The Teutonic Knights of Waffen-SS Ostland have conquered the Ganja Farmers' Cooperative of Tribes of Zion. It is now officially the Mission Territory of Tribes of Zion and the people are to be converted from Rastafarians to Christians.

WHEREAS the people of Tribes of Zion have long been enslaved in the darkness of the false religion of Rastafarianism, and;

1. There shall be no religion permitted to be practiced in Tribes of Zion, save that of the Holy Catholic Church.
2. All residents of Tribes of Zion shall suibmit themselves within 30 days to be instructed for Christian baptism.

5. Anyone found teaching, practicing, or promoting the false religion of Jah

6. Anyone found teaching, practicing, or promoting other false religions shall
be banished, on penalty of death should they return.
7. The use of cannabis for any purpose other than medicinal purposes, or the making of products from hemp, or its cultivation without the permission of the Knights shall be banned under penalty of death and confiscation of land.
8. The playing of any music promoting the false religion of Rastafari shall be banned.

In a related decree, the Grand Knight, Ulrich von Sachsenburg, banned the wearing of the "dreadlock" hair style and the Rastafarian color combination of red, gold, and green.
The Catholic bishops of Waffen-SS Ostland and Tribes of Zion have condemned the executions and the anti-Rastafarian decrees for their harshness.

The "High Priest of Jah", Ras Selassie II, and 39 other Rastafarian leaders have been executed for urging resistance to the new order in Tribes of Zion.
While tied to stakes in a pool of gasoline, a method of death meant to send a stern warning to all who oppose the work of God, the condemned men were given one last chance to repent of their false religion and put their faith in Our Lord. Every one refused, some even shouting blasphemies against Him and His Church. The command to light the gasoline was given, and in moments their wretched souls were given over to eternal damnation.

The Grand Master was at a loss what to do in the face of the oipposition of the Catholic hierarchy to his program of Christianizing Tribes of Zion, when a thought hit him. Christianity had only recently been brought out of hiding in Waffen-SS Ostland and had little if any hold in Trbies of Zion. The loyalty of the people to the Roman Church was not deep, and the loyalty of the Knights was to himself more than to any bishop. Why not follow the lead of the English king Henry VIII? No one whould have any regrets save for the bisihops and the Pope, and there was precious littkle they could do to stop him.

I cannot approve your request, for reasons both practical and moral.
I have ordered the dismantling and destruction of Waffen-SS Ostland's nuclear weapons. These weapons were created during the Reichsprotektorat and were poorly constructed in the beginning. Their subsequent maintenance has been so poor that their use, in fact their continued existence, poses a greater danger to us than to any real or potential enemy. The same applies to our Nazi-era stocks of chemical weapons.
Furthermore, even if we had such weapons in a usable condition, what you propose is in effect genocide. We came to Tribes of Zion to convert the people, not to exterminate them. We are not Nazis.
It is my decision, after consulting with the Grand Council, that you are to order an immediate cease-fire and to open negotiations with the Rastafarians.
We will offer any reasonable terms, up to and including withdrawing our forces from Tribes of Zion.

The Grand Master and the Grand Council had to face the hard reality. The Knights, although intended as a full-scale modern fighting force, were currently little more than an armed national police force. They had never faced a challenge greater than putting down local bandits and mobs of lightly armed pagans. They had neither the training nor the equipment to sustain a long-term occupation of a nation with a hostile populace and an organized armed resistance, let alone taking on a well-armed foreign enemy such as Feazanthia, and would not have such capabilities for some time to come.

The sentence of death by beheading has been carried out this morning against the 14 Knights who conspired for the death of the Grand Master and the Grand Council. Chief among these was former Grand Knight of Tribes of Zion, Sir Ulrich von Sachsenburg. The traitors were beheaded with their own swords in the military prison at Kreuzhaven.
The sentence of death by public burning has been carried out this morning against the 6 Knights who apostasized against the Church of Waffen-SS Ostland and converted to the false religion of Rastafari. Chief among these was Technical Sergeant Egon Weissmuller, who betrayed the communications technology of the Knights to the Rastafarian rebels in Tribes of Zion and was
captured attempting to desert to the rebels. The apostates were given the
opportunity to recant and embrace the true faith; had Weissmuller done so he would have been beheaded as a traitor in the military prison and spared the shame of public burning; for it a far worse thing to be condemned as an enemy of the Most High God, than of the State. None of these, however, recanted, and the command was given for them to be soaked with gasoline and set afire in front of the Cathedral of Saint Charles Martel in Kreuzhaven.
Let their fate be a warning to all who stand against the Grand Master and the True Church.

Lager Deutschfurt feels the ground tremble and as they look to the sky they see the sun and sky blotted out by helicopters and planes. From the ground forces comes tanks and ground troops making the ground look like it moves. At the front you can see a specially designed tank from it a loud voice roars above the crowd, "This is General Tiberius! Gentlemen the cavalry has arrived!" They stop with in meters outside the camp, all the helicopters land letting out their troops. The soldiers start to set up a camp that is immense. Outside your gates the General and his guards and his cabinet walk up, "I would like to meet with Knight Commander Helmut von Ehrenfeld."

Knight Commander Helmut von Ehrenfeld welcomed the General, and explained the situation to him over bratwurst sandwiches and good Ostlandic schnapps.

The remaining Knights forces were distributed as follows:
8000 men at Lager Deutschfurt which was now the command, supply, and medical center for the Knights Tribes of Zion, adjacent to Addis Town, 50 km north of Zion City;
1000 men each at four forward bases--Alfa, 10 km east of Boboshanti;
Beta, 8 km north of Dreads Fort; Gamma, 10 km north of Zion City; and Delta,
8 km northeast of Boboshanti. From these points, active pressure was kept on the Rastas to prevent their attacking in force, and frequent reconnaissance was possible throughout three-quarters of the country. (The Southwest around Fort Marley had fallen completely to the Rastas.)
Each of the bases was armed with heavy artillery,a pool of fighting vehicles,
and electronic communications and survelllance equipment. The Knights had
control of enough territory that all bases could be supplied by road, except
Beta where the roads were increasingly unsafe and supplies had to go mainly
by helicopter.
The Rastas were armed mainly with automatic rifles and had been able to capture some artillery and RPGs but did not have effective anti-aircraft weapons and virtually no air force. Ras-I Kingson's threats about powerful
weapons were considered by Knights intelligence to be a bluff. Boboshanti and
the other two Rasta strongholds, Dreads Fort and Fort Marley, however, remained heavily fortified and much of their activity took place underground, which made them nearly impervious to conventional attack. Boboshanti was especially an underground command post.
Zion City, the capital, was being increasingly fortified but it was vulnerable to attack from air. The Knights forces in Tribes of Zion had lacked an effective air force but it was clear that Belshazzaria had air power to spare. A well organized army like..(at this point the conversation was interrupted by explosions in the distance)

Rasta gunners had gotten within sight of Deutschfurt and although they lacked the range to bombard the base, or to hit any incoming aircraft, the temptation to fire at all those planes was too much. A great quantity of valuable ammunition was wasted before order was restored, giving away the Rasta positions to Belshazzarian fighter pilots who proceeded to destroy them. Captain Cliff would have faced severe consequences for this breakdown of discipline had not a Belshazzarian air-to-surface missile found him and left hardly enough of him to bury.

OOC: I will be mostly offline 12/24/04-1/2/05 with both Tribes of Zion and Waffen-SS Ostland. I'll be interested to see what's left of them when I get back.

IC: Regrettably, Knight Commander Helmut von Ehrenfeld could not offer the
General some good Ostlandic beer since the supply truck had been hit by a Rasta RPG. He did, however, have some excellent chocolate torte made by the monks at Ostendorf, where his uncle had been abbot before refusing to sign the Oath of Succession.
"As I was saying, our weakness against the Rastas was that even though we had superior weapons and technology, we were not prepared to fight against an enemy who knew how to use guerrilla tactics and the element of surprise, and had the support of most of the population. Alsio our forces were not prepared for a large scale war and long-term occupation under such conditions. A well organized army such as yours, however, having such experience plus the technology, has a definite advantage. The Rastas are determined fighters but in a direct contest, they will be unable to withstand you."

It was clear to the Rasta leaders that against concentrated power such as that of Belshazzaria, Zion City could not be defended especially against attack from the air. The Zionese government began evacuation of all essential
personnel to the command center at Boboshanti.

is moving soliders and equipment in large numbers and we believe they intend
an intensification of hostilities. We have neither the manpower nor the weaponry to withstand a full scale assault on Zion City, and even though we have retreated to the fortified center of Boboshanti, we believe that Belshazzaria has weapons capable of penetrating its defenses . If your naval forces are able to relieve us, we request that they do so immediately.
We are grateful for the concern of your nation for ours.

(Kingson had been a professor of English literature at Zion University, with a specialty in Chaucer, before it was shut down by the Knights. He kept his "I and I Rasta Man" way of speaking mainly for public exhortations to rally the nation; for most of them it was their mother tongue.)

"Sir I have to tell you the truth, if this nation as you say will not heed the armies of Belshazzaria it will be razed to the ground. I have authorized my planes to start bombardments of the rural and urban areas. We are moving into position at Zion City. How can such a holy name be desicrated by such evil! Well its time to destroy these rebels."

He grabs a radio and speaks into, "You are all authorized to shoot and kill those you deem violent."
What you heard him say, you can hear off in the distance. All of a sudden gunfire erupts from the same direction.
"Uzis, yep definitly my troops," the General looks at the Knight, "I guess they found some people they deemed violent." He starts to laugh.
"Do no worry gentlemen, if I have to, the whole population will be equalized. Now I have to get back to my troops."
A rumbling of the ground and sounds of things above them, "It seems the air force has begun their bombardment."

News of great joy inside Lager Deutschfurt--this time the beer truck had arrived safely! And not one, but two large tankers of Teutoburger lager, in time for Christmas for the troops.

Deep inside the underground command center of Boboshanti, Ras-I Kingson,
High Priest of JAH and leader of the Commonwealth, was meeting with the other government and military leaders of Tribes of Zion. There was no joy in the room. Everyone knew what lay ahead.
In the face of a massive Belshazzarian assault by land and air, Zion City must inevitably fall, and it was only a matter of time before the Rasta-controlled area was reduced to the strongholds of Boboshanti, Fort Marley and Dreads Fort. There was as yet no response to the appeal to Feazanthia to intervene, and such an intervention might not be enough to stop the Belshazzarians.
Boboshanti and Fort Marley could probably hold out the longest, but if Belshazzaria had heavy ordnance capable of blasting through concrete and penetrating underground bunkers, then these could be wiped out in a matter of hours. Otherwise Boboshanti and Fort Marleycould each hold out for years in a Masada-type last stand, but if they were cut off from the surrounding area, the end must be the same as that of Masada, or worse.
Dreads Fort was the most vulnerable, being likely able to withstand a ground assault but poorly protected against aerial bombardment.
Surrender was abhorrent to everyone present, yet the alternative, unless
Feazanthia intervened--and perhaps even then--was inevitable national suicide. The only hopeful course, it was finally and painfully agreed, was to wait for a response from Feazanthia and then make a final decision.

This is Admiral Vince Haughterson of the 26th Feazanthian Expeditionary Fleet. I have intercepted your transmission to our Commander and have relayed it on a far more secure channel. Our ships are at your disposal. Unfortunately, at this time, all I can offer you is several squadrons of fighters and shore bombardment capabilities. We know not the naval capabilities of Belshazzaria, and we dare not risk one of our dreadnoughts to capture.
There is an option, however.
Our primary mission, before we recieved news of your plight, was to secure more oil derricks in the middle east. I was given command of a large number of infantry and armored vehicles, plus several extra squadrons of heavy attack jets. These are in the homeland, waiting for my word to set out after us by air. Our transport planes are too large to land on our aircraft carriers, and must refuel and disengage their cargo at a secure location such as an airport. We are too far away from home for a mid-air jettison of personnel and cargo. Should you secure a military airbase for us (or, should you possess one already), the troops under my command will be more than enough to overwhelm your oppressors.
The military teams we can spare at the moment are en-route via LCAC. Please secure a shore landing zone and radio me the coordinates on this channel. An AF-S12 Peregrine spyplane is being dispatched from the Rhyza to provide us with intelligence data. Once we gain this data, our weapon systems will be able to strike anything within a 1600 kilometer radius of our ships. Rest assured, the Belshazzarians will think twice about attempting to interfere with your way of life.

Over the loudspeakers now set up throughout the camps of the Belshazzarian force, General Tiberius's voice is heard.
"Armies of the Most High God, move into the cities and wipe clean the filth that dare oppose you. I have been given a communiuque from the PMC himself he says that he has read the Old Testemant and believes that "the black flag has place in this war," meaning that kill all who surrender destroy without qualms. Civilians do NOT exist here! They are all the enemies of the Most High God! Now for the pilots, there is an armada of ships off this shore, keep an eye on them...wait one second...bomb them to bits. I want three squadrons attacking them. Also, find any airport even commercial and destroy, we do not want these people attacking us from the skies. They have weapons somewhere, also bombers, bomb the hell out of the cities, and use bunker busters on Zion City. They will rue the day they opposed the Waffen-SS Ostland, the Belshazzarian Empire, and The Most High God!"
After his speech soldiers go on there march to clear and clean up the population of Tribes of Zion. It seems that they are going to neutralize the threat. :mp5: :sniper: :gundge: :mp5:

OOC-Fifteen jets? You do realize that you're going up against three aircraft carriers, correct? Not to mention a slew of warships. They have guns, and missiles, and radar, and, if worse comes to worse, pointy things.

"ADMIRAL! ENEMY BOGIES INBOUND!"
"What?" stammered Haughterson, spinning around on his heal. "Rhyza! Confirm!"
"Rhyza and Botswana confirm. Belshazzarian bombers inbound, fifteen of them."
"Scramble Red Squadron. Let's show these fundies what they're up against. Arm ASTER tubes one through twenty-six, ready to fire on my mark. Send word to the homeland for reinforcements, on the double. If it's war they want, it's war they'll get! FIRE!"

Twenty-six ASTER-30 surface-to-air missiles fired at the approaching Belshazzarian squadrons. If that didn't stop them, twenty-five AF-X11 air superiority fighters each carrying a pair of PHEONIX long range missiles (not to mention other air-to-air missiles and a pair of .50 cal guns) would.

Feazanthian troops were now moving through the cities of Zion. A single airport had been commandeered, and several rudimentary ones were being assembled in non-essential fields. The functional airport was being outfitted with a naval-grade radar and was patrolled by AR-130 "Sabretooth" tanks. The SAMs on these tanks would ward away any airborne intruders, and their 150mm main cannons would discourage a ground assault. In addition to the monstrous Sabretooths, AR-290 "Penetrator" tanks also patrolled the grounds and kept the cities safe. These light tanks were the ultimate in urban and close-range anti-armor vehicles, having the powerful GAU-8 Vulcan cannon mounted on them (the gun that the A-10 uses). As of yet, the Feazanthian infantry capabilities were somewhat limited, but that would change with the dozens of AF-C214 Starlifters that were making their way slowly towards the fleet.

In Feazanthia, a second battlegroup began prepping for launch. This group consisted mainly of aircraft carriers, ground attack vessels and supply ships. Belshazzaria had no known navy, and it was estimated that the Archimonde already on station would be more than enough to deal with any naval reinforcements that attempted to break through the Feazanthian line.

"Uh General all 15 of the bombers were destroyed."
"What?!? Get me the PMC on the line tell him to send as much of our fleet that he can muster! And I already know about the damned Feazanthians on the shores. Tell the armies to attack them now, and tell the damned bombers to attack their airbase!"
"Yes, sir."


A little time later...
One a screen stands the PMC Cardinal Haganah and he seems enraged...
"I understand General Tiberius, but Belshazzaria can not commit genocide nor am I willing to send any ship to your area. There is much upheaval at home due to your murdering of the innocents, when I made that comment about the black flag I DID NOT MEAN FOR YOU TO KILL INNOCENTS GENERAL! Consider yourself up for court-martial!"
"But Cardinal Haganah..."
"NO buts General, how dare you kill innocents! We destroy the enemy combatants not the population of a nation! Now before I send your replacement, I want you to take out Boboshanti with the damned bunker bombs our scientists have made for you! I want this ended NOW! After the Rastas have surrendered, then we will deal with the Feazanthians."
"But sir!"
"PMC OUT!"
The screen fades to black, the general turns to the others, "You heard him take out Boboshanti and take out Fort Marley while your at it, and re-call the troops from an assault on the Feazanthians. Damn! Well go and tell the bombers!"

Very soon afterwards a wave of bombers attack Boboshanti and Fort Marley with bunker busters and an assortment of other bombs and missiles. After the bombings end, about 3 hours, a horde of Belshazzarian ground forces (973,159) move into the area and charge the two strongholds. They fired RPG's and Grenades into the stronghold walls and into the strongholds and then assault the interior.

Back at the main camp, General Tiberius was talking to his staff as a man in a black trenchcoat, black hat, and black sunglasses enters and shoots the General in the back of the head. He nods to the staff and points at Colonel Ben-Gurion, "You are now a general and the leader of this invasion, the court-martial was tried back at Belshazzar, the General was found guilty." The man leaves and steps onto a helicopter and leaves.

"Captain! Didja hear that?" a young private shook his commanding officer to awareness.
"What is it now, Michaels? I'm tryin' to get some damned slee..." the captain then heard it. Explosions, approximately ten miles north of their position. Captain Eckstone commanded the 105th armored battalion, who had been designated to patrol the outer edges of the Feazanthian control zone. "Call up OVERLORD. Any Rasta holdings out here?"
"Uh...hold on a minute, sir," stammered the rookie. He called up the three dimensional HUD, which showed the Belshazzarians moving on Fort Marley.
"Damn," whispered Eckstone. "Radio the Archimonde and tell Admiral Haugterson to send reinforcements. I want air cover, now! Load the guns with Inferno rounds and prepare for close-quarters combat. ON THE DOUBLE, PRIVATE!"

The tank column moved at high speed towards the beseiged fort, firing off their napalm-filled Inferno rounds to deal with the infantry hordes. The battalion only had a few of the anti-infantry APUs, and their chain guns would probably not be enough. The Penetrators accelerated ahead, firing their GAU-8s at air and land targets of opportunity. Until the air forces arrived, the eight-barreled COILs and six S-2 SAM launchers on the AD-54 Linebackers would keep most of the bombers and their weapons at bay. A full wing (30) of AF-X1B multipurpose fighters were launched from the fleet, flying at mach 2 towards Fort Marley.

Meanwhile, at the Feazanthian-controlled airbase, the Starlifters had started landing. They each carried up to eight hundred and forty troops, or a multitude of ground vehicles. The planes themselves disengaged their cargo and refueled before heading back to Feazanthia near the South Pole.

We have secured an area immediately south of Boboshanti and out of range of artillery/AA fire from the Teutonic Knights at Forward Base Delta. This area is being prepared as an airstrip large enough to land all craft up to and including major cargo flights. As of [transmission halts as bomb hits communications center]

In a second-floor apartment in the capital of Belshazzaria, near the residence of PMC Cardinal Haganah, a nervous young black man waited by the window.
An underground Rasta cell in Addis Town, positioned close to the Knights at Lager Deutschfurt in an area the Knights at least nominally controlled, had been able to study the ways of the Christians and prepare one of their number for a very dangerous mission.
He had entered Belshazzaria from a third country with carefully forged travel papers. These identified him as a Catholic seminarian from an African country, sent to Belshazzaria by his bishop for advanced studies.
It had been painful for the young man to shave off his dreadlocks and exchange his Zionese Rasta-talk for the accented King's English of an educated African. He knew, however, that these were necessary sacrifices if the mission were to succeed, to the greater glory of JAH Rastafari.
He had been watching the Prime Minister's residence for several days, and knew that the moment was nearing. He opened the false bottom of his suitcase and assembled the launcher, carefully made of plastic and other materials which an airport X-ray would not detect; and then inserted a rocket-propelled grenade, made with equal care. There was a possiblity that
the RPG might be as dangerous to himself as to the PMC, but no matter. He knew that he had only a slight chance of escape even if it found its target.
Brimstone and fire were about to come to Cardinal Haganah, the wrath of JAH unleashed on Bablyon. The young man prepared his weapon, and waited.

At last the PMC's official limousine came into view. The young man steadied his aim. The news of the fall of Boboshanti made him all the more determined
that Haganah must die.
The plastic barrel of the launcher, however, was unequal to its intended task. As he fired, the last thing he saw was the flash of the grenade exploding in the barrel.

Word was received at Lager Deutschfurt of the assassination attempt on PMC Haganah, and of evidence pointing to the Rastas in Addis Town. Knights intelligence had been monitoring what they could of the underground cell, but had been unable to get close enough for real action against the Rastas. Now, however, the decision was made to round up all known or suspected underground members in Addis Town and vicinity. The net could be cast wide at first, then narrowed to those who truly posed a threat.
Knights security faced few limitations on their methods of interrogation. Some of the security officers were former SS soldiers who had eagerly joined the Knights for the Zionese campaign, seeing it as a war for the Aryan race. They looked forward to teaching the Rastas the meaning of pain.

Attempts to arrest members of the Rastafarian underground in Addis Town have been met with armed resistance. Knights armored units, however, have largely subdued and eliminated the Rasta pockets, with no fatalities and minimal injury to themselves. At this hour sporadic fighting continues in Addis
Town, but the Knights expect to have the area secured by morning.

Brigadier Dexter Marley, at Dreads Fort, was awaiting the worst.
Boboshanti had fallen, and Ras-I Kingson and his government were presumed dead. Contact had been lost with Fort Marley, still under heavy Belshazzarian
bombardment. Feazanthian forces had entered the battle for Fort Marley but the outcome was far from certain.
Marley was not aware of either Belshazzarian or Feazanthian movements towards Dreads Fort, but inevitably the Belshazzarians, at least, would come, and if the Feazanthians did not get there in time, it would fall to him to prepare for the last stand of the Rastas.
He would have liked to try and neutralize the Teutonic Knights at Forward Base Beta, who controlled the northern approach to Dreads Fort, but he knew that they were too well armed and fortified. An attack would only draw protective forces away from Dreads Fort and leave it vulnerable. In the battle to come, all hands would be needed.

I have been informed by our Office of State Security of the existence of a link between the Rastafarian fighters in Tribes of Zion, and a banned organization in Waffen-SS Ostland, the Legion of Asgard
The Legion of Asgard is a militant pagan force which seeks to overthrow the Christian order in Ostland and impose the ancient Nordic religion on the state. When the Teutonic Knights took control of Ostland after the fall of the Nazi Reichsprotektorat, we defeated the Legion in open combat. Elements of the Legion survived underground, however, and have absorbed the remnants of other pagan militias. The revolt in Tribes of Zion provided them with an ally against the Faith. We have evidence that they have been stealing weapons and supplies from Knights arsenals, sometimes with the help of sympathizers within the Knights, and have been trading them to the Rastas for cannabis ("ganja") which they sell in our cities and abroad for a substantial illicit profit.
We also have reason to believe that the Legion, on behalf of the Rastas, is planning terrorist activities against our nation and yours. As Nordic people,
they can operate unnoticed in places where a black person would be conspicuous.

I would like to see if you would be able to send some more of your knights. The revolution has become much smaller, and control of this nation is becoming much easier by the day.

Kampfgruppe "Glaubenschutz" (Defender of the Faith) has been ordered to Forward Base Beta to prepare for the assault on Dreads Fort. This includes 20,000 infantrymen; 1000 armored fighting vehicles; and 1000 artillery pieces in 4 units. We expect to have control of the area around Dreads Fort within
a few hours and can surround and besiege it at any time. We will however, need the help of your air force in reducing Dreads Fort as our own artillery
are insufficient for this purpose.
We are also preparing a second battle group for deployment in the Fort Marley sector, but we do not know the current status of Feazanthian forces in that area. Please provide any intelligence reports you may have, so that we may know what forces are required and how to proceed. The area around Fort Marley has for a long time been under rebel control and our intelligence there is limited to nonexistent.
