The President Raslin, in a rare public appearance, walked out from behind the stage. News reporters frantically fought for the front stage area, as the President Raslin shuffled a few papers on the podium. A camera-man gave him a quick wave, and he was ready.
"Chellians, Lodossians, and the world. I come before you today, after a largely important issue occured. Chellis has left its political and military status in NATO, and all formal ties with the alliance have been severed.
While I am not at liberty to divulge specific reasons, they mostly have to do with corruption in the top levels of administration, and the wrong message that the alliance sends to the world. It has also hurt chellian ties with other nations.
We hope to keep up ties with the various friends we have in NATO, however. We do not want this to be seen as a for nato, or against nato sort of thing. NATO members have come to help Chellis in time of need, and we are thankful.
More information will be available at a later time. Thank you for coming, I will be taking no questions." The president said, as he retired to the back of the stage. He couldn't wait to see the type of messages he would recieve.
