OOC- Note, I'm just starting this off to see where it goes. I will try to set the scene (it's at another Halo), and all the factions are involved. Note, this rp does not in any way challenge the right of Bungie or Microsoft to the Halo license, characters, etc. It is merely fanfic. :)

Ship Master Oro'mee swore as another explosion rocked his command cruiser, the Vengeful Justice, causing his Unggoy subordinates to shriek with terror and scatter through the corridor. The lights aboard the ship flickered, casting shadows over the gold plating of his armor. "Stand fast!" he roared, and the small alien soldiers, known as Grunts in the human tongue, fell into line around him.

"They have taken the flight deck. We will have to fight our way through them to escape." his Operations Officer, Para'mee, commented off to the side, one his his hands resting against a receiver built into the black casing of his helmet."

The two Sangheili (known more commonly as Elites), shared a look, obviously savoring the prospect of battle with the traitorous Brutes. Fighting had broken out aboard the Vengeful Justice the moment word had come from the Covenant city of High Charity that the Elites were being cast down by the Brutes. Oro'mee himself had fought unsuccessfully to retain control of his bridge, burning down several of the traitors with plasma fire. They now fled for the dropships, hoping to find salvation on the ringworld, known as Halo, beneath them. The Sangheili already had established bases on the holy relic below, and Oro'mee intended to make them the focal point for his resistance.

"Vara'mee will enter the bay from the opposite end as soon as I breach this door." Para'mee commented, placing a plasma explosive on the broad blast door that led into the shuttle bay. "We will kill many Jiralhanae today."

Oro'mee found the prospect of slaying additional Brutes to be an appealing one, and raised his plasma rifle, nodding for the Operations Officer to proceed. The Elite finished setting the explosive, then backpedaled and slapped a control built into the forearm of his battle armor. The blast that followed, though directed almost solely against the door, nevertheless caused Oro'mee's full-body shielding to spark as pieces of wreckage bounced off it. He roared and did not need to issue the command...the Unggoy charged forward, firing their weapons. The fire was returned just as quickly, and the shuttle bay filled with screams, plasma bursts, and pink streaks of Needler fire. One Grunt to his right took half a clip of the needles in his methane breather, and the Elite felt the projectiles explode even through his shield.

Oro'mee's attack quickly bogged down because the Jiralhanae Brutes were taking cover behind a row of the Covenant's shield-bearing infantry, the Kig-yar. The flickering rainbow patina of shields deflected much of the incoming fire, allowing the Brutes to concentrate on destroying the attackers.

"Charge! Charge!" Oro'mee shouted at the Unggoy, and the alien troopers immediately understood what he meant. They took cover long enough to overcharge their plasma pistols, then swung around the corner and opened fire in one might fusillade. The powerful attack overloaded the shields of the Jackals, and both Oro'mee and Para'mee reacted instantly by chucking plasma grenades into the milling crowd. The deck thundered with secondary explosions as exposed ammunition went up in a blaze of glory, taking many of the rebels with it.

Although the fighting around the Bay began to wane then, one Jiralhanae had survived the cataclysm, and upon recognizing the gold armor of Oro'mee, he dropped his plasma rifle and charged, intending to crush the life from the Elite commander with his bare hands.

Oro'mee held his ground in the face of the oncoming charge, and then, at the last second, sidestepped and flicked his wrist, activating a plasma sword. The Brute saw the danger but, at this point, could not check his charge. Para'mee actually flinched as the energy blade cut through the air and ended the fight with one terrible stroke.

Silence descended on the deck.

Oro'mee saw his comrade Vara'mee lying on the deck, and walked over. Unfortunately, the Sangheili veteran had absorbed a full-power plasma blast while his shields were still down. "He has begun the Great Journey." Oro'mee acknowledged after a moment, and glanced at Para'mee. "Prepare the transports. We shall take to the surface, and there we shall have revenge."

"Yes, Ship Master."

"Collapsing quantum waveform. Exiting hyperspace."

The captain nodded to the navigator as the holographic display came up, displaying the nearby space. Two things immediately caught his eye - the artificial, ring-shaped structure that sensors had picked up just a few tens of million kilometers away, and the ships near them. He spoke up, motioning toward the display. "Sensors, get me more information about that structure and the ships near it."

"Scanning," came the response as active sensors went online and compared their readings with the database. "Ships don't match anything in the database, but you know how limited that is," the female at the sensor console replied. "Structure appears oriented to support carbon-based life - looks like it's pretty old, and I'm getting some interesting energy readings from it. It's not one of the relics from the First Time... it would have to have higher walls and have a higher nitrogen content. Spectrometer's saying it's a third our standard pressure, a bit short of twenty percent oxy content. It'd be possible for open flame down there. It is an open structure, though. Not enclosed. It's too far out from here, though, we can't get any readings on whether there's anything down on the surface."

The captain nodded. "I see. Well, looks like this might be a system of note. More here than just a star, after all. Helm, notify the home fleet of our findings at this point, give this system a designation of Triantaena and approach the structure so that we can see if there's anything else on it. Tactical, drop a drone and get our shields up in the event that the ring does anything unexpected. No need for weapons though - we don't know what the ships over there are doing and we don't need to raise any alarms. Maintain radio silence aside from the one-way Holtzman transmission to the fleet."

Various individuals acknowledged the commands, and a few seconds later, the four-hundred-meter dagger-shaped ship turned toward the ring and began accelerating toward it, its silvery grey hull glittering in the distant sun's light.

UNSC Cruiser Memphis
Atlanta Class Cruiser
Hanover System Fleet

CO: Commander Jonathan Richmond
AI: Alexandria

08.29.2552

Captain’s Log (LEVEL 2 ENCRYPTION)
29th August 2552. We lost. The Hanover system is now in Covenant hands and the fate of the 800,000 colonists and Marines that could not be evacuated is now unknown. It does not need to be said what the usual Covenant precedent is, however.

Our battle group, comprising ourselves, the Destroyers Campbeltown and Defiant, and the frigates Morgan and Dauntless, was the principle defensive asset for the Hanover system, the large civilian manufacturing base home to two and a half million people spread across an arctic-like planet, several mining platforms near the three Gas Giants and the bases in the asteroid belt in the system. Along with limited orbital defences we were to escort the evacuation convoys when the Covenant hit us far sooner than those ONI S.O.Bs told us they would.

The Covenant produced no less than sixteen medium weight vessels, comprised of mostly Frigates and the occasional light Cruiser. A small force but nonetheless significantly superior in terms of firepower to what we had available. Campbeltown jumped with the evacuation ships that we could help escape, whilst the remaining vessels and the six MAC guns in orbit engaged the enemy.

The engagement was short and bloody. Nine Covenant vessels fell to our guns at the price of the Defiant and the Morgan along with all the orbital platforms. Ourselves and the Dauntless were the only remaining ships and critical damage had been sustained by both of our vessels. With all chance of victory fading I ordered our forces out. Initiating the Cole protocol, we jumped with the Dauntless once we had recovered as many survivors as possible. However, the random trajectories we undertook have seen the Dauntless move away from the Memphis and we lost contact six hours ago.

With the fall of Hanover, Humanity now clings on to just a handful of frightened worlds compared to the dozens we controlled before. We’re running out of time, space, men and ships, and I for one am beginning to feel like there is just no way we can turn this around. My men are the most resourceful, the smartest, the most competent crew I have ever served with, but we simply cannot compete on the raw numbers and technology level.

This war is entering its endgame. We have received instruction to head directly to Reach to take up defensive positions there. Reach is our last hope, it falls and we will be lost along with it.

You know, I just wish I knew why they hated us so much. Me and the rest of humanity.
Commander Richmond Out.

End Log

Today

The Memphis exited slipspace in the usual graceless manner, its crew trying to make sure that any Covenant waiting for them was not going to get an easy shot off. 45 Million tons and five kilometres of titanium armour and with enough weaponry to annihilate a continent, the ship was a stunning work of spaceship engineering and was one of the most powerful warships left in the beleaguered UNSC.

Commander Richmond watched the monitors in silence, walking from crewman to crewman just to make sure nothing was being missed. He trusted his crew implicitly, but even that did little to calm his nerves. The jump had lasted two months, most spent in Cryostasis for Richmond, and the news when he had come around was not good at all.

Reach had fallen. Earth was under-siege. It made grim reading. His new orders were to prepare to return to Earth to help sure up the defences; the Memphis was now one of only three Cruisers left in human hands. There had, however, been some news that provided some respite. The Covenant’s civil war had finally given something for the hunted Humanity to find hope in.

The current situation, however, soon saw such thoughts disappear rapidly.

“I’m picking up two distinct artificial signatures,’ echoed the soft voice of Alexandria, the ships AI. She appeared in the holoprojector as the details of the two objects spread themselves on the screen behind her. “One’s a Covenant flagship, currently stationary, the other is a big unknown.”

“Show me,” muttered Richmond, his eyes overlooking the screen. The Covenant ship he recognised, the other…object he didn’t. A ring world, a huge object of spectacular size that dwarfed both ships by several factors. Richmond silently gasped in awe, his mind for a brief moment forgetting the Covenant foe that sat nearby. “Where is it?”

“Behind the Gas Giant to starboard. I’m keeping us here to keep the Covenant unawares.”

“Any registered activity?” Richmond immediately began to ran tactical scenarios in his mind again. “Did they see us come in?”

“Likely, but I can’t detect any movement on there part. Jamming is down; they’re making no attempt to trace my scans either. I’m detecting interior power fluctuations, but I can’t figure out why.”

“Weapon’s fire?”

“A possibility. We’re too out of the way for a confirmation though.” Richmond nodded.

“Get me the Marine CO.”

“Aye sir.” Alex flickered out. Richmond turned to look at the ring like object again.

“And Alex,” he slowly spoke, barely audible above the hum of the engines, “break some heads and find out what we know about these things too.”

“Will do Commander.” Alex sounded over the intercom. Richmond sighed, and got ready to embark on another engagement.

COVENANT BATTLE CRUISER VENGEFUL JUSTICE

The day was not going to be Ranu Oro'mee's best.

The Jiralhanae had sealed the shuttle bay with forcefields, preventing the dropships loaded with loyalists to the Ship Master from escaping. Oro'mee now stood, tapping a digit impatiently against his plasma rifle. He was flanked by a pair of Hunters, known as Lekgolo to his people, who had repulsed several attempts to retake the shuttle bay already. He was heartened by the loyalty of the Hunters, but his patience was wearing thin for his Operations Officer.

"Can you move no faster?" snapped the Ship Master.
"A thousand apologies, noble one." Para'mee responded with a click of his mandibles, his fingers flying over the holopanel. "But the Construct is having a difficult time overriding the weapons controls and doors."

Oro'mee was concerned about that. Unless the powerful plasma torpedo system was disabled, the escaping dropships could be reduced to free-floating atoms in mere moments. He was about to open his mouth and speak further when his eyes caught an environment jet pack similar to the ones used on the Cairo in Earth orbit for airless maneuvering.

"I have an idea." The Elite announced.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bridge:

Tarar, the new Brute Commander of the Vengeful Justice, was just beginning to savor his victory over the Elites when the sensor panel chimed. There were still intense firefights going on in several compartments on board the ship, but the Jiralhanae believed he had everything under control.

Now he was staring at the ghostly 3-D holoprojection floating in midair over the bridge of one of the new arrivals in the system.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Human Attack Cruiser, Class 7 (Atlanta)
Threat Level: Low (Mag. Acc. Projectile Cannon's Ability to inflict damage must be respected).
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

"The filthy humans have come to spread their corruption onto another of the sacred rings!" boomed Tarar, causing the Jackals to jump behind him. He pressed a control, and the ghostly wail of the Covenant battle-stations klaxon sounded down the battle-damaged halls of the cruiser.

Tarar smiled as the ship sent a standard greeting in human language to the UNSC warship, formulated to create the maximum amount of fear in the puny ones' crew. "The Gods have decreed your destruction, and we are the instrument of Their will. Prepare."

The Jiralhanae was about to order the attack when the entire Covenant cruiser lurched HARD to one side, a thundering boom rolling through the deck plates, throwing Tarar onto his back.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Outside the Justice:

Oro'mee revelled in the destruction he had caused with just one antimatter charge. The explosion had been enough to flip him into space, tear a gaping hole in silver-purple hull of the cruiser, and turn the perpetual night of space into day for a moment. Even as he jetted through the vaccuum back to the airlock, he could hear his fellow Sangheili rejoicing at the strike which had been insanely dangerous over the radio.

"Prophets be praised! Nothing can stop us now!" laughed Oro'mee on the command circuit. He was interrupted from saying more by a small chime in his helmet. A glance at his personal digital readout showed a diagram of the oncoming UNSC attack ship and the more distant quantum wavefront similar to the data being read up on the bridge.

"That could complicate matters considerably, however." the Elite growled, scampering over the hull.

OOC- I should note that, because of the loss of the original, the antimatter charge disabled the Plasma Torpedo launcher system. Particle beams are unaffected.

5000 km from the Vengeful Justice
A rather strange spacial distortion began to slowly shift anything in the area of it pushing it aside or vaporizing it. Slowly a lone ship began to form in a growing glow of sickly green light. As it finialy formed it slightly resemble a UNSC vessel but the rest of the design begged to differ. Unlike most UNSC vessels this one was painted pure black with the exception of the side lights over the airlocks. Slowly the 5km long ship began to power up once more a slight tinge of silver began to over lap the ship fallowed by the bridge lights firing up.
The bridge of the AEN Shadow Guardian
"Commander picking up multipule ships and one rather large construct," the sensor opperator said as she began to run the ships and construct through the ship's data base to try and find a match, "Shit....we've identified one ship. A Covenant battle cruiser. It resembles the ones the AEN Shadow and the PSN Fire Storm fought. Both ships were badly damaged." "Just our luck... we find the one race that can kick our asses.... What about the construct?"
"It resembles a ring ma'am. It's about 10,000km across and is made up of unknown alloys. The thing seems to be generating a breathable atmosphere that resembles the ones from Blue Dawn."
"Alright. Dethaw all of the marine and the AE compliment. I have a feeling this isn't gona be pritty."

OCC:Think of the AE as Spartans. But on this ship there are only 3 unlike others sometimes where there are like hundreds. Also the marine compliment is about 6000 of them. And at first glance it will look much like a UNSC vessile but with a closer look

Flood Ship Regicide

The Undergods were prepping. Their lesser brethren The Flood were aboard also. Tracculks sat in his new form it fit him well. Lekgolo the Covenant called it. He called it home.

Gravemind had ordered them to the new ring and they had followed his orders. There was no other way. The Undergods had formed in secret and had gone into battle in the outer worlds controlling Flood on the battlefield forming them into deadly shock troops. Dispensable shock troops.

Tracculks had been the first and he led them. The corrupted Jirlhanae guards parted as Srash entered. Srash had kept his human form. A Demon to the Covenant, Savior to the Humans. Srash knew there was one other and he desired it.

"The ring is near. A battle rages over it." Srash commented with boredom.

"Then we will forego teh bloodshed this time and make it to the ring." Tracculks got up his massive armored frame stretching as the Regicide landed on yet another Halo.

Slowly the AEN Shadow Guardian began to drift towards the Halo ring and the covenant ship. Outside her lights suddenly were killed by the internal AI and almsot all power signals dropped to zero with the exception of the sheilds that began to weaken slowly. Inside how ever it was a diffrent story. Cryo revival crews were working twice as hard as normal as they were thawing out marines in the primary cryo bays and dealing with things like cryo-burn and other revival problems. Though fortunatly most problems wern't major. After the marines were thawed, showered and fully dressed in combat gear the AE and other spec ops troops were being thawed.
Shadow Guardian's bridge
"Ma'am all units reporting in. The AE are being thawed as we speak."
"Good. Prep all plasma torpedo banks to dump there stores in the launcher system. I also want a firing solution for the Dark Star cannons!"
Cryo 2
Commander Knightly yawned and streched as his cryo-tube's lid slowly rose letting him step out. Like most AE he prefered to be frozen in his armor than without it. It often took techs hours to put it on him. Slowly he looked around to see the only other two active pods opening. Major Angel Valentine and Lt. Echo Maxwell were slowly awakening and the techs were busy watching the view screens on the pods that projected there vitals.

OCC:A Dark Star cannon is much like a plasma torpedo but is unguided but more powerful. Also the plasma torpedo system was salvaged from a covenant vessile that the PSN and AEN managed to disable and capture. Since then they began replicating the system. Also the system has slight flaws now and then so sometimes the plasma torpdeo launcher will end up melting

UNSC Crusier Wasp

The Wasp slowly worked it's way through the rubble and asteroids of the destroyed covenant ships. The scene had been much different, only minuets before the Wasp was leading the defence of deep space station Olympus with the help of three other frigates. All but the Wasp had been destroyed. Her capitan paced the bridge deck thinking, holding a archaic revolver in his hand.

"Sir, picking up a message from deep space" the comms officer announced.
" Deeper than where we are here?" The capitan asked as he slid his revolver into it's holster.
"yes sir, it's on UNSC frequency, but it's faint, it looks to be comming from the Hanover system"

"How far?" The capitan inqured.
"Not far"

"Set course, cover our tracks"

UNSC Cruiser Memphis

“Captain!” Alex’s voice cried over the intercom.

“Report,” was the immediate response on the bridge, Richmond jumping from his feet as the screen began to turn red. The Covenant ship had detected them, it seemed, by the sudden movement and the redistribution of power to its weapons that was illustrated on the holoscreen.

“She’s spotted us. She’s moving to intercept us, she’s sending out a hail, traditional greeting. Contact in six minutes.” Richmond cursed under his breath, his mind racing. His hand subconsciously moved to his before being pulled back as he reached for a icon.

“Okay people, listen up, the Covies have spotted us and preparing a welcome. I guess we should dress up accordingly. Fire Control, I need all three MACs online now, Marines, prepare for possible boarding action, everyone to battle stations!” The Klaxon came on. Richmond hated the noise, but blocked it out as he watched the Covenant ship heading closer. The ships were heading towards one another far quicker than he liked.

“Alex?”

“Here.” The reply was cool but nonetheless alert. He liked that.

“We have two Shiva’s left; arm them both, this bastard’s going down. Prep all Longswords’ and bring me up firing solutions for all onboard weapon systems. I’m leaving the shot to you.”

“Aye Sir, entering firing range in 300 seconds and counting.” Little red lines with timing markers and ballistic angles appeared connecting the two vessels.

“Noted.” He tapped another icon. “Jacob?”

“Aye Captain” Came the booming voice of the Norwegian Marine Corporal. “We’re getting the welcoming committee ready.” Incomprehensible orders were barked in the background.

“Glad to hear. How many Helljumper’s did we pick up?”

“We got what’s left of Sierra and Zulu, and a Pelican load of Bravo platoon too. I think we got about fifty fit enough for duty sir.” The sound of a shotgun clicking was audible to all.

“Get them into the drop pods, tell them their going down. If you can spare the men get a few Pelicans ready with the Warthogs, they’re gonna need ‘em as soon as they get down, and… Jacobs?”

“Yes Cap’n?” Metal on metal for the relief now.

“No light crap for the Jumpers’, make sure they get the works, 50 Cal, Spankers, the mother load, I sure as hell don’t want to see a pop-gun SMG when I get down there. Understood?”

“Aye Skip, but we’re pretty low on the good stuff; I’ll see what I can do.”

“Good work Corporal. Good luck.”

“Aye, Jacobs out.” Richmond nodded, and turned to the Nav officer.

“I need a solution that takes us directly pass the Cruiser once we’ve engaged and right over the ring. We gonna get our guys down if it’s the last thing we do.” An affirmative response came back with no signs of worry, Richmond felt proud. Of course, both men feared what was about to happen. The Memphis was by far the bigger vessel, but that meant nothing. Covenant cruisers had had their counterparts for breakfast on several occasions and Richmond knew that it was going to be far too close for comfort. “Alex?”

“Captain.”

“Status?”

“MAC cannons online, 85, 87 and 90 percent charged. Shredder rounds in barrels One and Two, Solid slug in Three. I should be able to cause a lot of hassle once we get close, but it’s gonna be tight quarters and the damage we sustained at Hanover is still causing problems. Both nukes are armed and all sixteen remaining Longswords are airborne. All crews have reported to station.”

“Alright Alex, make sure we get them, we won’t get a second chance if we miss.”

“Yes Sir.” Alex appeared in the projector, her usual light green form now a more solid fluorescent shade. She and the Commander exchanged knowing glances. Richmond looked down for a moment, looking at his feet, Alex closed her eyes as if concentrating. “180 seconds to engagement range.” Richmond nodded again.

Then Alex physically jumped. The icon over the covenant ship suddenly flashed. Richmond squinted his eyes, and then turned to look as the ship entered his vision in the bridge’s windows. He watched opened mouthed at the tiny purple speck on the Gas Giant’s horizon.

A massive explosion had sent the ship careering off its course. Blue and violet flame flared into the inky blackness, the ship nearly barrel rolling as it reeled away from the cloud of vapour, its shields flickering in spectacular yellow arcs across the lilac surface.

“Alex?”

“Surface charge, deliberate sir, judging by the damage reports I’m getting. The ships’ lost her torpedoes sir, but she’s already beginning to recover, she’s stabilised on her lateral pitch and she’s returning to cours….Hold on.” Alex disappeared for a second. Richmond furrowed his brow and look at the other crewman on the bridge. They however, were looking at the navigation display and only returned to attention when Richmond coughed his meaning.

“What in hell?” His eyes made contact with the other icons on the screen.

“Slipspace ruptures sir, judging by the masses I think they’re friendly!” The Nav officer’s face started into a smile. “At least…I think.” Richmond raised an eyebrow, then Alex reappeared from her brief sojourn.

“One definitely is, IFF shows a UNSC Hornet class light cruiser, the Wasp according to her tag. The other ship is….human? Not UNSC, at least, not a vessel that I recognise, but it sure as hell isn’t Covenant either.”

“Suggestions?” Richmond looked at the unidentified as a new battle plan entered his mind.

“Could be an ONI black project, would explain the design and the high tech I’m reading, but damn, she’s big, our size almost, 90% tonnage rating from the scans. She’s sitting on the opposite side of the ring. She’s got the Covenant confused too though. The vessel is making errant manoeuvres, randomly as far as I can guess.”

“Send a hail to both vessels. Get the Wasp to engage the cruiser and bring us round the other side of the ring. Keep as much distance as you can between us, and try and gives us a trajectory for the Jumpers.”

“Yes sir.”

OOC: A suggestion, now we have about five or six players it might be best to cap the numbers here before too many people start posting. Just a suggestion. Good work from everyone btw. :)

"Sir, we are picking up multiple ships!" The crewman announced.

"Freindly?" The capitan asked.

"some, things are pretty messed up over there. I'm picking up at least two other allied ships with one huge mother" He replied."looks to be a covenant ship"

The capitan stared at the scene. Several ships were moving about in random directions. A plasma bolt lanced out towards the WASP.

"Evasive manuvers....get me a fireing solution on that ship and hold fire until I give the order. I want all Longswords out there now. Get the Mobile Cavalry ready to go!" the capitan shouted.

The WASP shook as the plasma bolt smaked into her hull, sending residual damage troughout the ship. Sparks erupted from overhead as a bulhead fell from the celing and crashed to the deck.

"Oh that's it, helm, I want full power to the engines and set course directly for that ship, full ahead. Fire all missile pods, and hold those MAC's untill I give the go!" The capitan shouted.

"Sir getting a message from the Cruiser, she's asking us to engage the covenant ship" The crewman announced.

"Too late for plesantries.........Aphrodite, send a message to the crusier telling them that we would be happy to ablidge. Then I would like you to find a weak point on that ship and get a fireing solution for the MAC's" The capitan ordered.

"yes sir" The AI complied.

*LOGSWORD ALPHA 1*
The pilot looked outside the cockpit at the WASP. It was stroming trough plasma bolts as though it was a fearless warroir, not changing course, not even flinching. Several more bolts hit the ship and made the WASP shudder as armour peeled away. Suddenly missiles streaked away from the ship towards the covenatn ship. Suddenly, Aphrodite, the ships AI popped onto the screen.

"Leuteniant, engage enemy vessle at vector six-zero-six, follow manuver epsilon. Have two longswords escort the Mobile Cavalry to the ground and have them link up with other UNSC froces on the ground" She said pleasantly.

"Accnoledge Aphrodite.......Baker squadron, escort Mobile cavalry to ground, shoot anything that dosn't look freindly!"

"Yes sir" The intership comms crackled.

As the leuteniants Longsword turned sharply and dove underneathe the covenant ship, he could see the WASP continueing to barrell towards the enemy ship. Taking everyting sent at her head on.

Battle Bridge of the Shadow Guardian
"Alex where are my firing solutions!"
"Right here commander. Also there are two more ships in the area. One has launched fighters and is taking hits fomr the covenant and the other is firng MAC guns. Hold on a moment..... the larger vessil is hailing," the ships AI sputed out. Her holographic body kept shifting form shades of red to shade of dark blue. "Damnit..... Fire all foreward plasma torpedos on that covenant ship. I want that thing dead in the water by the time we launch fighters," The commander responded with as she began to look over the battle reports.
"Yes ma'am."

Outside
The entire bow of the Guardian lit up a blood red as 13 plasma torpedos began to form. Slowly they were aimed and set lose. Inside the storage banks for torpedos 10, 11, 12, and 13 began to rupture spraying plasma all over.
Back on the bridge
"Commander! Ruptures in plasma tanks 10 through 13. Casualty reports coming in.... oh god... 75 dead, 45 criticaly wounded, and 125 with minor plasma burns," Alex said her body finaly staying on one shade of blood red.
"Damn it. How many nukes do we have on board?" the commander asked Alex as she scrolled through the list of dead and wounded. "We have 15 on board of the orginal 100," came the reply after only a fraction of a second. "Launch there of them at the covenant ship. Also about that ship hailing us. Don't respond."

OOC: Wait, wait for me (please), I TAGed earlier (if not, just ignore this, or tell me to delete the post)
There are some weird things about my covenant, for an explanation, go to page three and see my post (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=375566).

But briefly: My “nation” was a group of ships sent out to find a location that was very important to the great journey (the ark), my fleet grew more and more independent as they operated farther and farther away. Then, a message from High charity comes for help, my ships go there, find it taken over by the flood, unsure what to do, they then receive a distress signal from survivors (the other thread), and a ship was sent there, since then, all ships have been monitoring various areas trying to locate others (this thread). Because of my isolation, weapons have been upgraded, the schism did not happen, I don’t know about the demon, or grave mind, or the destruction of the first halo, pretty much anything in both games. But, I have encountered the flood, and I did receive new weapons and new species.

Sorry for not being brief :(

IC: A (and yet another) slipspace rupture occurred half a kilometer from Vengeful Justice, producing a covenant cruiser; the Undying Anger was heading towards the Vengeful Justice.

On the bridge of Undying Anger:

Shipmaster ‘Rolamee was watching the viewing screens, he seen the infidel’s ships, and also an unknown vessel.

A forerunner vessel?

From the brief message traffic their other frigate had picked up, something happened with the covenant, traitors or something else. Tapping several icons, he started charging all sixteen plasma turrets; plasma torpedoes were made ready and waited a firing solution.

He pushed a button that amplified his voice throughout the ship, seeming to sound like a god, “All Huragoks(engineers) and Yanme’es(drones) prepare to seal damage, boarding parties, load up on boarding fiends, scramble the seraphs, and all other military personal prepare to repel boarders.”

Jiralhanae began grabbing their weapons and entering the fiends, other teams of grunts and Spec. Ops elites entered their appropriate boarding craft. Elsewhere, the blob like huragok and insect yanme’e scuttled and floated to assigned position. All over the ship, unggoy(grunt), kig-yar(jackal), and sangheili(elite) armed themselves, naturally, the lekgolos(hunters) were already prepared.

‘Rolamee was speaking to the AI, “Sacred artifact, send a message to the noble Prophet of Anger:
Holy one, we seem to have found yet more survivors and likely a forerunner vessel, more importantly, one of the sacred rings to has been found. The foul Sharquoi(humans) have been drawn once again to this holy place, and have begun a battle with our fellow covenant, I have prepared to join battle, and suggest help comes to aid my ship. Shipmaster ‘Rolamee.

Missiles streaked towards the covenant ship and exploded apon it's sheilds, making it ficker out in a brilliant flash. The Wasp was so close one could see someone peeking out of a porthole, and showed no signs of stopping.

"Hard to port! Fire MAC rounds, and have longswords strike!" The capitan yelled.

Two MAC rounds plowed their way through the covenant ship, sending peices of hull flying everywhere. The WASP turned hard to port, the bottom of her hull scraping along the enemy's hull. The consoles all over the bridge exploded in their operators face as the enemy returned fire.

"Sir, casulties are comming in, 32 dead, 16 injured. Fighters are comming into range. Substantial damage to the main engines" Aphrodite announced cooly

"Pull us away and prepare to come about" The capitan said."What's the enemy's situation?"

"The enemy ship has suffered moderate damage to the main core, and there are plasma fires everywhere" She replied.

COVENANT CRUISER VENGEFUL JUSTICE

Tarar's situation was deteriorating rapidly.

Abruptly, the space above the holy relic was FILLED with ships, and most of them appeared to be hostile to his. Of particular concern was the sudden assault of the Wasp, but the firefight was too confusing for even the Brute to decipher. The hull rocked beneath the impact of enemy weapons fire, and several images on his control display flashed a bright white, indicating serious damage.

The arrival of the second Covenant ship was altogether unexpected as well, and the Vengeful Justice barely managed to avoid colliding with the oncoming Undying Anger as Tarar fought to avoid the incoming....everything.

At least one MAC round struck port, slamming through deck after deck of the damaged cruiser with an explosive roar. Though primitive, the projectile cannons of the humans had an alarming tendency to cause explosive decompression on multiple decks at the same time, causing significant crew casualties.

Tarar's course took him right across the path of the UNSC Memphis in a region of space now filled with fire. The Jiralhanae did not hesitate to fire all available particle beams at the underbelly of the UNSC cruiser as he passed under it, sending waves of slashing purple energy up: whether the weapons actually HIT anything was open to supposition, since the Vengeful Justice streaked by too quickly to see the effects.

And then ANOTHER attack ravaged the hull of the Covenant cruiser, sending it spinning off course. The Kig-yar ran in panic from the burning control center, leaving Tarar and his Brutes alone among the flames, fighting to stabilize the ship. Rarely had a Covenant warship been humbled by the puny UNSC, but it was happening now.

"Weapons controls are off line!" growled one of the Jiralhanae subordinates.

"Curse of the Prophets!" swore Tarar, pounding his controls brutishly. He saw no other alternatives at this point but to set the cruiser down on the ring itself, which effectively meant conceding the space around Halo to the humans...and all the other heathen ships floating around.

Following his line of unspoken thought, his tactical officer snarled. "If we wish to land, we must do so now while we yet retain the power."

The Jiralhanae captain bared his teeth and turned back to the screen, watching the surface of Halo come ever closer. "Make it so. But land carefully, for we dare not damage the holy ring."

"It shall be done."

Shadow Guardian's bridge
"Ma'am. Another covenant ship has just exited slipspace. Also the orginal covenant ship in the system has taken heavy damage and is landing on the ring," Alex said over the bridge crews stations constant beeping. "Thank you. Prepare some OPDs for launch and fly us clsoer to the ring. I want troops on that ring," the commander said as she began to look over the current OPDT roster. "Yes ma'am. There are 250 personel capable of the drop. The rest should be brought down in Eagles and other landing craft."
"Ok also I want those ladys set up with decent equipment. Break out the XR-40s and authorize the use of plasma morters."
Drop Bay
The ODPT were enjoying the pre-drop moment to much. They were busy raiding the armory in the drop bay when the alert came in to enter there pods. By then almost all of them were starting to head to the pods with what ever they had. The odd unlucky one was stuck with a 13.7mm pistol while others had plasma morters and XR-40s. Of the AE on board only one was dropping.

OCC:The XR-40 is a multi-rifle that basicly can act as a sniper, a assault rifle and a plasma rifle. It also has a 40mm plasma morter on it.

COVENANT DROPSHIP FORCE

Oro'mee and his elites stood in the cramped, dark confines of one of several Covenant dropships that had managed to escape the Vengeful Justice. He strode between the lines of troops, his polished gold armor glinting.

"So full of hate were our eyes that none of us could see our war would yield countless dead, but never victory." intoned the Sangheili Commander, quoting the First Canto of the Writ of Union, perhaps ironically given the circumstances.

"Long ago we swore an oath, and oath to protect the Covenant." Oro'mee growled.

"Even to our dying breath." the Elites reponded by rote.

"By the blood of our fathers! By the blood of our sons! We promised to defend the Covenant against those who would destroy it..." Oro'mee cried, "Even if that threat came from within." he said, clearly referring to the Jiralhanae.

Oro'mee was well-known among the ranks of this sector of the Covenant fleet. Even for the Covenant, his troops were exceptionally fervent and loyal. They would, if necessary, lay down their lives for the Covenant at demand.

Which made this betrayal all the more painful.

"We walk the path of justice, and ultimately neither the Sharquoi nor the Jiralhanae can stop us in the end. But in the meantime, the call of battle beckons. We must first link up with our brothers on the holy relic before we can plan our revenge. For any warrior who transcends the physical in this campaign, I promise there will be eternal salvation." Oro'mee added.

The WASP limped away at a much slower speed than the one it had began at. Capitain O'Neil paced the deck once agian, stepping over fallen bulkheads and destroyed equipmnet. He was suprised with how much damage his srike had caused. The covenant crusier had run, but a new one dropped in not to soon later. His ship had taken alot of damage, but he was confident that she could take a lot more. He had to form a new plan, he didn't know the situation of the other UNSC ships.

"Report" He asked.
"We have heavy damge to the lower bulkheads, several hull breaches, but all of them are up forward. Casulty's are still being accumulated" The crewman replied.
"Comms, send this message to the other ships............To UNSC ships, the WASP has taken heavy damage but we can still fight, I suggest a linked fireing solution on that new covenant ship, I am sending you the solutions now. We have already sent troops on their way down, try to link up with them" The capitan said over the intership."NAV, set course for that new covenant ship...Aphrodite, send the coordinates of our troops that have gone Terra firma"

The WASP turned slowly and began to increase speed as the ship began to head towards the new threat. The WASP's Longswords took up flanking positions.

*ON THE HALO*
The scream of the pelicans engines could be heard as troopers began to jump out of their seats and went terra firma. Colonel Boyd joined his troopers and gathered his unit commanders.

"Okay folks, here's the plan, we are going to advance in two lines, to converge on this point" He said as he pointed to a spot on the map."Looks to be a good spot to set up shop, it's fortified and can esily be defended, but there is some covenant there that need help moving"

His unit commanders nodded in agreement. Off in the distace, Boyd could hear the sound of explosions as the escort Longswords dropped their ordinance on the hill.

Tracculks smiled in his Lekgolo form as more and more information was sent to him. At least one Covenant battle group had thought they were the Prophet of Anger.

Well better live up to the audience's expectations.

Holiest of Sons the Scourge have found enlightenment and I require you all by my side. Come to me and we shall rid this Holy Ring of the Human infestation. The message was sent out as the multitude of marines that had been caught before voyage were being corrupted.

Eighty infection forms waited at the temple coordinates. Hiding ready to explode and release their life. Twelve corrupted Yan'amee flitted to and fro waiting to unleash the destuctive bombs strapped to them.

The corrupted humans were given what weapons they could and sent to guard The Index which was still in The Library.

Tracculks, Lekgolo Undergod, Leader of the Sentient Flood, Corrupter of a Hundred Worlds and Second only to Gravemind waited.

OOC: A brief summary of my actions so far. With the torpedo hit and the arrival of the Wasp, Richmond ordered the Memphis to land its troops whilst the Wasp engaged the enemy. Because the Memphis is pretty slow she’s gonna take some time to fly around, drop the troops and then get back to combat. Although a lot seems to be happening here, really its just me catching up.

Bridge, UNSC Cruiser Memphis

The situation had unfolded to be, in the least surprising. Richmond wouldn’t have believed his luck, being joined by two human warships, even if one was a complete mystery. The system had become a hotbed of activity and he was struggling to see what was happening to whom. At least no-one was firing at THEM just yet.

‘Sir, the Wasp has answered our hail and has proceeded to engage the enemy.” Alex reported, with her form absent as she travelled through the ships systems to make sure everyone was ready. “They are engaging the Covenant now.”

“Good Alex, what about our other friends?”

“Not answering the hail, but they are engaging the Covenant nonetheless. Definitely human though.”

‘The enemy of my enemy’ thought Richmond as he tapped his foot. “Status for the drop?”

“Entering drop trajectory in 180 seconds. Jacob’s reporting all troops are ready. He’s asked for permission to join the Helljumpers on the initial run. Response?”

“Patch me through Alex.” The order was complied, and through the intercom Richmond heard the Corporal barking orders to several different squads before the call was answered. “Corporal?”

“Yes Cap’n?”

“You requested immediate insertion to the drop zone?”

“Aye sir.” The voice seemed distracted, but Richmond dismissed it.

“What for man, we need everyone up here.”

“Sir, payback, I lost a lot of good men back at Hanover and I want to take a few squid-heads in return payment. Besides, we’re gonna need all the manpower we can groundside.” Richmond shook his head.

“Sorry Jac…” He got cut off by a very loud com call. Alex appeared in the projector, looking slightly fazed, which for an AI meant hell was about to break lose.

“Sir, the Covenant ship is engaging us. Its trajectory will take it right past us.”

“Tactical?” Richmond looked out to see the Covenant warship, now slightly ablaze but peeling away from the similarly damaged Wasp and was now heading straight for the Memphis, which had turned sideways on as it headed to drop its troops and had left its flanks vulnerable.

“Sir, too angled for the MAC cannon as such range, and getting too close for the nukes. Archer Pods are online but the effects gonna be limited.” The report sounding from the tactical stations. Alex thought for a moment, watching the path of the ship.

“Sir” she said, “engagement is not necessary, she’s too damaged to engage…” Bright lilac beams shot out of the Covenant ship’s bow in a wild array of directions and intent. With firing control offline, it seemed, the enemy’s attack proved to be of limited value. Nonetheless, the Memphis didn’t come through unscathed.

The massive cruiser shook from side to side as several beams made contact. Richmond grabbed hold of the nearest console, as did much of the bridge crew, as Alex and the helm struggled to stabilise the ship. Massive tendrils of blue and green energy shot across the dull grey hull as the Memphis reeled away from the blast. The Covenant warship zoomed passed the Memphis’ keel, metres away from impact as it seemed to fly through a lazy arc towards the ring.

“Damage report!” Richmond yelled, letting go of the console as the shaking subsided.

“Armour plating took the worst. We’re down to ten centimetres in places. Lower decks Sierra and Tango have reported minor breeches in non-essential areas. We’ve had worse.” Richmond nodded, his eyes moving from display to display as he watched the other vessels in the area make their moves.

“Sir,” Alex called again. “I’m detecting dropship launches by both the Wasp and the Unidentified. The Wasp is sending us landing coordinates now.” A set of red icons appeared on the screen above the ringworld’s surface. “Their gonna get down before we do.”

“Can we run the drop near them?”

“It would only take a minor course adjustment.”

“How’s the Wasp doing?”

“Moderate damage, she gave as good as she got though, I’m establishing communications with the AI now.”

“Good, what about our big friendly?”

“Still unknown. She’s made no hostile moves but is still blocking communications.”

“Very well.” Richmond thought for a moment, his eyes tracing the movement of the Covenant cruiser, which had now departed the immediate vicinity in the direction of the ring. Then he realised. “Alex, what’s the Covenant’s course heading?”

“Directly for the ring sir, by the minor altitude adjustments I’d say she’s attempting to land. I’m also picking up multiple dropship signals from her as well.”

“Its going to get crowded down there.”

“Indeed.” Richmond selected Jacobs on the com again.

“Sir.” The Corporal sounded slightly annoyed, though with what was unknown.

“Change of plan, get yourself kitted up Corporal, you’re going in. I need every available man on that ring. You also have new drop coordinates. We’ve got our friends from the Wasp to help out.”

“Aye sir.” He sounded happier.

“How many dropships we have?”

“About fourteen, including a couple we got from the Morgan.”

“Load them all.”

“Sir, we aint gonna have many people left to repel boarders…”

“We’ll take the chance. The Covies are gonna have a lot of guys on the ring and we sure as hell gonna need as many guys as possible.”

“Understood, Jacobs out.” The com went dead. Richmond looked up to see Alex pointing to a new icon on the screen. A new slipspace rupture was appearing on the opposite side of the ring.

“Friendly?”

“Our luck’s ran out. Covenant, though an unknown design. The Wasp is moving to engage.”

“Understood. Once we make the pass we will come in on the guy’s flank. All weapons still active.”

“100% Online sir. The Wasp is requesting our assistance.”

“Tell them to wait for a minute, we’re coming. How far are we from the drop zone?”

“Fifteen seconds and counting, we’re close now.”

“Send the order girl.”

Drop Pod Bay, UNSC Cruiser Memphis

Corporal Jan Jacobs strapped himself into the pod, a shotgun and pistol by his side. Grenades hung from his belt and his armour shined in the ambient light. Two marines prepped his and all the other forty-eight pods as the timer slowly began to run out.

Jacobs was approaching fifty. He had seen most of the Covenant’s advance during his career and was perhaps one of the most decorated soldier’s alive. Medal’s adorned his dress uniform, and his bravery and courage was legendary. He was one of the few living hero’s left in the UNSC, and he knew that even that honour would soon most likely evade him. He watched the casing seal around him, the timer now into single digits. His heart beat faster, his hands gripped the handles, and he prayed.

Then the timer struck zero.

The first sensation of weightlessness hit with little announcement. Strapped into his seat Jacobs didn’t notice anyway. The Pod tumbled its way down, burning through the atmosphere with the same blindness as a meteor. Inside it felt like hell had opened up. Even with the heat proofing and the EVA suit, it still felt like sitting on charcoal.

Down the pods came, in pairs from the launch rails, a total of forty nine modules manned by the survivors of a battalion of more than six hundred. It was a typical number nowadays for the UNSC, but Jacobs intended this time for more than a minor fraction of them to return. He had promised himself to see Earth again soon, and he intended to keep it. For all the sacrifice and for all the toil the Marines were willing to give, the truth remained that even the toughest of them wished for this war to end and for a safe return home.

The parachute deployed, its momentary deceleration allowing the pod to survive the harsh forces of a very uncontrolled landing. Everyone would be praying nothing had gone wrong with the pods. After all, there was little hope of survival if something HAD gone wrong.

Then there was a mighty thud as the pod came to a very sudden halt. Not used to the pods, Jacobs felt himself and he staggered out the pod a bit sooner than was probably wise, with pods still coming down around him. He took a step back and waited for all his men to arrive.

When the last pod had landed, Jacob’s called his men together, flitting in from a whole square mile of landing zone, this took more time than Jacob’s had planned, but, nonetheless he soon had everybody assembled.

“Right then. Marines from the Wasp have already made landfall about six clicks to the north. We march and met up with them at their objective, a large artificial structure that seems to be suitable for establishing a defensive position. We’re gonna join ‘em. We have fourteen Pelicans with associated vehicles meeting us on the way. Until then though, we’re walking. Suit up Grunts, and get ready for anything. On the double!”

And with that the column of Helljumpers began moving towards their comrades from the Wasp.

Bridge, UNSC Cruiser Memphis

“All forces have descended sir, confirmation of successful drop has been established, we’re coming round now to engage the new Covenant ship.” Alex reported.

“Very good. Maintain radio silence to give the surface boys a bit of cover. Bring us on combat trajectory and open fire when you can call the shot.”

“Aye aye sir.” Alex responded, her eyes closing as another set of ballistic trails sprang up between the Memphis and its opponent. Soon the new arrival would have too battle harden UNSC cruisers on her, although whether of not that was the one-sided fight it sounded like was anyone’s guess. Richmond just hoped the Wasp could keep the new arrival occupied enough to allow the Memphis a shot.

UNSC WASP BRIDGE
"Distance to target?" Capitan O'Neil asked the ships AI
"16000 km and closing sir, shooting solutions are commig on now" Aphrodite announced as tracectory lines covered the tacticle screen."The Memphis has confirmed and is preparing to engage, the unknown is.....wiat.......hold on, incomming fire, changing course.....My god, It's heading strait towards the bridge.....working"

Her holographic body shimmered and dissaperaed into the ships systems. Meanwhile the ship headed strait for the plasma bolt. The capitan thought only for a second that this might be it. But asa suddenly as she appeared, Aphrodite came back.

"Hold on sir, this is going to be bumpy. Engaging emergency thrusters"
The WASP lurched to starboard so fast that the internal gravity had enormous problems catching up. The capitan was flung up aginst the wall. The plasma bolt stuck just shy of the bridge, burning a bright hole into the hull, going right through the armour. The ship shook violently, explosions ripped troughout the bridge, one man was engulfed in flames and was immedeatly put out by a comrade. after a few minuets of explosions, the capitan stood up and wiped the blood from his head wound and walked to the NAV console.

"Aphrodite, get us back on course, when you are ready, fire missle pods. Have Longswords engage the enemy immediatly!" He shouted.
She nodded and dissapeared. The ship pulled back on course and the Archer missile pods fired, leaving streaks between the covenant ship and the WASP, followed shortly by the rumbleing of the MAC's.
"Sir, we are leaking reactor coolants and have heavy damage, I don't know how long we can keep it up" Aphrodite announced coolly.

ON SURFACE

An explosion went off feet behind colonel Boyd as he lead his squad up the slope, his troops had fought hard, and meeting heavy resistance. He paused his group and got on the comms channel.
"This is Beta squad, we have met haevy resistance, requesting bombardment of coordinates, searria-tango 234" Boyd shouted into the microphone.
He dropped it and turned immedeatly to catch a group of grunts sneaking up their flank.

"Ma'am. The non-covenant ships ahve landed troops. Also the smaller one keeps refering to us as a UNSC vessile."
"I understand. How much longer till we are in dropping range?"
"30 seconds untill min safe distance."
"Wait till we are 15 seconds past the min and drop pods near a decent land form."

Drop Bay of the Guardian
Slowly the pods much like the ones used by the UNSC were being let go and dropped by fours. Slowly the command pod began to speed up to be at the head of the pack closely fallowed by the other officers droping in. As they began to hit the atmosphere sum more unlucky pods had there chutes open to early to have them burn up resulting in them preparing to dig there own graves on the Halo ring. Other more unlucky pods impacted in lakes and rocks kiling the occupants. Of those that dropped only 204 made it down in a 2.5 square kilometer area.

The captain shook his head, watching the hologram in the center of the bridge. What seemed to be a loud silence had descended over the room, and as the ship decelerated while approaching Halo, he motioned vaguely to the communications officer sitting opposite him on the bridge. "Begin a datalink to the fifth and sixth fleets. They'll be within realtime communications range, and we might need the sixth's better-equipped ships as compared to this bucket of bolts. We don't need a thirty second delay in giving them a sitrep."

The woman at communications nodded grimly, touching a few commands on her holodisplay, before looking toward the captain again. "Channel open."

The captain nodded, standing from his chair and pacing the circular bridge, around the system display. "Status report, Triantaena system, nineteen thirty hours. This looks to be turning into a lovely little clusterf*ck. Whatever that ringworld is, it seems to be of interest to all the vessels that have appeared here over the last few minutes - I doubt this many vessels appearing is a coincidence. We'll maintain a tactical datastream to you two fleets as well as the home fleet. I'm sure that you got our earlier databurst with the ringworld - fifth fleet, please analyze that data and see if we've got anything in our database about such worlds. As I noted it's not particularly compatible with our physiology but that doesn't mean we might not have had something to do with it before the Fall."

The captain stopped pacing and nodded to the communications officer, and she terminated the voice portion of the datalink. He sat again, cracked his knuckles, and looked around the room. Everyone looked back, as the bridge was arranged with a series of consoles set around a central holographic display. "Status report," he stated.

The communications officer was the first to speak up. "We've intercepted some transmissions. They appear to be human language. Computer decoded them, they were standard hails and requests for assistance versus the ship we first saw enter. Apparently they were identified as a 'Covenant' vessel. Further transmissions were intercepted from the vessels engaging them in combat, we're attempting to use the usual linguistics to decode them but it's going to take a while. We're getting some transmissions from the relic in the same language."

The sensors officer spoke next. "We've been unable to get a quality scan of the materials making up the other ships. The technologies of either side seem to be similar, for the most part, though not completely identical on the ships identified as human. One of the ships on the Covenant side have approached to land... as has a human ship. Whatever's on that ring, they must want it badly. The battle seems to be going on the humans' side."

Shaking his head, the captain murmured, "And here we are, in a damned cutlass class, the only class without troop pods. I doubt our marines are up to surface combat at this point. Comms, request backup in the event that we -do- need to go down. This may not be one of our relics but we don't want it destroyed in combat either. We could regain a good deal of lost technology in studying it."

As the communications officer acknowledged this command, the tactical officer looked to the captain and said, "We've got about three hundred fifty marines, they are equipped with armored exoskeletons. They're capable of going down onto the surface if need be, but I suggest we avoid it, the numbers are clearly not in our favor at this point. From what I could check of their weaponry, it would probably go through our shields like rice paper - as most things do - but the crystaluminum would mitigate most damage. Most weapons appear to be beam weapons, though the missiles concern me. We don't know what kind of warheads they might have. If they hit us right with those slugthrowers we may have some problems, but I anticipate that's unlikely - and they've not engaged us, either, which means they either have not noticed us - unlikely - or they consider us neutral in their conflict."

At the helm, the officer there stated, "We're approaching the ringworld now. Distance is one hundred thousand kilometers. Slowed engines to fifteen hundred kilometers per second - I'll take us to full stop when we're five thousand kilometers away so as to remain on the side of the ring opposite those ships over there. Sixty seconds out at this point."

"Right then," the captain said, exhaling. "Tactical, launch fighters, have them take up standard formation. Comms, see if the sixth fleet can free up a few frigates, or better, a few destroyers. I doubt we've got any chance of getting a battle group out here right now, but at this point you never know. See if we can get an Avatar to advise on what to do. This would probably be our first contact with any of these combatants, they don't appear to be any we've cataloged. None of the human ships fit the profiles we know of for either friendly or enemy human nations. Maintain radio silence until then, or until we're hailed."

She nodded, sending the message out. Within seconds of the command being issued, sixteen fighters that had already been prepared for flight launched, taking up formation around the ship and escorting it. The ship began to slow, then stopped a short distance from the 'top' of the ringworld. Five thousand kilometers - not far, when considering the scale of an object such as this. "What is the Prophet doing on Halo?" roared one of the Elites over the Grav-engines. Para'mee, the commander of the mission, shook his head violently and spread his jaws. "The ways of the Prophets are mysterious." the young Sangheili replied, his polished black armor glittering in the light. The replay, however, was quite clearly Covenant in origin.

"Holiest of Sons the Scourge have found enlightenment and I require you all by my side. Come to me and we shall rid this Holy Ring of the Human infestation."

"The Scourge?" one of the Grunts chirped in confusion.

"It can't mean what I think." Para'mee replied, then braced himself as the dropships banked and deposited the clutches of troops that composed the Covenant strike force into the vale. Oro'mee, suspicious as always, had deployed a large force with no fewer than five of the special forces Sangheili like Para'mee as his subordinates.

Para'mee also had the services of a pair of the Lekgolo. The Sangheili smiled a little...Oro'mee was particularly protective of his junior officer. Para'mee was flanked by the armored behemoths as the powerful strike force advanced on the temple location from where the signal had originated.

Nothing but echoes.

Para'mee was no fool, even if his faith had led him to this place. His finger motions stirred the Covenant into a higher state of alertness as he switched his comm on.

"Holy one, we seem to have a situation here..." Para'mee began, then stopped.

Standard formation dictated that the Unggoy remain up forward, with the Sangheili commanders in the rear. However, standard formation had never imagined that corrupted Yan'amee would dive-bomb the command retinue, causing the Grunts to scatter in a panic. Yet this is precisely what happened. Plasma fire spiraled skyward as Para'mee fired frantically, downing a flier who had been targeting him. A rookie Elite in blue armor was not so fortunate, and was coverted to paste by a direct hit.

The Lekgolo were quick to respond, firing a barrage of fuel rod blasts at the mass of oncoming carrier forms. Unfortunately, this had the undesirable effect of sending one of them flying right into the center of the Covenant formation. The resulting explosion knocked Para'mee off his feet, and the infection forms were crawling over him a moment later.

Panicked, he crushed them, but no matter how many of them he killed they kept coming, eager to claim him for their very own. The Sangheili scrambled backwards and managed to gain some distance. The bulk of his command had already been consumed by the Flood. Even the Hunters had gone down under tangles of attacking forms.

He was the only one left.

Para'mee roared the command to retreat for any who remained alive to hear it, and the Covenant survivors scattered into the woods as quickly as their feet could carry them, some of them throwing aside weapons in their frantic efforts to escape.

OOC: Sorry for being late, got thrown off the computer :(
(BTW Camel Eaters, that message went to the real prophet of anger, but I’ll just assume that the AI behaved annoyingly (annoying artifact)

IC: “Curse my lack of attention” ‘Rolamee growled as he made evasive maneuvers, trying to avoid a plethora of enemy fire. An MAC round hit the cruiser mid-ship, but the shields were a new invention, using the recent particle acceleration technology, but even then, the shields flared brightly, then archer missiles slammed into the ship.

On bridge of Undying Anger:

‘Rolamee barked at the AI, “Damage report holy tool”.

“Shields are down to twenty-two percent, enemy is regrouping and preparing to attack again, the sharquoi and fellow covenant have begun landing on the ring, I suggest we too land ground forces, and leave the ring until reinforcement arrive”, the metallic voice lacked any mercy or passion, just like the prophets.

“Commence that, but first return fire with everything that has line of site”

A hologram came up, displaying a message.

“What’s this? The prophet of anger isn’t on this halo is he?” ‘Rolamee sounded bewildered, as he was.

A hint of shock was also in the AI, “No, but perhaps there is a prophet on the surface Shipmaster”

“Cancel all previous orders, have us touch down on the planet, if there is a prophet there, he must be rescued, relay a message back to the prophet of anger and then send another message to the unknown prophet

Honored and revered Prophet of Anger,

The sharquoi have the advantage, and will win, unless aid comes, I realize that we have little to spare, but we have received a message from a prophet on the holy ring.
"Holiest of Sons the Scourge have found enlightenment and I require you all by my side. Come to me and we shall rid this Holy Ring of the Human infestation." We are now going to land on the sacred ring, and find or rescue the prophet. The other survivors, as well as the vermin have begun landfall on the ring.

Your loyal servant,
Shipmaster ‘Rolamee

To Honorable prophet

Holy one, what is the situation where you are? We are going to go groundside, and rendezvous with you, fear not for I know fellow covenant shall be coming to this ring to assist.

“He must be lying about the “scourge”, as in all the times we have encountered, fought, and conquered them, not one has aided us, perhaps he is unstable?”, the AI’s voice had a tone of question and a little elevation, as it was suggesting that a prophet had become mentally…unhinged.

“Artifact, I warn you not to question the words of the prophet, but we have more pressing matters than his mental state, have the plasma weaponry charged yet”

“Of course shipmaster”

“Fire NOW, target the new engager (Memphis), then put everything into engines and shields”

“It is done now, shields are now up to fifty-one percent, engines operating at full capacity.”

Outside Undying Anger:

Seven globs of red light was ejected into space, staggered into a formation that covered a large area, two of the plasma torpedoes tore through space, all of this super-heated death was remotely guided by the AI, while the Undying Anger’s engines flared as it sped towards the ring….

Outside the forest near the fleeing covenant
The small by most standards insertion team were busy setting up a landing pad on the other side of the forest near a temple that was broadcasting a signal. As some of the more unlucky ones were busy digging trenches and setting up a landing pad others were scouting the forest dropping remote sensors.
"Drop one there and about one hundred metters to the east drop another one. If anything we have to be ready for an attack," a major shouted at his small four man squad. Only afew hundred meters away the AE and a small group of shock troops were moving on the temple. Afew armed with XR-40's set in the plasma rifle setting moved foreward slowly while behind them afew rocket jockeys with there launchers slung over ther backs and SMGs in hand. "Alright. I want everyone else to stay here. If I don't come back alert the others that something has happened and alert to commander to send down the heavy weapons," the AE said as he crouched in his jet black armor almost like the "demons." The others noded and began to spreed out taking safer more hidden postions from prying eyes. Slowly the AE began to creap foreward his rifle to his shoulder watching his motion tracker's pulses waiting for a target to pop up. After only walking for afew hundred meters (473 to be exact.) Though this time it was diffrent. The enemy was running away form something. Very unlike the proud covenant to do.

On the Shadow Gaurdian's bridge
"Fire all Archer port pods at the damaged covenant ship!"
"Commander thats over 500 missiles!"
"Just fire them and during that distraction launch the dropships to renforce the squad on the ground."

Outiside
Almost 50 small dimmples on the Gaurdian's port side popped open and a hellstorm of missiles flew out of each. As they flew clsoer towards the covenant ship the lower dropship bay began to slip out 14 Eagle class dropships burdened with tanks and orther equipment.

OCC:Ok the AE armor is a jet black version of the MCs armor but also has a built in plasma sword projector. The blade can run for about 3 hours of constant use and 6 of no use. After that it must recharge for 3 hours.

Para'mee's retreat was made even more eventful by the sudden and unexpected arrival of humans in black armor firing at his detachment. One round slammed into his chest, staggering him and causing his shields to flash brightly. Mindful, he sidestepped further harm, returning fire with his plasma rifle on the run. He threw himself behind a large boulder for cover, then palmed his comm unit.

"Request immediate extraction, these coordinates. Difficult battlefield conditions!" ordered the Sangheili. He spun around the corner, revealing himself to the enemy, holding the rifle in one hand, his pistol in the other. Green and blue plasma fire screamed from the noble tools of conquest, setting alight the brush and blasting divots out of the ground.

Then the pursuing Flood arrived, and things became...complicated. Para'mee had the misfortune to meet the reanimated form of what had been one of the Elites under his command. He fired into it until the vents of his weapon flew open to dump the waste heat. He thought then that perhaps it was over, but an infection form crawled over to the fallen combat form and, before his very eyes, reanimated it AGAIN.

What remained of the Covenant detachment broke ranks and fled towards the burgeoning roar of the approach dropship.

The commander fired the plasma morter under his rifle at the advancing flood. As the explosion melted the ground where they once stood but sent bits of the remains flying everywhere. He quickly fliped the switch on the firle to retract the plasma enhancment and extend the 13.7mm barrel. He began to quickly fire small bursts at the remaining covenant while using the few grenades he had to deal with some of the flood. During only afew minutes his armor was begining to become covered in the green goo that one would assume was blood for the flood. "This is Commander Knightly. I have encountered enemy forces I repeat I have encountered enemy forces. Fall back to the base and await more equipment," he shouted into the come over the roar of his rifle. He was running after the lone elite as he fumbled with another plasma morter pack loading it into the lower portion of the launcher.

The Wasp careened towards the new coveanant ship that was heading towards the ringworld. The onboard AI was having difficulty controlling the ships failing engines, but the capitan was determined to defeat this enemy. Coolent and peices of armour drifted off the ship like fog, but she still moved forward.

"How long untill we have another fireing solution" the capitan asked.
"fifty seconds sir" Aphrodite announced.
"get a SHIVA loaded and ready to fire, aim it right at that ship, fire MAC's and missile pods at your discresion" He ordered.
"Commming on it now" She added.

The ship fired missiles and MAC rounds at the same time, making the ship shudder. Then, slightly later, a lone missile took off and headed towards the enemy ship. On the tacticle screen, he could see the LOngsword fighters dropping the last of their payload and pulling away, knowing what was to come.

*ON THE SURFACE*
Colonel Boyd hit the detination button and the door leading into the temple exploded into a hundred peices. His troopers, not even waiting for the dust to settle russhed in, shooting anything that wasn't freindly. He got the microphone and sent a message to the other troops.
"To all UNSC troops on the ringworld, we have gained entrance into the temple and are setting up a defensive position, we are sending the coordinates"

Srash was given command of a corrupted brute division and Tracculks would lead the newly corrupted hunters himself. Yana'mee suicide bombers swarmed above them eight or nine carrying an infection form to drop on the new Covenant set.

OOC: I like playing the bumbling fools :) BTW, camel eaters, could my cruiser remain uninfected? I'd like to hang onto it, seeing as I only posses two (I think a frigate will come later, you can infest that), only if it's okay with you though, otherwise, DOH.

IC: “Shipmaster, we have received a response from the prophet on halo,

Holy Rolamee. Do not despair it is a sharquoi emotion. Come and stand by my side as we fight the sharquoi infestation unless they can be forced to see the light. It is true The Scourge have inflated our ranks. Be wary though a heretic and his ship have already tried to attack the Temple. Our new brothers rebuked their attack and took their forms. I will send my Honor Guard to meet you. May your Journey be good and I smile upon you.

And from the Prophet of Anger”

Shipmaster, find out who this prophet is, but be wary, the halos contain a mighty curse that is not to be trifled with. How he is able to control the parasite, or came to be allied with them, is very…odd. As for aid, we can send one frigate, we can barley spare it, we may be able to send a second, but do not expect it, the other frigate will take several hours, if not a day to arrive.

Prophet of Anger

The ship shook as if a child had picked it up, then several other smaller ones occurred.

“What in the rings was that artifact?!”

“One of there solid projectiles, shields are down to two percent, and one of there “shivas” are on an impact course with us”

“Okay, artifact, activate the particle cells and head straight towards the halo”

“We risk a crash though, and the”

“It’s a risk we have to take, either that, or we stay here to die or be disabled, do it NOW”

“Of course…it is done”

All over the ship, crew and military personal not seated or somehow fixed were thrown towards the back of the ship, as six loud bangs (if sound could be heard in space) happened. Six fuel cells that had some particle accelerator generators had been opened, thus jettisoning the vessel into halo’s “orbit”(does halo have an orbit, I don’t know for sure), unfortunately, it was only temporary, as it took several hours to recharge after it’s usage. Now, the humans could fire, but they would risk destroying the ring, and all the humans on the ring.

“Quickly artifact, respond to the earlier messages.”

Unknown prophet,

I shall quickly be sending down a flight of three fiends (I named the original covenant dropship, just so you guys know). I request to learn the location of the heretics, so my forces and I can go deal with them.

Prophet of Anger

The prophet on halo is now under attack from heretics, clearly these aren’t survivors, they must have boarded and taken the ship from its rightful owners, my men are going to seek them out and destroy them.

You loyal tool,
Shipmaster ‘Rolamee

‘Rolamee pushed a series of icons, thus sending his voice to the launch bays.

“Sons of the covenant, you are now going to go to the surface, and fight alongside one of the holy ones, but be warned, heretics are also abroad, as well as the foul vermin. Do not be alarmed by the flood, for they are our brethren now, and shall fight alongside us against our foes, now go, and fulfill your oath to the covenant”

Cheering rose from the bay, as three of the Fiends were loaded (8 grunts and 2 elites each, also 2 are carrying the new shades, and a Wight)

A full squadron of Banshees was also attached to the three drop ships.

Quickly, all 15 vessels headed towards the library…

OOC: Wight= A shade turret, only replace the plasma cannon with twin-linked hunter-fuel rod cannons.

Maybe the flood won’t consume the ground team immediately, maybe they will be helped by flood :0

A message was received from Gravemind. Tracculks was sullen as he realized that he would no longer be ambushing these new Covenant. Gravemind knew that between the humans and the Covenant that his children would be wiped out.

Tracculks had switched bodies. His Prophet clone floated about at the front of his Vanguard waiting for his new allies to arrive. His mind still drifted into the Lekgolo body and it stood tall in reinforced armor.

Tracculks was now the Prophet of Death...

Annoying prophets, get them selves stuck by themselves.

“Pilot, how much further till we get there?”

The pilot, an elite, kept his eyes on the screen, but still answered, “We should be coming into site…. now”.

The three fiends swung over, adopting a delta formation of landing, with the arrow pointing away from the lone prophet.

“What is he doing, where are his honor guard?”

“I’m not detecting any, maybe they have different signatures or some other thing”

“Either way, he’s exposing himself to some of the enemy snipers”

‘Fulsamee wobbled a little as the drop ship made a full landing, almost simultaneous with the doors opening.

‘Fulsamee quickly charged out, “Now you unggoy, column formation, six ranks of four, fellow sangheili, form up with your respective charges”, of course ‘Fulsamee was in the lead, as they marched up to the prophet. He bowed, as the rest followed suite, “Holy one, we have come to your aid in this hour”.

Overhead, the banshees patrolled in pairs…..

OOC: Yeah that sounds good.

IC: Tracculks spun around. Looking into their eyes he spoke in the harsh Lekgolo tongue. Thirty corrupted Lekgolo in full armor appeared from almost thin air.

Next the Yana'mee swarmed overhead as Srash and his command of Brutes marched to the front.

Tracculks's old Lekgolo body stood beside him not a single patch of skin showing. "I am the Prophet of Death and my ears extend far. My Vanguard has patrolled and found no enemy snipers."

His Prophet body smiled as the Regicide registered a ship approaching...

BTW, are the guys I’m seeing now look infested, or do they look normal? I’ll assume the “prophet” is normal and the rest are infested(If it’s not I’ll edit it if you want)

IC: ‘Fulsamee was unnerved by what the prophet said, and then the large host of combat forms that came out. Several of the grunts started to squeal quietly in fright, the other elites eyes narrowed, and their hands drew to their weapons, ready to pull them out if combat should occur.

How could he hear me? Where did these come from, the pilot didn’t detect anything? That is secondary now anyways.

“Holy one, have you need of weapons or vehicles, I am not sure what we could spare, but I am sure that the ship master would be willing. More strike teams have also assembled, all we need to know is the location of the heretics, and we shall strike them down.”

Outside halo:

The Unrelenting Destruction came out of a sphere of light, and was in close proximity to the unknown vessel (Regicide).

“Shipmaster” An unggoy cried out, “There are several sharquoi vessels here, along with our Undying anger and another covenant vessel, a possible forerunner ship is now broadside with us”

Another unggoy turned to the gold elite, “We just received a message from Undying Anger, we are to board the unknown vessel, and try to use it against the enemy vermin, so we can gain superiority up here”

‘Ikaporomee would have been flustered, but he seemed to be devoid of emotions, “Alright, launch a wave of fifteen boarding craft, consisting of unggoy, kig-yars, and jiralhanae, as for the vermin’s ships, try to keep the ring between us and them, and divert everything to the shields, have the seraphs ready to be a picket”

Capitan O'Neil covered his eyes as the SHIVA detonated, the bright light filled the bridge. But as soon as it had begun, it dissapeared. He squinted to see the covanant ship moving away and towards the ringworld. Sparks were dancing across her hull. It appeared she took a lot of damage, but with the covenant, looks could be deceiving.
"Sir, I have the ship under control, the coolant leak has been repaired and the atmosphere leak has been stopped as well. engines are up to 75% and MAC guns are ready to fire" Aphrodite announced.
"Good, follow that ship, have the Longswords return to the ship and prepare another SHIVA" O'Neil ordered.
"But sir, detonating a SHIVA that close to the ring would destroy it" The AI argued.
"I'm counting on them not calling the bluff. Have us set course so that we are directly above the temple, and when you can, fire missile pods and divert missile pod 6 to fire apon it" He continued.
"But sir, that will take us in a direct collision course with the covenant ship, not to mention putting Colonel Boyds men in danger" The AI argued agian.

As if hinted on that moment, a transmission came on.
"WASP, this is Colonel Boyd, we have flood on the ring, I repeat, flood on the ring, my group was attacked. A few of us got away, we are headed to what looks like a landing pad area. Warn the troops from the MEMPHIS" His voice was a little shakey.
"Okay, we'll let them know, we are sending some more troopers down to that position" The Capitan said.
The transmission cut out.
"Aphrodite, tell the MEMPHIS of the situation, and have Corpral Harrison to be ready at the dropship in five minuets" He snapped.

*ON THE SURFACE*
Colonel Boyd and his 12 companions stumbled out of the brush only to fall in what seemed to be a pre dug trench, something was up here. He told his men to keep down and he looked over the parpet to see men busy clearing trees and digging more trenches, also, a landing pad seemed to have been cleared. This was curios, but he couldn't help thinking that something was wrong.

" YES, SIR! " Was the reply from the Corporal's mouth, saluting the Sergeant and recieving a dismissing salute. Harrison gathered a Squad of 12 others, 1 pilot and 11 Marines. They boarded a drop ship, and set out for the Ring World.

The way down, some of the men, all privates, 2 snipers, rest with Assault rifles, some prayed. As they prayed, they were suddenly struck by something, knocking out the engine to the drop ship. The Pilot couldn't turn them back on, and now those Prays better be going for a safe landing. Harrison relieved the Pilot of her duty, she took a seat and He replaced her. He started to manually pilot it to the coordinates, trying not to get off course. They finally landed, in water. They were definatly not where there supposed to be, perhaps the blast thrown them a 100 miles or so off? Now they would have to March to MEMPHIS. Or set a camp up, depending on the orders of the Captain.

( THIS IS NOW MIKE'S POINT OF VIEW )

Cpl Harrison awoken, the drop ship managed to float to shore. Everyone was still unconcious, or were they dead? He was to hazy to know exactly. He dragged the other Marines out one by one, using what strength he had in his half concious body. He got them all out, all of them in a line on there backs. 3 had awoken later on, the Pilot , a Sniper and a Marine. The rest but one awoken much later. The one was there only Medic, they put his body in the drop ship and closed to hatch to try and protect from any Covenant, they didn't want the body to be in pieces when it arrived home...or if.

Later, after the two hours of doing all of this, Harrison established radio contact with Captain O'Neil.

" Captain, this is Corporal Harrison. We have been hit and landed far off our objective, and we have 1 dead. Private Williams, Medic....our only medic in the squad. We are awaiting your orders to whether march to our objective or stay here? Or a new objective. "

" Thats a 'Firm Aphrodite. We'll be switching to Radio silence, and will radio you when we arrive at the 2nd Squad. Harrison Out " Was the response of the Marine.

Before leaving, Harrison put a tracker on the Dropship so that some UNSC Vessal would locate it, and find the body, and send it home to find a grave and its family.

After that was done, which took about 3 Minutes, Harrison gathered the rest of his squad, 11 others, and they headed out.

It was all beach at first but then they started to get into meshy Jungle. The Marines kept trudging through for what sempt hours, but in reality it was only a Hour and 34 Minutes. They had made it through the Jungle, with no surprise attacks. Probably meant this part of the Ring world was the only peaceful part. All in all, they had made half, or about half, of the March. 7 Clicks out of 13, and no problems yet. But Harrison kept reminding him self in the privacy of his own thoughts, Expect the unexpected. He started having some memorys back on the WASP, in Briefings about The Covenant. He hadn't seen any yet, and has also heard of the Flood, which a live sample was aboard the ship, well not exactly live now. It was dead, from a wound...so he heard. They kept marching until someone flipped out and exclaimed he saw movement in a brush and some quiet squeeky voice. ( OOC To those who played Halo, The Grunts ) Harrison motioned the Marines to get in a Defensive Position, ( Remember there not in the Jungle now ) Harrison had taken cover behind a Rock along side one of the Snipers. They waited for more movement and hopefully a attack. Now Harrison was thinking back harder, remembering talk about The Covenant. He remembered when he was still a Private First Class, talking about...Grunts...thats right, Grunts. They were small, coward like Creatures with high pitched squeaky voice. So thats what it was. Cpl Harrison was being annoyed, perhaps the Private had seen nothing. As he was about to order his Squad to step down, a shiny blue ball flew out of the brush, landing on the chest of a Marine. Within 3 Seconds, the soldier was gone inside a Blue Plasmatic explosion. Then green shots rang out of the brush and Harrison screamed ' FIRE ' and the Marines unloaded thousands of pieces of Lead into that brush. Harrison had used up a full Clip, and then gave a hold fire command. He then had a Marine come with him to walk up to the Brush, and check for a body.

" Well I'd be damned... " The Private said

And there it was, the body of a Orange stubby Covenant, holding a wierd pistol sized contraption, with a pool of blue blood flow from his Abdomin.

" Well, seems we went over kill here boys and girls, think we should lower the ammount of Ammunition used next time. " Harrison said with a jokingly wink.

Harrison rallied up the 10 remaining Marines, and headed twards Squad 2. As the Marines marched forward, they could hear Gun Fire and explosions. Even the odd sound of a Plasma Gun firing. And suddenly, over head flew a Covenant Dropship, possibly recruits to fight Squad 2. Seeing this, Harrison ordered the Squad to double time its way to Squad 2.

Now with 2 Clicks away, closing in on 1 click, Harrison had his Squad check there guns and equipment incase of any Gun Jams or Half Emptied Clips. After they were done, he Continued, now a Running March. About 15 Minutes later of open field and a small forest, they had found there way in the middle of a huge fire fight. And immediatly, what was called ' The Flood ' started to appear within the Vecinity of the Marines.

" What the hell?! " A sniper screamed looking through his scope at wierd Mutagenic Yellowish looking Humanoids ( Infested Marines )

Harrison, looking through his binoculars only managed to squeeze out of his lips was " Oh my lord... " And with out wasting more then even 3 seconds, he exclaimed " FIRE "

The 10 Marines kept up a fire fight with 8 Infested Marines, whom were firing from afar too. Some of them had Plasma Weaponry, and a Marine directly to Harrison's right was shot in the arm ( Unarmored part ) with a Plasma bolt, dropping his gun screaming in pain on the ground. These Infested were just hard to nail down to the ground.

A good 10 - 14 Minutes of fighting had passed, taking 2 Injured Marines, and 1 casualty back at the Grunt. Harrison radioed in again to the Vessel.

" This is Corporal Harrison. Status report:

2 Casualties Total, One dead upon crash landing, one dead of Plasma type Grenade.

2 Injured Soldiers, one shot in the lower arm with a plasma bolt and has intense burns, unable to wield his fire arm, and one Unconcious from slipping and hitting his head on a flat rock, reason for injury...well he didn't have a Helmet, just a Camo Hat ( Like the Snipers in Halo the Game )

As for me, I am perfectly fine. We are lugging around the unconcious Marine, and were still looking for Squad 2. We are within there Vecinity. Wait...gunfire..what the?

OOC: Your posts don't suck Camel Eaters, they are straight to the point, no pansiesh poetry (suppresses the inner-ork)
My posts are great? No they aren't, they seem to have giant holes of failure in them, how to patch them up, I'm clueless.

I really like the small number of ships here, sorry for bringing a second, but I REALLY want to keep my cruiser, sorry.

IC: "Yes holy one", ‘Fulsamee turned to his soldiers, "Now my fellow brethren, the unbeliever and the unclean shall be hunted down and stuck down like the lowly creatures they are!"

Some of the grunts who were panicking grew a spine and stopped sniveling, yet the elites remained cautious, they had encountered and fought the flood before, they were capable of anything...even treachery, but the prophet there reassured them.

The twelve banshees overhead adopted a staggered formation as they awaited the banshee corps....

On the Regicide
"This is very, very bad thing" Juju cried as he watched his squad get massacred by a swarm of flood combat forms. His superior, a sangheili, barked out "GRENADE", in his right hand, he had a covenant carbine, in his left, was a primed plasma grenade. The three surviving grunts leaped towards the back, as the flaming blue ball arced over and landed at the edge. It quickly exploded and sent a shower of blood and limbs from both sides everywhere.

The sangheili got into the cockpit, as the pilot was killed infection forms.

Already, more combat forms swarmed over the dead, as the three grunts returned fire. The sangheili had launched the pod from the ship and was heading back to the Unrelenting Destruction when he heard...nothing. "What the hel..".He trailed off, the three grunts were covered in infection forms, six each at least, on the floor was a flood. He snatched for his weapon, but the flood washed over him, his last feeling was the penentrator tapping into his spine....
(There is now at least one way for them to board)

On board the Unrelenting Destruction
"What is going on over there!?"

"We aren't sure, we can't detect anything, some form of disruption we guess....wait, some pods are coming back, we have survivors who have fled and are coming back into the launch bays”

“Hmm, assemble all warriors to the launch bays, seal entrances leading away from it, if they come back with parasites, it will be difficult to fight them off”

“Of course Excellency”

"They WHAT?" roared Oro'mee with no small degree of fury. Para'mee, one of only three survivors from the mission to recover the "Prophet", lowered his head in shame, looking truly haggard in his red, green, and purple-splattered armor.

"We underestimated the battle worthiness of the parasite, noble one." Para'mee said at length, not daring to look the other sangheili in the eye. "I take full responsibility."

Oro'mee gave his subordinate a harsh look, and then growled, "One week's penance to the spirit of Regret, to be rendered once we return in to High Charity in victory." the Elite decreed and then, having administered punishment to Para'mee for the failure, gestured for him to look up. "In the mean time, we shall plot our vengeance against brute and parasite alike. Holy tool!"

The Justice's Construct, ever loyal to Oro'mee, flickered into purple existence above the nearby holoprojector. "Yes, excellency."

"Have you yet managed to gain contact with our brothers aboard the other ship?" Oro'mee asked.

"Pardon, noble one, but I have failed thus far." the AI replied.

Oro'mee clicked his jaws in disapproval, and stretched. "Continue to try. As soon as you succeed, send them all data we have on the false Prophet and the brutes."

"It shall be done." the AI rejoined.

IC:
On the Shadow Guardian's bridge
"Shit boarding craft inbound! 15 contacts advancing 100km off the port side."
"F*ck. Launch fighters and activate the 50mm auto-cannons," the commander barked out as she hit the com to the entire ship, "This is the commander speaking. All hands prepare to reppel posible boarders."
"50mm's armed and ready. All 15 fighter launch systems online."

In the Guardian's hanger
Pilots began sprinting towards there VBR-3 and VBR-2 interceptors while launch crews began leading fighters to one of the 13 elevators to the launching decks.

Everywhere else on the guardian was buzzing with activity. Of the 6000 marines on the destroyer only 500 were on the surface. Mean while the other 5500 marines were busy setting up fortifications in key areas while the rest of the crew were being awaken from sleep or ordered to there stations.
Back on the bridge the commander was at the weapons station to the rear of the bridge grabbing the older XR-33's and AE-13 Pistols and tossing them to some of the bridge crew. She then reached in and began to slip on some basic armor (covering her torso, upper arms, wirsts, thighs, and lower legs.)
As she slipped on the helmet she resembled one of the AE except for the lack of armor. She looked over the wrist armor and smirked. The left wrist portion was a plasma sword projector as well. Though it wasn't as powerful as the stnadard in AE combat armor it was still deadly in the rihgt hands.

On Halo
The lone AE primed another clip in his XR-40. He had been using the plasma rifle system to try and save ammo but the battery was running to low to be of any use. He was down to atleast six or seven full clips and was almost ready to switch to his side arm. He was slowly aproching a temple where one of the signals were coming from when he heard gun fire and began to run for the shadows to try and see waht was going on.
Back at the outpost the dropships were begining to deploy there payloads.

OCC:Ok jsut alittle stat break. The VBR-3 and VBR-2 stats are in the link.
VBR-2 and 3 stats (http://s8.invisionfree.com/The_Federation_STFC/index.php?showtopic=23)
Also the 50mm auto-cannon on the Guardian use HE bullets and there are 120 of them. Also the VBR-3 and VBR-2 use 65mm auto-cannon on there backs.

The WASP continued to move towards the covenant ship, her capitan determined to take her down no matter what.
"Aphrodite, increase speed, and stand by to fire MAC's on my order" The capitain said.
"But sir, if we go any faster, we won't be able to pull away, we would crash right into them" The AI argued.
"I know, but I don't know what else to do, we can't take much more damage and there seems to be an unrelenting stream of enemy vessles" He replied.

The WASP came closer and closer to the target.

"Range" O'Neil asked.
"1000 km sir and closing" Aphrodite replied.

The capitan said a little prayer as he hit the shipboard intercom.

"ALL HANDS BRACE FOR IMPACT! STAND BY TO REPELL BOARDERS!" He yelled.

Klaxons and and the sound of men a women getting ready rang throughout the ship. O'Neil had no clue if he would survive this. He turned to face Aphrodite.

"128 km sir, shall we fire?"She said.
"Not now, you should get yourself down to colonel Boyd, you'll be safer there. That's an order" The capitain ordered.
"Yes sir" she said solemly, as her form dissarpeared.

A crewman turned to look at the capitain, he stood at the front of the bridge, he stood as a stone, as though nothing but the wind o ftime could move him. The capitian notices the crewmans gaze and turned to him.
"son, it's going to be okay, we may not come through this, but we are about to save countless lives" He said, but deep in his mind he knew that that might not come to be, but he had to try, he turned again forward.

The WASP was now within stones throw of the covenant ship.

"FIRE!" O'Neil shouted.

At literally point blank rangs the MAC guns roared, sending three MAC rounds at the covenant ship, hundreds of missiles flew toward there target. Then, after they impacted, the WASP plowed into the ship. For a moment, the capitain saw a bright light, but all of that was followed by darkness.

*ON THE SURFACE*
A shadow slowly crept across the ground. Boyd looked up to see a covenant ship hovering high overhead. But something was up. He could see something comming at the ship....it was another one.....it was the WASP. He looked in horror at the scene, at nearly point blank rang the WASP opened fire, and then collided with the covenant ship, explosions covered the entire area above, but he couldn't tell from which ship it had come from. Missile began to rain down from the sky, striking in and around the temple up the hill at his rear. But his thoughts instantly drifted to all of those on the WASP, but his thoughts were interrupted by another voice.

"Hello colonel" the familiar voice rang.
"Aphrodite?"

IC: A ripple of kinetic energy flowed through the ship, smashing all but the most solid or strong to the floor, the skin of the Undying Anger blistered and cracked like heat-singed flesh. The sickening sounds of stretching and breaking of metal echoed out, as the rear of the ship was torn entirely off along with the sharquoi vessel. Countless crew were sucked into space, most of them died from the vacuum or lack of air, only the yanme’e survived to “fly” back inside.

The command deck was a ruin. Half the screens were black, blue flames flickered out of various areas, limited communication still overwhelmed the lines that remained.

“WHAT IN THE NAME OF THE FORERUNNERS HAPPENED!?” ‘Rolamee bellowed out.

Any snide remarks that the AI would have made were stowed away, “Shipmaster, you failed to remain attentive again, the “beaten” vessel came back and used an almost, if not, suicidal attack, there ship along with weapons have torn off the rear of our cruiser, I have already initiated afterburners on the part that is still here, as you have failed to notice that we are plummeting at a high rate of decent, our crash will land us opposite of the library, and will occur in…24.7 seconds”.

‘Rolamee was cursing under his breath, the AI had fore held the information, when, well if, I survive this, a new AI will be needed. Pushing one of the still lighted icons, his voice went ship wide, “All crew, prepare for crash landing, secure any available equipment, may the prophets guide you”.

The ground rushed to greet the new coming vessel….

What had freaked Harrison out was what would make a mere child die of fright. 1 Man fell , blood splatted out and you could hear a sheething noise when the men were killed. Like a sword, but they couldn't see anything. Then Harrison noticed something wierd, like a heat wave...in the form of a tall....7'0" to be exact, or almost exact...standing in front of him. He immediatly decided not to wait for a invintation to a tea party, and fired right as he saw it move twards him. The creature fell, body no longer invisible. There lie a strange blue blade, firey blue....like the plasma bolts he saw in a previous battle.

Fortunatly, there was one of them...and only one. Harrison tried to radio the WASP but didn't get a signal. He decided to march his men to Squad 2, and hopefully when they arrive, set up some defensive perimeter and rest a bit.

IC: Almost as one, the covenant from the Undying Anger looked at their falling ship.

‘Fulsamee uttered a growl, “Quickly banshees, go and find out what just happened over there, and if there are any survivors”, he turned towards the prophet of death, “Holy one, my warriors are going to go now, it will still bring us into the fight with the heretics and sharquoi, but I must find out what happened”. All ready, the teams of grunts and elites were moving into the forest, hunting the heretic and vermin, the three drop ships took off, and where going to provide air cover and reconnaissance. ‘Fulsamee turned once at the edge of the forest before disappearing, “We shall return holy one”, and with that, he drew out his carbine and headed off….

Repost of Message to Undying Anger:
------------------------------------

To: The Most Esteemed and Ferocious Commander 'Rolamee, Shipmaster of the Undying Anger

From: The Wise and Tenacious Commander Ranu Oro'mee, Shipmaster of the Vengeful Justice

Noble Brother In Battle,

As per the command of our most holy and esteemed Prophet of Truth, I was called to defend this Holy Relic known as Halo from the filthy humans. For four millicycles I executed my duty in good faith, trusting in the guidance of the Prophets.

Yet the Jiralhanae betrayed us most foul! Many of our Sangheili brethren were felled in battle for the Vengeful Justice, and now all those that yet survive have fled with me to the base on Halo. Battlefield conditions are difficult. Yet with your aid, we shall carry on and scour the unbelievers from the sacred Ring and fulfill our own small role in the Great Journey.

Yours in Faith,

Oro'mee

The base Oro'mee had focused his attentions upon was called, appropriately enough, Demon's Bane. It was a large structure built by the Forerunners for some unguessed purpose. From its' hallowed halls (which reached deep down vertical shafts into the bosom of the ringworld), Oro'mee fought for control of Halo. It was a well-built structure with only three entrances....the main entrance, another larger entrance that served as a vehicle port for the substantial number of ghosts, banshees, and wraiths that Oro'mee had on hand, and a promontory far above the ground from which Oro'mee often regarded the ringworld. Both of the ground level entrances were well-fortified with Shade gun emplacements. Oro'mee felt confident in the ability of his security forces to defeat any threat to Demon's Bane.

OOC: Thanks Shalrirorchia

IC: A kinetic shockwave was felt for several kilometers in both directions as the Undying Anger crashed into the ring. The after burners helped, as the ring was not torn apart from the impact, it also saved what was left of the ship.

On the bridge of the Undying Anger:
'Rolamee had blacked out for several seconds, before he was roused by his pain. Well, no paradise, lots of pain, and that infernal artifact, nope, not dead. He lifted himself up, grimacing at possibly broken bones, but more importantly, the damage reports scrolling across the working screens.

A large portion of the crew were dead, many vehicles and other gear had also been destroyed, nearly half the plasma cannons and one of the plasma torpedo tubes were destroyed, the rear part of the ship, including the main engines, was completely gone.

A small light winked on and off on a monitor, 'Rolamee sighed with frustration, it wasn't supposed to go like this. He keyed the icon to open the message when the spiteful AI appeared, "Oh, you're still alive, how wonderful", the tone had no joy or sympathy, it had an undertone of anger.

'Rolamee did his best to avoid this and read the message from the heretic leader, even though the AI detected his reactions spike.

Oro'mee? He would not sink to treachery, and his report matches up with what the other survivors have said, but the prophet that was here said he was a heretic, maybe....

"Artifact, send a message back to Oro'mee, perhaps he is not the traitor we thought."

The AI hissed at him, "What you speak yourself shipmaster is heresy, if the pro-"

"Do it now, or I'll do it myself artifact, we are at a critical moment of our existence"

The AI glowered at him, noting to report fully when they finally returned to the prophet of anger, but complied.

To: Ranu Oro'mee, Shipmaster of the Vengeful Justice

From: 'Rolamee, Shipmaster of the Undying Anger

I do not know why I even think of speaking to a prophet-labeled heretic, but the fall of high charity has opened many doors. If you are not a heretic, then what happened at high charity, and prove it.

Outside the Undying Anger:
True to its name, those watching it at a distance of a foot or so, could see small threads coming out of the ship, re-knitting the vessel, it wouldn't restore the main engines, but in a day or so, the hull will be entirely resealed...

OOC: Just another forerunner goodie my group found, but didn't have time to send it back, it cane me the fame and skin of the ship, but can't repair anything that needs to be installed.

"What are you doing in my head?" Boyd asked.
"Attached myself to a comms transmission, now I am interlinked into your helmets computer inlet, I can transfer to your head if you want, but it might be a little difficult to get me out" He said.
Colonel Boyd stared in awe as the covenant ship fell from the sky, her engines ripped away from the ret of the ship. Debri began to burn as it entered the atmosphere and made landfall in firery explosions. Quickly the ship came down, untill Boyd could not see it. Then suddenly, the ground shook ferociously and sent him flying into the trench him and his men were in. The sky burned blue like flame. He covered his eyes to sheild himself from the brightness. It slowly faded and he looked up agian, in hopes of seeing his ship, but all he saw was a massive debri feild floating above the ring. His heart felt suddenly sore when he thought of his crewmates.
"I tried to talk him out of it" Aphrodite said "but ever since Reach, he has been unpredictable....there was no other choice, the ship was battered, she couldn't fight much longer"
"I know" Boyd murmured.
"The MEMPHIS is still out there.....we still have a chance" She said.

Boyd stood up, and then ordered his troops to follow him. They marched slowly through the woods slowly, and silently, not a word was said. They rested fore the night in a structure that seemed to buried in the side of a mountian, the complex was massive, but to large to search. As he stood there ona ledge sticking out of the mountian, the sun slowly rose, and Boyd looked skyward agian. The feild of debri was refecting beams of light offf themselves, but nothing was large enough to be his ship. But then, the light hit something large and bulky drifting away from the feild. He took out his feild binoculars and looked at it.....his heart skipped a beat. The beaten and battered hull of the WASP floated end over end away from the ring, a large purple chunk of covenant hull, which seemed to have one of the engines was skewerd on the forward hull of the WASP. But her engines were dark, not under her own power. There was still a chance that there could be a victory after all.

"Leuteniant, come here" Boyd shouted.
A Tall lanky man came up and saluted him.
"Get this area set up for a permanant residence, I do hearby name this mountian the Cheyane Mountian complex..........UNSC headquarters for this operation" he ordered, the leutenant left hurridly and exicuted the orders. Then Boyd got on the radio

"To all UNSC forces, I have set up a base of operations, am attaching coordinates here....looks to me that the space battle is over,we better finish it down here. Link up with any others you can find and direct them here.....we have not yet begun to kick ass"

Cpl Harrison heard a familiar voice from the ship on the Radio. The message came in clear.

" Well, you heard him men. Ok, now lets look for any surviving UNSC Personell out here before we head to the Coordinates. " He ordered.

The Split up into two teams, one was Zulu ( OOC By the way, I am using the Military ABC ) and the other was November. They were divided into 5, Private McKelly led November, and Corporal Harrison led Zulu. Both teams looked within 1000 Feet of where they splat up. Zulu only found bodys of marines, learning that it was Squad 2. The bodies had cut marks, like from what happened to the Marine when he was killed by the Covenant with the Plasma Sword. Harrison picked up the Ammunitions and divided it up among his men. Everyone of Squad 2 was dead....he couldn't believe it. He blaimed him self at first, but then reminded him self not to have a guilty concious, for it could kill off his Squad. Harrison radioed McKelly and told him to move his team back to where they splat off. They met, regrouped, evened ammunitions, and headed to the Coordinates. On the way there, they found a dead recon of Marines, there were two Troop Transport Model Warthogs, and a Assault Warthog, there was even enough gas in there to drive them twice the distance of the Coordinates. The men finally got a chance to sit down, one man Volunteered to be the Gunner on the Assault Warthog, and 3 others Volunteered to drive the Warthogs. The men got in the Warthogs, Harrison into the Passenger seat of the Assault one. The Warthogs' engines revved up, and the men began there journey to the Coordinates.

Atleast a half hour had passed, and they could see debri of what sempt to be a UNSC Ship. No one worried much untill one of the Marines spotted a huge piece that said ' WASP ' on it. The men became worried.

They finally arived 10 minutes after spotting the Debri with WASP on it. There wern't many marines there. The 3 Warthogs stopped, and Harrison climbed out.

A small sniper team in the hills watched as the three warthogs neared there postion. Even if they didn't know that the snipers were there they would most likely end up catching sight of some of the other ODP and other marines that were deployed from the eagle dropships. "This is S-Alpha2 to Outpost Alpha1," the spotter whispered into the com system he carried on his pack. "This is Outpost Alpha1. What is it S-Alpha2?" "Three warthogs nearing the base perimeter. Only one apperes to have a turret on the back. The other two are troop transports." "Copy that. If they get any closer take out the 'hogs and not the troops in them. They're human to and we arn't gona hit them." "Copy that. S-Alpha2 out."

The lone AE commander swore under his breath. He had been advancing on a temple when he noticed the masing of covenant in the area. He was low on ammo and his luck wasn't getting any better. But as he looked up he witnessed a coveant cruiser impacting on the ring. "Just great," he muttered only seconds before the impact occured and the shockwave sent him to the ground.

On the Guardian'a bridge the crew staired in awe at the Wasp's sacrifice. "My god...," one of the officers muttered as he watched the effect of the suicide attack on the covenant cruiser.

A covenant ship flew slowly by the ring world. Inside a group a nervous elites paced as the ship veered to the left postitioning themself's above a large desert region in the ring world. The elite groups entered their desinated Phantoms. The movement was going smothly up untill the phantoms started up. Suddenly the phantoms exploded all but one that is. Elites who somehow lived were coming out of the phantoms and were welcomed by plasma fire and needlers. The groupd of elites who were nervous before were rebelling in the name of the heratich. The elites, led by an arbitor, entered the last phantom. A large groupd of Unggoy grunts came out and fired at the phantom but the leader the Sangheili Arbitor fired back with a BR55 Assualt Rifle he had stolen from the humans in his last charge. The phantom fired sevral blasts from the plasma cannon into the airlock doors. The doors blew open and the heratich group flew out firering into at the ship. The phantom made one go around the ship making sure that they new they have been betrayed. Then is flew down toward the ring world. The group of heratichs consisted of 2 Lekgolo hunters 4 Unggoy grunts 4 Sangheilli elites 4 Kig-yar Jackels and their leader the Sangheili Arbitor. 2 of the Sangheili's hold energy swords the other 2 have Covenant carbines the grunts all had Needler's and the Jackels all had Plasma Rifle's the hunters had the usual Fuel Rod gun and the arbitor had his Assualt rifle. They flew the phantom toward a large energy signal they got awhile back. This signal they were told would be the signal from their gods and they needed to follow this signal once they have arrived at the grouping position the attack can go on agenst the evil covenant's and their lying prophets. The arbitor lookedat his troops. He started to talk to his men.
"The prophets have lied to you...they only do what they think is right even if everyone knows its wrong. Will we sit back and let them lie to us well brothers." The groups yelled all together "NO."
The arbitor continued. "These ring worlds arnt great they are evil...it was the prophets who released the flood by sending us onto the god forsaken hell whole they called sacred land. The flood is now a major enemy and who do we have to blaim." Once again the groups yelled out alltogether "TH PROPHETS." The arbitor continued with his speech and the group listened and hung on every word. The phantom flew slowly toward the energy sorce but once they reached what they thought was a becon they got a shock from the large firebal in the sky. A human ship had collided with a covenant ship. The explosion had made a huge hail storm of debree fall onto the ring world's surface. The phantom slowed to a hovering stop in mid air. Thei watched the fire burn in the sky untill the last fireball fell to the ground. The heratich troops were disapointed to hear that the energy signal was not their brother heratich fighters but a human ship colliding with an enemy covenant ship. The group cheered for the fall of an enemy ship but they didn`t have long to rejoice. The phantom flew stait toward a base of humans a trasmission was sent to the base and hopfully they wouldn`t fire at them.

Worker Yana'mee were given the order and they began. They were deconstructing The Index...

"Capitain....can you hear me?" O'Neil heard through his sleep. He slowly opened his eyes and saw a woman in a white lab coat standing over him, he blinked. Was this heaven, it sure looked like the WASP's med bay.
"Where am I?" the capitain asked.
"The WASP's med bay sir, you are lucky to be alive, the ship crashed right into them, the entire front half if the ship was obliberated or became imbetted in a chunk of covenant ship on what is now our bow, there is no way we can fight.....we have also lost contact with the MEMPHIS. Sensors, weapons, engines, all of it down, we barely have life support" She told him.
He slowly sat up.
The room had only one working light, and it was full of people being treated fro their wounds. He then stood up.
"How many?" He asked.
"About 200 survived sir, everybody from the command deck are dead except you"She said.
An engineer walked up and saluted him.
"Sir, I'm trying to get some kind of movement working, but the engines are shot to hell" He said.
"Get them working as soon as you can. And try to get the comms up, we have people on that ring " O'Neil replied, rubbing his bandaged head.

*CHEYENEE MOUNTIAN COMPLEX*
Boyd stood there in awe, hundreds of tropps were flooding in at a constant stream. Tanks, warthogs, transports, captured enemy vehicles, the mountian began to bristle to with weaponry. The large contingent from the MEMPHIS rolled in in front of him, with them, more tanks, and transports. The mountian was becoming a city, med bays, supplies were abundant, bunkrooms, he was in charge of all of it. Off in the distance, Boyd could see a dust cloud rise, only to see several more Warthogs roll up, packed full of UNSC personell. He turnrd to look up on a hill to left, he saw something odd, but didn't say anything, this whole ringworld was odd, so he let it go for the moment.
A marine walked up to him.
"sir, we are picking up a transmission from an incomming Phantom, it say's they are aginst the covenant and are lead by the Arbitor" He annunced.
"let them land, and have a contingent of ODST's to meet them, just in case" Boyd said, he then walked up to the upcoming Warthog.
"Welcome to Cheyenee, what is the situation behind you?" He asked.

THe phantom came in slowly and stopped above a large ptach of open land. It lowered down slowly turning to the left a bit. The plasma cannons started to receed inside open bays. Then once the cannons were shut inside the bays landing gear opened up 1 in front and 2 in back. The phantom landed carfully and the heratich's inside started to pour out led by the arbitor. The arbitor looked around at the human base.
"Eh not much of a sight compared to covenant camps but this will have to do." People around the camp stared at the covenants and from the heratich's POV they seemed to wonder why no one was firing at them. The hunters stood at each side of the arbitor left and right. The grunts were playing around and laughing at each other. The jackels were messing with their sheilds. and the 4 elite's just stoop their and waited for contact by human's.

Corporal Harrison was greeted by the Colonel incharge of the base. He was asked about what the situation was behind him.

" 3 Men down. I have prepared a list for you. " Harrison said. He gave him the list plus a report of what had happened.

Private First Class LeBleu, Medic, Died upon crashing.
Private McKellen, Infantry, Died of Plasma Grenade.
Private First Class Nikoley'ch, Died of Plasma Sword.

The report was as followed:

Upon entering Halo Airspace, we were fired upon by Covenant Anti Air turrets. Our Pellican lost control, and I took the pilot seet trying to keep it steered into our Objective. We had landed in a Beach Area with Lush Jungle, there we announced LeBleu dead, no Pulse, no Breath, no movement of the slightest bit. I had LeBleu put into the Pellican and air locked it, so his body wouldn't be tampered with and probably find its way home on Earth. I formed up the remaining men and led them through the Jungle. No opposition was found, but upon exiting the Jungle, a Grunt hiding in a brush through a Plasma Grenade, which was the death of McKellen. We opened fire, leaving the Grunt rittled with holes and blood. After that, we reformed and headed to the Vecinity of Squad 2. There, we met a fire fight with Flood. On of our guys was injured, not severly, but a minor burn from a Plasma bolt. Shortly after the fight, we walked around looking for Squad 2. Squad 2 was no where to be found, and thats when the Elite with the Plasma sword appeared. He was using his Stealth generator, and so we could not notice him. He had gutted Nikoley'ch in half. The Elite had managed to run around and when I turned, I could see a ' Heat Wave '. I soon realized it was in the shape of a Humanoid, and only then when he turned on his Plasma blade again, I attacked it. I unloaded a clip into his face, and thats when we recieved your Radio Message. We divided into 2 teams of 5 before we headed to you, and my team managed to find the 3 Warthogs that we rode here, and bodys of a Recon squad, and we were lucky to find ammunitions. We met up with the other team, and all got in the Warthogs. And now, here we are.

That was the report basically, Harrison waited as the Colonel read it to calculate a answer for Harrison.

Boyd stood there for a moment to take in the information.
"Okay corpral, have your men take those vehicles into vehicle bay three, I know this place is all underground, but it give us some protection from the covies when they come. There's a breifing in twenty mimuets, I want you there, untill then, get a shower in and make sure your men get some rest" Boyd said.
Another soilder ran up and saluted him.
"Sir, covie dropship has landed on the rear landing pad, the ODST's are ready to move out" The man said.
Colonel Boyd and the soilder ran into the mountian and followed several passageways, all of then leading up. They finally came to a hallway filled with ODST's, they were in their costomary black armour and armed to the teeth.
Boyd stepped out of the doorway, the troops followed him, they came apona band of Covenant, with at least one of each kind, standing there ina group. Boyd nervously fiddled with his holster for his pistol. He stopped in front of the group, his troops taking positions around the ship.
"Welcome, I hear you wanted to help us. Well here's the ground rules, don't become agressive with us and we won't make your brains come out the back of your skull. Coprenday. Now I will have these men back up, and then we are going to go for a little stroll" Boyd said sternly as he glared at them. His blonde hair being tassled in the bitter wind. He scratched the scar on the side of his face which he had gotten from an Elite on REACH, he didn't know what to think of these covenant, but he was getting pretty desperate.
"Now, if you are going to help Arbitor, we have a breifing in twenty minuets, bring whomever you like, but you are going to have to take orders, we are all here to do the same thing"

Oro'mee seemed to be shocked at what he was reading in his holo-display back in Demon's Bane. He had, in fact, dismissed his subordinates so that he could seethe with the news privately.

Heretic?! He had made the work of the Covenant the meaning for his life! How could he be considered a heretic?

He had fragments of reports from his various sources, including what his AI had managed to piece together from the various battle nets operating on and above Halo.

"Holy tool!" snapped Oro'mee, clicking his hooves against the floor. The Construct, as usual, flickered into being at the projector. "Noble one?" it chimed. Oro'mee's relationship with HIS construct was, fortunately, slightly better than average.

"Record voice dictation for Ship Master 'Rolamee, most sacred of security classifications." he instructed, then paused for a moment before continuing. "To the most honorable 'Rolamee. I am myself not entirely certain of the situation on High Charity. However, judging from the fact that the Parasite has landed on this ringworld of late, I do not believe that it is out of the question that it also landed in High Charity. If this is indeed the case, then I fear for our holy city if the Flood landed in significant numbers. I am further convinced of this matter by the fact that High Charity has not responded to any of my distress signals.

Indirectly, this would also confirm what I already know to be true; our Jiralhanae allies have betrayed us, potentially weakening our defenses in High Charity. Whether you believe me or not, honored brother, beware of my SHIP, for the Brutes have taken control of it, and I do not believe they would hesitate to fire on you if they could ensure the safety of the ring."

Harrison sighed, he thought he would get some sort of reward for keeping his men organized and most of them alive, especially since he is just a Corporal meaning he isn't supposed to be leading a Squad. But oh was well, he was able to breathe and move, and fight of course. He ordered his men to take a 20 minute break, and asked for 3 of them to park the Warthogs in vehicle bay 3. After that, he decided to give him self a break. 20 minutes to rest, could take a shower and probably get some new gear if any, and something to eat. Harrison found the person in charge of bunkings, well apparently in charge of bunkings. He got a assigned bunk. He felt a bit lucky, the Squad leaders got bunks in the buildings, the men shared Tents outside. When he arrived at his bunk ( OOC btw bunk as in room ) he took off his armor. He realized this now, that he was wearing all grey clothing and cromish armor. He would ask for Forest Camo whenever the time would allow it. He grabbed a Towel, he decided to just watch his face though, and hair. He found a hose fed sink and turned it on, and started to wash his face. It felt great to get nice cool water on his face. After he was done, he headed back to his bunk with about 14 Minutes to spare. He threw the towel on a table and grabbed his armor. He put it back on, better then carrying it by hand. He carried his helmet at his side, and walked to the nearest Armory. He spoke with a desk man and managed to trade his old Assault Rifle for a BR55 Rifle, and traded in his old Pistol for a M6C Pistol, and picked up 3 More M9 HE-DP Fragmentation Grenades. After that, he holtsered the Pistol and strapped the Rifle around his neck, slung on his back, and clipped the Grenades at his belt. He started asking around for info on the Covenant, like if there was a Manual he could read so he could Familiarize the enemy. Most just said " Shoot anything thats not Human. " , but of course that wasn't a smart idea, well Harrison thought to him self. He managed to get some Documents on the Covenant though, from a Master Sergeant who really didn't need them anymore. Now with 8 Minutes to spare, Harrison was skimming through the Documents on the way to the Briefing room. These Documents were a big grab for Harrison, they included information on Covenant Weaponry and Covenant Humanoids, even how to defeat them, well only some. He finally learned the name for some commonly heard words like ' Hunter and Grunt ' realizing that the Hunter was Lekgolo and the Grunt was Unggoy. Harrison was quite proud he got his hands on these, and decided to keep them with him on the field. He folded them up and put them in a pouch on his belt. Now, 6 Minutes left, Harrison was at the Briefing. No site of any of his men from his squad.

At the now growing base drop ships continued to land and deposit equipment while small search partys mostly led by spec ops started out to map the area for the main 'Overlord' AI.
Only about three kilometers from the main UNSC complex one of the scout teams were resting, arguing and setting up an uplink to the base camp (there own camp.) "Damnit sarge do we have to do this on foot and not call in for a hog or a Deathclaw?," one of the black armored marines asked the squad leader as he sat leaned against a tree his XR-30 resting at his side. "We have to do this on foot becasue a hog or a deathclaw would simply alert any enemy forces in the area that we are here and most likely they get to send us home in body bags. Or even better they get to send home our plasma chared 'tags," came the sargents respons, "Lets move out ladys." At that point the small five man squad began to slowly press onwards unknowingly towards the UNSC base.

*UNSC LIGHT CRUISER WASP*
The captian stood in the newly created battle bridge, with a brand new bridge crew. He felt nervous as he looked at the forward screen which showed the ring. The ship had spent hours spinning around, dead in space. Now that some repairs had been made, they were just about to start up the power, there was a 50% chance the ship would explode but he had work to do and he was willing to risk it. He walked up to the helm and put his hand on the back of the helmsmans chair.
"Time to go, power her up, three percent power" O'Neil ordered.
The helmsman acknoledged the order and hit some keys on his console.
The lights came on to a bright red, the ship was still at battle alert, so the klaxons popped back on agian.
"Sir, sensors are picking up IFF signals comming from the surface in the southern mountians. the battlenet up here is messed up, it would be esier to clean up if we had an AI." The comms officer announced.
"What about in space, anything there" O'Neil asked.
"No UNSC or covenant ships, the MEMPHIS is gone, but the only wrekage is from us so I guess she enactecd the cole protocol" The tacticle officer responded.
"Well can we send a message to colonel Boyd?" The capitian asked.
"No sir, not unless we are right on top of them" The comms officer anounced.
"Well let's do it, bring us down to their position and arm the remaining archer missile pods, get our undamaged MAC cannon online" He ordered.
"but sir, that'll be like going down to hell, the ship is barely holding together as it is" The wepons officer argued.
"Well, to hell with us, power the eingines, 30% thrust"
The WASP's engines flared to life, and stablized the ship and it began to head towards the mountian. As the WASP began to enter the rings atmosphere, she brgan to shake hard. Sparks exploded from a console to the capitains left.
"She's not going to make it sir!" The NAV officer yelled.
"Steady on course.....BALLS TO THE WALLS BOYS, this is going to be bumpy!" The capitian yelled in response.
" I RESENT THAT!" The woman working life support yelled over the groaning of the ship.

*ON THE SURFACE*
Two privates on patrol in the wrekage feild were looking at a small group of black suited soilders resting, he was about to call it in when he suddenly heard a large rumbling sound. He ignored it at first and watched the group get up and begin to move. He then looked up. There was a large billowy stream comming down towards the mountian. Then suddenly the cloud dissapated and revealed a UNSC cruiser witha large chunk of covenant ship stuck to her bow glide slowly towards the mountian. The ship was shot to peices, he could hardly beleiv that the ship could even do what it was doing.
"Oh my god...." His buddy gasped as he spotted the port side nameplate with his binoculars.

" Oh my God...this can't be possible " Harrison said in his head.

*BREIFING ROOM, UNSC HEADQURTERS ON HALO*
Colonel Boyd walked into the breifing room followed by the unit commanders from all the troops from the UNSC on the ring. He stood there at the table that had been set up in the room. Boyd thought what the room had been used for back when the forerunners were still managing these rings. Harrision was standing at the table, but his gaze went from the table to the open hatch in the side of the mountain. The unit commanders stood around the table and looked at the colonel.
"Now here's the plan, we need to destroy this ring, the flood hold strong keypoints here and here"Boyd said as he pointed his finger at two points on the roughly drawn map of the general area. "Aphroidite, this map is not exactly accurate, can you show us"
Boyd pulled a chip out of his helmet and inputted it into a console of forerunner technology. Aphrodite, the WASP's AI appered on the table and behind her a 3D map blinked into exsistance. Two NAV points appeared blinking red on the map.
"The flood have these positions, unfortinatly, this one is the library, where the construct is. We need to get in there and get that construct so that the flood, or the covenant cannot activate the ring. This other position, we attempted to take before but we were unprepared for what we were up aginst. We have to get ther and place a SHIVA nuclear weapon there where a chain reaction will destroy the ring and all the covies on it" Aphrodite.
"Are you not aware that the WASP is floating above this mountian" Said a seargent.
The crowd in the back parted and let in a small group of people into the already crowded room.
"Capitian on deck!" Snapped a private.
The troops inn the room snapped to attention and saluted capitian O'Neil.
"At ease, and I do beleive the colonel is quite aware of the WASP's return from the dead" The capitain said as the group went to a more relaxed position. "Souds like a good plan, the WASP can give some cover fire at this point, it puts us in a point where we can give you cover at both points. I suggest an exstraction point here" Boyd said as he pointed at a point imbetween the two points.
"Good to see you Capitian" Aphrodite said.
"You to babycakes" The capitian replied, several soilders chuckled at the captians sense of humor. "Let' s see the covenant positions on the ring"
"right here, the largest seems to be a large collection of troops from both ships" She said as several more markers appeared.
"Okay, here's how it's going to go down. Harrision, you did a good job getting you troops here to the mountian, I am promoting you to Master Seargent and I want you to lead your troops to retreive the construct where you will then link up with colonel Boyd and his men as they secure the SHIVA position. Meanwhile, the reamainder of us will evacuate to the WASP, it will take a while so be carefull, we can't handle mistakes" The capitain said"Oh, Harrision, take Seargent Reed, you're old CO, he's highly experienced"
"Don't worry about the Arbitor, I'm going to inform him of this right after the meeting" Boyd said. "Dissmissed, you all know you're tasks"
The room began to drain of people untill it was empty. Boyd turned to face O'Neil.
"What if we run into the Covies on the way, what if we fail?" Boyd asked.
"We'll cross that bridge when we get there" He responded.
"You better, or I'll have no one to keep me company" Aphrodite chimed.

*WREKAGE FEILD*
The private who had noticed the ship slowly turned to see that the group of soilders. One of them was radioing something in. He lowered his Assult rifle and pulled the trigger. The three bullets blew through the radio. All around the are other troops that had been searching troung the wrakage heard it and rushed into the area and set up a ring around the soilders, snipers took up positions. A seargent walked up and looked over a rock at the soilders.
"Okay, identify yourselves, we come in peace, if you are human, we both have the same enemy on this ring and I suggest that you come peacefully with us and have a littke talk with the colonel" He shouted.

Boyd strode up to the ring of troops he took up position. The troops standing in the center looked famillier, like the ones him and his squad saw from the trench. They wern't UNSC, but they were human. He figured he should at least try to talk to them.
"This is colonel Boyd, I'm in charge here.Sorry to have spooked you fellas, but the covenant are all around out here and you can see that we had to prevent them from finding our position untill we were ready. Now I know this is spur of the moment, but we are willing to propose an alliance aginst thye covenant, that way we don't have to sneak around each other. Now I'm going to walk calmly out there and I'm comming in peace, we can talk nicely, no need for violence, it's just too messy"Boyd yelled to them as he slowly walked around the rock he had been standing next to, he unclipped his holster, just in case he needed it."Now I know you boy's are not UNSC, or you wouldn't of been sneaking around our positions"

One of them was reativly kind enough to supply us with his ID before he decided to bite the bullet. I'm hoping that it will work right now," the commander replied as he still held the rifle at the ready but seemed friendly enough.

OCC:The stealth ship was an ONI ship that one of the AEN cruisers found driffting in a wreakage feild with two people alive. All we have to do is accecess the covenant archives luckly we have one of their computers on this phantom." The grunt ran out yelling curse words in the covenant thouge. The arbitor looked at him an asked him what was the matter. He looked back. "Well we`ll have to hack the system hopfully we wont be detected cause if so they could get our position." The grunt ran back inside and started the hacking.

" ARE YOU CRAZY, TELL HIM TO STOP. If we do this with out command saying its ok, my ass can be seriously grounded. And your brains would probably find its exit out the back of your heads. " Harrison said, freaked out.

The grunt inside hacked the covenant system easily and started to work finding the maps. No detection so far and the grunt seemed calm. Outside the arbitor answered still calm. "Yeah thats pretty much it....dont worry the grunts in the system by now and is probly already on the trank to the maps. we got no problems." The grunt who was interrested in the cig ran up and took it quickly from the marine then ran behind a rock. He looked at it curously.

The marine's eyes went wide, and he chased the Grunt. He confronted him behind the rock, and the Grunt sat there just toying with it, curiously. So the Marine took it from the Grunt fastly, and lit it, telling the grunt to put it between his lips and breethe in.

It was funny to watch and listen to the Grunt cough.

"Ok sargent I've given us a chance to mingle with the UNSC personel without them knowing exactly who we are," he said over the squad com as he walked. Boyd slowly led the band of black suited soilders up a trial up the side of the mountian instead of through it, which would have been much esier than hiking, but he still didn't trust these newcommers. He didn't want to tip his hand on how many troops were acctually in the mountian. They stopped at the landing pad in the back that was shadowed by the WASP hovering high above. Pelicans were comming and going constantly, picking up nonessential personell a dn taking them to the ship for evacuatuation. A small table had been set up with some food and Boyd sat down and began to eat, he motioned the others to do so. Behind him a platoon of marines came out of a hidden door in the mountian that he was sure the new commers did not know about. The marines began to form up next to a pelican and a sergent began screaming at them. They all saluted him and got into the pelican and the pelican took off and flew towards the ship. Boyd hoped that his guests didn't see the UNSC troops getting ready for a major offensive. Vehicles and troops were moving in every direction hurriedly, so Boyd figured that they might find out. He looked at the soilders.
"I'll tell you what's going on, we are preparing to blow this ring, and if our plan succedes, this ring, and all the covenant and flood will be going uo with it, so I want tomake sure that you're people are rady to get the hell out of here in a moments notice, cause this place will be lighting uplike a christmas tree" Boyd said.
He let it sink in for a moment, and then had the black suited soilders escorted down the mountian the same way they came up, back to the wrekage feild, this time though, the patrols had dispersed and gone back to patrolling.
Boyd, in the meantime walked down into the mountian and gathered his troops. He got in a Warthog and stood up in the passenger seat.
"Okay, here we go, no stopping this mess now." Boyd announced.
The large caravan of twenty Scorpions, 35 warthogs and about 3000 marines set out for thier mission. Nothing was going to stop this now.

OOC: What do you mean? Sware words?

IC:
On board the Undying Anger:
‘Rolamee was torn, Take the tratoirs word, and risk being betrayed, or, believe him, and recapture this ring….

The AI spoke, it’s voice full of anger and impatience, “We have to kill the heretics NOW, we cannot wait the…”

It stopped mid sentence and faded from view, ‘Rolamee had pulled the plug on it, “I have had enough of your ceasless talk artifact. He pressed the message icon and sent a response back to Oro’mee:

If high charity has fallen, then we must work to perform the great journey, with or without the prophets.

“Shipmaster, what has happened hear, beside the obvious”, a large group of elites, the ones from the banshees, had reached the ship.

“A human vessel, performed a suicidal action and nearly destroyed us, we then crashed here, remember those “heretics”, we are going to help them, for we are going to begin the great journey.”

“Do the prophets know of this? Have you told the council of this?” One loyal sangheili said, worried.

“Would you risk the destruction of this sacred ring? Look around you, we have no means of long range communication, so we could wait for several days, by that time, the battle for the ring would be decided, and if it was lost, everyone would be skewered, but, if we capture this ring and begin the great journey, we would be the foremost amongst all the covenant, are you willing to let that pass by?”

The sangheili lowered his head, what the shipmaster said was true.

“It is time for us to make our move, we shall proceed to the library, and cleanse any sharquoi in our way, now mount up, and prepare yourselves for the one of the most important campaign in the covenant.”

He sent orders to other high-ranking elites, who sent the orders down the chain of command.

“My fellow brethren, I am sorry that I cannot join you, I must stay here and ensure that the enemy does not take this ship, but fear not, you are being led by a honorable and savage commander” ‘Rolamee was talking through all the covenant’s communicators, relaying his message to any from the Undying Anger. “Now go, and prove yourselves to the covenant.”

The end of this message was followed by the whirring of covenant plasma engines, from out of the vehicle bays came ten shadows, followed by three wraith tanks, to be a skirmishing force and scouts, the twenty banshees and twenty-five ghosts were assigned, providing further mobile transport and weapons, five specters acted as a rapid response group, several fiends and phantoms were filled and ready to take off if the convoy called. The ground forces began their journey to the library….

Boyd was interrupted unexpectedly by a cheerful, effusive voice from above.

"I'm afraid that is out of the question."

A small, spherical levitating device that glowed with a rich green aura descended into view, looking like some large, flying eyeball.

"I am 16807 Observant Acute. I am the Monitor of Installation Six. It is my responsibility to contain this outbreak of the Flood before it can leave this installation again. Pursuant to that responsibility, I'm afraid I can't allow you to damage it, since the facility must be operational for a Reclaimer to execute their task."

The little AI turned in midair to regard the Sentinels as they rose from behind the hills to flank the human detachment. "Defend the facility. Save one for study." Observant Acute instructed the other machines, then disappeared in a flash of teleportation particles.

The Sentinels opened fire with their particle beams.

Ship Master Oro'mee was having difficulties of his own, but he was well aware that the future of the Covenant was on the line. Charges of heresy or no, he had to help the Covenant retrieve the Index. It would be even more critically important now that High Charity had apparently fallen to the Parasite.

At Oro'mee's command, almost all available assault forces left over from the evacuation of his ship gathered together. Half a dozen Wraith mortar tanks formed the iron heart of Oro'mee's strike force. Transports, Ghosts, Banshees, the bulk of his armored strength.

"Holy warriors of the Covenant!" he roared from the promontory. "Our entry into the great beyond is within our grasp! The Great Journey is nigh, and we have but to stretch forth our hands and grasp it. We go forth now to crush our enemies, join our brothers in the drive on the Library, and take the first steps to Paradise!"

Twenty minutes later, the bulk of the Covenant forces under Oro'mee's command set out with him in the vanguard. They would kill the humans, destroy the Parasite, and win honor and glory for themselves. But a handful of troops were left behind to defend Demon's Bane.

Boyd's convoy slowly came to a long slope going down into a deep mountian canyon. This is where he would have to plant the bomb, he would have to go to the end of the canyon and plant it in the deepest area on the ring. He paused his Warthog at the top of the slope and took out binoculars. Down Below, he saw a convoy of covenant vehicles moving towards him. It consisited of 8 wraiths, 14 gohsts, and 6 specters. They were all moving uphill towards them.. He motinoined the Scorpions to take up position on his flanks and cram as many Warthogs as he could imbeteen them. It was an effective roadblock.
"What should we do?" Asked a PFC.
"I don't know, they might not even see us" A reply came over the intercom.
A blue ball of plasma arched it's way over to the marines, but it flew harmlessly overhead and made contact with a boulder.
"Hold fire untill I say" Boyd ordered.
The covenant convoy moved closer and closer. Now the marines were taking fire, but even as plasma daced across a nearby tank, they did not flinch. They were well trained and battle hardened. The covenant continued uphill, they were almost at point blank range. Just a little closer.
"NOW! FEED THEM THE GOOD STUFF!" Boyd shouted.
The scorpions opened fire with both their main cannons and their machine guns, mini MAC rounds came from the new Warthogs, and still yet more gunfire from the other Warthogs, not to mention the missiles and small arms fire. Instantly, all of the Wraiths were smoking rubble, mostly all of the gohts were knocked out or limping away, and all the Specters were destroyed. Cheers erupted from the Marines, it was a great victory.
The convoy began to move agian, deeper into the canyon. Boyd had a bad feeling about this, he radioed the WASP before they lost contact.

*UNSC LIGHT CRUSIER WASP*
"Sir, entering the canyon, we will be out before you know it" Boyd's voice crackled over the intercom.
"We won't be able to cover you while you are in there, be carefull" O'Neil said.
"And now we walk into the valley of death and I fear no evil because I'm the biggest, baddest SOB around......aknowledged WASP" boyds voince came back, them blinked out.
The capitain chuckled at the Colonel's humor in the face of such odds. O'Neil turned to face The ships AI which was working on something.
"Aphrodite, tell MC Harrision that Boyd is getting into position and will be awaiting the news of the retrevail of the construct so that we will be able to blow this joint" O'Neil ordered.

The tanks fired of shell after shell into the smoke and as the loud shots rang throught squad the Arbitor and his hunters dissapeared. The tanks kept firing then suddenly stoped as sounds of covenant screaming could be heard at high pitched sounds. I seemed the Arbitor had taken 2 other elites with him along with the hunters. The arbitor and his elites had energy swords and were attacking the covie's who were still alive. The hunters were bulldozing through the covies as the elites did this. Harrison sighed..." Show offs.. " He then checked the maps and realized they were verry close. He got out of his Warthog and walked on top of a hill and looked beyond the fields with his binoculars. He could see a large, wierd structure with a inlet inside the mountain. He also saw quite a few Covenant at the turrets and with carbines and many anti vehicular weaponry.

Harrison ordered his squad to make sniping teams, and even ordered some grunts to snipe. There was 3 Sniping teams, 1 Grunt Sniper and a spotter and 2 Human Snipers and 2 spotters. Now there was 7 Marines on the assault, and 2 less Grunts on the assault for the Arbiter.

He ordered the snipers to start picking off every single head they saw bobbing around, and ever turret. Gun shots could be heard, countless shots. One of the Human snipers was shot right in the unguarded part of his head, the face. He lay there some how alive and screaming, and his spotter couldn't let him live in agony. He pulled out his pistol and unloaded 3 bullets into the Marine's face, putting him at ease. Harrison ran to the sniper rifle laying idle at the rock, he picked it up, looked into the scope, and unloaded the 4 Bullets in the clip. He took out a turret, but immediatly after the 4th shot, he was shot in his right arm, causing him to drop the rifle. The spotter relieved Harrison by taking the sniper and continuing to snipe out the Covie defences. Harrison walked to his warthog, clamping his wound. He opened a small box in the Warthog with his left hand and ordered a marine to wrap a bandage tightly around the wound. Thank god the Covie didn't use bullets, no pliers will be needed. After it was tied, Harrison's snipers came to him, telling him that the job was done. Harrison had 1 Sniper team stay, Mariens of course, and gathered everyone else. They got back in there vehicles. Harrison radioed the Arbiter " Get moving, or we'll beat you there. "

With that, the three warthogs revved up there engines and started twards there objective, which was not even 4 minutes to get there.

Do you know if you have any Pellicans around? If so, we would deeply appreciate some medical supplies and some ammunition. The phantom flew up ahead toward the intrance. The arbitor inside told the grunt to drop the tank. The clamps opened and the tank fell and landed without a scratch. The arbitor and his team droped down and charged forward. 14 of them in all. They fired human guns, battle rifles, smg's, and 2 grunts had duel magnums. The attack went on with a loud reply of gun fire in the air. The shots could be heard by everyone in the imeadiate area including the humans they left behind. 1 Grunt moved out from the rock he was taking cover behind. Within the second he got hit 3 times once in the gut and once in the head. The arbitor sent out a jackel to recover the body. The jackel held up his sword as plasma fire hit it making it weaker and weaker. The jacket fell before the grunt and died from a plasma wound to the upper left shoulder. It was a masscre for the enemy. The arbitor and his group fired without stop and while that was going on 2 elites pulled out their swords and jumped a groupd of the enemy. It had to end soon but they didn`t know if the enemy had reinforcments or not. The elites with the swords fought hard on the other side but 1 ened up dead by the hands of their own teams gunfire the other escaped before getting hit. *DROPSHIP THETA*
"Okay you greenhorns, our troops need a little help. So get ready, we're jumping into the frying pan!" The seargent yelled at his marines.
The Pelican was jammed packed with marines, the sound of them loading their weapons and putting extra armour on. Out of the twelve on board, six were clad in black armour, they were ODST's, and they had been fighting on this ring since the whole thing had started. they were pissed, and wanted some payback. The seargent went into the cockpit and looked to the right. Another pelican flew in formation next to them along with Longsword Alpha one. The other pelican was jammed to the brim with weapons, medical supplies, and six more ODST's. Both pelicans were toteing something rather different, Scorpion MK. 2's, they had more firepower and had a bit more speed, and were painted black. On the left track cover was a painted on wasp attacking a covenant crusier. The seargent hit the intercom.
"Harrison, hold on, two Pelicans inbound, we brought a little bit of goodies. The capitian has a plan to soften the enemy's defences, Aphrodite will have more information when it happens"

*UNSC WASP*
"Prepare to fire" the capitain ordered.
"What?" the weapons officer asked.
"The MAC" he replied.
"Sir?" she asked.
"do it" he ordered.
"MAC fireing sir" She replied.
"MS Harrision, the capitian is fireing the ship's MAC" Ahprodite announced over the intercom.
The ship shuddered as the round came out of the barrel and plowed into the structure, ripping the lower structure to shreds, almost the entire structre crumbled down except the area around the main enterance. aphridite scanned the area agian. She found something very facinating.
"MS, the structure is only the enterance to the complex, I'm picking up a power signiture deep within that mountain, you'll find the constuct there, good luck" Aphrodite added.

" Jesus, I asked for some weapons. But I only get the best of weaponry and the best of UNSC....Now thats service. " Harrison thought to himself. As he was about to reply to the Sarge, Aphrodite radioed him as the WASPs beam pummled into the structure.

" Got it Aphrodite, oh and thank the captain for my early birthday present. " He said with a chuckle.

" Sarge, good to hear your bringing some treats to this party. Now remember, there are some friendly covie being lead by a Arbiter who well goes by Arbiter. They ran off twards the structure, and should have been inside before the WASP took a wiz on the structure. Anyways, glad to see you are bringing some more guests to the party, well all I can say is have fun, but don't get too excited. " Harrison was smiling looking twards the WASP watching the small specs in the sky grow bigger and bigger as they approached Harrison's squad.

" Arbiter, can you hear me? " Harrison asked through his comms link. " God dammit, did he leave his comms link in the tank? " Harrison thought to him self.

The arbitor and his group which totaled 12 now charged the entrance. The enemy's force had been weakend and with the constant fuel rod fire from the hunters, who kept their guns, the cover fire was taken care of. They were in mid charge when the MAC fire hit the building but it didn`t faze them even though a lagre chunk of the building langed on and crushed a grunt. Once they reached the entrance they were down to 11 1 grunt 3 jackels 4 elites 2 hunters and the arbitor himself. "Sir, we're too heavily loaded to fly that fast"The pilot argued.
The seargent effectively removed the pilot from the seat and replaced him at the controls. He hit the gas and he groaned as the pelican lurched forward. He hit the intercom.
"All right you suckers, lets go worm burning"He yelled.
His pelican dipped into a steep dive and he fought it to recover when he got close to the ground. His pelican pulled up and he flew fast and low at treetop level. The other pelican did the same, followed by the Longsword.
"Harrision, ETA two minuets, comming in on your left, you better keep you heads down, we are comming in hot!" The seargent announced loudly over the intercom.

About 4,571,234,780,012,543.34 miles away in slipspace, the UNSC cruiser Demasi lurched as the third engine drive flashed and short circuited. The ship had entered slipspace when Reach fell and according to Cole Proticol, made a random jump. They had exited slipspace several times and each time, encountered at least five Covenant ships. This last jump was a lucky one. They had followed a Covenant vessel in hope that the ship was headed to a battle or some action were the UNSC might still be. This was the only way they could do what they did without violating the Cole Proticol.
The ship had been through hell but the crew, had been through ten times worse.

On the bridge of the ship, Captain Summer and the highest ranking marine officer, a Leutennant converesed with their AI Cassandria, on their next move.
"I think all we need to do is follow this ship, and if we guessed wrong, we jump again."
"With respect Captain," Lt Estevan Mc Cann said "I don't think this ship will stand another jump. We only have so much power left not to mention we lost engine three just now leaving us with 2/5 of the power we originally had."
The Captain sighed, "This ship and I have been to hell and back and like your marines," He paused. They had lost more than half of the marines onboard and the surviving ones were tired as hell. He had to chose the right words to say what he felt. He couldn't have enemies within his ranks. "And like your marines I put faith in my ship as they do you. I strongly believe the ship will hold out for at least one more jump."
"Sir the Leutennant is right." Cassandria said in a soothing and calm tone. "Despite your faith in this ship, the chances of surviving another jump are very slim. We best hope this ship leads us to help."
The Captain turned to face the window showing the blue swirling vortex that is slipspace. "Well I guess we'll find out were we're going soon enough.

Little did they know, they were on a course straight to Harrison, the Arbiter, and just about all the combat they could handle.

The flood had attacked and they feared when the elevator stopped more flood would attack. It seemed this would be the only rest time they had left. The elevator made its way down slowly and the team watched out of the window as covenants were fighting the flood. The covenants had gotten their first and they wernt only trying to fight us off they were trying to garud the fight with the flood. Now they would have more then the flood to deal with. The elevator landed. The doors opened. Suddenly a burst of fire shot into the elevator the group charged forward into the gunfire. The two hunters charged forward with their sheilds held up. The hunters fuel rods fired crashing into large patches of covenants.
"OPEN FIRE OPEN FIRE DONT LET UP....Elite hurry up with that transmission we have to get reinforcements down here. You Jul'kil get over behind that crate and fire your fuel rod at the flood as Holik fires at the prophets children. Dont let up."

IC:
The Elites were known for their ferocious attitude towards never giving up to an enemy, and the one laying down a suppressing fire from a battle rifle while standing next to the arbitor didn't show any signs of stopping until all the enemy were destroyed...

5 clips later, the battle was still raging as he tossed the empty rifle away, and with a battlycry, leapt into the turmoil, energy sword at the ready, slashing, not randomly, but expert strikes that sent enemies flying through the air. As the flood drew close, he retreated back to the others, taking one of the SMGs from another elite, and firing on.

The three Elites conversed in covenent for a moment, then they all took out plasma grenades, threw them into the fray and hid behind some boxes.

After the explosion, the leader told the other sword wielding elite to charge with him, the other one stayed behind to defend the back position from being overrun and the arbitor from being followed.

As the fighting when on, the Elite commander noticed his comrade go down in a hail of plasma. He angrily picked up two plasma rifles and let loose his fury on any enemy covenent in his range of vision, roaring a battle cry as he did, when the rifles over heated he threw them away and stared at the remaining enemies. Still to many to take on alone, where were the damn humans with their backup??? he slowly backed up and picked up a stray carbine and took a sniping position next to the other elite. They walked to the other Pellican, jammed pack with scads of ammunitions and enough weaponry to outfit the men.

" Wow, Christmas comes early here on the ring I guess. " Harrison said with a laugh.

" So, where the hell are those Cove's you brought with ya? " The Sarge asked.

" They decided to be show offs and headed in early. Comms cut out and the last comm I got was the Arbiter freaking out. Doesn't sound good. And I got a hunch we'll be climbing down the elevator shaft...heard some explosions. " Harrison said in response.

" Not to worry, we brought quite a lot of other stuff with the Ammunition. " The Sarge said.

Most of the enemy covenent was dead, from the flood or from the two elites, but as the commanding Elite stared out at the oncoming flood of, well flood, he knew there was only one thing to do. He began taking all their plasma grenades and was about to stick them to himself when the other elite grabbed his wrist and took them. The leader nodded and grasped his fellow soldiers hand, the suicide elite attached the grenades and ran towards the flood, who immediately tried to attack him, as soon as all the flood were surrounding him, the leader hit the button from behind cover. There was a massive flash and lots of disgusting noises, after the explosion waned, the leader got up and stared at the massive hole in the ground. It was at this point he realized his was exhausted, and fell to his knees, he fell unconcious, only hoping the Arbitor could complete the mission...

A young medic came running as a response of the Sargeant yelling. She and 2 ODSTs got him up. Harrison was ok, just a bit woozy and the blood loss was causing him to be a little weakend.

They took off the Bandage, and applied great pressure. His arm wouldn't stop bleeding. They discovered there was a verry small small whole in one of the minor arterys in his left arm, not severe enough to have his arm amputated. Since he would require surgery to stop the bleeding, a closing of the Artery, they would have to take him on one of the Pellicans and head back to the WASP asap. They rebandaged him, and sent him up alone in one of the Pellicans, being followed by Longsword Alpha One. And the second Pellican followed after unloading the cargo. Now incharge was Sergeant Reed, apointed to join the Squad to aid Harrison by Captain O'Neill. Reed rallied up the men, and had a total of 6 Stay and defend. The Sqaud size consisted of 24, excluding the 6 staying behind. They got prepped, and then loaded the rest of the Ammunition into one of the Transport Warthogs, and they marched to rest of the 2 Football field lengths to the structure. Apon arriving at the Entrance, they discovered Mike was right about the Elevator. They tied 3 cables securely to the parked Warthog. The men started going down three at a time, climbing against the wall with there weapons slung around there backs and pistols holstered, all the way down. Reed was the first one down with 2 ODSTs. They seemed to have stepped into the belly of the beast, seeing bodys of Covie and Flood every where. And then a unconcious body a little way out of the elevator door, and a hole in the wall, leading to another hallway. They woke up the unconcious Elite, awaiting a answer.

Suddenly 3 flood vessels ran in and tackled the hunter. They blew up and took the hunter with them. The arbitor opened fire on the small flood who came out of the vessels. The arbitor fired until his gun ran out of ammo then he pulled out his sword. He attacked like a madman and distroyed the enemy's. He stood in the middle of the room surrounded by dead flood and his dead friend. He looked around for an exit but the door he had entered through had been shut tight. Almost as one, all the ghosts, banshees, specters, and phantoms turned left and departed, only to regroup later on.

The covenant had made a temporary shelter inside a cave complex, thus protecting them from bombardment and detection.

“Okay, so far, we know that they have entered the library, for what purpose, unknown, but we are going to have to break in their, we must recover the sacred icon. ‘Rolamee said that they are okay, and have done as we have, the ship is now protected by the earth of this construct, so, it is time we go now.”

An out of breath elite, if there is such a thing (:)), rushed in. “Commander ‘Kasamee, we have found another entrance, it is underground, and was not damaged by the sharquoi vessel’s shot, it is wide enough to fit any of our holy vehicles, except of course the scarab, as for the other covenant under ‘Osomee (right spelling?). The Prophet of Death, and the other covenant sent to retrieve the prophet, we have no idea.”

That was until they found a small hole in the ceiling. Thirteen went through. They saw a Sangheili under them. One went farther and saw a group of sharquoi. They decided to attack them.

the elite put his ear to the door and heard the sound of the bombers, he quickly found an air duct, and crawled into it. He noticed floodlings had passed that way only a few minutes before...he heard gunfire from the humans direction, but he knew the arbitor was in danger.

He jumped out into the room the Arbitor was unconcious on, and fired a salvo of needles into the massive flood creature.

"Die!!!"

he fired with the magnum and needler until both were out of ammo, and turned to face the other enemies with his sword...

Turning back to the Arbiter. "Do you know how annoying those creatures are?"

Boyd nodded in agreement. He led his group down a series of long corridors slowly. They came to a large room from a side entrance. He saw the Arbite on his knees in amongst a large group of flood. In the background, Boyd saw the construct slowly float away through a doorway. He needed to get that object. He saw an oppertunity and had his men file out of the corridor and take up flanking positions apon the flood. They seemed to know what they were doing, he choose to reason with them.
"Hey folk's we come in peace, please lower you tendrils and weapons and there will be no trouble!" Boyd shouted.
A flood attack form launched itself at their position. It was shot from the sky.
" You know what, remember that we come in peace buisness, BITE ME!" Boyd yelled as he lept from behind his box and began to fire his shotgun rapidly. Several flood hit the dirt. Boyd raced amognst the group and grabbed the Arbiter by the arm and flung him aginst the wall. I the process of doing so, he dropped a primed grenade. It exploded in the middle of the group as Boyd flew and skidded to a halt near the Arbiter. Boyd's 50 marines began to lay down heavy fire as Boyd ripped the flood little ones from the Arbiters body.
"Hey, if you can get up, we have a party going on" Boyd said in what he thought was the Eleites ear.

he stared into the arbitors eyes as he thrashed through the flood and as the energy cannon tore through everything around him. He snarled and let loose a roar taking his energy sword and throwing it directing between the eyes of the great flood beast, overloading it first so it blew up on contact.

His arm broken by the blast and the flood attacking him, he leaned against a wall and used the useless empty magnum to fend them off a little bit longer...he suddenly saw the humans crash through to door, guns blazing...thank the gods, he thought, and fell, awaiting death.

Tracculks easily picked up Boyd and stared him in the eye. "We do not want to kill every single one of you." The attack from that had launched itself at the marines was brought before him. Well what was left of it.

Tracculks spoke. "You are a child of Gravemind and yet you do not follow an order? You must be an Undergod."

"Yes Tracculks. I am." A long grey tendril snaked out of Tracculks's armor and ripped the undergod in half.

Turning bakc to Boyd which he was still holding. "Stop killing my soldiers."

Boyd cringed as the creature spoke.
"Damn you're ugly, I bet your mother never read you bed time stories when you were a kid huh. No matter" Boyd said, obviously stalling. His men were pulling back, but he knew why, he had planned this to the second. Flood were following his men into the corridor. Boyd now looked down to see the Arbiter and his covie buddy laying on the ground.
Boyd heard a familier sound, the sound of an engine. Suddenly, a LAAV Warthog blew through the corridor, followed by marines. The warthog was splatterd with green goo. Mini MAC rounds flew through the air in many directions, marines were shooting at anything that moved.
"You know, I really love ya, but I got a ring to blow up" Boyd said as he pulled a small device out of his pocket."here's the deal, you let me go, and I won't push this little red button. Plus, I never really liked you fellas, all mushy and stuff. Kinda like JELLO, I don't like JELLO. Samuel Perry; smuggler, outlaw, thief, criminal. All around not a nice guy. I try to be though. Maybe I should've converted to Hinduism. Karma and all that. Cuz how the hell did I end up here?

The same dream kept playing in his subconcious mind. Taking that "mystery cargo" job from that character that was clearly ONI. Should've known better than to deal with ONI. From there being captured by a covie cruiser along the way. The dream fast forwarded through the week of torture and misery he spent in their "brig". Then, explosions and fighting everywhere, and Sam being hauled onto a phantom. Surrounded by elites and grunts he could feel the vessel entering atmosphere...then nothing.

That dream had been playing over and over in his mind for almost twelve hours. This time however, Sam woke up.

"Uhhhh" Where am I? Sam's vision and sense of smell quickly came into focus on the corpses of the elites and grunts around him that were now beginning to rot. Simply to escape the horrible stench, he frantically searched and within minutes found a hatch. Sam carefully climbed down the overturned phantom onto the ground of the barren hill it had crashed upon. The sounds of gunfire and explosions could be heard not too far off. Heading towards the sound of violence isn't exactly the best idea...but where else am I going to "find" a lift out of wherever this is.. Sam cautiously, yet swiftly made his way towards the sounds of war...

ooc: I had a longer and far better introductory post. But it gave me that "invalid thread" crap arrrrrrrggghhhh. I'll remember to copy/paste next time.

The arbitor rolled over. He had woken up in a shock of pain. Seeing in a blur the enemy's all around him he pretended to still be knocked out. He lowered his breathing to make it look like he was dieing. His hand tighted on the energy sword that was currently retracted and hidden under his armour. He waited for anything to come near him. He knew if he could get a few kills in before he died that would be good.

Sam kept running towards the sound. Although the sound of gunfire and explosives was not particularly inviting, it offered hope for rescue. Within minutes he came upon a large structure. The strange gray building was surrounded by smoking piles of what probably were human and covenant and twisted wreckage of destroyed vehicles. It doesn't look like human architectrue..but maybe there are people in there, or at least something I can send out a distress call with. 5000 Km above Halo

The Covenant ship High Gaurdian jumped out of slipspace above the ring world Halo. The ships commander was an elite by the name of Zalu Ponumee. He looked extremely intimidating and dangerous in his spotless gold armor. He looked at the hologram in front of him. It currantly showed that several ships in the Covenant fleet were engaging each other. He tapped a small red triangle on the display. "Report."

The elites voice on the other end of the transmission sounded angry. "There are several reports of fighting on board. We are receiving several transmissions stating that a civil war has broken out. The brutes have slayed many of our brethren already."

"Damn." It was only a matter of time. Ponumee never liked the Jirahanea much, but this was unacceptable.

"Exellency we have several hostile contacts. The are dispatching boarding craft."

"Good. I haven't killed humans in a while."

"Their not human. Their Covenant." Just as this transmission finished there were sounds of battle outside of the Command Deck.

"Abandon ship. Get to your launch pods."

"Isn't that cowardly, Exellency?"

Ponumee chuckled. "No. There will be plenty of blood shed on the way. Plus I have a plan." Pornumee did have a plan. A dangerous one. He ran out of the Command Deck and ran streight for the Engine room. As soon as the door opened he spotted three brutes by the Plasma drive. Before the had time to react, Ponumee pulled out his plasma sword and killed one of them. He then threw a grenade on another. After the explosion the last brute went berserk. Ponumee jumped over him and sliced his back open. Just too easy. he thought. He placed a grenade in the Plasma drive and got the hell out of there.

Ponumee made it to his pod without too much trouble. These brutes and the jackels that sided with them were to inexperienced. Ponumee calculated that the High Gaurdian would blow due to the damage taken to the Plasma Drive. He got in his pod and launched to Halo's surface just as the High Gaurdian blew to sub atomic particles.

He jumped on the nearest Pellican and gave direct orders from O'Neill to take him back down to the Construct. When he arrived, he was greeted by the 6 Marines he left to defend the Vehicles. They offered assistance, but he was going solo to gather the rest of his group that could be dead by now.

When he arrived, the cables that his group used were still there. He climbed down the wall, and arrived in a mess of corpses. He used his radio:
