ECBS News- Halifax, NS
Today in Parliament, Prime Minister Graves announced his plan for rebuilding East Canada after the war. The following is an excerpt from his speech.
"Today, we embark on that journey I spoke of yesterday- I have authorized $448 billion to be used for rebuilding our shattered nation- with $100 billion of that going to our friends in the USC. This money will first be used to rebuild the major cities, such as Toronto and Ottawa, which were both completely leveled during the last war."
On relocating the capital:
"I hear there has been some question as to whether or not we will move the capital to Halifax permanently. I stress that those rumors are untrue. We will keep the capital in Ottawa- it's always been that way, and I see no reason to change."
On the future of Quebec:
"We are aware that there were certain Quebec citizens who were disloyal to our government and sided with the fascist invaders. However, we will not persecute Quebec or its culture at all- I know for certain that most Quebec citizens were loyal to us- your culture will not be stepped on, I assure you."
On Paul Martin:
"Oh? That bastard..He'll be tried for war crimes and collaboration with the enemy- I have no stomach for traitors."
(OOC: Paul Martin was the puppet leader of East Canada occupied by the Fascists)
The Prime Minister also announced he will give tax breaks to those companies that set up shop or start factories in the union, to help stimulate the economy.
