Turn Over of Latvia and Estonia

Soviet Bloc
01-12-2004, 05:54
Today, the Soviet Bloc Parliament, with the Premier's support, announced that the ARSB districts of Latvia and Estonia (District XVII and XVIII, respectively) will be turned over to Russian Forces. Russian Forces made no demand or military movement on the territories, and the primary reason to the hand over was the fact that the two districts were, by far, the hardest to maintain and secure, being so far from the rest of the nation.

However, not all Soviet Bloc presence will be removed from the territories, two Naval/Air stations will remain, one in the Estonian city of Kuressaare on the island of Saaremaa and the other near the Latvian city of Jurmala. The two stations will house one expeditionary fleet and one force projection fleet. Several SBAF wings and squadrons will call the two bases home as will nearly 20,000 Marines.

Another agreement between the two nations was that the Armed Republic of Soviet Bloc can use the ports in either country for commercial or military purposes (if needed) and that ARSB military units/civilians can traverse the nation's transportation network. Unlimited travel would be allowed between the territories and the Soviet Bloc main territory.

-The two territories rest in HP's/Independent Hitmen's Earth thread (Where RF has most of his territories anyways)-

The Russian Government is happy to have full control of Post Soviet Russia in europe. We are greatful to our comrades in the Soviet Bloc. We both share same ideologies and both will spread the greatness of communism. We will do what we can to ensure the security of these bases that remain in Latvia and Estonia. The people of RF knows that there will be a great future between the two nations and wishes to keep economic and political ties together.

Meanwhile...

Soviets troops enter the nations in thousands. From the shores of the baltic sea, you can hear Soviet aircraft and vehicles making their way into towns and cities. The people of course did not resist but they all stood outside of their homes, watching RF tanks and troops march. Most did not care because there wont be much change at all. Pro communists though wish to be co-operate with the government of RF fully and are interested to help secure peace in the region.
