Citizens Of the Union of Asian Socialist Republics [UASR], I hereby inform you that a state of war exists between our great Union and the following states:

North Saudi Arabia
Kuwait
Brunei
For too long have anarchistic dictatorships existed in these lands - now, we shall end them once and for all. As I speak, our troops are poised to strike, to smite down the opressive regimes of these nations. For the Union!

12:30 PM, Saudi Border

Mohammad Al Arayn lit his cigarette, puffing on the tobacco slowly. On the border lay a line of tanks and BMP's, poised to strike at the North Saudi Dominion. There was a crackle on the T72's radio, and Major Al Arayn's comm man shouted up.

"Green light!"

The tanks rolled across the border, kicking up dust.

Two Hours Later
The Saudi forces had been slow to react, and the T72's had knocked out major bases on the way to Ha Il, the Capital of North Arabia. On the horizon, a line of Saudi Resistance Tanks were approaching.

"Major, incoming!"

"Give them a taste of the Union. Fire at will"

The T72's halted and opened fire, the autoloaders fitted to the turrets pounding shells at the inferior enemy tanks. Most of the Saudi Resistance Tanks were old - M1 Pattons and the like. They were easy prey to the T72's, which as powering forwards emptied shells into the hapless Saudis. That day was to be remembered as hundreds of Saudi tanks lay burning in the desert as the T72's thrust forward to Ha Il, the thick smoke and the stench of death remaining behind for days.

Five Hours Later
After mopping up some dedicated infantry charges, the T72's were entering Ha Il, the BMP's following behind. As they pushed their way through to the government building, the ramps of the BMP's clanged to the floor, rifle infantry pouring out. After about half an hour of fierce fighting, the government building was liberated and the corrupt dictator of North Saudi executed.

OOC: You do know the Saudi military is prety up to date, US army equipped and trained in some respects. About M1 Pattons tanks, they happen to have Abrahms tanks.

Yes but Saudi was owned by someone else... then they left, and it was free. Therefore I'm assuming they took their military with them, and left them with crappy stuff. At any rate, Iraq will be harder.

The Northern Saudis have been hit. What should we do?

"Sorry my dear. I've gotta go. Government business." He kissed his wife and left the room, heading for the elevator that was going to bring him down to the underground bunker, where the military staff were gathering, no doubt.

As the doors to the conference room opened, Rothsky walked to his place at the end of the table.

"What's happening in North Saudi?"

"Well, we've recieved news that the dictator of North Saudi is dead. Shot by the invaders. How are we going to respond sir? " It was general Marc Olson, Chief of Staff who spoke.

Rothsky sat in his chair with a neutral face. "I think that we're just gonna watch a little while before we make any moves..."

OOC: Ummm... toppling a nation within 7 hours?

It took the USA 2 months to liberate Iraq. I'd estimate your assault to take at least a month.

The North Saudis were in dissarray. I haven't said its all over yet... lots more major terrorist strikes worse than Iraq.

Let's see, 2,500 trained tanks that outgun you, suddenly smash into your borders... the North Saudi's would have no real quarrels. They would just be reunited with other Saudi's.

Task Force HOPLITE was originally assigned to protect the vital oil industries of Tyrandis in Kuwait and Iraq against any foreign or domestic conflict. This pipeline of crude kept the wheels of government and country turning smoothly. Nothing could be allowed to interfere, lest a total collapse of the nation occur.

Now, however, it looked like two allies were about to go to war in the dusty plains of southwest Asia.

As the men assigned to HOPLITE readied their arms, vehicles and defense systems, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was drafting an ultimatum to be issued against the Hogsweatians...

Troops and tanks churned out from the Asian factories was being sailed into Saudi Arabia by the hour, tanks and artillrey rolling out their transports and onto the hot Saudi desert. These weren't T72's though - it was the latest in Hogsweatian design, the T84H [T80 with upped gun and armour]. Troops with their rifles slung over their backs, peaked forage caps tilted on heads, helmet straps coming loosely down faces, poured off the transports in droves, while trucks drove nearby supplying to and fro. It had begun. The Middle East WOULD be united, and it WOULD be in a Hogsweatian Socialist Paradise.

The BMP's, recently sprayed beige, swung their 30MM's to and fro as they sped into the desert, troops riding inside on the scalding metal.

Aircraft soared above, trails from the Mig 29's lighting up the night sky [let's say its been about 1 day] as the tanks rolled alongside the motorised infantry, driving straight past the old border. It would only be a matter of time...

General Keith Windsor looked out at the vast, rolling plains of Northern Arabia.

His Galaxyhawk UAV flights, accompanied by RAVEN spy satellite photos, had the latest intelligence on Hogsweatian troop movements, all of which were deeply troubling. It was evident that the Communists were going for a strike north.

The Tyrandisan 5th Armored Division, as assigned to the defense of oil and petroleum interests for the country of Kuwait, was the frontline for the defense against the Hogsweatian armies.

Attached to this division were several M-270ER MLRS batteries, as well as a large aerial contigent based from the Persian Gulf, composed of one wing (60x) of TSF-28B Seraph Air Superiority Fighters and several VTA-68 Lancer Attack Helicopters.

From tactical data gleaned from the extensive Tyrandis spy network, the General knew that he enjoyed a considerable technological advantage over his opponents. Unfortunately, they also outnumbered him by almost two hundred to one.

Reinforcements were thus called in, but Windsor knew that they would never arrive in time. The best he could hope for was for his own division, the 5th AD, and the other two Mobile Divisions in the area, the 8th MD and 16th MD, to bloody the Hogsweatian armies badly enough to convince their government to turn back from their mad enterprise.

And so preparations were made.

A huge minefield was set up near the southern borders of Iraq and Kuwait. ATGM positions and Merkava Mk. V MBTs, supported by M-7 St. Christophers armed with 30mm ETCs, were fortified, as well as RADAR and communications systems.

E-2E AWACS, supported by flights of TSF-28B Seraph navalized fighters would establish a perimeter, to coordinate strikes from Black Arrow SAMs.

The wheels of war were turning, and it was only a matter of time before the standoff turned hot...

Pilot Eremsky Tukolevon was sitting in the mess hall, talking with his plane's crew, when the alarm sounded. They knew what was going on - they ran outside, donning their gear. The makeshift airfield was home to a Wing of Tu 160's - 9 Aircraft, in total. As they climbed into their craft, the leading plane took off, the others following it.

Major Al Arayn was unhappy. His forward unit had been requipped with these T84H's, and to be honest, he thought they were shit. Well, his complaints would have to go unfiled. The tanks sat docile on huge sand dunes across the border, the Artillery MRLS just setting up behind them. The Huge 300MM Rocket's made Al Arayn feel safe. For now.

The Tu 160's were flying low, missiles prepped. Their target's weren't military... they were the oil rigs that had been erected.

"We'll show those capitalist oil mongerers! Engage comrades, for the homecountry!"

The Tu 160's unleashed their cruise missiles at the oil rigs, after the last salvo they turned before the Tyrandisians' (that right?) could follow... (You can still follow them)

Al Arayn sighed. When would they get to fight? The order to standby was given ten minutes ago... *ding!*

The Major finished his cigarrete, tossing it casually into the sand, to be lost forever. He slammed the hatch down, and fell inside the tank. He picked up the mic, and adressed the tank division.

"All units, we are about to engage the enemy. Form up and advance in a wedge line. We will be supported by infantry"

The tanks moved to formation and the wedge advanced, the 2S6M Tunguska Anti-Aircraft Artillery in the middle...

Also taking into account the lack of 'expansion territory' in Earth(II) at this time, The Knight Templars also feel that perhaps Templar help is needed in order to secure a more perfect harmony.

The Principality of Gintonpar is most displeased to see Hogsweat expanding in this area. It advises Hogsweat to stop its advance immediately, we will tolerate you holding North Saudi Arabia but if you advance any further we will intervene on the side of Tyrandis. We also have trade with the oil companies in the region and will not hesitate to intervene if we feel the freedoms of ordinary Kuwaiti's and Iraqi's are at risk. However, we are prepared to tolerate your occupation of North Saudi Arabia as a way of both appeasing you and of the stability you will bring to the region. Do not think that we are weak, but we would prefer not to see any more blood spilled and will not hesitate to intervene on the side of Tyrandis if you continue with your advance.

The advance into Kuwait and Iraq will not be halted. Iraq and Kuwait are provinces of the Arab Empire and we are uniting Arab's together.

The Knight Templars now give full official support to Hogsweat, and are preparing troops to send as an expeditionairy force in Kuwait to aid Hogsweat.
Also, by coincidence, these Templar troops would have no problem engaging Gintonpar troops, given the slander we have endured from said nation.

We will not take assistance from Imperialist dogs! The Knights Templars will remove themselves from this region. If you choose to land in Kuwait you will find our citizens angry and our soldiers vengeful (sp?).

The USSR has signed several NAPs with Cotland, and as such, we shall not violate their sovereignty of the Suez. This is not to say that we accept your invasion - it means that we are not in a viable position to assault you.

Cotland will remain neutral in the conflict between Hogsweat and Gintonpar for the time being. As mentioned earlier, any foreign military ship, vehicle or aircraft entering Cottish territory will be escorted out away from Cotland. In the port of Karachi, 1800 Hours:

The Indian Ocean fleet was being prepared for dispatch. Dockworkers scrambled up gangways with crates in hand as cranes loaded nets carrying crates of provisions onto the decks of the vessels. Great hoses of fuel were busy pumping gas into the destroyers and cruisers while munitions were loaded onto aircraft carriers. Weapons crews were busy testing their missile systems while the final preparations were made.

In thiry minutes, the fleet was already moving out of port into the Indian Ocean.

OOC: Sorry for the delay, I've been kinda busy with the Operation Brimstone thingy.

As the ancient, yet terrifying, Soviet bombers entered Iraqi/Kuwaiti Airspace, MINERVA Fiber-Optic-Laser Defense Arrays mounted near the Tyrandisan oil derricks were activated.

The pinnacle of Anti-Missile technology, the lasers had almost double the effective range of the THEL system developed by the United States thanks to a vastly improved RADAR targeting system, as well a much more cohesive beam. Not only that, MINERVA used less power than the chemical lasers in THEL, as the advanced fibres retained over 70% energy efficiency, compared to the less than 40% of the U.S iodine-based system.

When the Tupolevs released their munitions, the vast array of these defenses opened up. Flash after flash of the red bolts dotted the skies, prematurely detonating the payloads on the missiles.

However, as with all systems, it was not perfect. One drill position was destroyed, and the surrounding six were heavily damaged.

Not all would be lost, however. E-2E Hawkeye AWACS quickly picked up the fleeing bombers and sent some twenty TSF-28B Seraph Air Superiority Fighters after them, moving at Mach 2.5 on supercruise at an altitude of over 45,000 feet, high enough to avoid most SAMs.

Once they caught up and received the kill order, these birds would blast the bastards from the skies.

Along with a couple B-2s sent out seperatly, they are rapidly approaching their targets while remaining wary of Tyranian guns. If Tyrandis forms an alliance with the USSR, we will pay reperations for damaged oil rigs and for your mobilisations and we will also give you discovery rights to any oil you find and also 60% of the oil in Kuwait and Iraq. The Imperial Principality of Gintonpar does not intend to fight an offensive war so far from our lines of supply. We cannot prosecute such a war against both Tyrandis and Hogsweat. However we would condemn any changing of allegiance by Tyrandis, who had first entered the war against Hogsweat. We would see this changeing of allegiance as cowardly and very materialistic. We will not pull out but we do not plan to reinforce the military presence we have there. We will not abandon The Knights Templars, but we do not see it as viable to fight a war so far away from our own possesions, as we are already stepping up our military presence in our new Russian lands. However we will not cut and run, we will make a stand, we simply cannot afford to get dragged too far into a war so far away from our interests. Our military presence stands at its present strength.

Given the strain on Gintonpar, and the recent realization of Qatar's proximity to Parthian territory, The Knight Templars have chosen to accept the tyranny that now reins in Kuwait and Iraq. We are still most interested in obtaining Kuwait, and would be very flexible in the process. However, The Poor Fellow Soldiers of Jesus Christ realize that war is not the answer, so all armed forces are secured in Qatar.

The Gintonpar forces will pull back to the safety of Templar held Qatar. We have been fighting hard on our beachead, but now with the withdrawal of the Templars from the area our position has become untenable. Our Navy has seen almost no action, apart from fighters flying sorties from the aircraft carriers, and so has negligible losses. However we have lost around 100 various MBT's destroyed, and roughly 150 damaged. Only 40 APC's have been damaged, and due to the lack of a major offensive, only 16 have been destroyed. The infantry has fought exeptionally well, inflicting great losses on enemy forces, however, we have payed the price with 12,000 dead and around 30,000 wounded. We have also lost around 40 fighters, and 7 bombers have also been knocked out. However we do not wish to give more precise details of our losses. Although we can also confirm that around 30 of our helicopters have been downed in the combat area. We are now pulling back to Qatar to safeguard the sovereignty of The Knights Templars. From there we then plan to evacuate back to bases in Mexico and some of the fleet will be sent North for exercises in our Russian territory, and some will be sent to increase the strength of our Northern fleet. The Imperial Principality of Gintonpar still opposes the expansion of the USSR in the area but realises that it cannot fight alone so far from home, so our forces will move back to Qatar to prevent the invasion from spreading any further and as soon as the situation is calmer there we shall pull out completely.
