Harbin (AP)- Today, speaking from the Church of St. Alexander Nevsky in Harbin's Little Moscow, Archbishop Grigori Batov of the Russian Orthodox Church in Upper Xen called for the Russian Church to "excommunicate the pretender that wishes to usurp the powers of God and the powers of the saints."

Speaking in front of a packed crowd, he said the following words:

"Peoples of the world, a grave threat has arisen. The Czar of Mississippi, Roger Fabus, has been in communion with Catholics and has declared himself a saint. This usurpation of holy power cannot be tolerated."

"His imposition of a new, manmade Gospel on his flock of misled innocents is against the will of God, as only God has the power to write new parts of the Bible. It is written in the Catholic Bible he holds so dear along with ours that those who add to the Bible will recieve extra suffering in the Second Coming of the Lord."

"Also, we cite his neverending train of abuses, killings, and his abominable RSBW-04 biological anti-race weapon to declare our case. Has this man done anything to deserve sainthood? No. He has only brought madness, and carnage to the world. He is not even dead! Living Saints do exist, but they are merely those who are gracious and aid others in time of need, and the title is an honorary one, not even in official usage! They are kind and well mannered. Roger Fabus is not."

Reflecting his conservative stance, Batov then said, "Nevermind the fact that he was a Catholic Saint, he as an Orthodox Christian should not have been partaking of Catholic sacraments. He cannot serve two masters. He must either choose to be with us, or he is not one of us."

He concluded by saying: "We in the Russian Orthodox Church of Upper Xen do not recognize him as a saint, and do not recognize him as any holy person, or do not recognize any holy document he writes and declares canon to be as such. We seem him as the new Antichrist, come to lead the children of God astray. As he has blasphemed the will of God, and the Church, and has granted himself powers undeserved of such a wretch, we ask the Mother Church [the Russian Orthodox Church] to excommunicate the pretender that wishes to usurp the powers of God and the powers of the saints."

"We also encourage those of the Church in other lands ruled by the Antichrist Fabus to rise up. Do not aid the Volunteer Guard, the White Knights of Mississippi and the White Knights of Mississippi Crusading Knights, the National Front Parties of Mississippi, Spain, or Portugal, and the Mississippian Government in general, they are devils in disguise and agents of the Antichrist. Resist the Mississippians any way possible."

He was greeted with cheers and cries of "Amen!"

President Gordon Lew has declared, "We do not back Archbishop Batov. Simple as that. The man is his own man, and we do not subsidize any of his efforts. If he wishes to lead a crusade, he can do it with his own money."

He took on unpopular cases when he was a lawyer from age 14-17.

He saved his wife's life by throwing himself in front of her when their car came under fire in South Africa from insurgents.

He granted amnesty to every single political prisoner in the gulags his father built (over 10 million prisoners).

He granted the jews in eastern Mississippian Egypt, near Alexandria, the right to remain if they remained peacefully.

He's not some warmongering butcher that you make him out to be.

Ooc- Actually, it was developed secretly during the Curtis years, Roger ordered the development canceled when he came to power, but it was already in production, thus he just ordered it shelved and stored away so it wouldn't fall into the wrong hands. Through creative filing, William Fabus of South Africa, was able to get most of the supplies stored in South Africa and thus William has access to it.

OOC: I knew that, and all of those things...but for the sake of IC, Batov doesn't know that he did those things, and he only just heard of the RSBW-04. But the assumption on my part is that Batov wishes to get others, and the main Russian Church to excommunicate Fabus and raise hell for him. Sure, the Mississippian Russian Orthodox Church may have its own powers and autonomous Patriarch, but it also has to answer to somebody at the end.

No offense, but we've got Russians in Manchuria in our land, and they do not see Fabus as a good guy.

Anyway, Batov is a conservative man, and one who has a really big social conscience. He, too has given aid, helping Muslim war victims in Yunnan, donating funds to fight cancer, and has established orphanages and schools in Manchuria, Central China and Tibet for the poor. He wields big influence among the Russian Community in Upper Xen, and whatever he finds "heresy" is usually taken by his flock (this includes violence on TV, lowriding jeans, etc.) to be as such.

I was again, feeling that this would make a nice RP....perhaps a visit from the Patriarch of Jackson City to try to get him to stop ranting, or a Religious Cold War concerning charity (a war to see who is the most charitable, if you can comprhend that) would be a good scenario.
