Aston Martin is a name that needs little introduction. It has always stood for fine, civilized high performance sports cars, designed and produced by skilled craftsmen. An Aston Martin combines three important elements in motoring: power, beauty and soul. There is a special place in the market and in the hearts of owners for classic sports cars which conform to this ideal. These are cars which bring to life the freedom and enjoyment of the open road.

It is with the greatest of pleasures that I announce today the deal made between Aston Martin and my own fine motoring corporation, Sejanus-Benz. Long ago Sejanus Motors purchashed Mercedes-Benz in order to improve upon our already excellent models. Starting early next year, Aston Martins will be sold to the universe alongside classic Sejanus-Benz vehicles, only further improving our product.

Greatness is expected, and you should be prepared for it.

OOC: Woo! My favourite cars in the galaxy on NS! Woo! Even a space tech nation has to have some of these...

IC: Human technologies are usually of no interest to us. However, this automotive brand is an exception; our wise and powerful Ghargon is very fond of them. As such, he would be interested in knowing how he could go about getting one of each type of (current, most recent) model for his own personal amusement.

OOC: Interesting. I seem to remember posting an advertisement (under another forum account) for my new flagship in The Great DodgeBall War thread (see my sig) quite some time ago, and it happened to have a picture of a car that looks remarkably like the Vanquish S. Perhaps I'll bump my storefront and add the new flagship, now that I think of it.

[OOC: Steel Butterfly is most definately a space nation, set in far-future times. Still, cars run on the streets alongside the speeders above them. As the article says, the cars will go on sale starting next month.]

[OOC: While I must agree with you that HotRodia Motor Corporation's Moderator GT-S looks quite similar to Aston Martin's V-12 Vanquish S, I assure you that the cars are far from similar in anything other than looks. Also, why I just "claimed" Aston Martin out of the blue is because some time ago, long before the forums went to Jolt, Crimmond had a enormous thread for NS nations claiming real-life car brands. I, like I said, gained control of Mercedes-Benz. (Not chrysler or anything, just benz.) Now, since I knew the nation who had control of Aston Martin, and he just died of inactivity, I claimed it. Still, since you aren't claiming your vehicle to be either a Vanquish or an Aston Martin for that matter, I don't see a problem in it.]

OOC: I don't either, especially since in addition to the different brand name and model name, HRMC is producing them with rather different horsepower ratings, etc. The Moderator is quite a different, and IMO better, car. Frankly, I think it's bad form to claim RL automobile companies, even in an RP setting, but you and the person who did it before you are certainly not bound by my personal standards of etiquette, so that probably does not mean much.

[OOC: Due to my far-future tech level, the Aston Martins of my age are considerably different under the hood than those of Earth's 2004 as well. At first I too agreed that it was bad form to claim RL companies, as well as RL nations, etc. however the enormous thread set up by Crimmond existed and was followed religiously for quite some time. I was merely looking back through my list of old companies, and Sejanus-Benz popped up. It got the ball rolling once more for me.]

Steel, are you waiting for someone to try to buy Aston Martin from you, for say, a small fee? :)

No, just getting the word out. They go on sale in January...in a new thread.

How much do you charge for a Vanquish?

($255,000.00 is the RL MSRP Price)

Well, factoring in the improvements due to my tech level, and the travel cost, and the conversion from US Dollars to Imperial Credits (a significantly more valuable currency)...I'm still not sure. Price hasn't been finalized as of now.

When you decide to sell, I would like to buy a few for, eh... *looks nervously around the room*national security reasons Yeah, that's right. We need a few in order to, eh.. check if they pose a hazard to the environment.. Yes. And as the caring leader I am, I shall test them myself. Oh yes! Ain't I caring? *politician smile*

Perhaps I'll purchase one under my other account for "comparison purposes". ;)
