''We re interrupting this programm of Top Blender to report news that an armed robbery into an Ammu-Nation gun store located in Quebec city has just turned into an hostage crisis. We join Hubert Flammand in the LFNR helicopter which is now on the scene.
- At 19h25 local time 4 criminals entered the Ammu-Nation store on Charest Avenue and proceeded to raid the store for weapons. In the firefight which was to be expected, 2 customers were reportedly shot and also a store clerc. They tried to stop the criminals but to their dismay the perpetrators were already heavily armed and armored.
9 minutes later the police showed up only to be welcomed by a rocket propelled grenade coming from the roof of the store. The police cruiser exploded into a giant fireball and is still burning. Both policemen are thourght to be dead or heavily wounded and no sign of them is visible from where we are.
There's still no sign of other policemen in the vicinity however, police lights can be seen bearing down Charest Avenue which is pretty crowded at this time of the evening due to traffic jams.
The identies of the criminals are unknown but it's not the first time that an Ammu-Nation store is held-up by criminals though due to the nature of the store this rarely concludes in favor of the robbers...
-What the ...
- Carl what's that??
- Sorry Jean I think we'll have to move out of the crime scene for a while a police helicopter just told us to move away. We'll return to you when we find a safer vantage point.
- Thank you Hubert we'll be watching your news and please be safe.
Well my dear viewers we will now return to Top Blender your favourite ''haute cuisine'' weekly programm keep tuned for further updates of the crisis on Charest Avenue
OOC: This is semi-open in that there are only 4 roles available that of the Quebec Metropolitan Police(played by me), the robbers, TV journalists and maybe hostages from whitin the Ammu-Nation store or even their family watching on TV.
The Ammu-Nation is the biggest gun store in Lemieuxstad(sorry for the GTA rip-off) you can find everything in there from swiss knives to .50cal heavy machine guns to mortars. In Lemieuxstad no weapons are restricted per se you just need the right permit to buy them and every weapon is registered when its sold to you. Also Ammu-Nation only keep RL weapons, meaning that the Mk.2000 Flashomaster death x ray combination gun doesnt exist and thus cant be bought and is not in the hands of the robbers. However, as long as it exists in real life be it a prototype or a WWII vintage gun its more than likely that you can find it in your local Ammu-Nation store.
As for the place itself well its a big building maybe slightly smaller than a Wal-Mart store and is located on the Charest Avenue, equivalent to the ''Boulevard Charest'' in RL Québec City for those familiar withmy hometown ;) For those not familiar its your typical american avenue 2 ways in each direction with no separations and traffic lights at each 1/4 mile.
So have fun I will post the first reaction of the police.

Trooper Roskimann was slowly sipping on his coffee cup while watching traffic. This was rush hour, thousands of different cars were passing him by.However, Roskimann was in his warm and comfy cruiser on the side of a gas station watching commuters return to home.A slow snowfall was beginning to cover everything in a thin white coat.
At this time of the year it was commonplace to have just a bit of snow falling and melting on the ground. However pretty that was it made the roads dangerous. Most peoples didnt had the chance yet to put on their winter tyres and angry workers were eager to get home while public transport buses competed with them for places at the next traffic light. The average Quebec driver was a specimen in itself.Very agressive and skillful to park in paralel it seemed to Roskimann that they lost all their abilities when they tried to brake or just make sense of all the cars around them.Forget politeness this was the rush of lemmings and whoever was in your way must be squished aside of your line.
Roskimann liked that time of the day being able to teach a lesson in driving manners to a man which made triple his salary was always soothing to the soul. And so confident in his own driving skill and knowledge Roskimann continued to drink his simmering cup of pure black caffeine. That's when Danberg entered the car freezing his little heaven and bringing in the awful sound of the traffic in front of Roskimann.
- Got you the new double cranberry jelly one, Danberg said while handing Roskimann his puffy donut.
- Thanks, gruffed Roskimann.
- So any punkheads there?
- Not yet though I think this one in the 5-series seems ripe for a ticket.
- How much til we reach our quotas this week.
- Hmmm... 3 more.
- ''334 come in!!''
- Fuck!!!, Danberg had just leaked a bit of coffee on his pants.
- Ease up mate, you're going to wet your pants more.
- 334 listening? said Danberg.
- ''Advise on possible robbery at the Ammu-Nation store at Charest and Dupont.''
- 334 roger that , over.
- Copy that 10/4.
- Nah can't a man have his little cup of coffee while giving tickets to yuppies??
- We should, we should.
Sirens howling the big cruiser entered the avenue and took the Metro-Bus line.People were giving way and the lights on the traffic posts flashed to let the police car get by.5 minutes later they arrived at the scene.
- Get in front slowly whitout the flash, advised Danberg.
- Dispatch?, 334 here checking in.
- Roger.
They passed in front of the Ammu-Nation store it was botheringly quiet in there no cars in front and it seemed to be closed.
- Isn't this open 24/7??
- Supposed to...
- Dispatch 334 here, we re going to check in the back alley keep back-up on stand by.
- Roger, 339 is 8 minutes away from you.
They waited and then put the sirens again and sped through Dupont veered in the delivery alley of the store.A big grey truck was backed up against the loading bay.The truck was derelict patches of rust everywhere and no front plates.
- Karl is this thing suspicious?? asked Roskimann
- No front plate and Ammu-Nation make enough money to have their own armoed trucks make deliveries.
- Dispatch 334 here, we re going to check inside the loading bay.
- Roger careful there ok?
- Roger.
- Ok turn on the floodlight I'm going in.
OOC: Rest is up to you.Its actually taking place before the newsbreak.Enjoy

I really want to finish this story.
Officer Polaski was waiting at a red light on the corner of Cheer Avenue and Lin Parkway. Polaski never really liked being a police officer after an incident he had 2 years ago when he accidently shot a kid at an apartment building, mistaking the boy for the ganster who had just robbed one of the apartments 10 minutes before. The kid was holding a fake purple gun, but it was to late, Polaski shot his 9mm. The kid died hours later after the shooting.
"374, come in!" the 911 operator said over the radio.
"This is 374!" Polaski replied startled by the call.
"Report to a shooting at the vicinity of Ammu-nation at the corner of Charest and Dupont, suspects supposedly armed with military weapons!" the operartor said.
"Roger, 374 on route!" Polaski replied while turing on his sirens. He speedly dodged cars and ran red lights trying to get to the crime scene. 6 minutes later he had arrived. The area was now full of police presence. Polaski saw Trooper Roskimann by his cruiser and he ran towards him.
"Well what do we have Roskimann?" Polaski asked

a short, platinum bobbed young woman gets in the passanger's side of a police cruiser parked opposite a nearby fast food place. She removes her own burger from a brown branded paper bag and pours her fries into the empty lid of the burger container before tossing the bag to a driver who was rediculously tall and whose build would be best discribed as "brick shithouse" he grunted his thanks and she struggled to say "don't mention it" in the man's native tounge, he replied back in broken Skittletopian "what did you just say about my mother?"
"Look, let's just talk in english, it'll be easier for both of us" she responded and he grunted again.
"Responding to everything with bloody pig noises doesn't exactly give you an heir of intellectualism, you know"
(back to s/topian)"Oh... shutup you... howyousay... poisonous... girldog?"
"bitch"
"whatever." he sighed "Why am I babysitting napolina bonaparte here instead of doing some policing I don't know."
"for your information, you patriachal bastard, i'm here to teach your inneffectual, pathetic police force the way we deal with crime in Skittletopia" she motioned towards a single barreled shotgun, sawn very far down and with the ironic engraving " geneva". it was loaded with a single custom round consisting of five exploding flechettes, and there were hooks on both sides carrying three more of these, and two SABOT. on top of this she had an implausably large chrome semiautomatic pistol holstered to her leg. He carried a (whatever your police carry o_O).
They argued Very loudly, each hardly pausing for breath hoping to shout each other down, they both stopped when the radio crackled and reported the robbery and ordered them to join the line of cruisers headed towards the area...

-Well what do we have Roskimann? Polaski asked.
-Don't know yet dispatch called in saying there was a robbery here.I passed in front of the store and there's no sign of anything going on inside.Though when we ended up here there was this truck...
Roskiman and Polaski walked to the truck to inspect it.It was an old '87 Econoline which seemed to have survived the Deathtrack 5000.
- Now Ammu-Nation is not what you'd call your run of the mill arms shop. They normally deliver in big armored cars and in the last year, like you know, there have been several attempts to rob Ammu-Nation.
- Sure! replied Polanski.
- Then this call plus this truck plus the fact that to me the store seemed very quiet for this time of the year. All that adds up in my little cranberry filled head to something wrong.
- Indeedy!!.
- And what do you propose?, asked Polaski.
- Well, it's not my first time around here so I know the place from the top of my head. There's only one exit from here and that's where that truck is parked. So you stay here and I'll go around the front to flush out the rats your way, if they show up just shoot the fuck out ....
Polaski jumped on Roskimann just in time to dodge a flying bumper from the cruiser. To the dismay of both veteran policemen the cruiser which Danberg was waiting in had just been rammed through the opposite wall and was now burning.
- DANBERG!!!!! yelled Roskimann as he was running for the car.
The only thing Polaski had time to say was a warning to get under cover and then the police car exploded throwing Roskimann against the suspicious truck windshield.

OOC: Pls go ahead.Just keep in mind that they are only 4.However, they do have access to everything short of an artillery tube i.e. anything in RL that can be deployed by a single infantryman.
Also note that military service in Lemieuxstad is compulsory so they more than likely have basic military training and tactics.

Neal Shreeves gripped his AK47 closer to his chest. As the sweat ran down his forehead, he took a quick peak outside from behind the store counter at the bright sirens and the many police officers. He gulped and asked a fellow robber, the head of the whole robbery, "What are we gonna do sir?"
The head of the robbery, Darryl Savory, turned to face the young, frightened robber. Although he appeared calm, inside he, too, was worried.
"We stay here and keep threatening to kill the hostages, that's what!"
The young robber gulped again. "Yeah, but I mean, how long can we stay here? They'll have some police squad come in eventually. We're kind of in a tight situation, don't you think?"
Savory sighed. He didn't know if the whole robbery would work: the police would come for the hostages sooner or later. "As long as we have the hostages, we should be fine."
Shreeves asked in a nervous tone, "Are you sure?"
"Yeah, Neal, now shut up and keep guard."
The truth was, Savory wasn't really sure if they would be fine, either.
OOC: Ok, want to have a hostage negotiator(sp?) make contact through the phone in the store? Then the robbers could make demands.

Trooper Tremblay was aiming his Walther P99 at the window of the Ammu-Nation store.A slow snowfall was covering everything in white. He was cold and was fumbling to find a comfortable position behind the police cruiser. From his vantage point he could only see the stuff hanged in the store's window and a bit inside but nothing seemed out of place from where he was, maybe except the fact that there was no customers visible.Behind the Ammu-Nation store a thick smoke column was rising lazily through the sky. This was the first police officer that arrived at the robbery slowly burning away in the atmosphere. The thought of this sent a shiver down his spine.A police chopper was hovering a couple of hundred feet above the store casting its bright searchlight on the ordinary building.
The Charest Avenue was quiet and devoid of any passers by.From behind the cruiser nothing was telling to the crisis inside. It had been 10 minutes since he arrived at the scene and his uncomfortable position as well as the adrenaline pumping into his vein had made him weary already. His pistol seemed like it weighted a ton and his knees were aching.
His partner Corporal Lubin was gone and he was alone behind the cruiser a mere 3 meters from the perpretators. At any moment bullets could come flying his way or worse the stuff that blew off the dead policement at the back of the building. He was very unnerved at the fact that the robbers inside had access to bullets that could pierce his armored vest or even the very car he was hiding behind. What was SWAT waiting for.If the robbers tried to make an exit he couldn't do anything but watch them.Although his surviving instinct told him to just hide behind the police car hoping that the robbers wouldn't shoot his way.Still nothing happened.
------------------------
A few hundred meters back from where Tremblay was Officer Jackal arrived at the Police HQ in a deserted Tim Motton donut shop.Officer Jackal was the negotiator for this district of the city.He was the first called in when this kind of crisis emerged.Except maybe that this wasn't his usual work. The hostage takers had access to military grade weapons and an awful lot of ammo.So whatever he did there was no way SWAT would enter there without blowing the whole building up in the sky with the hostage still inside. This was desperate and he was very aware of it.
- So what do we know about them, he asked.
- Well SWAT hasn't come in yet.All we know is that they blowed 334 out of the place with some kind of rocket they got from inside the shop.If you look here this is the city plan for this building, said Captain Fillion.
- Like you can see here the walls are very thick and made of concrete.Apart from that there's one windowed entrance at the front just there and an exit at the back here. However, that exit is mostly blocked and there's a police car flaming in the little street that leads to it blocking any route which will end up at the door. It's too risky sending in the firemen as they might get shot and we have not heard of the 3 officers which tried this way at the beginning of the situation. Most likely they're burning in the car.
Moreover, the ventilation system is on the outside on the roof and its too small to permit entry from there.SWAT is coming in but for now let's assume they're stuck in traffic which like you saw is pretty heavy at this hour.
- Shit why do we have those kind of stores here?, said Jackal.
- Well, the answer to that question has nothing to do with the situation at hand and until SWAT arrives the best info we have is that plan.Do you want to try and contact them?
- I'm here for that no?
- Well then call them here's the number, Fillion handed a piece of paper to Jackal.
OOC: Good post Cheeser. But don't stop there the negociator is calling in just dialogue with him freely.Obviously his goal is to liberate the hostages first and then you coming out with no arms at all.Assume whatever number of people you have in the store but don't forget that there are only 4 criminals in there, so a lot of people might be difficult to control.
Also whatever the motive it's not politic those are not terrorists they're most likely there for the weapons themselves. This fits in a big scheme of mine you'll get updates when the crisis is finished.
This is getting very interesting.

Savory was practicing aiming with his M4 when he suddenly heard the phone ring, which made Shreeves jump."Who the hell is that?". "Hostage negotiaters probably.", Savory said as he made his way to the phone. As it was positioned in front of the store window, he quickly grabbed it and moved behind cover, in case of snipers. He picked up the phone: "Who is this?"

- Who is this? asked somone on the line.
- Lieutenant Francis Jackal from the Quebec metropolitan police. And may I know who you are?
- None of your business.
- He's one of the hostage takers, whispered Jackal to the crowd gathered in the HQ.
- OK... are you one of the hostages?, Jackal asked.
- What do you think??, the guy replied.
- Well I think you're not.
- What tells you that.
- First off, you seem confident so I think nobody who has a gun on his temple would be that confident when speaking. Moreover, there's no nervous tone in your voice so obviously you seem to be in control of the situation.
- Hmm... you could say that.
- Could I also say that you seem frightened but still its a good fear. It's just adrenaline going through your veins. It's not paralysing you since you can have a rational discussion with me right now. That means that you either are an hostage taker or a really dumb hostage that trust his kidnappers. So could you tell me from what I've just said what of the two are you?Hostage taker or simply a useless hostage?
- I'm certainly not useless to you?Am I?
- Well it depends my business is with liberating the hostages and trying to get the guys with guns out of there alive. So you could say that if you're an hostage there's no way you're of any use to me.You're more of a burden for my job than anything else.Right?... Also, if you're really an hostage I'm just wasting my time cuz you're not holding the gun. However, there are a couple of questions I have to ask? It's standard procedure you know. And being an hostage or not won't prevent you from answering them.
So first question, are there anybody who is hurt inside that shop?
- Yeah... 2 stupid heroes and a shop clerk who didn't want to give the keys to the ammo.
- OK are they dead??
- Don't know.
- OK so I'll just assume that they are still alive. So apart from those three how many people can you see inside, I mean people who are not holding guns?
- Don't know.
- You don't know cuz you can't see them or you don't know because you're not allowed to say.
- Don't know.
- Well, could I know your name?
- Told you it's none of your business.
- Damn we're in for the long haul it seems, Jackal was again whispering to the audience in the HQ.With that the phone at the other end hung up.

"Roskiman, shit hang in there!" Polaski yelled as he limped over to Roskiman.
Roskiman had a cut on his forehead that was about 4 inches wide, blood still drizziling down. Polaski tore off a piece of his shirt and pressed it firmly to Officer Roskiman's forehead.
"This is 374, we have 2 officers down at the Ammu-nation at Charest Avenue!" Polaski yelled over his radio.
"Roger 374, EMT's are on there way. All available units please respond to the Ammu-nation at Charest Avenue, 2 officers down." The operator responded.
Polaski knew that the EMT's wouldn't be able to come to close to crime scene. So Polaski lifted Roskiman's up on his shoulder with what power he had left and took him to the cruiser. Polaski started up the car's engine and threw the car into reverse. The tires on the cruiser screech loudly threw the street as Polaski made a 180 to turn the car forward. He speedly drove to the HQ that they had setup at the dounut shop.

Savory sighed. "Nothing. Everyone, keep your guard up: I have a feeling this gonna get ugly real soon.", he said as he grabbed a grenade from a shelf.

"Attention Lemieuxstad police! As you know, we have many hostages in this store. But, I am a reasonable man, and so I will offer a reasonable trade.
I will release all of the hostages, but first, you must accept my demands:
One: You will let us take all of the money from the store plus all of the weapons we want.
Two:You will provide a van, an airplane with a pilot, and four tickets to Mexico. We will take 5 hostages with us, and will release them when we are safely aboard the plane.
Failure to comply with these demands will result in the death of 2 hostages every 30 minutes."
He put down the megaphone, grabbed his M4 and went to check on the hostages.
(OOC: I'll say there's 20 hostages in the store, alright?)

Aisha (the female s/topian officer) was now part of the rabble of policecars sitting outside the front entrance, listening to the demands of the robbers. shaking her head she turned to Cain (the big fella) and shook her head
"baah. they're asking way too much, if they want this resolved without one of your guys shooting them in the face, they probably plan to haggle downwards a little." He nodded in response and replied "How armed robbers managed to take over a Gun shop full of Guns and Gun stuff and Gun nuts, I don't know."
"inside job?"
"naah. some of them got shot. they wouldn't shoot their own guys"
she checked the shiny pistol and messed up shotgun out. "bah. do you have anything with any kind of range?" He went to the car, then looked at her, smiled with his finger to his lips and pulled out a .50 caliber sniper rifle with an almost comically huge scope rigged to the top and carefully handed the anti-tank weapon to her.
Aisha: "you know, I think I hate you less now," she said, while cocking the gun, and kneeling behind the car, using the bonnet as a tripod, and taking careful aim at the window the hostage taker just appeared out of.
