With the collapse of the United States of America from the fatal economic policies of the collectivist Administration, the citizens of the world's once-mightiest nation were at the mercy of far superior colonial powers.
In an ironic twist, North America was finding herself subject to the empire-building efforts of foreign nations.
As the Militant Imperium desired to see the few remnants of the "legitimate" communist leadership destroyed, not to mention the acquiration of a number of naval bases, Operation PACIFIC THUNDER was envisioned by the war planners at TCENTCOM, to capture and annex the states of Washington and Oregon.
It was a relatively simple plan; Two Airborne Divisions would parachute into the state capitals and seize power, while the unopposed landing forces would sweep through in a matter of hours and install a colonial government.
Considering that the scattered natives were either whacked out hippies or ardent Socialists, annexing these two states would be about as difficult as changing a roll of toilet paper.

0600 hrs - First Light
Sydney AFB
Because the feeble government of the two states still held a certain hold over the population of the Northwestern Socialist States, the capitals of Washington and Oregon would have to be utterly eradicated.
From the enormous air base at Sydney, TSEB-52N Skyfortress Heavy Bombers took off, armed with napalm bombs. The socialist dystopias that were Helena and Salem would be wiped off the face of the earth in a storm of flames.
Some two hundred were assembled for the mission, escorted by four hundred TSF-28A Seraph Air Superiority Fighters.
As they neared the target, some 50,000 tons of firebombs were dropped on each of the capitals, much more than the Allies did at Dresden. It would result in the two cities burning down from the inside out, leaving absolutely no survivors. This act would undoubtedly cause some international discomfort, but who truly cared about dirty hippies, anyways?
The flames spread across the surrounding countryside, consuming men, women, and children in its ferocious blaze.

Just as the fires finished burning everything in the capitals, the 11th and 22nd Airborne Divisions were swiftly launched into the fray from TC-255 Stormwind heavy transports. They caused an eclipse of the sun as the parachutes of airdropped infantry and equipment flared out behind the massive force.
The 30,000 strong detachments had simple orders: Kill everything and anything that resisted.
Because of the incredible stupidity of “gun control” the socialists had no protection from the Tyrandisan military. Anyone wearing the uniform of the hippie socialist was shot on the spot, as hundreds died by the fearsome ordinance of the invaders.
Meanwhile, the landings began.

Off the shores of Washington and Oregon, Arizona-class battleships opened up on the coastal settlements, 22’ inch death raining down upon the helpless civilians.
From the decks of the assembled amphibious assault ships, VTA-68 Lancer attack helicopters poured out, scanning the coastlines for any and all possible threats to the success of PACFIC THUNDER, as unlikely as that situation was.
LCVC hovercraft loaded to the brim with some twenty Mobile and five Armored divisions swept the beaches clear of any and all native resistance.
In a matter of hours, the Tyrandisan armies had swept through the two states, seizing power and re-establishing order. No longer would the blot of collectivist totalitarianism stain the Northwest.
