The United States of Shalrirorchia is on the brink of civil disorder tonight as factions line up to claim victory in the U.S.S. Presidential race.
Conservative challenger Edward Wright is claiming victory after apparently receiving 270 electoral votes, the minimum required to win. "The people of Shalrirorchia are tired of the liberal, communist, anti-God policies of the Gistarai Administration, and they just proved it last night!" Wright said at a victory campaign rally.
The camp of President Tarumigan Aeii Gistarai (Democratic candidate) is silent in the face of reports of voting irregularities in at least one key battleground state, except for a public statement by Vice-President Dean. "We believe that when all the votes are counted that the people's faith in the President will be reaffirmed."
There are reports of minor scuffles in the streets of the capital of Shalcoria between police and protestors on both parties. 14 arrests have been made so far.
