As many of you know, Half Life 2 came out on November 16th worldwide. Tt scored five star reviews from every reputable magazine/publication, and after playing it through, I couldn't agree more.
And so, to celebrate Half Life 2's release, I have decided to do a post-Half Life 2 RP, called City 1.
(Warning, the paragraph below and the RP will contain 'spoilers'
to Half Life 2, so for those of you that want to complete Half Life 2, I suggest you tag this now, complete it, and then come back to read this)
This RP takes place a few days after the events of Half Life 2. Word has spread that the 'Freeman' sacrificed his life to save humanity, and in the process, brought the Combine Citadel down (The Combine Empire's Main Base on Earth), and killed Dr. Wallace Breen. Sadly, the resulting explosion from the Citadel destroyed much of City 17, and killed many resistance members (I know, I know, I liked Alyx too, but I doubt that the G-Man would have saved her, or that she could survive the explosion), save for Dr. Kleiner and Barney Calhoun.
With the Combine in disarray, and Wallace Breen dead, Humanity and the Vortigaunts alike rise up against the remaining Combine. This is where our story begins.

Now, this is a Character RP. In other words, you control one character only in this story, and you have to build up a story for them, as well as acting out your character well.
There are four special roles you can audition for (by TG), I will pick the best four auditions (one from every role), and give those people those roles respectively:
COS-9344 (Combine Overwatch Soldier 9344): COS-9344 is a Combine Soldier, fighting for his life, let alone a foothold in City 1. He are part of SOU-7 (Special Operations Unit 7), a unique unit of Combine Soldiers.
All SOU's are last resort units. In the events of a revolution (or even an invasion), SOU's are deployed, along with other COS's, to repel the rebels. Every SOU has access to special technologies, such as jetpacks, heavy armour, Portal callers, and on-site forcefields (to name a few).
However, ever since the Citadel was destroyed, most of the Combine bio-technology shut down in his brain, allowing him to regain his humanity somewhat.
But as he fights violently on the streets with his comrades, protecting key Combine Installations, and killing off rebels, he question his orders, his 'beliefs', and ultimately, his loyalty to the Combine.
Airen: 'Airen' is a vortigaunt. He is part of the rebellion, leading a unit of other Vortigaunts against the fledging Combine presence in City 1. He believes that the 'Freeman' was the Jesus of the Galaxy, giving his life to save everyone enslaved by the Combine.
But as his unit is killed off, and the Combine begin to push back with an unknown supply of troops, he wonder whether the Combine can ever be defeated, and whether the rebellion is really worth fighting for.
Keianna Whitesun: Keianna is the leader of the rebellion in City 1. She is a pretty woman, with brown hair and hazel eyes. She Is headstrong, but smart.
She hates the Combine for what they did to her family, and her brother (later discovered to be COS-9344), and she can be found in every major battle, fighting alongside her comrades, pushing towards victory.
However, as the Combine start to push back, and the rebels go on the defensive, Keianna prays that the 'Freeman' will help them defeat the Combine.
Administrator Darren: Darren is the Administrator of City 1. He is a cruel man, twisted by severe Combine influencing. He is dark haired, has dark blue eyes, and wears glasses (much like Gordon Freeman's). After the death of Dr. Breen, Darren had to take control of the remaining Combine influence on Earth, giving them orders in the absence of Dr. Breen.
A few days ago, however, he was contacted by a Combine Prefect, who assured him that reinforcements would be along shortly.
Those are the special roles. The information given, however,is for both chapters of the story. The first chapter will feature the continued rebel push, and the Combine's attempts to hold City 1. The second chapter will feature the Combine's retaliation, along with the reinforcements promised.
However, the roles above aren't the only ones available. You can make up your own character, and you can play him/her/it if I approve the character (no integral characters however, like Dr. Kleiner or Barney Calhoun).
I am looking for at least five people to begin with. The RP will be closed, but after it's started, you can still propose a character here, and if I approve of the character, you can enter the RP. I will post the link to the RP once I starts up.
