The Emperor has announced plans on turning the island of Crete into an fortress island. It will serve as a great strategic location to be able to use it as a supply base during operations in the Middle-East, Turkey, Southern Europe and all of Northern Africa. The civilians will not be affected by this change. They will feel safer as 500,000 Hoplites are being garrisoned on the island with many SAM batteries surrounding the island and other artillery and anti-aircraft weapons. The new 8th, 9th and 10th Naval Fleets that are almost finished being constructed will dock on the island too. The Emperor said that this is one step securing the nation's territorial waters and having more control over the Mediterranean Sea.

As fellow TBA alliance members with a large merchant and military fleet, Notquiteaplace would like to offer a small fleet of ships to help here. It would comprised of lighter and faster ships and carriers and would boast much piracy hunting experience. It would be a large fleet, with dozens of corvettes and frigates, a large number of destroyers and a few smaller cruisers, as well as a few subs and a few light aircraft carriers.

If you wouldnt mind we would like to base it on Crete so it can help protect our alliea and trading interests in the Europe region.

In the case of emergancy my fleets will aid you. If piracy or threats occur to shipping rather than national security, my fleet is at your disposal. You may assign them patrols and escort missions for any TBA or mineral archipelago (my region) vessels passing through. Though at any point I reserve the right to withdraw them or take command. Though this would only be used for emergancies.

It may well be large, but Notquiteaplace has a garrison there and we are very much pro free trade. Infact the Notquiteaplace naval presence exists to protect vessels from piracy and other foul play, including confiscation of wares by privateers or any other underhand behavior.

NTG is a fellow TBA member and so is unlikely to do anything hostile to other nations. Any such actions would not have our support. However as a fellow TBA nation this project allows NTG to use force more effectively against anyone who attack them.

Here is the progress report on the fortification project of Crete. The 8th Naval Fleet is finally constructed and the 9th Naval Fleet is almost done, just a few ships remaining. 350,000 Hoplites have been garrisoned on Crete and now just 150,000 Hoplites are needed to be transported too. The island of Crete will have around 13% of the Hellenic Army. Half the island is also now protected by SAM batteries, artilleries and other anti-aircraft and anti-ship weapons. The Emperor also said that Crete will serve as excellent base to retake mainland Greece back incase a foreign nation successfully invades.

This is breaking news! It was just a week ago of the completion of the fortifications plans for Crete and the construction of the 8th, 9th and 10th Naval Fleets. But now the Emperor has send out war ships to expand the nation's territorial waters from the 200 miles limit. The Emperor said this is just to ensure the safety for all traders but many do not believe this. This was HNN reporting.
