Televised address to the nation from Vladimir Zhirinovsky

Comrades of Russia, fellow proletariats.... It appears that peace in the ex soviet union has no meaning. The British known as Bob-Bob had invaded kazakhstan and rid the nation of the government which we all known as Granzi. Although there have not been any diplomatic ties between Granzi and RF, we can not ignore the fighting in our soft underbelly. Not only Kazakhstan has fallen but Mongolia has too. Our Great science facility for space exploration known as Baikonor Cosmodrome is also under the threat of Bob-Bob raiders which we can not allow. I have given Bob-Bob 24 hours to to leave the nation, but there has been no response and for that, they will need to be removed by swift force. After this conflict, i hope that the leaders of Bob-Bob will have a good explanation for the loss of so many of the nations sons, daughters, husbands and wives. I hope that the soldiers of Bob-Bob refuse to fight and instead, return to their homes. Russian Forces is not an enemy of the people of Bob-Bob, but the government of Bob-Bob is the enemy. May there be Socialist freedom for the people of kazakhstan!

Group 2: Trotsky Positioned in: North Kazakhstan
Group 3: Zhukov Positioned in: North East Kazakhstan

OCC: All allies in this campaign, please tell me which part of kazakhstan you will deploy your troops, thus we would be able to RP in towns, cities and other areas of Kazakhstan.

Now the RP has not exactly commenced yet but a detailed RP will be coming shortly. Just to make those who scream "Number Wank" aware.

Vichy France, previously watching from the side-lines, had wished for a peaceful resolution to the problem. However, we see that Russian Forces is on the moral right side of this conflict, and we support it. We may even consider sending help, should it be needed.

The War Begins!

At the RF/Kazakh border, Russian border guards in their trench coats and fur hats begin letting troops pour through, as they open gates and notify the kazakh guards who are still doing their duty, that RF forces will pass. Of course some would not allow Rf forces pass their checkpoints and were brutally annihilated by the columns of vehicles. Others decided to let the Russians through because they do not wish to take part in this war. Behind the armoured columns are BM-21 rocket launchers unleashign hell upon suspected ground forces. The Thundering sound of rockets flying over the Russian troops is definatly a wake up call for the enemy. the sound of afterburners breaking the sound barrier could also be heard, as Russian planes enter Kazakh skies. The Russian troops morale went higher than ever. Seeing the might of their military made them believe that they were invincible and victory will be near.

Russian Forces begins its massive assualt on the enemy at all fronts. Task group Lenin is aiming to take Oral, Aqtobe and Atyrau, as for Task group trotsky assualts Petropavlovsk, Qostanay and surround Astana and Task group Zhukov will strike at Pavlodar, Semey and Oskemen. Due to the Ertis river being in the way, It will delay the forces in their advance, but armoured forces will be able to cross the river. However it is believed that tank movements will not be much of a hassle, due to the terrain being fairly flat, especially in the west. 2500 paratroopers and 500 BMD's are being prepared to be parachuted behind the river Ertis to secure the bridges for the forces so that armoured forces can be supplied by troops behind the armoured columns.

All air superior aircraft have been dispatched to engage Bob-Bob aircraft. At the same time, Tu-95 and Tu-160 bombers will be escorted by 2 Su-27's each to bombard Air bases in Northern Kazakhstan. BM-21 rocket launchers are also pounding the front line forces of Bob-Bob, but the enemies where abouts is not totally known, so casualties of the enemies will be unknown and believed to be low.

Imperial Forces
04-12-2004, 09:16
The CE has decleared it's support to Russian Forces. We have moblised 2,500 long ranged, high altitude bombers which will be sent to airbases in eastern and southern Russia. Of the 2,500, 500 have been given orders to go under command of Russian generals and take part in the invasion. The other 2,000 will stay in Russia help defend against counter attacks.

They will be in Russia in 24hours.

The CE will also be moblising 830,000 troops and the 1st-3rd Navy to be ready for assignment to Russia.
Russian Forces
04-12-2004, 10:47
We thank the military support of Imperial Forces. We have a belief that Bob_bob may have connections with the RWC and maybe planning to use Kazakhstan as a staging ground for an invasion of Russia itself. Its always good to ensure that RF is secure... especially right where its borders are. We plan to remove Bob-Bobs presence as fast as possible to ensure that not many lives are lost in this campaign. Allied support will always help limit collateral damage and the length of the war.

OOC: RF, can I make one thing abundantly clear, Kazak is full of mountains :D. Thus your progress isn't going to be very fast, even a top speed. Also, give Bob-Bob time to state his troop deployment areas.

Just to let you know RF this is the midnight before your attack m'kay. I said I would send Legions in two days, but the forces going in now aren't Legions they are my specialists.

Plus also a note to RF + Friends, my troops are all Mountain Specialists.

IC:

At midnight a few former Guild Doombringer Transport Aircraft flew into an huge airbase near Astana assigned to the Guild troops by Bob-Bobian Command, they carried their load of equipment and the entire 'Crimson Guard' Logistics Raider Regiment, plus their equipment. Close behind them in more Doombringers followed the 'Midnight' Regiment, with some recently acquisitioned artillery in order to secure the Airbase for the Guild forces, when they landed they began fanning out.

The Crimson Guard separated into groups of 50 and drove towards the probable front area (around Kostanay). They would get behind the Russians and cause merry havoc with their supply lines when they attacked. They knew the 'White Faces' would be landed soon near Atyrau (they would in fact land an hour later and do much the same as the Crimson Guard but in the area south of Orel), to help them attack the Russian supply areas. They would secret themselves in caves and other locations to await the passing of Russian Forces and then once this had happened go and assault supply and re-enforcement columns. It was also part of their mission to recruit bands of anti-Communist partisans to their cause, there was strong Communist feeling but there was also strong anti-communist feeling, they felt they could use to their great advantage. These pitiful fools would learn it was not wise to attack in such unforgiving terrain, against mountain troops.

Soon the 6th Air Legion would be in the Air Base at Atyrau and the 7th at the base near Astana. The Sabre Regiment protected Atyrau and Midnight protected Astana.

The Guild Headquarters were established in Aktau, where part of the Shadow Brigade had flown in roughly around Midnight in order to set up Command and Control operations as well as begin to prepare Aktau and the obvious bottleneck leading to it as killing zone for Russian Forces troops should they get this far. The Command bunker was being outfitted as the commander stepped off the plane: This was Lina Dragonis, come all the way from Z'ha'dum to command this operation with her came a few of her Bridgeburners (about 100) to serve as Guards for the Bunker itself, they all carried the new rounds developed in conjunction with Phoenix Militia loaded with Cyanide the Agent Injection rounds were fatal every time.

The news came from the Talon a few hours after Lina had arrived, Russian forces were ready to move. She decided to speed up the timetable the first wave of 10,000 Guild troops would land near Aktau as well as the 8th Air Legion arriving probably around Midday.

Supply Depots were being set up by the aforementioned units in all their areas of operations. The Doombringers thundered in and out of the airfields at a regular basis dropping off more logistics personnel and supplies. Moranth halftracks had already begun arriving to distribute supplies to personnel already massing...

It was going to be one hell of a war, but she relished the opportunity against such a worthy opponent... Russian Forces... Lina mused in the halogen gloom of the Command Bunker... she continued to watch the Bridgeburners trying to get to grips with the Command Cupola... a very clever Guild invention which effectively allowed the Guild Commanders to keep an eye on it's troops in true real time...

OOC:

As you can see my deployments are currently around those three cities and my logistics raiders are moving towards their areas and some of the troops beginning to prepare the bottleneck.

Logistics Raiders are highly mobile units with random weaponry (they get what they like; stolen or through the Guilds, they are effectively comparable to the Desert Operations of the SAS and Skorzeny's Operations towards the end of WWII.)

The three Air Legions are of the standard Guild Variety and effectively comprise:

400 Harrier II Interceptor Mods.
100 Harrier II Ground Attack Mods.

Also 30 Armed UAV's are attached to each Air Legion.

Note: Guild weaponry generally has a higher velocity due to the finer gunpowder variants and various chemical compounds incorporated into the making of the weapons and ammunition. Also, I use things like Chemical shells, Chemical Claymores and General Purpose chemical bombs, these are NOT WMD's, they work like an air bursting shell, which sprays highly corrosive chemicals/acids onto troops, effectively an anti-personnel weapon but still can take out soft/in any way open vehicles. As for tanks it will take continued exposure but it will cause a tank problems in so far as it may cause the gun barrel casing to thin, perhaps causing a pressure blowout in the barrel etc. You get the idea. :)

Oh, just so you know there's going to be 1500 'Swirl' Transport Helicopter (Chinooks) and 4500 'Doombringer' Heavy Transports (think Hercs) bringing in supplies + troops.

2nd Armoured Cavalry Regiment, South Western Ukraine

Lt. Col Franks moved through the train carrying the lead squadron of his troops. They were in the van of VII Corps move through the Ukraine towards the Russian border itself.
As the train rattled from side to side his men sat, some awake others trying to sleep on the soft cushioned seats meant for short journeys. Their personal weapons stowed in the overhead bins that were more used to shopping bags.

Behind this carriage were the flat cars carrying the 12 M1A2I Abrams Main Battle Tanks and 18 M3A3 Bradley Cavalry Scout IFV’s of A Troop, 3rd Battalion. Painted in their green camouflage pattern they looked out of place on the back of the dull brown trucks, but every so often a maintenance crewman would swivel the turret in order to make sure that it was working, and to relieve the boredom of the four day train ride.

On trains behind them the rest of VII Corps followed. Two Armoured Divisions and three Mechanized Infantry Divisions, along with all of the logistical personnel to keep them going. Forward near their destination C-130’s were already moving equipment and supplies into position for the approaching troops, in particular C-5’s were now picking up the Aviation Regiments that were such an integral part of the formations now moving east.

12th Air Superiority Air Wing, Air Base 120miles north of Kazakhstan/Russian border above Oral.

The familiar whine of jet engines was heard coming from the Eastern side of the expansive airbase. Four days earlier the “Screaming Eagles” or the 2nd Fighter Squadron as they were also known, had moved in along with the 5th “Wild Boars” Fighter Squadron. Since then the pilots had been studying maps of the country all around, and preparing themselves for possible enemy action. Now with a full complement of maintenance crew and support units they were ready to go.

Already an E-3 Sentry AWACs aircraft was up, orbiting some 20miles east of the airbase, with its massive radar looking down on the area all the way into Kazakhstan. Flying lazy arc’s around the converted passenger plane were 6 F-15CI’s of the 2nd Fighter Squadron.

One by one the rest of the Squadron taxied towards the end of the runway and slowly advanced their throttles, taking off at ten second intervals as the sun rose on the second morning of the Russian attack. Even as their landing gear folded up into the sleek fighters the pilots were already talking to the AWAC’s, call sign Alpha Lead, over their secure encrypted burst communication radios.

Once they were up, and orbiting after linking up with two tankers to top of their fuel tanks, the F-15s broke into three flights of two and began to cruise ten miles north of the border.
Whilst this happened the Wild Boars were doing their pre-flight checks. Major Dan Hackerty did a quick survey of his controls, all blinking green, as he got into his aircraft after the visual inspection. His crew chief, a Hispanic father of four, climbed up and strapped him in before thudding his helmet twice as the ‘ok’ signs were exchanged.

The Major looked at his weapons load out. Two AIM-9I’s in the side bays along with 6 AIM120C’s in his Centre Bay.

As he started his engines and taxied out of the concrete shelter the rest of the squadron formed up behind him and followed him into the now blue sky as he flicked his radio.

“Alpha Lead, this is Boar Six. We are a go for holding pattern proceeding to phase line Charlie”

“Roger Boar Six, proceed to phase line Charlie and hold at twenty”

“Acknowledged”

Three more squadrons of F-22’s and two of F-15’s were doing exactly the same, from separate airbases in the same area, and joining up with their respective AWAC’s controllers.

OOC: RF btw, that comment before wasn't supposed be patronising so I apologise for it, it was just i've seen so many NS nations just ignore terrain :), especially when it makes their actions much harder :)

Can I suggust we close the war, don't want a dogpile (no fun)...

Btw, what time is your air strike occuring RF? and i assumed you were attacking a dawn on the prescribed day, I assume this was the case? If not give me a shout and i'll change the timeline in my posts.

Btw, how are you supplying your troops. I assume by rail and road mainly given the terrain.

IC:

*a hour or so before dawn*

Lina sat in the gloom, the Black uniformed officers filed in taking off their peaked caps with the Wolves head insignia of the Guild Legions on them, whilst the general staff filed around the main control room doing the menial task of organising the orders from Lina and her sub-ordinates...

The halogen lights glowed creating an appropriate ghostly atmostsphere against the flashing screens, holographic maps and comm chatter.

The central map table activated and a map of Kazakhstan appeared showing the disposition of allied units, suspected enemy positions with approximates of how many were stationed etc as well as the current Guild deployments.

Lina cleared her throat audiably to achieve relative silence amongst the officers, she of course knew many of these faces well, they had served under her in the Wars of Isolation as well as in the various anti-insurgency campaigns she had commanded.

'We have a problem, the enemy is poised to attack, it maybe today, it maybe tomorrow the Talon are unsure' she stated, nodding to the Red cloaked Mighty Talon standing next to her.

'Now, we haven't the strength to go right into fighting the enemy. I have informed Bob-Bobian Command of this and have informed them we will mounting an insurgency and terror campaign on the enemy forces. We will ambush, snipe, attack their supply lines etc. Thus, the 'White Faces' and 'Crimson Guard' Regiments have been sent into hiding in the area South of Orel and Kostanay. They will be our prelimary striking force against the enemy, they will be mining rounds and generally making a nuisance of themselves. The idea as I am sure you all know well is to divert the enemy into committing lots of troops to the defence of their established areas and supply lines making their punches a lot less powerful. You all know the routine we are being joined by most of the 'Evil Eye' Sniper Regiment shortly they will be sent in a mild spattering in the same area, they will be targeting enemy officers primarily, but have been told to use their judgement as appropriate. We will also be giving each a cyanide capsule, as well as two clips of Agent Injection ammunition and three of explosive round clips, as well as their usual Ammuniton compliments. We are making this sacrifice so our allies can establish themselves properly. Lets make a meat grinder out of this war, my friends.'

All the officers round the table grinned, this is what they were good at... Offence no... but Defence oh yes...

'We will be building a defence line, now to be known as the Atrau Line around this area. It will stretch along the coast and over the bottleneck to Turkmenistan. These will be fixed fortifications of the Alpha Colony pattern, our main deployments will be here until we have reached a 10 Legion strength, then we shall be moving out to help our allies in the other regions. The Aerial Legions will be intercepting enemy for the moment, make sure they are on full alert, we may need them at any minute. This entire area is to be turned into a huge Guild fortress, I have order construction of tens of Airfields as you probably know, we will make sure if they get this far they lose hundreds of thousands if not millions. We will be the anchor, friends, we will not be moved without the enemy walking over all our corpses.' she continued.

It was a brutal pledge but they would do it. The enemy would be made to pay and those who die would do so in the knowledge of a full and wonderful afterlife with their Lords of Night and Shadow.

'The Shadow Brigade will be conducting further operations on POW camps, Headquarters and stiring up the anti-Communist feeling generally. We will be creating a few Kazak formations in conjunction with our allies. We will also be trying to form resistance cells within the occupied areas, we want to destroy any pro-communist feeling that exists, we understand it is a polarised political atmostsphere, use that...' she said, with that typical Guilder predatorial grin on her scared face.

She continued 'I offer you the words of Alucard Dracul as my orders to your troops, 'Shoot the Officers and Sergeants, then watch as confusion reigns' and 'Reveal in the massacre, What does not kill you makes you strong'. Now go and bring me the heads of every damn Colonel and General they send at us on the bones of their troops. Kellevend be with you.'

The Black uniformed men chest saluted and walked out chatting about the coming war. She hoped it would be as easy, as she made it sound... unfortunately with the amount of forces she had, she would be performing a holding action til the major Guild forces began arriving in real strength'.

Plus Bob-Bob's joined NWO, so thus my reason for being heres invalid... I came really as an IC/OOC favour to a friend.

Btw, I saw that map, if you do a google search there are a few on the first page that offer proper terrain maps. It's pretty mountainous generally speaking although you are correct in that it opens up a lot more in the West. I.e. not good tank country, so I would have used all sorts of irregular tactics to stop your armour and infantry :)

With my space forces being the Shadows from Babylon 5. A nice uber evil and quirky combo :D Also, planning the formation of the Technomage Order for additonal chaotic fun...

My MT Mercanery units (i.e. the entire of MT presence)... have lots of werid weapons RF, I created them myself in order to make RP's more fun and because conventional weaponry is boring. Besides, who the hell expects to have acid weapons dropped on them? Does the scorched earth/poison the wells, terror and hurts just about any unit (imagine the effect on delicate exposed instruments and your infantry)... :D

I can of course go off and create a load more... not too hard... :).

I'd be ok, with carrying on with this war/or another one/wargames if it had no bearing on the general NS world, we would of course have to make that clear. Otherwise we will start all sorts of problems, which would get me killed (bugger and I like causing problems too ;) )... as Twist talked of.
