Raiding party takes shipping harbor.

As the sun peaked over the gray mist of the morning light. A small group of 16 rag-tag looking men of 14-22 armed with fine light machine guns stood at the bow of a large frigate in one of the many ports in the region of the Brink of Destruction. it's name didn't matter. It was goods that were on the agenda and a vast field of wealth of such was abound here in this no name port. The country of Private Dunkum was in their minds, and the Dunkum arms company that competed with CP's Gen-Barrels needed a notch taken out of them. They were not on one of the target ships, but this chemical transport of polymers would serve a powerful means to an end.

The fittest and best dressed of the pirates was standing on the deck of the cargo frigate. His eyes excited by the attention that the leaked police report brought out. News choppers were circling at a wide breath, their muffled rhythm was music to his corrupted ears. This was almost to good to be real. The force had managed to sneak into the port with a bit of effort, and his stowing away on a international transport got him within the bay to perform the last act of disguise before unveiling their designs.

The man, Lieutenants Firgus Volish, took hold of a bullhorn that he gathered from the now quieted control cabin of the ship. The workers were slaughtered without much effort, 36 have recently bleaded away their lives out of view of the world outside. His 'boys' made quick work of the helpless dredges without so much as a twinge of regret. Their usual tactics caught freight in the lanes where getting away was a simple matter. But this order was of a more dire effect. Competition was cut throat. Now literally.

Firgus raised the amplifier to his mouth then aimed his booming voice at the approaching coast guard ships racing to the scene still a 1000 feet out. "Your police will pull back and let us leave in peace with our cargo, or there will be a heavy price to pay for all of you!" A large radio transmitter laid by his feet and a mic in his other hand griped so that his voice would travel over all emergency frequencies. No one would miss his threat, least of all the news organizations.

It has come to my attention that some of your citizens have taken a chemical tanker, property of a coorporation from my nation, and now float in my waters, making threats. I, as the military and diplomatic leader of The Confederacy of Private Dunkum, do request that you have them cease and desist immediately. if they surrender themselves up to us, we will punish them with a lighter sentence than if we must take them by force. It is not my wish for there to be any needless bloodshed, if this can be resolved peacefully, then let it be so.

There is a knock on the door of the State Advisor to the president.

The door opens and the secretary to the advisor leads in a rather arrogant man within. His oily hair and rumpled clothing stands out as quite a detriment to his less the pleasing appearance. The faint wafting of alcohol gently makes it's way into the room. The secretary leaves the door open and watches with very dire concern for his presence then speaks out loud carefully.

"A representative of the Nation of Coastal Pirates has come to speak with you."

The man starts right away after his introduction, "It seems to me that you think that our country has some overwhelming desire to cause you harm?" The irony drips from his demeanor with a bit of contemptuous ire. He continues, "I have no idea where you got the impression that our government would sponsor such a... crude spectacle to bring about your own forces weight. It is not an acceptable tactic for anyone. Least of all the Nation of the benign Coastal Pirates. Please feel free to investigate it further. I think that you will be quite remiss to bring about accusations upon our people without evidence. Now excuse me and do not bother our people further."

He turns without even waiting for a response and pulls out a Sat phone from his hand and starts dialing as the door starts to close upon him. "Hello." He pauses, "Yes." He pauses for a moment, "No." And finally he ends the conversation abruptly with the comment, "Of course."

He hangs up as the door finally shuts on him.

The scene of the incident on the frigate is again in focus. From the decks the men are standing around and one of the accomplices, a man in rag for cloths and wielding a polished machine gun draws out a rather odd looking device. He places it to his ear and starts talking.

"Jamis?" There is a momentary pause and he continues, "Sir! We are ready... Now?". He waits for a second then starts up again, "What about the..." He looks at Firgus with a bit of formal respect then speaks into the phone, "We shall begin now, fire will rise in your name. Today is a good day to invest in Gen I think.".

He hangs up the phone and the man then walks to Firgus on the deck and whispers into his ear. Firgus looks to the men and shouts out an order, "Run her down!"

Firgus throws the bull horn off the side of the ship nonchalantly and pulls a radio device with several buttons out from his shirt pocket. The now visible chain that hangs about his neck assures that it doesn't leave his possession. He holds it to the light then starts methodically pressing buttons. As each button is pressed a large fireball explosion engulfs a ship resting in the harbor some 2000 feet away.

As each explosion erupts and deafens the once quiet harbor the light of the blast lights brighter then the morning sun its self. 12 ships each have red flame licked plumes of billowing black smoke rising from their stern. It would not take much knowledge to realize that the screws of each of the frigates were taken out by the force with large packages of explosives. The few people that were on the docks are rocked by the barrage of heat and concussion. Thrown to the docks and forced against the warehouses that line it.

And one single hidden member emerges from the control cabin of the frigate. As he starts for the front of the ship a strange powerful thrust from the screws of the propulsion systems pushes in ever increasing speed, driving it in reverse towards the ships on the docks. It is aimed directly at the Private Dunkum corporate enemy. All the men on the ship dive off the deck at the front of the ship, diving into the bay depths never to come up again.

What seems like an eternity only takes about 2 minutes as the chemical transport heads towards the ballistic component of the needed death-filled mixture. With horror, the people can be seen fleeing from the site of the coming destruction. The few people that were attempting to put out the diesel fires on the ships catch glimpse of the oncoming finale of the attack, they instantly bolt for any possible escape. traveling faster and faster the ship looms in on the moored target. As its stern touches the disabled cargo ship of the corporate enemy the steel on steel screech loudly and ear piercingly pierces through the well damaged targets hull. The ship continues into the blaze of fire a few more feet then the two ships crack against the docks. The contents of each intermingling to finally be set off by the fuel fire.

The explosion of the event is as vile as it is huge. The collision takes on a green hue of sideways expanding and upwards reaching explosions. As each of the sections of the chemical ship catch the blast it reinforces the chain reaction. The 500 foot area surrounding the collision disappears into a toxic cloud. Small red bursts of explosion of unknown contents bubble and ripple deafening low rumbles. It only takes a few seconds after that for the blast to reach out in a 1000 foot radius to start catching nearby ships in the heat and corrosive air. Two ships disabled within too close proximity also feel the burn of the heat and catch on fire. Their holds filled with unknown goods billow smoke and dark rancid smoke.

Though much of the attention now was turned to what events were taking place on the docks, from under the water a small metal dot appears above the water bobbing quietly near the location of the original threats. Air bubbles start to come up to the surface in front of the small metal periscope. the bubbles quickly streak out from a single location and then a moment later, a torpedo surfaces and strikes out at a disabled ship. The red fireball of high explosives rip open the cargo ship like a paper bag. As the water pours in and the ship starts to turnover in the water and capsize, another torpedo, and then another streak out to the ships. All the disabled ships take a direct and fatal hit from the torpedoes in the course of a single minute.

As the harbor burns gruesomely. 14 ships burn to the waterline destroyed and completely turned to smoldering scrap. 2 more are suffering substantial damage and fires, but stay afloat in the harbor barely.

The blast was horrible. Flashes of the explosions blasted themselves to extinction in front of Queen as he ran from the site, his heart beating like a drummer in a fit of rage, his eyes wide open and terrified.

His cell phone in hand, he pressed a few buttons and soon it was ringing. The voice that answered seemed to be sleepy. Why shouldn't it be? Since the Stealth Department had been created, nothing at all had happened. They were the laughing stock of Embassy personell, usually busy with various subjects, whilst they sharpened their pencils to perfection. And now this. The blasts had been horrible. It had been true. The Coastal Pirates had attacked.

The voice's answer was simple enough:
"Yes?"

Queen tried not to shout:
"They blasted the whole thing! We were right! What should I do? What should we do?"

The voice on the other end became incredibly quiet.

"Hello?", Queen demanded, "Are you still there?"

"Yes, I'm here. Listen, I'll check with HQ in Schwerd. Go back to the harbour so we can see what happens."

"What? It's hell in there!"

"Queen, when you decided to become a special agent of the Republic didn't you think you'd have to deal with difficult situations such as these?"

"No."

"Well, neither did I. Good luck."

The voice hung up. Queen would never quite remember the name of that person. Marcia, Magda, whatever...

His face struggled to find the right colour, pale from the shock and fear, red from the excitement and exhiliration as he approached the harbour once more.

There were a number of firetrucks around, paramedics shouting, people screaming, dead men lying, blood and guts and fire and ash... Queen did not want to be there. He tried to help with the rescuing, but was held back by the firemen. Without thinking, he showed them his card and they looked amazed.

"You've got to be kidding us, sir. Go play spy somewhere else, we've got stuff to do."

Queen tried to insist but was held back. He didn't really understand what he was doing. His training had been minimal, he was a rookie, an amateur in professional clothing. Running away, coming back, showing his card, all these things didn't make sense. His phone started ringing.

"Queen? Schwerd says it will contact Private Dunkum. Stay there. You'll be briefed when you are required."

"Stay..." the voice hung up "here?"

Queen looked at the flames and then at the sea. He was in for something big. And he didn't like it one bit.

"D***, it looks like i haven't got a choice. Rogers, order an evacuation of all ports, if they did this once, they'll do it again. General Lorditch, prepare the troops, i want Air Force in there ASAP, and Navy not far behind. Get the Army nearby, but out of range of anything you think they've got, we can't afford to have them land."

"Yes, sir."
The general salutes and leaves.

"Rogers, why are you still here?"

"Sir, these people will have no where to go if they evacuate."

"Maybe so, but if they don't, they're liable to learn just how painful it can be to be killed by that stuff. Given the choice, i'd rather be homeless than dead."

"Of course, sir."
He leaves.

"D***, I really didn't want to have to fight."

Private Schlessinger ran thrue the corridors of the Nieder Ostlandish Armed forces head quarters. In his hand he held a photography, developed only a minute or two ago.
As he came to the door, where he was to leave the picture, he stoped for a minute to breath in and out a few times. He wasn't in a very good shape, but since he spent most of his time behind a desk, he really didn't need to, untill now apparently.
He opened the door and took one step into the room befroe standing in attention.
"I have the photography you asked for right here, General."

"Good" Generall Katharina von Zumwald, chief commander of the Ostlandish armed forces, took the picture from Schlessingers hand, and lied it on a table near by.
"You can go now, soldier" she said, without looking back.

In the room, there were three other persons, besides von Zumwald. General Hans Schultheis, chief of the army, General Albrecht Saltzmann, chief of the Airforce, and Admiral Johann Kunstler, chief of the navy.
They all stood at the table, looking at the sattellite picture of the harbour.

"What should we do? Should we help them? We ARE afterall allies with them." Schultheis asked

"We can't do anything without orders from the Grossherzog" von Zumwald replied "You know that. For now, the only thing we can do is to strengthen our own borders. I want all harbours, air ports and border crossings guarded. No one should be let in the country who we dont know who they are. The helicopters of the army have to patroll the borders, especially in the mountains. The navy will take care of the harbours, and coastal patrol, and submarine hunting. And you"
she turned to Saltzmann
"You fnally get to test that anti submarine plane. And i want our Gripens to patrol all borders and coast lines, all the way to international waters. I do NOT want this to happen in our country!
Thats all we can do untill the Grossherzog says anything. Dismissed!"

As the other officers left, and she was alone, she sat at her desk and looked at the picture. Hoping the pirates wouldn't visot her corner of the world.

The radios were all abuzz on the flagship battlecarrier, the P.P.S. Arkhangle,about some odd port bombing.

"Admiral, it appeares that someone's nation has been attacked, should we help out?" asked an ensign.

"Hmmm, well, we are in the area. I guess we should help Private Dunkum. Telegram them saying that we will set up a naval blockade to prevent an enemy fleet from advancing." responded Admiral Isoruku Yamamoto III.

And the ships of the 8th Fleet proceeded to set up a blockade.

As the 8th Naval fleet is patrolling the sea coast of Dunkum here is a faint active ping from the radar.

"Captain, there is a sonar traces coming from the surface 5 naut-miles ahead of us. What are your orders?" The sonar operator calls out in the bridge of the merchant attack sub.

"Ensign Johnson, what local traffic is there in the area that we can intercept and hide under?"

The Sonar operator looks over his controls and punches up a computer emulation of a 3d area of the ocean. "Seems we have a fishing vessel 30 degrees west by northwest out 1.43 miles, a class D scrub. South at 13 degrees, out by 2.61 miles, we have a commercial troller at at Class B."

The Captain contemplates out loud, "At 2.61 that would take us 10 minutes to reach running silent back the way we came. It would be a tight fit, but I think we could hide under it." He stops and addresses the men promptly, "Men we are running silent! Run about 13 degrees south at a depth of 100 heading straight for the screws of the transport. It's heading out to sea correct Ensign?"

Johnson replies, "Yes sir, it will take us towards the waters of Hakopam. They have no navy to speak of, and we will be safe to traverse their shore line till we make it out to international waters."

The Captain looks upon the tactical commander Geris. "Commander. What will this delay cost us?"

Geris replies promptly after making several keystroke heavy calculations into the system in front of him, "We are looking at 4 days to get to Hakopam at best, and then another 2 weeks of safe travel till we get to safety."

The Captain then replies in order, "Turn about get in line with the troller, raise to 100 feet. Mark the sonar dummies for rapid deployment, and signal the silent alarm. Be prepared men, we have to return safely to receive our medals. Good running men!"

The Merchant attack sub currently at 600 feet starts it's turning at 130 miles outside of the Dunkum attacked Harbor.

"Sir, radar and sonar dont show 'em. all we can pick up is a bunch of our own vessels, our navy, our coast guard, who, i might add, are useless, and a couple of fishermen who refused to leave the harbor."

"Well, tell the navy to drop depth charges, if they're near one of our boats, we should hit them. have intel try to figure out why the heck they don't show on radar, and tell the stupid civilians that they stay out in the water at their own risk. Tell whatever blockades are out there to stop anything that isn't military, we don't know how these guys got in, but we ain't lettin' 'em get back out!"

"Yes, sir"

*He leaves*

"D***, too many losses, we gotta neutralize the b******s before they kill anyone else. D*** Coastal Pirate government, denying that they know anything about this. D*** it all!"

*Presses the intercom button*

"Maria, i need you to write somethin' down for me, i gotta send another wire to Coastal Pirates."

"Yes, sir. I'll get on it right away, what do you need to say?"

You claim not to know anything about the recent attacks on my country. And you claim that you wish no harm to the people therein. I will not refute your claims, i have no reason to. However, that does not change the fact that the perpetrators of these attacks werte your citizens. I will ask you now to try to control them, order them home, do something, lest i have to take some kind of action against them. I do not wish to have to kill, but if they seem to be a threat to either me or one of my allies, i will be forced to attack them. I thank you in advance for your cooperation.

"What class son?" he asked.

"No clue, it ain't surface, I can tell that much." he replied. "Damn, I'm losing it under a transport."

"We have a free leash remember. You sure it's there?"

"Yes sir," he said.

"All right, I'm contacting our sister ships, and we'll shadow it. It must be the agressor," he said. "All hands silent running, all hands, silent running."

All commotion instantly stopped.

There is a call into your office after the telegram is sent. It is a recorded message that sounds lie it is coming from a man who has smoked 3 packs of unfiltered Camels for the past 30 years. The deep and raspy voice calmly insults you from there on out.

"Dear token president..."

"I see that your placation to the voting public has determined that you have to make action where there was none."

"If you think that a group of thugs from some foreign country that are using our name in vain is an excuse to cause you harm, I insist that you at least come up with some proof before you threaten my nation with your self righteous holier-then-thou attitude."

"Why don't you try acting like the man you are supposed to be, and take the blame for your incompetence. Your vile stench of mongoloid genes are effecting the clean air that I breathe even over this satellite link. Feel free to force the blade to the hilt within your own stomach, for that death will be far less painful then if you were to foolishly attempt to land on our land with malice."

The phone call ends abruptly after without a salutation of good-bye.
(A death sentence for CP I know full well, but this was too good a responce to pass up. Forgive me Dunkum.)

An open call goes in to the embassy of Pschycotic Pschycos.

There is a yonge woman on the phone call who anounces that she is from the Rogue natin of Coastal Pirates.

"May I speak with the diplomat of state please?" She asks calmly and quietly. "I am Laura Fio of Coastal Pirates human resounrces and I would like to talk about the acusations that have been lauded against our nation of economic resources. it is urgent please pass me through."

There is a pause as she is transfered to the head of diplomacy for Pschycotic Pschycos.

"Hello. This is Laura Fio of Coastal Pirates noteriety. I understand that you beleive that we are making multiple attacks on the nation of Dunkum. I want to speak to you to clear up a few things. First we have not made any attacks to begin with. Second from the international news reports, the notable nation of Dunkum has only met the agregious fate from a single estranged attack by some unknown terrorists. I am concerned that there is some misunderstanding and that I would like to speak with you to clear this up."

Her voie is mello and calm. There is a bit of sympathy and concern in her voice over the conversation about the events.

" I am told that Coastal Pirates have no malice towards Dunkum, and our fine island nation does not wish to engage in battle with anyone. Please help me clear this up so that tempers do not get out of hand."

Shogun Himura looks up from his papers at the screen, and brushes his red hair out of the way. His eyes are changing color between red and yellow.
"According to my understanding, militants from your nation have attacked another without provokation. The answer is clear. Whether or not it was a military act, it was still commited by your citizens. Therefore, I must ask you to restrain your citizens, and to give reperations."
"Also of interest, one of our subs, the P.P.S. Osaka has reported that an attack class submarine was found leaving the scene, and they suspect it was one of yours. I must ask for an explanation...." answered the Shogun, making sure the edge of the sword at his waist was visible and reflecting light.

With a tone of understanding and kindness she replies, "I don't know where you got that notion that we are involved in this personally. But if you have some evidence then please bring it forward. We sell all produced wares to the highest bidder and it would not be surprizing that we have similar weapons to those that would stoop to such trecherous plans as to create a toxic cloud of death in the harbo of Dunkum's lands to take care of a competing company that produces weapons."

She relaxes and says forcefully, "Do you wish to involve yourself in such a fight as our nation armed with nuclear weapons? We could turn any attacking naval ships that would think to approach our nations island into a wash of radioactive bits. Feel free to waste our lands if you have the balls to do so. Our patience only runs so short then we strike with no regard for those pathetic humanistic generosities."


(I have no intention to use nuclear weapons because that would end this story in a heart beat, but I have to threaten with them or else what is the point of owning them? :D Thanks for all your patience with me. I am enjoying this imensly.)

Laura hangs up the phone and dials her boss immediately after without delay.

"It looks like it's inevitable John. What are you going to do now?"

She pauses and listens closely. "I see, so you want to organize a meeting with the banks and orchestrate plan B? Very well I will call them and have them meet with you at the end of the day. I will contact Erica to set up the conference and it will be prepared for you by 4pm this afternoon."

She pauses and listens to the muffled voice talking incoherently on the other end, "Yes Sir. I will have everything ready for market opening tomorrow."

After several calls she contacts several business leaders and sets up the meeting for 4pm at the Gen-Barrel HQ.

The afternoon is calm and quiet in the international waters outside of the Coastal pirates archipelago of industrialized islands. The partly cloudy skies and warm summer winds make waiting all the more tolerable despite the concern of instigation by the CP forces some 100 miles inland.

As 1pm approaches the sonar of 3rd Naval unit of Nieder Ostland lights up like a mass of clouds coming towards the stationary ships. The signatures are small, too small to be ships of any concern, but the shear size causes great concern for the military units.

Currently they are 6 Nautical Miles from the 3rd Naval units location and at depths of 0-30 feet from the surface coming in from the West at 10 miles per hour. Through optical devices, and enhancement equipment you are able to determine that 50 small mini-subs approximately 5 feet wide and 20 feet long in a 2 line formation of 25 wide and spaced 50 feet apart are approaching at a direct course to intercept the military vessels.

Wolfgang stood at the bridge on the mighty battleship leading the navy group , looking out the window, enjoing the view and dreaming of the small cottage up in the mountais he recently bought, when the intercom lit up.
"Hartwall" He answered
"Herr flotillenadmiral" it was te sonar officer onboard "we have a massive force of incoming subs intercepting our course"

Wolfgang typed in the command on his PDA to get the sonar up on the screen. At the same time, the lookout came rushing in, confirming the sonar sight.

"Send up the anti submarine choppers at once, loaded with depth charges. Dispatch all the destroyers to the west side of the convoy, depth charges loaded. All major ships to be inside the shield, spread out a little. Artillery aimed at the directions of the subs. Schnell, schnell!"

The alarm on all ships sounded at once, all over the decks, sailors rushed to their battle positions. The helicopters lifted from the ships, and slowly made their way to the west.

He went to the radio and took the headset, tuned it to a neutral frequenzy.
"This is Flotillenadmiral Wolfgang Hartwall of the Nieder Ostlandish kriegsmarine. To the group of submarines heading towards us. Please break off 90 degrees to your right, this to avoid you crossing our path. If you do not reply to our request, we will consider this an agression towards our forces, and be forced to open fire. Please respond, over"
He also send a note to the Kriegsmarine headquarters in Nieder Ostland, telling them about the situation.

A message was sent to the rest of the fleet. "Don't fire until fired upon, or I open fire"

Wolfgang turned to his 2nd in command.
"If they haven't replied when they are 4 nautical miles from us, open fire. Start with a warning shot. If they still don't turn around, fire at will. Replay my message over all of the international channels. And see if our intelligence have their navy's frequenzy"

The subs came closer and closer, and didn't show any intention to either steer away or reply.
Wolfgang saw this on his PDA. As the subs hit the 4 nautical mile mark, he ordered the all vessels to fire.
The helicopters dropt their deadly deapth charges, the destroyers rushed towards the sub threat, and the major ships fired with their artllery against their subs.
As the attack started out well, and a number of the subs were sunk imediately.
The rest of the subs dived, spread out and continued against the ships. It was clear thet their main target was the heavier ships.
"Look out for the subs, make sure they don't get to attack us" Wolfgang yelled to his second in command.
The ostlandish ships spread out even further. The destroyers and choppers continued dropping depth charges at the subs, and other ships fired torpedoes against any sub they could find.
Suddenly there was an explosion at the waterline of one of the corvettes, and she started to sink.
No ship dared to go closer to the sunken ship, to resvcue any survivors coz of the subs.

Two destoryers exploded in a ball of flames.
"Get those damn subs" Wolfgang shouted in the radio.

After a short, but intense fight, all the subs were sunken, or had fled away, but the important thing to Wolfgang, was that they were no longer nearby.
Wolfgang made a radio message to all the ships. "Report any and all casualties, and injurie reports.!"

The reports came in to Wolfgang, and the result was not too bad. One corvette and four destroyers sunk. One battle ship, two cruisers, 2 corvettes and 4 destroyers wer damaged, but nothing that they couldn't repair outo n the sea. unlesds they got disturbedby more attacks.

About half of the sailors that had been floating around on the sea had been rescued.
Wolfgang was happy, he had won the battle without too many losses.
He telegramed the result of the battle to the headquarter of the Kriegsmarine.
After one hour, he got the respond that he had wished for in acoded message.

The Helicopters and destroyers set into motion by the approach of the mini-subs. The Pirates have planed for this all there life. It was the principle attack pattern that they use all all frigates that catch their eye. Though outnumbered 100 to 1, they had great skill in there attack, and practice with discipline. They had to or this would not even effect a minnow school.

The charges started to drop and the White-4 had it's orders, "You are expendable, you die with honor, you rest in peace." Not a noble cry by most nations, but death was a way of life for Pirates, and the greater the mass brought with them the more famous they would be. Enshrined in the folklore of Coastal Pirates is the name of every great fight, every great haul, and every great leader. Those who survived were allowed to come back and claim what was there's a title and a honor of a red badge.

The airwaves were explosive with digital noise from the coordination of the attack. The White-4 took direction then headed to depth and began their maneuvers to evade torpedoes. Even at a mere 10-30 feet, which is prime operating depth, this was an easy task for the light fast turbine screw sub. Though little more then an engine with a thin metal shield to offer waterproof displays, it served to stream line the 3 man crew and get them to the 35 NMPH that they needed to be able to keep up with all but speed boats.

The depth charges dropped, and the White-4 was barreling perilously through the chaotic mess. The calm ocean was turned to a turbulent white water cesspool of debris intermingled with a few bodies in no time. This was shear suicide for any normal man, but they were chosen to soften them up, Determine the main fleets effectiveness, and luckily for them they were making headway to their target... the first ship to come into sight.

Dropping down to 100 feet the men steered and lined up the ship directly underneath the hull and rose. Speed matched, and now set on autopilot, the ship attached itself with magnets to the hull, and the three men in breathing masks grabbed the explosives that were kept in the ship cargo, took off their masks and swam for the target, the hull. Heading straight to work the men set charges on the seams of the ships and cracked open the radio transmitter, set them into the Hybrid Plastique which was more potent in water. 14 charges in total were placed along the hull, and the men headed back to their Mini-sub, locked back their masks into place, and headed back to the ocean.

As they got back into the Mini-sub they headed out dropping to a depth of 200 feet and proceeded to shoot out back towards the CP shore line. The leader, a man of 14, and a graduate of the national academy ran his hand over a closed box on the thin frame and opened up a panel. There were three buttons. He pressed the 1st and behind a huge explosion took place. The corvette lost all ability to displace water, and promptly sunk like a rock into the ocean.

White-4 heads home quietly, knowing many family, friends, and mates yielded their lives to the onslaught, but any destruction upon your enemies was worth every effort that you can muster. The bars would be alight with the story of their great day. Now they were men, and would earn much respect from their mates, maybe find a nice woman... There thoughts drifted to the future and their own self gratification as they returned to the naval port outside at Thisi.

- Prologue -
The enemy force was cleaning up the mess that the 50 units caused to the battle fleet. The men were heading to put down the fires, the ships clearing paths discovering 3 survivors (Ages 14, 18, and 12) floating in the warm waters, and ships regrouping a small dark spot appeared in the sky overhead of the battle ships. the darkness soon turned to a bright light. Small at first then gradually growing bigger and bigger till it seems to match the size of the sun and just as bright. Then it started getting smaller and smaller, the yellow color of the light turned to a bright white.

Of to the side of the ship is where it first appeared on the surface. The water turned a lighter shade of blue then started to exhaust steam. The area was no more then 5 feet in diameter. It was a strange sight to behold. Then it moved.

Slowly at first the bright light headed inch by inch in an erratic circle then it finally settled. Where it settled the water was boiling now. It then moved in a direct and mechanical path to the Grossherzogin Mathilde. As in headed closer to the vessel, alerts could be heard everywhere in the area. This was a weapon.

Wolfgang stood at the bridge of his flagship, the Grossherzogin Mathilde, recieving damaged reports from his ships, when he saw the bright light.
He looked at it, puzzled at first. Bombs and torpedoes that misses its targets usually don't explode.
He then realized that the boiling water was heading straight towards him and his ship. He shouted to the officers at the bridge.
"Alarm! That... thing is heading straight towards us. Get us the heck out of here! Full speed ahead. Schnell, schnell!"
Alarms went of on the entire ship, and also on the surrounding ships.

The battleship tried to accelerate as quick as possible, away from the boiling water.
One of the destroyers, that had been damaged already, moved in between the boiling water, and the Grossherzogin Mathilde, to protect it from whatever this was. They sacrificed themselves to, hopefully, save the flagship.

Wolfgang sent of a message to the Kriegsmarine headquarters bout the current situation, and the battle report. Also stating that he wanted a full naval and air bombardment of the Coastal Pirates harbours and factories.
He then looked out on the boiling water, as it headed closer to both the destroyer and the flagship.

The 5 foot diameter spot of boiling water started to move, and once the light was moved, the water satiated and returned to normal. Although the Destroyer attempted to get in the path of the now moving spot of light, it quickly passed over the deck as if the destroyer were nothing. While the weapon was passing the top of the deck people could see that it was a focused bean of light that was being directed upon the surface as a weapon. The paint peeled almost instantly and anything flammable that was within it's quick travels to the main target caught fire after a second, mainly smoldering with little else of effect.

But the Grossherzogin Mathilde was the target. A way of Coastal Pirates to say hello to the forces that wished to get in their way.

It was 30 seconds later that the beam found the fixed position upon the deck of the flag ship. It maneuvered slightly and a bit erratically at first then moved with quick skill into a position on top of the radar and antenna array. It stayed focused on wrecking havoc of the soon to be blind naval ship. As the minutes passed, the equipment that was within the diameter of the light quickly turned to useless molten plastic and metal. Even right below the equipment the roof to the control area was starting to heave and bend to the slow change from hardened steel to liquid. Effectively finished now, the beam then moved to a new location, the next critical point that it was to attack, the men on the deck...

"Abandon ship, abandon ship! Schnell, schnell" Wolfgang shouted in the intercom.
The men on the ship hurried to put all the life boats in the sea, and then, as they filled up, quickly move away from the ship.
Left on the Grossherzogin Mathilde, was a few men, including Flotillenadmiral Hartwall. They stayed to try to find a way to get away from the beam of light.
"Must be some kind of space weapon, Herr Admiral" Wolfgangs second in command, Kapitän Meer, said.
"Yeah. And we don't have anything to fight it. We need help. Abandon ship you too. If I dies, wou will become the commander of the task force, untill the reinforcments arrives."
Meer saluted Wolfgang, and headed for the last lifeboat, awaiting those who were still left on the ship.

As Meer arrived to the Battleship Bachwald he went strait to the radio room, and send a coded message to the Kriegsmarine HQ, about what just happened.

He then turned to the captain of the ship.
"I want all cruise missiles ready to fire against the Land of the coastal pirates. Target military instalations, harbours, bridgers and any government buildings. Let the order go out ot the other ships aswell."
"Jawohl Herr Kapitän" The captain said, hurrying away, to forwards his orders, to the other ships.

The men working at the target computers recieved their orders, punched in the new coordinates, and waited for the order to fire.
As it came, all of them pressed the fire key, and from the fleet a salvo of cruise missiles fired, and headed towards the Coastal Pirates.

(OOC: I don't view it as GodModing. It's a weapon I thought up based on Archimedes light ray of obviously fake lore. It is pretty cheap to make, and would only require about 1 billion in total to put it up into space to focus sun beams at specific targets in a radius of the archipelagos of Coastal pirates using mirrors and a focus lens on servos. If it were a laser or a missile barrage of some sort, then I would not bother writing about it (Because that is GODMODing for this tech level), but since it's so simple to make, I see no problem in using it. I hope you don't mind my disagreement with your view. At once, the 4 massive power generators of the massive battlestation roared to life. The NYC sized station made final attitude adjustments, and built up the energy to fire. At the opening of the barrel, a dome of energy began to form. "FIRE!!" From the dome of energy, a beam shot forth to the World.

ON, Earth, the beam pierced through the cloud cover, and created a ball of energy that grew and spread outward, digging out a crater in the ground, rather than just flattening everything. When the massive explosion was over, a crater with a 20 mile radius was now in place of the capital.

The airfield was full of transport airplanes. And so were the neighbouring air fields as well.
And next to the planes stood, sat or lied the 53rd Fallschirmjägers, awaiting the orders to board the planes.
They knew their target. To land on the main island of Coastal Pirates, and set up a bridge head for the ground troops, coming by boats.
It was a risky mission, much could go wrong, but the men and women of the 53rd was well trained and well armed.
When they had travelled 3/4th of the distance, three staffels of Gripen-H would meet up and escort them the last bit towards their target.

Out on the seas, one large fleet moved south west with a steady speed of 28 knots.
They were heading for Coastal Pirates main island, to land and drive away any military units present.
This was a massive fleet.
Battleships, Transport ships, Aircraft carriers, Destroyers, Cruisers, Supply ships, Hunter submarines. And all was protected by small groups of stealth corvettes moving ahead of the main task force, as a radar shield and early warning system.

Eventhou the fleet was impressive, the sailors were nervous. They had all heard about the 'wonder weapon' the coastal pirates had. And if they had built one, they could easily have built a second one, or a third or a...

They came closr and closer to their target. Next morning, at dawn, they would attack.
All the soliders tried to sleep, but, it proved very hard, the night before they had to assault a country which they never heard of, and really had no idea what to expect of their troops.

(A quick filler of the status untill I get done sorting this out a little later. So far 8 hours have passed since the futile attack on Ostland occured. It's now 8pm at night. Considering military prepairedness you can start attacking at any time. Ships will not be available to get in range till sometime tomorrow afternoon. I want to cover times so that a ship can't get hit by a cannon that was destroyed by a bombing raid the night before.)

Nieder Ostland Battle ship is still floating. The satellites Mirror was taking it's time getting to the weapons cache's on the Grossherzogin Mathilde.

Finally after 5 hours of heating up the armor protected plates, the ship weapons hold exploded and the flagship burst into flames and a large mushroom cloud of red and black smoke. The men that were on the ship have long since been evacuated and the hulk of a mainstay for Ostland ingenuity was no more usefully then a dummy scrap in a shallow bay to practice torpedo launches with.

The day ends at a stalemate. Coastal Pirates is fortifying their position on the islands and setting up patrols and defenses around their country's 100 mile radius water of control. The skies above seem clear and calm. No planes are heard about in the air, though several airports have been sported by satellite systems setting up quick launch procedures.

They seem to have 200 f-16 style fighter jets and 300 Apache style armored helicopters, and 100 Black Hawk style helicopters prepared and fueled.

Defense batteries are located all along each and every island beach spaced out evenly. You count them at 2000. Consisting of 500 StA missile batteries, 500 Long range heavy cannons, 750 flak cannons, and 250 StS missile batteries.

Battle ships count at 25 but not the usual type that you are used to. These seem of similar size, but armed with anti-air missile systems, depth charges in the front and rear, and side mounted mine dispersement units.

Subs seem to be difficult to locate. There are many cave systems along the coasts because of the volcano, and because of this optimal setup there surely are in-ground sub bays near each of the Naval Harbors that are entrenched surrounding these large cave overhangs. Of note you do notice a group of mini-subs patrolling the shore. There seems to be about 1000 patrolling the waters on the surface at about 10 miles out.

Commercial and private transport is still in motion. But they head out from the harbors and business districts bearing south and staying away from the fighting. You assume that some f the more well to do and business leaders are taking a leave of absence from the country to save their sorry hides.

(OOC they are not as nice as you think. I adjusted a couple numbers for realism and changed the previous post as well. ;) The main weapons of CP is cheap efficient products. You'll note that the mini-subs have no weapons but drive around 3 men. I worked on my math and the corrected numbers are below. Should use a calculator when I figure numbers and not my head. An additional x4 multiplyer is used beyond equipment costs, based on the US as a military standard, for men and equipment upkeep:

CP is setting up defences and recognizing any ships airborne or on water within the 100 miles radius a posible hostile threat.

Allied forces should know that many conventional weapons have at a 100 mile reach and would be subject to attacks from the mainland. Though Tomahawks and such have a greater range and can fight from beyond that range without much concern for retaliation.

The preparations for the invasion started. The ships changed their priprities from firing at cities and harbours, to fire at the coastal fortifications, and any troop concentrations on the beach of the main island.

Staffel one on the Ostlandish aircraft carrier Zuberbühler had just lift off. The figheter ace Oberst von Heichmann in command of the staffel. They were to find any enemy ships blocking the path for the invasion force.
The twelve planes were armed with the usual RB99 AMRAAM's and auto cannon, and 6 RB 15F anti shipping missiles.

von Eichmanns group flew straight towards the main island of Coastal pirates, searching for enemy ships.
Three 'dots' appeared on the radar screen in von Heichmanns cock pit.
"Fire at those ships" he said to his flight, over the radio.
Six RB 15F's flew straight towards the ships, on low altitude. Two for each ships.
"That should be enough" von Heichmann thought, following the flight of the missiles on the radar screen.

Seven staffels, alltogether eighty four Gripens, lifted just after von Heichmanns group had taken off. They too flew straight towards the main island of the coastal pirates, but on a higher altitude. They were armed with one BK 39 (OOC: a 'bomb' containing multiple small bombs, used against runways and roads) and six RB 99 AMRAAM's. Their main target was any enemy airfields and aircraft that they could find.
The leader of this big group was Oberstleutnant Brenner.
He was confident that the attack would suceed. And he knew that if they were attacked, they had help coming their way, with another group of five staffels of Gripens, also with enemy airfields and airplanes as their primary target.

Two groups of four Stealth corvettes moved to the south, to intercept any civilian ships leaving the islands. This to make sure, that no leaders of coastal pirates ran away.

(OOC: They are, of course, not entirely invisible but they are really hard to spot if the distance are greater than eight km (4.97 miles).
They are also harder to detect by submarines than other major ships, this because they use a 'silent' water jet engine. )

The massive assault group formed together on the outside fringe of known enemy ships. They waited a while as 9th, 10th, and 11th Fleets (subs) formed a foward, bow-line battle screen. If it was in the oceans, they'd find it. As one, the navy moved foward into the battleships' "devestating" range of fire, and prepared for a massive bombardment, followed by a giant invasion, in which the entire army would take part...

(to Nieder Ostland)

News spreads on the hasty actions of Dunkum and the forces of Ostland speed up the plans for defensive hit and terror bombing of the islands. The commander in his new ship orders and immediate cruise missile strike against the hardened targets on the islands to help aid the bombers sent.

The fire plumes from the ships scattered here and there north of Coastal Pirates territory take off with great power and precedence. The sky barely lit by the halfmoon shows the streaks of smoke from the missiles like a web reaching up into the air.

"General! We have masses of ship missiles coming at us from the Northern ocean area. Satellite surveillance shows that they are about 300 miles out at least and spread out. They haven't made formation yet."

The general turns to another man in the monitor filled control bunker, "Soldier, what does the LDN have to fight these with!"

The soldier looking over a monitor scrolling through lists running by so fast that you would be hard pressed to be able to pick up much but a word or two and the list of munitions rolls over and over. "General, we have a few StA, but they are not nearly as accurate as needed to hit them. The Anti air guns are useless as well for this type of attack."

The General turns to a young woman how is standing by his side. "Soldier, get the order out and prepare for impact. We'll have to formulate a plan to take out those systems. Call in the IO immediately."

The woman replies, "Sir, right away." She leaves the room to make several private calls.

The General sounds off to the room of 50 men, "Well set the alarm, I want all key personnel in their bunkers... Damn you John. Well those things cost about a million a shot, there is no way they can toss out more then a few of them before having to step into our turf. Then we'll strike back"

The streets of Red Shore are busy with car travel, motorcycles cruise the streets between all-night shops, and night hang outs. Military and police forces wander the streets looking to keep crime to a minimum by excessive force. The the siren screamed out to silence all activity. Everyone who is able takes a look at the police and soldiers to get the clue as to what is going on. The Soldiers are the first to react and shout out as they head to their vehicle a block back, "Everyone get indoors and in safe places! We are under attack!"

The Streets fill with panic and the police do little to curb it as they themselves get into their car to drive through the streets of their area announcing the impending attack on the islands. "Get indoors! Stay away from military installations! Only use the phone service for an emergency!"

The rest of the nation takes up similar precautions and after 10 minutes the people in a panic and rushing around to get out of the streets the missiles start to hit. Indiscriminately the attacks strike in Red Shore at Hotels, shopping establishments, large homes, schools, libraries, office buildings, roadways, airports, naval yards, construction factories, military ships. Estimates are at 500,000 deaths from the strike. All future construction is halted for the next 1 month at least. 5 Battleships are heavily damaged. The military airport is damaged and useless.

Devonshire naval harbor sustains several hits to the sub bay and the structure fails closing off the entrance to the facility. The rest of the sites take minimal damage from the assault. In total all but 10 of the battleships are effectively left which are about the waters of Coastal Pirates setting up sparse mine fields and dropping unknown crates in a 10 mile radius of the shores of the land, returning regularly to reload their cargo to place more defenses in the water.

(OOC: I will determine what cannons and missile batteries are left when I get an idea of how many missiles are sent and you have.)

The air force is still effective, but reduced to 125 for lack of airstrips till they get transported to other areas. All military personnel are out in the streets keeping people and vehicles off the roads for effective response times. The Helicopter forces are unaffected by the strikes.

(to Dunkum)

The third and fifth airborne units of Dunkum take off for an ill fated flight to the islands of the Coastal pirates. If this country was a lesser power of military technology, this trip would be devastating to their lands. But defenses around the islands were designed for such instances, and the me were well paid to know how they are supposed to perform for maximum efficiency.

As the planes reached within 50 miles of the island the missile systems took aim and launched. 500 batteries fired out and the mix of guided, heat, and radar missiles found their targets without too many failures. After the forces reached the 25 mile mark there were 10% left of what originally started out on the mission to harm the islands. At 25 miles out the Flak cannons opened up on the planes as well.

The forces never had a chance to get within the airspace overhead, and a sole bomber dropped it's payload on CP battleship. The battleship sinks into the shallow harbor with great fire and turmoil, as the missile batteries take out the last ship. The assault at night was a devastating loss to the Dunkum military, and a great victory to the CP forces.

P.P.S. Arkhangel...

"Admiral, they've been hit." shouted an officer.

"I know, all ahead with the operation!"

The Battleships of the EAFPPN turned broadside, and opened up on the shores of CP with their railguns.

"Admiral, the Archangel is reporting. Their de-orbit route will lead them to our position, they'll be able to help." called the comm. officer.

"Good."

The Archangel was a ship of 345 meters, and could travel in space, the atmosphere, and water. It was both a battleship, armed with several high powered laser cannons, and as a mobile suit carrier.

"ETA: 1 hour."

(Regrouping of the time line)

As night starts to end, and the missile bombardment of Nieder Ostland stops, we now find that the naval forces are scattered about the north of the Coastal Pirates Nation as they travel in route to blockade the access of the ships to other nations.

Dunkum's first bomber run was unsuccessful at best, but Ostland put a hurried dent into the infrastructure and military of CP. (Though the extent of which will not be determined until Ostland gets back with some needed details)

Pschycotic Pschycos is sending in a large ship of sorts to extinguish the lives of all the Pirates in one hour. As dawn will break the last fight of the out numbered Coastal Pirates will begin.

"General, so large craft is coming in from space. We are not sure what purpose it serves. It may be assistance from our region by an unknown benefactor... Or it might be another ally that is coming to lend a hand." The soldier at the monitors reporting in satellite data announces to the men in the bunker.

"Let me look over that." The general walks closer to data readouts to get an idea what purpose it serves, or who it is from. "I can't say... Try contacting it. Open all channels to get a connection to the vessel what ever it is."

"Yes sir." The young man signals to a mate and they both begin attempting to call out in all available channels, "Craft entering into Coastal Pirates territory, respond."

"Captain Ramius, Coastal Pirates is trying to contact us." shouted the Comm. Officer.

"What, you don't mean to say that they haven't realized that we belong to PP?" she replied.

"I guess not. I'll tell them the bad news." he responded.

"Good, Lieutenent Badgiruel, dispatch the GINNs in their atmosphere shields. They'll get there long before us. Hurry, It's not long till atmosphere interphase."

"Aye, aye, Ma'am!"

On the underside of the ship, a hatch opened, and three pods were released, each holding three GINN mobile suits. With their heavy assualt machine guns, they were perfect for anti-tank warfare.

"Ma'am, atmosphere interphase in 30 seconds. Going to reentry phase 5, ejecting ablative gel!" shouted the pilot.

"All right then."

Explosive bolts on the outside of the pods detonated, and the armour panels flew away. On each of the three platforms, the three suits stood up, and lept off into the air. They further slowed by using parachutes, and as they approached the ground, they unslung their machine guns, and began firing.

OOC: Sorry for my long time offline. not my fault thou. blame my stepmom. (she forgot the password to the only puter here with an internet connection. grrr )
Anyways. Those cruise missiles, well, i might have been a bit too optimistic on how many a fleet of ships actually can carry, if ya see to the price of it. ehrm. my bad,. sorry.
But, say each battleship carries 12 of them. Then ya have some idea on the impact! :) (Or, uhm, is that way to many? I'm more an army/airforce guy. Naval battles aint really my cup of tea.)

The transport plaes with the paratroopers drew closer and closer.
"Achtung. 5 minutes to drop zone"
The falschirmsjägers made themsleves ready to jump out. Everyone tried to hide how nervous they really were
"Four minutes!" the leutnant shouted, trying to be heard over the engines roaring.

The naval landing group also drew closer. their mission to land 3 hours after the paratroopers. They had the most difficult mission. To tie up enemy forces, long enough for the landing troops to storm the beaches without too heavy resistance.
But, if the landing forces wouldn't reach the paratroopers fast enough, they surely would be killed, without too much problems, since they were only a relatively small force.
The speakers on all the ships sounded at the very same time, and the admirals voice was heard.
"Three hours left. Get your things ready. Letters to your famillies should be handed to your platoon officer within the next two hours! Schnell!"

So far the trip had been pretty smooth, wthout any attacks from the enemy, but they all knew that the further they got to the lands of the enemy, the higher the risk that they was fired upon

In all the planes they all stood up, in lines, facing the bay doors.
".........10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1.. Jetzt! Schnell, schnell!"

All the paratroopers jumped out of the planes, and begun their drop, down towards the enemy, hoping that this would come as somewhat of a surprise, and that the previous bombardment of the enemy installation had been successfull, if not, they could really drop down to a hell.

Eminating from the Navy, troop transports began gliding foward. Under them, submarines lurked for protection. They would follow them in till the water was too shallow. A force of 5 million soldiers, with more in reserve in the fleet, were ready to disembark the moment they landed.
