OOC: If you scream godmod, blame GURPS, not me. I used GURPS Vehicles and GVB to design these.
NAV-661 Spartan II MBT
Cost: $6,100,000 USD
Length: 30.1 feet
Width: 9 feet
Height: 9 feet
Range before refuelling: 800 miles
Weight: 52 tons
Crew: 4 (driver, electronics operator/commander, loader, gunner)
Engine: 2,012-horsepower power plant
Fuel capacity: 1,680 gallons
Fuel consumption 105 gallons per hour
Top speed: 75mph on-road, 50mph off-road
Armor: Advanced composite - 60° slope on turret, 30° slope on body. Armor roughly equal to 5.96 inches of commercial-grade steel (eg, the stuff one could go and buy at a store).
Main gun: 130mm short-barreled smoothbore, with accurate range of 1,400 yards and maximum range of 5,900 yards - rate of fire 8rpm
Ammunition: 100x APDSDU rounds - they increase accurate range to 2,100 yards, and maximum range to 8,900 yards
Commander's gun: 12.7mm/.50 caliber 3-barrel electric gatling with accurate range of 200 yards and maximum range of 1,900 yards - rate of fire 3000rpm
Ammunition: 3000x AP rounds
The Spartan II is the pride and joy of the Nakadeko Armored Corps, a large, fast, nearly unstoppable gas-guzzling bloodletter with extreme armaments. Space inside the Spartan II's large chassis is actually at a premium, owing to the main gun. A 130mm cannon does not fit into a tank chassis of any sort easily, let alone a hundred rounds for such a behemoth. Most of the rounds are stored in the extra space in the body - only a fraction are kept in the turret. A pair of loading doors in the bottom of the turret and top of the body allow the turret to be rotated into position so that rounds may be taken up into the turret. The reason it was decided to do it that way and not simply hand the rounds down through the top of the turret was both weight and mobility - top-loading requires the tank to be stationary, and each of the mammoth rounds weighs eighty pounds. The tank's unusually light construction was achieved with a high use of very expensive materials, resulting in its much higher cost. The use of advanced composite armor and sloping removes much of the armor weight, leaving more room and weight for the main gun.
NAV-66 Spartan I MBT
Cost: $2,000,000
Length: 31.8 feet
Width: 8 feet
Height: 8 feet
Range before refuelling: 880 miles
Weight: 44 tons
Crew: 4
Engine: 2,012-horsepower power plant
Fuel capacity: 1,680 gallons
Fuel consumption 105 gallons per hour
Top speed: 80mph on-road, 55mph off-road
Armor: Composite - 60° slope on turret, 30° slope on body - body armor roughly equal to 4.42 inches of commercial-grade steel, turret armor roughly equal to 2.24 inches
Main gun: 110mm short-barreled smoothbore, with accurate range of 1,300 yards and maximum range of 5,600 yards - rate of fire 10rpm
Ammunition: 100x APDSDU rounds - they increase accurate range to 2,000 yards and maximum range to 8,400 yards
Commander's gun: 12.7mm/.50 caliber 3-barrel electric gatling with accurate range of 200 yards and maximum range of 1,900 yards - rate of fire 3000rpm
Ammunition: 3000x AP rounds
The Spartan I is the frame upon which the Spartan II was built, and is also a potent combat machine in and of itself. It is slightly faster than its offspring, owing to the fact that it is smaller and uses the same power plant, and has a smaller main gun. The armor on the Spartan is markably inferior, but the machine is also cheaper and longer-ranged. The lower cost is due to the lack of advanced materials used in the Spartan II, and the lower weight is also a boon. The Spartan is, however, no match for its counterpart. The Spartan is now used for two main purposes within the Nakadeko Armored Corps, to reinforce Spartan IIs, and to lead the much smaller Spike MBTs.
NAV-43 Spike MBT
Cost: $1,200,000
Length: 22 feet
Width: 6.5 feet
Height: 6.5 feet
Range before refuelling: 1120 miles
Weight: 27 tons
Crew: 2 (driver, gunner)
Engine: 1,340-horsepower power plant
Fuel capacity: 1,120 gallons
Fuel consumption 70 gallons per hour
Top speed: 85mph on-road, 70mph off-road
Armor: Composite, $15/1lb - 60° slope on front, 30° slope on sides - table displays approximate stopping power in inches of commercial-grade steel
Body | Turret
Front 5.91 | 2.24
Sides 4.43 | 1.68
Rear 2.95 | 1.12
Main gun: 90mm short-barreled smoothbore, with accurate range of 1,200 yards and maximum range of 5,400 yards - rate of fire 12rpm
Ammunition: 100x APDU rounds
Commander's gun: 5.56mm 3-barrel electric gatling with accurate range of 88 yards and maximum range of 1,200 yards - rate of fire 3000rpm
Ammunition: 400x AP rounds
The Spike is a small recon-based tank, designed for speed, not firepower. Nakadeko military organization uses three Spikes led by one Spartan or Spartan II as a basic striking unit. The Spike can't hit hard, but it can move quickly and funnel the enemy back towards more dangerous units. The Spike shares the Spartan design, scaled down, and all of the basic design tenets of the Spartan such as the turret-to-body loading doors are present. The Spike is also a favorite escort of the Razor and Razor II IFVs, due to its low price and high speed.
NAV-932 Razor II IFV
Cost: $3,900,000 USD
Length: 30.9 feet
Width: 8 feet
Height: 8 feet
Range before refuelling: 1040 miles
Weight: 42 tons
Crew: 5 (driver, electronics operator/commander, 3x gunner) plus 12 passengers
Engine: 2,012-horsepower power plant
Fuel capacity: 1,680 gallons
Fuel consumption 105 gallons per hour
Top speed: 80mph on-road, 65mph off-road
Armor: Advanced composite - 30° slope on body. Armor roughly equal to 5.96 inches of commercial-grade steel.
Armaments: Three 12.7mm/.50-caliber machine guns, with accurate range of 200 yards and maximum range of 1,200 yards - rate of fire 780rpm
Ammunition: 780x AP rounds per gun, 2,040 total
The Razor II IFV is the standard personnel carrier for the Nakadeko Infantry Corps. The armor is equal to that of a Spartan II tank, rendering it all but impervious to small arms and explosives, and the three machine guns give it an excellent field of fire. The Razor II is more than capable of providing support to the squadron of troops it carries. The ammunition supplies are, however, limited, restricting this vehicle's combat life.
NAV-93 Razor IFV
Cost: $1,800,000 USD
Length: 30.9 feet
Width: 8 feet
Height: 8 feet
Range before refuelling: 1040 miles
Weight: 43 tons
Crew: 5 (driver, electronics operator/commander, 3x gunner) plus 12 passengers
Engine: 2,012-horsepower power plant
Fuel capacity: 1,680 gallons
Fuel consumption 105 gallons per hour
Top speed: 80mph on-road, 65mph off-road
Armor: Composite - 30° slope on body. Body armor roughly equal to 4.43 inches of commercial-grade steel
Armaments: Three 12.7mm/.50-caliber machine guns, with accurate range of 200 yards and maximum range of 1,200 yards - rate of fire 780rpm
Ammunition: 500x AP rounds per gun, 1,500 total
The Razor is the precursor to the Razor II, and isn't much different except for less ammunition and armor. The reason it weighs more than the Razor II is that the Razor II's armor is made of more expensive, lighter, stronger materials. The Razor is not the hardiest vehicle around, but it's much cheaper than its descendant.
