OOC: This is just a prepost to an upcoming conflict to show that I've been preparing for this for a while. Doesn't need anyone else to do anything.
In an alarming move today, the SR Military's Defence department has announced it has activated previously un-used defence structures in various places throughout SR. The activation of these installations hasn't occured since the last major threat of invasion to SR, way back during a conflict with Lapse. Tests are currently underway to determine if the structures are still capable of providing rapid response defence. "There's nothing to be alarmed about, it's just a test to ensure we're still defended."
However recent SR border patrol guards have increased in number, and SR Troopers patroling streets are at an all time high. Beaches are now off limits to the general public, and trade ships are escorted through a special route, leading others to believe SR has heavily mined the waters not relating to trade. Adding to the worry are recent military tests with Orsirus, SR's longest standing ally, of various forms of military technology.
"Look, it's nothing to worry about," claimed an excited Commandant Soldant Hawkins yesterday. "Yeah, we have doing a few military test with Orsirus, both of us are just interested in what the other has been working on. As for the threat of war, well, all I can say is that things are changing rapidly around here, and there is always a threat of war. but for the moment don't worry about it, just go back to your normal lives."
The rest of the population ARE worried. "I got held up in traffic today because an APC ran out of fuel in the middile of the road!" cried one SR citizen. The increase in SR Trooper patrols on the streets indicates that there may indeed be war on the horizon.
