OOC: This is in reference to this treaty: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7582161&postcount=67 and the further request here that only Praetonian troops be allowed entry: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7582200&postcount=68 which was accepted.

IC: It was a hot day in The Upper Congo that a large ship sailed into the nation's main port (OOC: Im not sure what it's called), bearing the Praetonian Flag. Along the quayside a large crowd had gathered. Soldiers, dockworkers, mournful looking civilians. The roll-on / roll-off ramp of the ship dropped to expose the 45th Tigers battalion of Praetonian heavy infantry. They were not expecting any fighting, as The Upper Congo had effectively surrendered, and so they were wearing their dress uniforms, which resembled those of the British forces in the Napoleonic-era. At the front of the column which was quickly emerging from the ship was the Regimental Band, two flags, one Praetonian, the other of the specific Battalion, and a hollow gold eagle.

The band drummed a solemn military march as the battalion itself began to march into the town, tanks driving onto the quayside behind it. The civilians looked on in shock. There were Upper Congoian soldiers standing nearby, but they were there to control the civilians, not fight the Praetonians, and no resistance was offered.

More ships landed there that day, and the next, and the day after, until twenty full Battalions, including 16,000 men, 300 IFVs and 200 MBTs had been unloaded, and the Tigers, along with 5 other Battalions, had reached the Congoian Capital. Again, a large crowd of civilians gathered to watch as the Praetonian National Anthem was played, and a Praetonian Flag raised alongside that of The Upper Congo.

OOC: TUC, I hope you dont mind me RPing your troops and civlians, but it's not like they were going to attack me after you surrendered. Anyway, the other 15 Battalions have been dispersed around other towns and military bases to ensure compliance with the terms of the treaty. They will also be working on improving communications links inside your nation.

The U.S.S., which holds positions in nearby Somalia, is intrigued by the increased Praetonian presence in central Africa. Shalrirorchia politely requests additional information on the nature of the occupation and assurances that U.S.S. bases in Africa have no need to fear the newly arrived task forces.

OOC: Take a look at the treaty in the links provided, and just take a look at that thread in general.

Official Statement, Imperial Government

The Democratic Imperium has no Imperial interest in Africa. Our forces stationed in The Upper Congo are merely there to ensure Congoian compliance with the terms set forth in the Armistice agreement that ended hostilities between The Upper Congo and several other nations.
