Rebellion of Merlyns (Invite Only)
OOC: This is a series of events that shall take place over 15 NS years, starting with a minor rebellion and ending with all-out war. This is planned so that Merlyns loses in the end, but in the meantime quite a bit of death and destruction will happen. Since Merlyns is a DLE puppet, anything involving a Merlyns post or a DLE post killing people from DLE or Merlyns is pretty much approved.
Feel free to join what side you will. The Invite tag is so that I don't get bad RPers. If you are an MT nation, be aware that this is a FT matter and you joining in means you will be shooting down FT ships.

The conspirators sat, silently, looking around. They had all come to the same agreement, and it was one they knew would forever change the DLE Empire. Each member picked up one of the guns they had been stockpiling for years and checked it to make sure it was loaded. Then, making sure their weapons were loaded and had safeties off, they walked outside and looked at their first target. It was a police station, and one unexpecting of what was about to happen. That made their revenge all the sweeter and their rebellion all the easier. Then, without waiting for a signal, they all charged at once, guns firing.
The police were unprepared, most not grabbing their guns in time before being killed. The few from the back who tried to resist found themselves facing grenades and well-placed head shots. Within ten minutes, the police station, like every police station in the capital city of Merlyns, had fallen into rebel hands. They looked at each other and smiled. Today they would earn their freedom.

The rebels took to the streets, letting our cries of "Freedom!" and "We will rule!" Most of the citizens chose to join the rebels, going along with the flow of who appeared to be most in charge at the moment. A few, backed by what is left of the police and all the military forces in the city, chose to stay with DLE and fight the rebels. Within a matter of minutes, the entire city was a chaotic warzone with only explosions and screams of pain and death to break the monotomy of gunfire.
In the DLE palace, Enigma was pacing around, instinctively knowing something was wrong but not having evidence. When his new Ministress of Defense entered, he then knew his instinct was right. And that worried him.
"Sir, there's a rebellion in Merlyns. The entire capital city is in chaos. We can't tell from sensor readings which side is which," Ministress Orbez said.
"What is near there?" Enigma asked.
"The Klonor antimatter bombs we bought are stored in a bunker near there. But at the numbers we are estimating, the bunker will fall rapidly to the rebels and we don't have enough time to reinforce their defenses. Your orders?" Orbez asked.
"Damn it! The city is lost and we can't afford those bombs to get into terrorist hands. Target the city with disruptor missiles and open fire. Don't stop shooting until nothing is left alive there," Enigma said.
"But, sir, that city has seven million people. Can we afford to sacrifice that many people?" Orbez asked.
"If we don't, we'll lost far more," Enigma said.
In the city, the rebels had mostly won over the resistance. One of them looked up into the sky, smiling, thinking he saw fireworks. Then, his smile faded as he realized two problems: It was daylight, and the fireworks were shooting downward. It was not until he saw the first flash of a city block being reduced to rubble that he realized, much too late, that the fireworks were torpedos and the city was being bombed from orbit.
EBN News:
I'm Mary Bragglestein and you're watching the Enigma Bragging Network.
Today there was a rebellion in the capital city of Merlyns, resulting in the capture of all police stations and a breakdown of order. Not much is known about what happened inside the city, as to prevent the capture of certain weapons near it Enigma ordered the city destroyed from orbit. Over seven million people are estimated to be dead or dying at this time and no one is estimated to be able to survive.
Today has been declared a day of mourning for the dead.

More than a year had passed since the destruction of the capital city of Merlyns. A year since the torpedos had reduced the city to the smoking rubble it still was. Plans to rebuild had been drawn up, only to be abandoned for other plans until, finally, the project was just abandoned. Now, the city was a testament to what DLE would do to protect itself.
The rebellion, though mercilessly crushed, had grown since then. What was once located in one city was now in ten. And now, they had a goal. If they could not take DLE down from the inside, they would cause it distraction from the outside. Let others fight against it, war against it, and weaken it. Then the deathblow, internal, would come. The empire would fall to ashes around them and they would rise victorious to claim their place as rulers. Or, so they thought.
"We need a plan," Corman, the leader, said.
"We can steal one of their ships and strike against the Balroggans. Maybe even the Siesatians. Use their comm signals for communication. DLE will be blamed for it and a war started they cannot win. We can even buy ships from Siesatia and help them fight DLE. But first, we need a year of training and preparing," Grenal said.
"No. We leave Balrogga alone. They are close enough to find evidence it wasn't DLE. But Siesatia... There was a bit of cooling between the two during Soybayun's reign. With their distance, they won't be able to tell whether it is us or DLE. After all, we are the same species and our genetics are very close. They shall be the target. Let us disperse," Corman said.
The group got up and began to walk out of the craters that made the city. To anyone, they appeared to be tourists taking in the damage done. But to each other, they were brothers and sisters fighting for independence. That, and planning to cause a war.

The year of training had passed, and now they were ready. They had altered the plan slightly, planning on using Siesatian ships to strike against Balrogga and a DLE ship to attack Siesatia. The war they hoped to result from this would keep both DLE and Balrogga distracted while they prepared their offensive against DLE proper.
The conspirators met in the dark, quietly, and smiled. They were only a few feet away from three DLEX50s, the current DLE ship, and had a plan to steal all three. Their snipers worked quickly, picking off the crews before they realized what was going on. Then the conspirators redressed in DLE uniforms, entered the ships, and flew them off the planet, each ship headed for a different destination.
One ship landed on Earth, being quiet and landing on a college campus. The crew exitted, having chosen a fraternity dorm. They entered quietly, sedating four of the sleeping men inside the building, and carrying them out and to the ship. A few seconds later the ship was on its way to Terran, with no one from the college the wiser.
Meanwhile, one ship arrived at the Siesatian border, sending the standard DLE signal to them. The crew, having practiced and prepared, were ready for this. They even had gotten the ID code of Enigma from his last communications with Siesatia. Though Enigma had since changed the code, the conspirators were betting on Siesatia not knowing that.
OOC: The following is the fake message. To all examinations, it should look real.
~Electronic Communication to Siesatia~
Once again, I am in need of ships. A certain problem has arrisen that requires more ships than I currently have. I need one thousand P3X40 Raptors and a TE3X40 Battle Cruiser. Included is a set of coordinates outside the Dead Zone where they are to be delivered. I'll have a ship waiting there. Don't remove the engines as usual, as I do not have the time to refit them before they are needed.
Money wired upon confirmation of the order.

IC:
The crew smiled. Once the ships were delivered and the Siesatians gone, the ships would be moved and the attack order sent. To make it a kicker, the money wired would come directly from Enigma's personal banking account. Of course, he had the money to cover it.
At the coordinates sent to Siesatia, the third ship waited. It had people on board who had several hundred remote-control devices they would wire the Siesatian ships with before moving them. Once moved, one would be taken back to Terran for the completion of the mission and then the attack signal sent. Three nations disrupted and sent to war with only two shots.

They smiled. Siesatia had bought the fake communications. All they had to do now was wait. They radioed the Siesatians to let them know they were suffering a computer malfunction, but that it wasn't serious and they'd have it fixed shortly.
Once the ships arrived at the destination, the crew there went to work. Taking four hours with the fast operation they had in mind, they managed to install rudimentary remote control devices in a majority of the ships there, including the battlecruiser. Then, time already stretched, they quickly tied one fighter to their own and began the series of jumps to get home.
Once their dummy ship was on Terran, the conspirators loaded the four humans into it and attached a remote control device. Smiling, they activated the ship and sent it to be sacrificed. While the loss of a ship was an expensive price, it was worth it. The distraction of the three empires, and the internal war that would result, would be well worth it.
The ship, a P3X40, flew towards the orbital platform. Its weapons powered, it immediately opened fire on the Balroggan embassy, the shots missing wildly. The ion cannons, now locked on to the ship, opened fire on it, destroying the ship with a single volley. But not before a sensor scan of the ship was possible.
Inside the DLE palace:
"Sir, I've got word. We've just been attacked by P3X40s," Ministress Orbez said.
"So someone bought a few ships and tried to take us on. Was it rebels?" Enigma asked.
"Sir, not likely. The ship had warp engines and was crewed by humans. And you know how many of them know where we are," Orbez said.
"Yes, I do. Contact the Balroggans. It seems we may be going to war with our own allies," Enigma said.
OOC: The following communication is real.
IC:
~Electronic Communication to Balrogga~
You have likely detected the ship that attacked us. Sadly, the only nation with humans in it that uses those ships, uses warp, and knows where we are is Siesatia. And it was your embassy they fired upon. Orbital defenses stopped the ship long before it could do any damage, but I fear this may lead to something else. I'll leave it up to you to contact the Siesatians and find out if they chose to fire upon us.
Also, three of my ships seem to have gone missing. Be on the lookout for them. The crews were found dead, so I suspect terrorists.
-Dictator Enigma
~End Communication~
Meanwhile, in Siesatian space, the ship that had remained there recieved its orders. Smiling, and knowing they would die, they chose the closest inhabited area, whether planet or space station, and flew straight towards it, disruptor cannons firing the entire way and disruptor torpedos powering up. To die like this was, to them, glorious.

The Balrogga Empire wished to know why your ships attacked the Embassy in DLE territories. The DLE orbital defenses destroyed the vessels but the scans showed there were humans aboard those ships. We are under attack by ships of the same type, suffering Extremely Heavy causualties onboard an unarmed cruise ship, before a detatchment of the Navy destroyed the enemy. The P3X40 series attacked us, as that attacked you, we looked through all sales in the past. Our records show these to have been recently sold to DemonLordEnigma, and have receipts, and order conformations.
Were the pilots all human? That would be odd, since the human population in our country has dropped to 10%, and they only make up 7% of the military forces, it would be doubtful that they all be human were we even slightly inclined to attack one of our closest allies.
I mourn your loss, along with our own, and DLE's. May they join whatever diety they believe in in an eternal afterlife.

Enigma looked at the Siesatian message. Suddenly, the missing ships made sense. They made perfect sense. But that did not explain the order confirmation Siesatia recieved. Something wasn't adding up.
"Orbez, check my bank account and tell me how much I have in there," Enigma said.
Orbez gave him a curious look, but obeyed. She accessed a computer consol on the wall to check the account. She stopped, gave the account a double look, and then turned back to Enigma.
"Sir, did you order anything from Siesatia lately?" Orbez asked.
"No. Not since we technologically surpassed their most advanced fighter for sale. Why, have you found something?" Enigma asked.
"Yes. Your account is over one hundred billion short. And the payment went to Siesatia. All evidence is the same," Orbez said.
"Great. Draft something for Siesatia. And, while you are at it, find out where those humans came from. If my suspicions are right, we will find a graviton trail left by ships leapfroggin," Enigma said.
"Sir?"
"That's right. You didn't know. Leapfroggin is where, instead of slowing down to let the engines cool, they jump immediately upon arrival. The problem is an extreme danger the graviton core will explode. A graviton explosion in space isn't pretty."
"Oh. A message to the Siesatians?"

After three years of searching, no luck in finding the ships. After the attacks on Balrogga and Siesatia, it seemed the group had mysteriously vanished. That alone, without the fact ion storms had chosen the last year to be at their heaviest and the resulting destruction of the last of the PL3X40s in service, was enough to annoy Enigma and cause stress with the alliance.
Several times he had heard accusations from his people that their allies were either incompetent or trying to slow down the searches on purpose. Reminding them of the fact that they were not native to the area and did not have the experience of the exploration DLE ships had did nothing but get accusations that they should have adapted by now. That, in turn, served to only make his mood even more foul. He was beginning to also suspect he was being lied to by a government, but not one of the ones helping him search.
"Orbez, you remember how Siesatia said they would need to be near a star to get the plasma?" Enigma asked.
"Yes, sir. But so far we've eliminated all of the stars we know of," Orbez said.
"Who says they need a star at all? There are other methods of plasma production," Enigma said.
"Yes, but that requires special machines. We got lucky that our jump engines are capable of it. I would say, though, they need an antimatter reactor for that large of an amount," Orbez said.
"And who do we know that uses antimatter in those amounts on a regular basis?" Enigma asked.
"Sir, you're not suggesting the Syndicate! Please tell me you are not suggesting the Syndicate!" Orbez exclaimed.
"I am. Get prepared. We may need to go to war with someone who uses plasma cannons like we use bullets," Enigma said.
Suddenly, the computer screen on the wall lit up. Orbez walked over to it, curious, and read the message. Then, her face turning pale, she turned to Enigma.
"Sir, no need to prepare to attack them. They just confirmed your suspicions. Scouts report four antimatter battlecruisers mixed in with the ships bought from Siesatia. And they are headed this way."

"Gotcha. Sending my plan," Orbez said.
~Electronic Communication to Allies~
Okay, we have a plan. I am hoping they do not know the Siesatians are here or that we have been working to improve our ships. So let's use that to our advantage.
We will be fielding DLEX50s mixed with a few DLEX60s. Since there are few differences between the two in appearance, they should have problems identifying which ships they need to worry about more. All the better for us.
This is going to seem weird, but any ships taking on the antimatter battlecruisers need to get dangerously close to the cannons. The reason is the ships use sensor pods stationed around the cannons and objects that close confuse the sensors, making the ship unable to target you. Without targetting, they can't fire the cannons. If you are also using graviton or temporal tech, the proximity should also disrupt their magnetic fields and make them unable to fire any cannons.
The only real danger is the antimatter ships. The others are mainly around to distract, and even our ships are superior to those.

My technology is Dimensionally based.
I Use the 5th (Space Plus) for civilian traffic, the 6th (Space Minus) for communication because only energy can exist there, and my military uses the 7th (T-Space or Torq Space) for transport. Obviously I can scan all the levels I use and the ones in between. I call the Space Time Continium Real Space
Space Plus allows my ships to travel 80 Parsecs per day.
T-Space is a lot faster and I have ongoing development into other upper dimensions. I cannot tell you how high I can go dimensionally. It's a state secret.
It is somewhat a specilized area and I believe I am the only one who has completely devoted my nation into it's development. The background of my race shows before I was on Earth, I was using this tech but because of the limited resources and advancments of human science I am running at a very limited (from before) level of tech. My Ta'Nar can remember using and creating much better stuff, but without the tools or materials they can only use this stuff. They have the knowledge but not the equiptment. It would be like Indra Prime (in real life) being trapped in the dark ages, for example.

OOC: Thanks for the explanations.
IC:
The P3X40s used by the rebels flew forward, their four antimatter battlecruisers locking on targets in orbit above Terrator. It would be quite awhile before these ships came within firing range, however. The rebels smiled, seeing the only defense DLE could muster was what they thought to be a measely 50 DLEX50s, unaware ten of them were of the generation after that. They would find out how wrong they were soon enough.
The DLE ships each fired off a single disruptor torpedo towards the incomming attackers, the weapons soaring through space before being sent to a flashy death by targets responding. At this time the orbital ion cannons began to start taking aim, the AI in charge of the platform monitoring sensor data and visuals to get an idea of where to aim his cannons. Nothing here suggested the surprise in waiting.
Meanwhile, the DLE ships formed a firing line, prepared to hold their positions and shoot for as long as possible. Anyone who had seen DLE ships in action knew this to be a sign that something was up, as DLE pilots trained to fight in close quarters and being close enough to ships to have to dodge cannon barrels. The rebels were not close enough for an attack yet, but they soon would be.
~Electronic Communication to Balroggan and Siesatian Fleets~
Okay, I hope you guys are in a position where you can create a crossfire without hitting each other. The idea is simple: We let them get close enough to start firing wild shots, then hit the majority of their fleet with firepower comming from three directions. This may be a small battle for using such a tactic, but later on we may not have the chance, depending on how the weather is.
-Ministress Ortez
~End Communication~
Waiting, just out of sight beneath the orbital flatform, was the rest of the DLE fleet currently at Terran. This would be a nasty surprise for the rebels indeed.

When the enemy fleet reached the target area, we will hit them with singularities from above and below. After the singularities disengage, I will send in torps and fighters. If you want to do anything else, let me know.

The Imperial Ships waited deep within T-Space, singularity weapons ready. The capital ships would soon feel their voracious bite. The enemy fleet neared the coordinants of "the sweet spot" where everything would happen. All ships reported full readiness and fighters were primed for launch.

Yes, a slaughter. This is not meant for them to win, but to be put down for a few years. And please excuse the post.

Then, the rebel ships reached the sweet spot. As the ion cannons opened fire, the DLE fleet hiding moved into the open and all DLE ships, being ready, fired disruptor torpedos at the oncomming ships, easily taking out a quarter of the surprised ships, their firey deaths providing fireworks for the upcomming victory. The real surprise, however, was about to strike.
The antimatter battlecruisers, not harmed in the exchange, began to turn, their cannons powering up as they began to target the orbital platform. It would take only one volley to take the platform out of comission and they knew it. What they didn't know was they were about to be taken out as well.

As the battle began, several ships Emerged, both above and below the rebel fleet. STEs powered up and several large singularities formed within the fleet, targeted upon individual ships.
The points of darkness appeared and grew in size until they were as large as a small asteroid. The hungry singularities devoured any matter that crossed their event horizons. The Schwarzschild radius reached out and grasped bth fighters and capital ships alike, being indiscriminate in what it likes to swallow. Matter was matter to it.
The Imperial Gunners modified the Containment of the singularities to fluctuate, sending strong waves of gravity out in random directions to cause metal fatigue in the bulkheads of the vessels too far away to be swallowed. The immense pressure exerted upon their framework caused stress cracks to form, depressurizing some ships and ripping off complete chunks of others.
The various lasers, particle beams, missiles, and torpedoes were pulled off course to disappear forever into the dark embrace of the gravity wells chewing their way through the fleet.
“Activate Containment and disengage STEs. Launch all Proteus Fighters. I want every ship disabled. Aim for weapons and engines. We want prisoners to interrogate.”
The singularities dissipated into nothingness.
Several hundred fighters launched from the ships and began to engage the enemy.

The Ships began to move into position, shields at full, and weapons running hot. The fighters were waiting at the edge of the launch bays.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/UthRptr2/Battlefleet.jpg
They started to decloak, dropping into realspace, and instantly, battleships and fighters alike began to pour fire onto the enemy. Dark Matter/Anti Matter Transphasic torpedos rang out until they slammed into their targets with the force that made worlds shatter. Hulls seemed to ripple from the sheer impact, the explosion afterwards, was much worse, as they were delayed to explode until they were inside the target...

As the sensor data stopped going haywire and the glare from explosions, and worse, died down, Orbez began contacting the ships that remained, trying to get an idea of how many DLE ships remained in orbit. As the reports came in, she discovered them to be 42 ships short. Despite something about the number bugging her, Orbez figured it was time to announce what they had feared to. But first, the ships.
Then, as she tried to contact the allies, Orbez discovered a new difficulty. As a result of the weapons used, communications beyond a certain range were effectively disrupted. Or, at least, that is what she assumed. That would clear away in a few minutes, but in the meantime she would have to wait patiently.
Meanwhile, in the area where the rebels once were, the entirety of the attacking fleet was in pieces. Not a single ship was intact enough to support life, and most were just random bits of metal floating in space. The majority of the wreckage was now spacejunk, worthless for even attempting to salvage.
But, one ship did survive: An antimatter battlecruiser, leaking methane and plasma despite half of the ship being gone. The computer was still intact, trying desperately to send power to parts of the ship now missing entirely. But, it was still there.

As soon as the singularity barrage was finished, the fighter squads were launched. They formed four wings and took turns attacking the last enemy ship, sending lasers and missiles at the control centers and windows in an attempt to disable the vessel for salvage and interrigation.

Actually, My Disruptors work by making the ship destablilize in the Present, and future. It doesnt effect the past, but it is pretty much sqrewed in the future, as, even if it does survive, massive chunks will be missing, and that opens it up to the Vaccuum of space, that in turn kills the crew, and, as the ship continues to try and deliver power to the missing pieces, drains the ship of its energy.

“Blue Leader to Command.”
“Go ahead Blue Leader.”
“Sir, they appear to be dead in the water and they are not firing back at our fighters as we pass by. I think it is safe for the salvage team.”
“Pull your wing back and provide escort.”
“Roger.”
One of the wings of fighters withdrew from the hulk and flew to the carrier. A shuttle craft left the flight deck and took position in the center of the escort. The ships approached the vessel and stopped about 200 meters away.
Aboard the shuttle, Antonio DelGardi sat at the helm. His hands were resting at his side as he flew the craft with his mind. The Ta’Nar was highly regarded as a talented CyberPsi, meaning he could interface with machines as easily as telepaths could enter the thoughts of a sentient being. Actually, besides other Ta’Nar, he preferred to interact with machines. He loved the cold logic in which they functioned.
“Delgardi to Command, We have achieved maximum distance. I am ready to begin the interface.”
“This is Command, it’s up to you now.”
“I know.”
Antonio concentrated and reached out with his mind. He felt the familiar AI controlling the shuttle. He accessed it and set the controls to defensive in case something should happen. The Ta’Nar then reached out and felt for the computer systems aboard the alien vessel.
The vessel suffered a lot of structural damage and there were many power drop outs but the mainframe was on its own emergency backup. The computer was frantically trying to obey the orders given to it by the crew but so many systems were damaged.
Antonio felt the despair of the AI. He homed in upon it and tried to access it. He felt a small opening in its defenses and slipped in unnoticed. He set up a virtual copy of the ship and it’s systems around the AI to isolate it from ships controls.
Carefully he began to examine all the files and commands. He then went to the weapon systems and the engine controls. He accessed several subroutines that would disable all weapons and shut down the core. If the core would not shut down he initiated the ejection of the core in order to preserve something to examine later when the crews would begin to physically examine the wreckage for clues.
After securing control of all the systems he initiated a feed to the AI, making it appear as if it was an outside line from his shuttle.
“Hello, how can I help you.”

The captured ship sat in space, it's computers trying desperately to keep power going. The ship was slowly dying, and soon the computers would be shutting down. Still, the computer had enough time to respond to the intrusion.
"Need repairs, system shutdown. Emergency! Database soon to be shutdown. Must have it delivered to homeworld. Take database, go straight in direction we came from," the AI replied.
Then, the computers shut down, their power drained. The lifeless, bleeding husk of a ship continued to float in space, now having all of its worth be in its database. It floated, silent, a final tomb to be later dismantled and recycled.

As he felt the computer shut down and slip from his mind, Antonio contacted the captain.
“The ship is dead. We need to board her and retrieve the computer databanks. Also have telemetry calculate the ship’s path in either direction. We need to know where it came from and where it was going. It is vital.”
“Will do, we will send over a team to do the physical work while you return to the ship.”
With a sigh Antonio replied back
“Yes captain.”
He activated the controls and turned the shuttle and headed back to the ship. Shortly two other shuttlecraft left the landing bay and flew over to dock with the silent hulk and retrieve the data. Shortly afterwards they left the ship and returned. A single beacon was left behind to help locate at a later date.
