The ground shook as a troop of Panzers rumbled along, their tracks tearing up the grass underneath. Anton Braun, Leutnant in the Imperial Army of Pergast, sat atop his bucking steed with his binoculars in his hands. He called back to one of the other machines,

"Drescher! The mountain air might do us good, eh?"

Unteroffizier Drescher, who commanded the unit's Jagdpanzer, waved back, "I wouldn't know" he yelled, "This is only the third time I've left Dresden"

"City boy!", taunted Anton.

"And proud, Herr Braun. Where are we headed again?"

"Nuremberg, Drescher, or didn't you read the map I gave you?"

"I must admit, Herr Braun, I merely glanced at it"

"Never mind, Drescher. Nuremberg is a beautiful city, and it would be a shame to need to fight our way in"

Leutnant Hertz leapt from the transport aircraft into open sky, the ground stretching out below him. He could see their target, Munich, from up here. Hertz spread his arms and readied himself, before yanking his parachute open. Beside him a truck hung suspended in the air, it's multiple parachutes billowing above it. Below him was the target field, already marked with a couple of flares by a recon squadron. A few short seconds later Hertz skidded onto the ground at a slight angle, a practiced manouver which vastly lessened the impact.

"Third platoon!", he bellowed. "Third platoon! On me!"

It took a few minutes for the last of his men to land and three trucks to be secured, but soon the thirty-one men he commanded were assembled. Across the field he could see the other two platoons of his company were gathered together now. Hertz checked his map and his compass, marking the designated rendezvous for their battalion.

"Third platooon!, move out!"

"Herr Kuefer, Bavarian troops have been spotted by our scouts. Approximately one and a half thousand, light armour only. Snipers have a shot on their CO and request permission to fire"

Oberleutnant Kuefer, Field Commander of the Pergast Expeditionary Force looked up from his maps, "Show me"

"About...Here", said the aide, stabbing a finger onto the map. The enemy was between them and Nuremberg.

Kuefer nodded, "Move the first light infantry here, with the fourth and eighth squadrons into position here and...here, the second light and first squadron will advance past their right flank. When they report, instruct the snipers to open fire on their targets. The second light, the first light, fourth and the eighth will then advance, and the enemy will be driven onto the second and first"

The aide saluted, "Jawohl, Herr Kuefer"

OOC: :D Thankyoumuchly. I will.

IC: "Herr Kuefer?"

Oberleutnant Kuefer sat in a collapsable chair, engrossed in thought, "Hrm?"

The aide saluted, "Oberleutnant Rosenthal of the 12th light reports the attack was successful, Herr Kuefer"

"Casualties?"

"Remarkably few, Herr Kuefer, the enemy was in a state of disarray. I'm told that none of our troops sustained any life-threatening injuries. The Panzer squadrons attacked first, which would explain it"

"Prisoners?"

"Approximately eight hundred, Herr Kuefer. I'm told one of the enemy officers decided to save his men by ordering them to surrender. We think that around three hundred fled at some point during the confrontation"

Kuefer stared at nothing for a second, "Send the fourth squadron to search for runaways, but tell them I want prisoners, not corpses. You don't gain people's trust by butchering their sons"

OOC: Oh, sorry, it's Earth II

The road to Munich was newly laid, and the Para's five-tons sped along at around forty miles an hour. Even so, it would take at least two hours to reach the city due to the winding path it took.
Oberleutnant Krieger, commanding officer of the 15th's 2nd battalion, sat in the cab of the leading truck, smoking a Davidoff Classic. Behind him were another sixty-three trucks, each laden with ten of his men. About four or five miles back was the 3rd battalion, under Oberleutnant Nachtmann. Thus far the Bavarians hadn't suspected a thing, and they'd advanced unopposed, but it was almost too much to hope that they give up the city without a fight.
Krieger finished his cigarette and flicked the stub out the window, before activating his radio,

"This is Krieger to Nachtmann, we're approaching the outskirts, over"

"Nachtmann here" crackled the reply, "Roger that"

"Krieger to second battalion, prepare for combat"
-----
Oberleutnant Krieger sat in the cab, smoking another Davidoff. It had been easier than he'd thought. They'd entered the city, no problems, and the battalions had headed for their targets; the third had the garrison (apparently they'd walked in on the garrison during dinner), and the second had the town hall...
OOC: Cue flashback
IC: They'd pulled up at the front of the building, a huge, gothic-style structure.

At the door was a pair of guards, local soldiers from the garrison. Krieger's Oberfeldwebel, Baecker, looked at him,

"Herr Krieger?" he queried.

"With me, Baecker" replied Krieger. He got out of the truck and strode to the backflap, lifting it up and revealing the ten paras inside, "Stay here until we get back" he instructed their Unteroffizier. Krieger dropped the flap and, with Baecker at his heels, made his way towards the guards.

"Who are you?" asked the guard, barely over nineteen. Krieger said nothing and kept walking towards him, "Who are..." began the guard, fumbling for his pistol, before Krieger felled him with a fist to the stomach.

"PUT IT ON THE GROUND!" yelled Baecker at the other guard, his P04 raised, "PUT IT ON THE FUCKING GROUND!"

The man dropped his pistol, a mask of fear upon his face. Baecker stepped forward and kicked him in the back of the knees, forcing him to the ground with a cry.

Krieger activated his radio, "2nd battalion will advance"

Looking back across the mass of vehicles, the six hundred and forty men of the the second battalion, 15th Parachute Regiment poured from their five-tons. They ran to the town hall, their boots echoing throughout the square as the citizens of Munich looked on in awe.

"PRISONERS!" yelled Krieger, "PRISONERS, NOT CORPSES!"

Oberleutnant Kuefer stood on the turret of a Panzer XI, a megaphone to his lips. Assembled in the square around him was a sizeable portion of the population of Munich. Men, women and children stared expectantly.

"People of Munich!" said Kuefer, his amplified voice echoing from the buildings, "Do not be alarmed. Pergast wishes no harm upon you. Far from it, Pergast welcomes you as new citizens of the Empire!" Kuefer waited for this to sink in before speaking again, "Any who object to Pergastan rule may freely leave, and return to the stagnant Bundesrepublik" He flicked the volume up a notch, "A NEW POWER IS RISING! JOIN US, AND REAP THE BENEFITS OF THE EMPIRE! OPPOSE US, AND BE TRAMPLED INTO THE MUD!"
