OOC: NationStates Time Scale

Based on the idea that 1 RL day = 1 NS year, I was able (and bored enough) to extrapolate the following time scale.

NS............RL
1 hour = 10 seconds
1 day = 4 minutes
1 week = 28 minutes
1 month = 2 hours
1 year = 1 day

But, In IC-RP, this doesnt work, seeing how sometimes it is RL time in RPs and sometimes it may be something like 1 RL Day = 1 NS hour...

So really, there is no time scale.

The 1 RL Day = 1 NS Year is mainly for storefronts, also.

In IC-RP, most people slow down to real time or even slower than that. The fact it doesn't work in such is not disputed.

Also, the 1 RL day = 1 NS year is used in technological development documentation threads, such as my own, for how long it takes technology to advance. The scale I posted allows people a bit of greater control than how many years it takes.

Just use fluid time, where it can change depending on the RP situation.

Just allowing everyone to grasp the fact the RP has an "bendible" timescale, and can be put into any way necessary to roleplay in the way you wish.

Now for others comments, DemonLordEnigma.

And Celtayoshi, that is right. Really, and IC thing has its own timescale that the maker can choose and change anyway he or she wants.

I agree, sometimes it's just not practical to use 1 NS year = 1 RL day, especially in a war when that would mean a war could last 21 NS years if it took three RL weeks to finish the thread. That's why the concept of fluid time exists. It's not perfect; I use a different measure of time from other World Cup players when I do the sports competitions and I age my main and recurring characters by normal time, but it works for most people here.
