The blue ink on the page had barely had time to dry before telephones were ringing around the country, whilst secure faxes began printing out reels of documents at several key installations.

At Portadown Naval Base, sitting 41 miles up the Territory River, the huge shapes of three Nimitz Class Carriers and eight Iowa Class Battleships stood, moored to their piersas they had been for nearly a decade. Their grey bodies still shined in the early morning light, naval cadets were trained how to properly clean ships on those of the reserve fleet to keep operational readiness.

Several mechanics were already at work in the huge turrets, removing breech blocks, and turning the massive structures.

Outside the base diesel engines were heard, as several five tonne trucks drove in past the Marines that guarded the Nuclear Reactors still on the carriers. Those were currently being unhooked from the national power grid, where they had been providing power for the town of Tilbury as the local power station underwent repairs. However they would have to do without power for a few days, the reactors were needed for other purposes.

Under the great Rocco Mountain Range, the cavenous halls of the Air Reserve Base Neverland were filled with the sounds of jet engines.

One by one the thousand or so aircraft had their engines wound up, and structural intergrity checked by teams of technicians and mechanics that were working with an increased zeal when compared to usual. Just five minutes before, two Air Force Generals had been inspecting a line of B-52H StratoBombers, that were now being towed out towards one of the eight runways that were hidden beneath shurbs two and a half miles away.

They weren't even bothering to move them at night, any half decent nation with a satellite would see them no matter what the time of day. So they did it to suit themselves.

Once the B-52s had been moved out, the first line of FA/18D SuperHornets were exposed. Even as they began to get towed out, C-130's began arriving with Navy Pilots for them and the F-14s that were also stored here.

At four more bases across the country the same happened, along with two other naval bases. The estimated cost was $235billion USD. However the country had to be protected, especially in the current time of unrest.

Retailiation was unlikely, but they had never been caught unprepared and were not about to start now.
