense of either place, feel free, though I would prefer it if Earth III members RPed, rather than other nations.

With a war going on in S. Korea against Eternal-dragons, The Phonenixius Council deemed it neccessary to aquire further territory in that area. Europe was crowded, with little room for territory gains, whereas Asia, Afrika and Oceania had plenty of room to spare. Initial reports showed minimum international presence in these two areas, and they would allow for forward bases to be placed in case attacks were needed inland. With the Phoenixius North Pacific Command (PNPC) Fleet engaged in S. Korea, the Phoenixius South Pacific Command (PSPC) Fleet, currently based in New Zealand, would be sent. Envoys were being sent to A Few Rich People to keep New Zealand safe.

"What the damn nation? They want us to do what? Send our entire fleet towards Japan to civilise more natives. Pah, should be easy. We'll have to hope that A Few Rich People doesn't get too bored and try to take us over while we're away. Prepare the fleets, I want to be away and back again before people notice."

A few short hours later the first few ships of the PSPC Fleet began to leave the docks. There would be a few ships left, but mainly for protection against smugglers and immigrants, rather than an invasion force. Besides, Oceania had been relatively quite recently, with only A Few Rich People really close, and he was aiming for East Australia.

General Tatay Laurel sat around his dark wooden desk surveying the encrypted message he has just received from Upper central command of the Eternal Dragon Empire.

However for now we would like you to conquer Taiwan by any means possible........And considering you are nothing but a mere arms-length away...We expect you to conquer it first.....

Upon reading this, General Tatay let out a soft chuckle, obviously pleased with the results by his happy toned facial expression. Finally after this brief chuckle he slowly whispered to himself, his lips still somewhat slightly smirking.

"...Indeed for the Empire.......For years I have been subdued...But now is the day I will shine old-father of North Korea"

Minutes later he complied with the orders and sent instructions all across airports in Manila, and other various cities to prepare the dogs of war for launch. The P.I.N.F (Philippine, International, Naval, Fleet) was also prepared at ports for launch, the brand new subs now being equipped with Non-nuclear warheads to strike fear upon enemy ranks. The few Missile Silos were also prepared to strike, and the North Korean Elite guard within the city, was also loaded into various aircrafts for some sort of Para landing over Taiwan if it was required. However the most important aspect prepared to launch, the most feared army within modern warfare today, the hackers army.

Indeed they knew that Taiwan's tech packed quite a punch, and if that was stopped, they would be nothing more then a human punch bag.

Upon reports that Phoenixius navy was preparing to launch from New Zealand within a day or two, they proceeded to commence the operation, the invading forces ready to depart.

-----1 STAGE OF OPERATIONS: Hackers attack Taiwan Infrastructure--------

Since the brief engagement with Taiwan during the China-N.K days, N.K special forces like in most countries, operated there at one time or another. The result was the gaining of Top-secret-documents containing info about their new supercomputers for controlling a battle. Initially it was supposed to be used as an asset to the Chinese, however as time went on the N.K choose to hide it, including under the helm of Sephoto Bloodlust.

Now was the time to put it to the test:

====P'YONG'YANG, Underground I.T department======

Finally after much waiting the silence was broke, Central command agreed to begin operation " Puppet China". Minutes later all that was heard in the vastly advanced room of computer hackers and equipment not known to the west or east, was the constant sound of typing and various code breaking abilities.

It took a while but eventually the password was cracked, resulting in complete access to Taiwan’s infrastructure. Seeing as they did not have much time, they then sent a newly-developed virus , that made most viruses looked like a game to attack the Taiwan’s system. Its objective was of course to stop all programs associated with the infrastructure to close down, therefore resulting in a nationwide blackout as such.

This even including things such as "Traffic lights, Tracking systems, Jet systems, Missile Tracking systems, And pretty much anything else, as all of the main government owned I.T was often relayed to the infrastructure.

Only time would tell if it worked.

=====Taiwan, where the central supercomputers are located=======

A panic struck the room like never before. People whizzed around like headless chickens, their eyes in awe at what was happening. To regain control the president secretary of Intel and Defence started to speak, in a rather crude attempt at gaining some unity.

"What is going on someone tell me please......"

"Sir someone has virused our supercomputer....Almost all our systems related to it our infected.. Malfunctioning .....or ceasing to work at all!!" Shouted one of the workers in a brief spurt of panic.

"But How.....!!!!!!Are you saying all systems are not working under government control....?" Shouted the Sec of defence, his facial expression now engulfed in a bigger sense of panic filling the room.

"Yes correct sir"

"And who did this..." Shouted the Sec. of Defence once again

"We don't know yet sir but we suspect the Chinese or the Russians..." Whispered the officer meekly.

"And when is it back online?..."

"Not for at least a week sir..."

"Damn it" was the final words he said before a stray bullets struck his and the other officers head, dropping them almost instantly to the floor. Then out of the now non-functional lights appeared a rather young looking man, an obvious operative for the N.k because of the various bodies all now dead by his A.k 47.

Seeing all the bodies now lifeless, the panic now gone due to their death, he smirked slightly, before removing a button beneath his suited attire. Upon pressing it a large explosion engulfed the room, killing him instantly whilst also sending debris and documents hurtling across the room.

This would now take a lot longer to operate again, and this is when Stage 2 would commenced

---------STAGE 2 , DELTA IV SUB ATTACK-------------------

Despite the huge success of the hack attack, the operation was not finished yet, as whilst this was happening, two divisions of Delta Iv subs (8 in all) were indeed vastly creeping up on the now weakened Taiwan, the radar obviously not picking them up due to its inactivity.

---------Several Minutes later--------------
The Delta Iv taskforce now drew to a halt, their Tactical Ballistic Missiles now within range to strike the pitched black country of Taiwan. So without haste the Delta's positioned their targeting system at the enemy’s key buildings. The first barrage of attacks by the powerful ballistic Missiles, was too target the capital's central area, as this was the place which housed the government and many of the other key sites still accessible to the government.

So after much targeting the first barrage of missiles homed in at the capital, their accuracy obviously not a problem due to the now disabled nature of Taiwan.

Upon impact, plumes of dark black smoke began to engulf the capital, the smoke suggesting that the capital had been hit hard. As the missiles strikes, the vibration the blasts created was enough to register a reasonable position along the rictor-scale.

Seeing the apparent success of the missiles, another set were launched, this time targeting key military bases. Like the capital attack plumes of black smoke soon followed. However this time, it had more of an effect due to the fact that the air force and the naval had been virtually wiped out due to them being present their. Many of the remaining defences were also hit hard it was believed within the strike.

Now all that remained was the capturing of the weakened city.

The air force had arrived. Two dozens of F-16's, Mig-29's and f-14's. And with the B-52 and remaining transport means to come, it would soon end.

However upon arrival they continued in their usual V formation, targeting key military bases, Communication pylons and what appeared to be left of Taiwan ground forces, seeing as their air and sea had been wiped out.

Nevertheless not taking anything for granted, the surprisingly well-trained Filipino pilots barraged the southern area of Taiwan with missiles, causing the sky to once again turn black with smoke. And although it seemed relatively easy, a few were still shot down by the small numbers of manual air defences in place, as much of their computer equipment was rendered ineffective, due to the virus

------Five minutes later--------

Soon after that the remaining invasion force arrived from the south, the brief attacks by the aircrafts securing a beachhead. But seeing as they still may be in danger, roughly 50 Apaches and 25 Hind's accompanied the landing force, shooting down anything that dared rebel.

Once secured, the famous Korean designed transport ship began to unload its crew, releasing a few divisions of infantry and armoured divisions. To avoid being hit under attack, fighter planes and helicopters patrolled the skies, scanning for any resistance that dared attack.

Finally the final phase of this swift movement was initiated. As B-52 bombers began Para-dropping of members of the infamous Crusaders( A less well-trained group then the elite guard) to support operations on the ground in capturing the cities



So overall the mission seemed to be so far a success. Although they knew that the war was practically won.

With losses so low....This was could be the greatest in Eternal Dragon History

"Commander, it seems like eternal-dragons has beaten us to Taiwan. The've begun intial deployment of troops already."

"WHAT! How the hell did they know we were attacking there? We haven't told anyone, not even the captains of the ships yet - they've got sealed orders. Right, send a quarter of the fleet to Ostrov Sakhalin, and the rest to Taiwan - I'm not going to loose more land to those pesky Imperialistic idiots!"

Taiwan, several days later
The fleet had been rushed out of port, leaving only a quarter of the fleet behind to take on Ostrov Sakhalin - Taiwan was more important. The ships sailed into Taiwan waters, on the look out for eternal-dragons ships and aircraft. Fortunately, the majority of Taiwans defences should be out after the nation-wide blackout.

Mikial chuckled reading the small readout, did they really think we wouldn’t notice the mobilization? Or maybe they thought our own problems with ‘Unionists’ would draw our eyes away? No matter, New Zealand is of little use too much gold and not enough strong metals. But Taiwan, though it too lacks in most major resources what it does have would allow us to slow soil mining. What makes it better is that chaos already ensues…

He leans back in the chair, his blood red robes flowing every so softly as he shifts, he muses, But is it better to throw our forces into the storm for such a pile of sand and gravel? No… but, eyeing the recent telegram from Phoenixius, they do seem to be the most cooperative at this time…

As for help, I believe that it would be useful. It seems that eternal-dragons has beaten us to Taiwan. We have a fleet just arriving, but any help will be useful, as we are unsure of their level of readiness and defense.

As for the base, we gladly accept. Of course if we fail to gain Taiwan, there will be no such base, but we expect to win this war, especcially if you help us. Also, if you require any materials from Taiwan, we would allow you to gather what you will.

By day the ground forces continued to pound the remaining enemy positions, whilst taking much of Taiwan in the process. They were also indeed supported by the various Air-divisions, who constantly kept the enemy among the defensive. And although the initial success was working well, enemy ressistance was still somehow about, occasionaly engaging allied forces in short but sparadic battles.

Nevertheless the divisions pressed on, knowing that only one prize remained, the capital of taiwan

Seeing as enemy forces may be arriving soon, plumes of black smoke were heard as allied fighters and attack helicopters pounded where the enemy was thought to have been. During this time Indirect fire was also heard attacking enemy positions.

Finally after the bombing ended, B-52's dropped of the crusader regiment within the urban centre, a few B-52's suffering minor damages from remaining air emplacements and ressistance fighters. Whilst this happening the various divisions began making their way within the city from various positions, in a sort of pincer attack upon the enemy

The PSPC fleet closes on Taiwan, watching smoke coming out of the Taiwan capital. Fighters are readied on board the carriers, and the battleships and cruisers begin targetting enemy positions, ready for the go ahead for the invasion.

"My my my, two offers of friendship... but I think staying with Phoenixius would still be best, his control of Austria can be of much use to us later if we ever wish to get deeply involved with Europe. But making an enemy out of Eternal could prove annoying at a later date, so best to reply to their plea," Mikial decided.

Though we see why you would ask our help with Phoenixius we must decline. We feel they can offer us more in the way of routes and strategic positions than you can. Furthermore, we believe that your hold on Taiwan will not last and that backing you would only lead to more deaths on our side, however, we will refrain from totally assisting Phoenixius but we will still help (meaning we will send no ground forces, as they would be…unpleasant to the infrastructure of Taiwan). So despite this enmity we hope trade can still exist between our two nations.

The second part of the PSPC Fleet had left New Zealand and was well on its way to Ostrov Sakhalin. Preliminary reports had shown a typical, Russian outlook: the poor har little food and essentials like clothing, and their economy was virtually nil. Only the civilians fear of the ruling Party member, and their suspicion of the military had prevented riots breaking out. The fleet had food and medical supplies to hand out, as well as clothing. But their first objective was to remove the govenor of the island, and get rid of the military. Then they could begin the revamping of their economy.

The troops landed at Ostrov Sakhalin, with little resistance from the natives. The civilians were cowering in their hovels, and what military was on the island was no where to be seen. The troops moved towards the govenor's house, aiming to take out the govenor of the island before he could escape or do anything else.

The troops made good headway, until a band of the Russian soldiers jumped out of nowhere, and began firing at the Phoenixius troops. AS their training kicked in, the soldiers dived towards cover, and began to return fire. AS it ended up, there were only a few Russian soldiers, and they had been stunned by the Phoenixius' soldiers reacitons.

Before long, the Phoenixius army had gone through the entire island, routing out all the remains of the govenor's militia. Food and clothing had been spread around the civilians, while soldiers prepared the govenor's old house for the new Phoenixius ruler. It would take several years before Ostrov Sakhalin was ready to do exporting to the rest of the Phoenixius Empire, but that didin't matter - they had new soil to prepare.

After severe pounding by air,sea, and land forces Taiwan fell. Despite this sudden invasion, they were met with a reasonable amount of good reception, as many often despised the government for the huge rich-poor divide present within the country. Seeing this, the opposition forces were told to appease the civilians, thus resulting in help rebuilding towns and infrastructure destroyed during the war.

=====Sea between P.I and Taiwan===========

Upon expected flanking of the allied forces, minecrafts were asked to deploy division upon division of various types of mines, thus hopefully thwarting any effort from the enemy in taking the island.

Also various airbases in the Northern Industrial parts of P.I were put on alert, as well as the reassemly of land divisions to transport to taiwan in times of need.

Leaders of Phoenixiua......We ask you once again to please stop this attempted attack.... seeing as the country has no real importance in economic or military value......As what is the point in fighting over such a pathetic island....?...Also seeing as the battle is all but finished we are now rebuilding the country's infrastructure and will also withdraw troops as well....However as a way of improving ties...Perhaps a slight amount of resources and various free trade agreements can be proposed...Imagine the empire we could create together with joint military's.........

Three hundred Strategic bombers were prepped. Their fuel tanks full, their munitions loaded, and pilots ready.

“Strike force one, you are go for launch.”

The sound of three hundred pulse engines heating up filled the airfield, pulling onto the runway one by one, the planes took of towards Taiwan airspace, careful to avoid any other land mass (such as Indonesia) that was in the way. They had plenty of fuel for this trip, designed to hit as far as Africa or Russia, Taiwan was close.

“Ok, teams target information is being uploaded…and done, good hunting” replied the control tower and the planes streaked off at near mach three.

Explosive Load: 600,000 lbs (total)

The PSPC Fleet hoved too in sight of Taiwan. They watched the minelayers going about, before the admiral decided that have some fun. Several ships were dispatched to deal with the minelayers.

The small group begins their attackso nthe minelayers, firing repeatedly at the various ships until they had been destroyed. They hadn't seen any eternal-dragons vessels other than the minelayers.

The trap had worked like a charm. As as the incoming fleet engaged the allied mine layers, operation "Suitcase" began, which would indeed result in misery once again. So as the attacking fleets approached the rather small mine-layers, the orders were sent through to initiate the attack, thus resulting in the self detonation of many of the minelayers. The resulting explosion covered the skies in plumes of black smoke and radioactivity, as it indeed now was understood that the explosives contained in the hulls of the ships were indeed so called "Suitcase bombs", the ones that had the ability of a small nuclear attack which could easily level a city combined.

And although everyone had sacrificed themselves for this war, the losses of the enemy would send a sterner message that off

120 Gencor-V fighters were launched, heading for the enemy positions on Taiwan. They would release their payloads, and decimate their positions.

A while after this was heard, sirens were signalled as civilians scurried to their safe points whilst military personal did likewise. Loud movements were also heard as fuelled fighters were released into the dogfight, whilst patriots and A.A bateries were set up. Because of the short notice many often took shelter in small but safer bunker positions ready to strike down the enemy with small arms fire...

Location: One mile off the coast of Taiwan; 65,000 ft above sea level

The three hundred bombers pulled within sight of land and the signal was sounded.

Hundreds upon hundreds of missiles dropped from the plane's bays and wings. As the planes curved back towards Australia the missiles fired towards Taiwan, seeking preprogramed targets, from tanks to trucks, to bunkers to A.A. sites.

Seeking and finding targets across the landscape, they began their low altitude approach to their unsuspecting targets below.

As the fighters flew in towards Taiwan, they began the process of activating their stealth measures. Using the Wraith system, they made their aircraft invisible to the naked eye. Then their Archangel systes cut in and made it much harder to radar to get a lock onto the aircraft, rendering them pretty much invisible to radar. To all intents and purposes, the aircraft had dissapeared.

Meanwhile the fleet began final preparations to bring their weapons into range to hit the enternal-dragons fleet that was lying close to Taiwan.

The subdued sound of silence filled the now militarised beachhead, whilst the generals continued conducted operations from their neatly armoured underground Bunkers. Rumour had it that the enemy had launched an initial group of fighters, with which would be the initiation for a much larger outfit of fighters. Based on this intelligence the country had been preparing for what it perceived as a large-scale bombing designed to cripple the allied key areas.

===Underground bunker located within the Beachhead of Taiwan====

"Sir radar has picked up the initial Dogs of war..Shall we prepare to engage?" Asked one of the officers.

"No wait for my command...They are out of range for the moment.."

Soon after the initial comments the fighter’s stealthing device commenced, resulting in various outbursts of panic filling the area.

"SIR...THEY HAVE DISSAPEARED OF RADAR...WHAT SHALL WE DO?" Shouted the same officer in a frenzied panic.

"Calm down cadet......Check for heat and other various energy residue...Stealthy as they may be..They of course always lead clues.."

The cadet simply nodded as the resulting staff proceeded to do as ordered, and thus resulting in a small green blip to appear up on the radar screen. As this happened a loud cheer was heard as the commander ordered to engage the enemy. This was going to be a bloody battle indeed.

===Beachhead=====

The skies lit up with such intensity and valour as the Self propelled and Manual Anti air emplacements engaged the enemy's fighters, thus resulting in the first major skirmish for Taiwan. Soon after various R.P.G equipment was fired from its position along armoured cars, rooftops, bunkers etc, and to make matters worse, patriots were set up to engage the enemy using the small energy residue data to discover the enemy's aircrafts.

And although despite the well-prepared defence, buildings were set ablaze with civilian assets like, thus ending up in thick black plumes of smoke hovering over the area.

However just as the battle seem to come to a close, the next group of enemy fighters came in, this time at a much larger size than before. Nevertheless the allies fired back with the various Missiles and other Anti-air weapons designed to inflict as much damage as it possibly good.

And although the resilience of the allies were impressive, the sheer number would eventually cause major infrastructure damage.

Hello this is Taiwan News International; I am your host Jo Chan.

Today the battle for Taiwan has begun by air.
====Screen switches to the Beachhead where the destruction lies.=====

It commenced about 6:00, where the first group of Imperialist fighters bombarded the beachhead area. And despite the government’s best efforts of peace talks and evacuation of civilians, many have died. Worst of all affected is the civilians, which have rumoured dead in the thousands. People hear are now left with no where to go, at a time where they are just adjusting to new management they have to recover again, which at all the time has infuriated the people to such a degree that they will fight the enemy to the last man.

International reaction was just as bad as expected, with worldwide condemnation of the enemy for not negotiating a peaceful solution rather then a militaristic outlook. Because of this, sanctions are most likely probable, and unless the enemy Axis pull out, international interaction is most likely probable.

On other news, the world-famous Eternal Dragon tennis player, Russian Dimitri Ackbar has been arrested whilst on tour in Australia. This arrest may not seem so strange as he is the son of Sephoto Bloodlust's right hand man, Jecht Ackbar. The reason is most likely on terrorist charges, although this could further tarnish its countries international pressure.

Just a while from here Missile crafts were being deployed in small numbers, the reason being most likely to counter the enemy's fleet threat with its proven hit and run methods. The silkworm’s missiles would indeed down a ship in one.

The high-speed bombers speed home as the enemy below opened upon with a salvo of missile fire. Though safely out of the range of the man launched weapons a few A.A. sites were with in range.

“I got twenty missiles inbound on my screen, gold-1”

“Copy that red-3, I see them to, kill radar and radio chatter, activate EMCs, and drop flares and chaff if they close in on ya, gold-1 out.” He called out over the bandwidth.

*Bwoop, bwoop *

Screamed gold-1’s threat alert, an enemy missile had locked on with radar. Dropped out of formation he set his plane into a slight climb, letting the missile follow him upwards before dropping the nose while releasing a load of chaff.

The missile veered off, its signal scrambled by the hundreds of metal reflectors and by the EMC.


13 planes lose

Upon the ending of the barrage, reconstruction efforts began once again. People worked around the clock on fixing the breaks in the national power grid, whilst others worked on reinforcing various bunkers and natural emplacements.

However considering the civilians were at the highest, rescue teams worked around the clock freeing them from the rubble, although despite being freed, many often had nothing to go back two.

And in case another enemy attack resumed, civilians were now being trained and equipped in small arms fire in case of overwhelming numbers.

Indeed the battle may have resulted in many losses, but the war would rage on for many years.

As the ships pulled back away from the island to reinforce the Malaysian fleet the command went out from Australia.

"Scorch it."

Bombers of all sorts began lifting off, their targets ranging all across the island.

Their payload? Napalm, thousands and thousands of tons of napalm.

There would be losses of planes, but it really wan't importent, only the old models would be lost. But Taiwan would be naught more than a cooling ember by sunrise tomorrow.
