TIMIOCATO (PPA) - It was a day of fiery calamity inside the New Prado this afternoon. Junior Deputy PM Lisa Lomas -- once thought to be a trusted friend of the Prime Minister and a serious contender for the nomination of Capitalist Party Leader once PM Ell retires in 2008 -- turned on that very "friend" and threatened the life of the nation's leader in front of the Senior Deputy Prime Minister and Agustinate of Defence before she was promptly taken out by the Prime Ministerial Guard.
Under the Freedom of Information Bill passed in the CLP and Senatoro in 1997, at least one person present in an area during a situation must report facts about the incident to the media. Senior Deputy PM Nikos Karagounis, who now looks like a lock for the PM nomination in 2008, was the only one willing to step forward and tell the media of the tragic events this afternoon.
"The Prime Minister, myself and Agustinate Venizelos are deeply shocked by the turncoat Lisa Lomas' actions this afternoon," Karagounis said earlier. "We believed her to be a true contributor to the actions of the government and a trusted friend and ally of the leadership of this nation, but we were wrong. Terribly, terribly wrong."
Karagounis revealed that the late JDPM and the three men were talking about actions to be taken regarding the unfolding crisis in Sarzonia when Lomas, who disagreed with a comment the PM had made, suddenly jumped up and brandished a weapon, believed to be a small pistol, at the Prime Minister. Karagounis said she revealed herself as a senior member of the GLNP and in charge of the GLNP mission to help the extremist Restore Sarzonia Task Force (RSTF) forcefully claim power in that nation.
Karagounis added that just after she had finished giving this information to the three others present, the Prime Ministerial Guard burst into the PM's modern glass-and-steel office and fired at Miss Lomas, killing her instantly.
Miss Lomas leaves behind her fiancee, Roberto Cristian Jasubasti of Il Monterio. Police notified him of the former deputy PM's death earlier this evening. Lomas' parents died in the Santo Ferlesci earthquake in 1991. She was an only child.
The Prime Minister's Office released a short statement saying they have appointed Hon. Paolo Fernando Orbitello, 58, from the Caza to replace her as Junior Deputy Prime Minister.

In other news, the Caza and Senatoro both voted strongly in favour of changing the titles of the Cabinet members from "Minister" to "Agustinate". This does not affect the Prime Minister or the two Deputies.
The people also supported it, with 81% agreeing with the minor legislation.
The general point of the legislation was to create a title for the echelons of government that is more Pacitalian and original to the nation. Agustinate (pronounced ah-goo-stin-ah-tay) is derived from the name Agustino, which can be interpreted as "Ruler". Cabinet members with portfolios will now be referred to as, for example, the Agustinate of Education.
