The Offworlds, these space ships float above the nation of White Dwarf. They hold vast amounts of civilians and act as holding bays for White Dwarfs military.

Next to Offworld 4, Minister Toro (The Minister of Science, and Captain of the Offworlds) was experimenting with the Gate, a teleporting devise. The Gate had four sections that when joined together formed a ring. These sections could separate to allow large objects to pass through.

"Is everything ready" Minister Toro asked the bridge crew of Offworld 4.
From the bridge Minister Toro had a perfect view of the gate floating fairly close to the Offworld,
"All power sources are charged minister," replied one of the men monitoring the gate,
"Each section is ready, waiting for your order," One of the other three men said,
"Right, begin,"
With that the ring began to charge up, in a few seconds vast amounts of electricity were passing between each section of the ring.
"Minister, the ring is holding, no warnings yet,"
Minister Toro watched as the four sections from the gate shot electricty inwards. Minutes passed until the gate was full powered,
"Minister, the ring is at full power. Opening a passage to the gate located near Offworld 7,"
"Passage is clear, portal is open,"
"Good, increase the power, let’s see what this gate can do,"
With that more and more energy was sent into the gate. The bolts of electricity could be seen flowing into the centre of the ring,
"Minister, the portal is leaking. I don't think it'll hold,"
"Ok, shut off the power,"
"Shutting off power,"
The crew watched the gate, the power was shut off but it wasn't stopping,
"Where is it drawing its power from?"
"Minister, look at the ring,"
The ring was the civilian part of the Offworld. It is connected to the Offworld by a tube that allows access between the Main part of the Offworld and the ring. The tube also spins the ring creating gravity for the civilians inside.
"What is that," Minister Toro said as he watched,
Energy from the gate had jumped out and formed a power flow with the Offworld,
"Minister, we're loosing power, the gate is drawing energy from us,"
"Turn on the engines, get us out of here," Minister Toro demanded,
"No use minister, we have no power, the gate is pulling us in,"
"Do you know were it is sending us,"
"No, the original destination has been changed. I have no idea where we are going,"
"Minister Toro," yelled the communications head "a message from Offworld 7, the same thing is happening to them,"
"Anything else,"
"No minister, connection lost,"
"Well get it back up,"
"I can't minister; Offworld 7 isn’t where it's meant to be. In fact, it's nowhere to be found,"
As soon as the last word was said, Offworld 4, and all ships nearby were pulled into the portal.

"What happened?" Minister Toro asked,
"I don't know minister," replied one of the crew, "Everything is fine, we have no power though so the ring has no gravity,
"What about nearby ships?"
"Every ship is accounted for; everyone came through the same portal,"
"Minister, I have found Offworld 7," replied the communications head, "Along with every other Offworld, they all came through the portal,"
"So everyone came," Minister Toro thought as he looked out the window, "well, there’s our planet, it looks different though"

"Ready for planeshift?"
"Aye, sir."
"Commence planeshift in five minutes, everybody else strap in."
The six ships of the Tenth Patrol Fleet outside Rath glided silently through the mostly empty void. Mostly, they were bored.
However, as the ships began to shimmer and reality gradualy bent over on itself, something happened...
Generaly its thought to have been a passing thaumic field givin off by Rath, others think it was random chance. It any case the planeshift was thrown off...quite a lot.
As the small fleet reapreared somewhere...else, the Fleet Commador Leon Tyrandis screamed into the ships comm crystals at the mages on board.
The mages had no idea what happened.
"Ships sighted sir, unkown class. Havent seen them before." A comm mage prodded his slightly fuzzy crystal.
"Signal them, ask them where we are and what the hell is going on, tell the fleet to go to combat ready status, but dont do anything threatening. If they make any advances put the shields on full and charge the main guns."

MESSAGE:
Unkown ships, greetings from the HMS Blindspot , this is the Tenth Patrol fleet off of Rath. Unfourtunatly something seems to have happened because we dont seem to be above Rath anymore and the comms say that Rath isnt responding. So, has anything unusual happened on YOUR end?

"Minister Toro," One of the crew said as they approached the minister, "We have compeleted our third check, all Offworlds are here and every Offworld has all their transport ships. There are also three gates that came through."
"Did our gate come through,"
"No Minister, surely you would know a gate can't pull itself through,'
"Yes, I Know, I was just hopping,"
As Minister Toro finished speacking one of the communications crew called out,
"Minister Toro, we have a message from a nearby ship. It's not one of ours,"
"Put it on my screen," Minister Toro said as he pulled himself to his desk

"Right," Minister Toro told the communications head, "Send a message back, tell them what happened to us and that it was probbably us who pulled them here,"
"Right away minister."

HMS Blindspot, This is Offworld 4 of the WD Offworld Coloney Fleet (OCF) We are sorry that you came here. Early today we were doing tests on our transportation system. We overloaded our system and got brought here, at the moment we think our transportation did something to yours. If you wish, we have two docking bays for your ships, you can land there if you want. You will see the open docking bay. We appologise, at the moment there is no gravity on our offworld.

Blindspot here, that doesnt seem likely, our charts say this is some distance from both our start point and where we were going...that would have been quite a disturbance.
Docking is not needed, in any case we very much doubt your equipment would be much use with our technology, most notably a lack of electrical systems and so forth.
Other than that...we arent getting any signals from the planet. The scryers are saying that there are cities, but something is screwing with their CB sets.

My ships are converted sailing vessels using thaumic technology (magical gizmos) to (for example) keep their atmosphere in, fly about and shoot things. Most of them are straight conversions, they still have sails and can float if they have to.
I forget to mention that sometime. If you want more details I can link you to some of my tech threads.

Maybe a modern nation was screwing around with some sort of gravity or time-travel tech? Somebody pushed the wrong button and sucked us through a black hole into the parallel NS universe?

"Minister Toro, the HMS Blindspot replied," The communications head told Minister Toro,
"Very well, send one last message; we want to get as many allies as possible,"
"Right away minister,"
"How are we going with power," Minister Toro said as he floated over to the power board,”
"Not good minister," replied the Power Head, "There's nothing left on this ship, the only power sources we have are going into the computers, we'll have to pull something from the other Offworlds,"
"Ok, get in touch with any nearby Offworld, if anyone needs me, I’ll be in my quarters," Minister Toro replied as he floated towards the exit and into the hallway

'HMS Blindspot, we are sorry we can't help you. We will stay in touch with you though and tell you anything we may find, we wish that you will do the same to us.

"Prepare the satellite imagery cannons. Set them up to take pictures of the northern part of the planet. We must get all the information we can get back to the consulate." Commander Higo told his reconnaissance crew.

"Sir, we are picking up some kind of transmission."

"Can you try and pinpoint where it is?"

"From the frequencies and the static, it seems to be on the other side of the planet."

"Wait... These readings aren't coming from the planet? When we started to plan this invasion this planet was seen as harmless. Give me clarification."

"Yes sir. I will try and pick up a clearer signal."

"Send a message to the Naroun. Tell them to prepare weapons. Its time we actually test our weapons agaisnt real targets. Those techhies better have made useful weapons. Tell them to inform the destroyer convoy as well. If they are what you suspect them to be, one Battleboat might not be enough. Tell the reconnaissance fleet to continue with their picture taking, we will lead the battle convoy towards the suspected area of the transmissions."

Monocanjh is a nation that has just recently been able to create red-drives, basically numerous mass-drivers connected to one ship. Fastest sub-light engines accessible to Monocanjh. First planet encountered. Numerous recon flights have taken place above planet to see if planet is useful for colonization. Recently discovered that planet is inhabited by a steady growing population with semi-modern technology. Monocanjh Consortium is currently discussing plans for invasion on planet. Battleboats are biggest ship in Monocanjh fleet, specs will be given about all ships used by Monocanjh, even if it does not come to war. Moncanjh weapons are mostly still ballistic.

" Offworld 2 here, we have had no problems with our power source recently, "
"Ok," replied the communications head, "Do you have a ship to bring a battery over?"
" Yes we do, " replied the communications head of Offworld 2, " we can give you enough power for you to last on low gravity for three months, "
"Excellent, when can you send the transport?"
" It should take at minimum, four hours, "
"Good, I’ll open up a battery container in three hours,"
" I’ll inform the driver, Offworld 2 out, "
And with that the com-link when silent,
"Inform Minister Toro," The communications head said as he turned to look at the Offworld's loudspeaker operator, "Tell him we will have half power in four hours,"
The operator nodded and went to work setting up a signal to Minister Toro's quarters,

The loudspeaker in Minister Toro's quarters turned on, waking the minister,
"Minister Toro, half power will be restored to the Offworld in four hours,"
Minister Toro took in the information and went back to sleep.
