In a horrific display of events, President Spencer, Secretary of Defense Galka, and National Security Advisor Wills were shot this morning as their motorcade entered the capital city. All three were rushed to WyattLand General Hospital where, three hours later, President Spencer was pronounced dead from gunshot wounds to the neck and chest. Galka and Wills were treated and released.

Meanwhile, following the shootings, newly elected President McGinnis was sworn in, vowing to crack down on crime in Wyattland.

The Emperial Goverment questions the wisdom and democraticness of holding a federal election without notice or campaign time, as no one would have had time too prepare, and thus be forced to vote for you.

President McGinnis is only an interim President until an election can be held. We always have someone ready to be "interim" president in case such an event as this happens.
