Religious Revolution: The Eviction of Protestants

For centuries, the odd mix of religions co-existed peacefully in Kryozerkia. The Catholics lived in all the main city centres, along with the Taoists, Buddhists and the Athiests, as well as the Secularists and Agnostics. No other religion had set roots in the country, until recently when a group of Protestant Christians came to the northern province of Kryozerkia where descendants of Irish Catholics held the majority.

The Catholics weren't very happy to see the arrival of these people. to them, these people representated the oppression that they had escaped. Needless to say, the Catholics were very irritated over the arrival of these Protestants.

Since many were wealthy due to this province being a province rich in it's beauty as well as resources, those who led the purge of Protestants in their towns and cities were able to bribe officials to look the other way and ignore the persecution that was occurring in their backyard at an alarmingly high rate.

Fearing for their lives, there was an exodus of Protestant Christians to another province. Unfortunately, they found themselves equally as unwelcomed, especially when they decided that the residents were heathens and needed to see the light and be guided down the path to the Lord's embrace.

So, in other words, they began to preach to the Taoists, Buddhists and Athiests, who were very unhappy about being called sinners and told that their beliefs were wrong.

They decided against pulling the same tactics as the Catholics did and instead took to rallying on the streets and chanting slogans of anti-Protestantism. They were met by opposition from the Protestants, who soon turned out to be even more annoying then before.

Mind you, this took a number of years to come to this point, but, it remained that no Protestant ever claimed citizenship in the nation of Kryozerkia and the fundamentalists were never even granted permanant resident status.

They also very loud and became a menace along the same lines as the house fly - no matter how many times you swat it, it just doesn't want to die.

Having settled into one corner of the Kryozerkian province that was home to Kerzokoia, they managed to establish a whole other generation to carry on their twists ideals.

Even though they had settled, there were still frequent clashes between them and the citizenry of Kryozerkia. Eventually the citizens took to the streets of the cities and numbers in throes.

"2-4-6-8...show the evil fundies the gate!" one group outside of the national legislature chanted.

Many people carried very anti-Protestant signs.

666 isn't just the home of the Devil
Protestants are proof that there is no God.

(To name a couple).

The ring leader stood on a soap box. With a megaphone, goaded the rank aand file. "What do we want?"

"No more fundamentalists!"

"What do we want the government to do?"

"Deport them! Deport them! Deport them!"

"When do we want this?"

"NOW!! NOW!!"

Meanwhile, on the floor of the House of Commons, a representative from the Citizens' Committee on Religious Affairs (CCRA), pleaded for the Prime Minister and the rest of the Social Credit Party to do something about this new evil.

"I agree with this person!" a Social Credit backbencher proclaimed. "I've had these bloody fundamentalists approach me and tell me that I'm a sinner and that I must repent my ways and accept God. I tried to tell them I'm a Catholic, but them they tell me that I have been misled and that I'm not a true Christian."

Another MP stood up. "I'm happy with my beliefs. I don't believe in God and I don't need to be told that I must open my heart to God, when I don't believe in him."

The Speaker of the House addressed the Prime Minister. "What do you think of this ma'am?"

"Deport the heathens!" she declared. "If the people want this, give it to them!"

When word reached the street, there was much rejoicing. But, the only group no rejoicing was the Protestant Christians. They found themselves being rounded up by immigration police and sent to deportation stations. Those who resisted were beaten, sent to jail or killed on sight.

A week later, in a news report, the Prime Minister was reported to be saying, "This is a gold-letter day. We have cleansed the nation of all Protestant Christians. They will no longer be a leech on our system, they will no longer be preaching to us. They have no influence, or even a foot in this country!"

We are surprised to have received support thus far, and are grateful for it.

We are trying to go about this process of 'weeding' out fundamentalist Protestant Christians in a humane way. If they resist, then we use force.

It is a success. We have also begun a screening process at Customs and Immigration. While we still allow Protestant tourists, they are equipped with a GPS chip so that when their visa expires, they cannot overstay their visit without Immigration officials knowing.
