OOC: The following story line is for my MT nation to become FT. Tagging is welcome and any relevant IC/OOC comments, but no declarations of war for the moment, please!

IC:

The underground cities were buzzing, a hive of rumour-mongering and general activity. There had been one very big rumour flying around for weeks now, that Lord Stra’coth was going to revive the old position as Emperor for himself and create a new third council, with which he could rule more effectively. Also, their were rumours the stated mission of the Guilders was coming to fruition, many Guilders had heard rumours of the black genetic manipulation projects carried out members of the Guild of Genetic Research, Guild of Defence and members of the The Claw and The Talon. But what could these research projects be…

Suddenly at approximately 19.00 hours Guild Standard Time, all broadcast mediums ceased broadcasting and went blank for a few seconds. Then a voice crackled out from the systems, asking all Guild citizens to pay attention an important announcement was to be made.

A woman’s face flashed onto the screen, it was visibly scarred and her chest shone with medals and awards, she wore a Black Uniform, with the emblazoned insignia of the Elite Bridgeburner Legion.

‘Today Guilders, history is to be made!’ she paused then continued ‘I am Lina Dragonis, most of you know me by the mantle of ‘Hell’s Princess’, I am here today to communicate what has just occurred in the Palace of the Guildlords. By unanimous vote the Guildlords have deemed to bestow the position of Emperor upon Supreme Guildlord Stra’coth. In his infinite wisdom Lord Stra’coth has seen fit to change this title to Shadowlord, he has formed a council of 7 be his Advisory Council, the rest of Government will be unaffected by this change. The 7 members are himself, his consort, the Master of the Talon, the Master of the Claw, the Chief of Staff of the Guild of Defence, the Guildlord of the Guild of External Affairs and the Guildlord of the Guild of Foreign Trade. As you know Lord Stra’coth has no current consort thus we will be trying to find him a suitable mate, we will be opening this up to Guilders of any classification. Long live, Shadowlord Stra’coth’ Lina repeated.

The Guilds all said this in unison, the words laced with the realisation that something else was coming something big…

‘Further, I don’t doubt many of you have heard of the hundreds of projects undertaken by your Government on your behalf, now we have reached fruition of those projects. We announce to you this day that our first organic ships are ready for Space Travel, they are well armed and we have thought up every eventuality for them. Here is a live feed from their Mount Shadow base’

The screen flicked to a huge Guild base in the foothills of Mount Shadow, as if on cue a large black object, with shiny black skin and long bone like arms sticking out from its side ascended upwards. It let out a terrifying shriek into the night… only then did the Guilders realise in their heart of hearts the evil they had created these past two hundred years, which had been unleashed on an unsuspecting universe this night. The shape ascended further into the stratosphere and then shimmered out of existence. The screen flicked back to Lina.

‘What you have just seen is the ‘Battlecrab’ class attack cruiser, it is a highly advanced organic ship, and we also have several other classes. Also, we are ordering the decrease in the size of the Land Legions from 8,000,000 troops to 500,000, with the Air Legions being abolished. The troops no longer part of the Legions shall be given plots of land and/or jobs by the other Guild as they wish. Also, they will be given a pension by the Shadowlord himself for their excellent and prolonged service, they will be invited to be among the first to settle some of the new planets we have picked out for this purpose.’

‘To replace the Guild Legions, we have created a new series of creatures named the ‘Dryal’, they are truly formidable and may soon become one of the more feared forces in the Galaxy’ she continued.

The screen cut to a split screen of 6 different species, all looked truly alien but at the same time truly masterful in their creation, since they were designed purely for war nothing else. Besides many Guilders felt anything that kept the enemies of the Guilds at bay was a good thing, besides it meant pretty non-existent human losses, this was a good day for many Guilders. (OOC: I’ll do the Dryal descriptions/specs at a later date)

The screen again flicked back to Lina. ‘We hope you can understand these changes, however the Shadowlord has decided in his infinite wisdom that we should leave this planet as a civilisation and go to a new home, which has been identified by the Guild of Astronomers, our observations indicate this planet is uninhabited and is similar in some ways to this our current home. This will conducted over the next 10 years (OOC: 10 days) as we move via colony ship to our main home, which has been christened Z’Ha’Dum, the structures for the underground cities are partially in place so it shouldn’t be very traumatic for us. Also, we have already begun the process of colonising a few planetoids in the vicinity, which show the possibility of becoming Agricultural and Mining Worlds for our great civilisation. We would also like it known that all the Guilds will be gifted with the relevant technologies to give them the advantages of doing business in our new theatre of operations. Personal Instructions to each family will be delivered via message link; this will include everything you need to know. Let the great migration of the Guilders begin!’ she finished.

The link switched off and Lina mopped her brow… ‘I really hate this kind of thing, you know she stated to the two figures of Baudin, her brother as well as being Master of the Talon and Kalam, Master of the Claw. Both men simply grinned at her.

In the streets the Guilders could hardly believe it… it would take time to fully sink in but this was a huge shock, they knew they had to go, there was no other option but many were loath to leave their country. It would be a time of great upheaval and change for the average Guilder.

OOC: I’ll do another instalment tomorrow. :)

The transfer of the Guilders to their new home of Z’ha’dum had begun. Massive purpose built organic Colony ships occasionally hovered over the Guild landscape as families, provisions, equipment etc were loaded aboard destined for Z’ha’dum or the other worlds in the system identified by the Guild of Astronomers. The uprooting of the Guilds was as expecting taking time and a lot of resources, with occasional problems being encountered which required minor alternations to the schedule. Some minor incidents had occurred but nothing that the Claw found any reason to report.

The Worlds being colonised were:

Sun: ‘dum
System: ‘ha’dum
2nd Planet: W’ha’dum (Mining Colony), Moons of Drakh being turned into Shipyards and Vree being turned into a military Research facility.
3rd Planet: X’ha’dum (Agricultural World), Moon of Drazi being turned into a Military base.
4th Planet: Y’ha’dum (Agricultural World), Moons of Vorlon and Sigma 1 are being turned research stations.
5th Planet: Z’ha’dum (Home world), Moons of Sigma 2, Sigma 3 and Pac’ Mara are being turned into military bases/defence platforms.
6th Planet: A’ha’dum (Industrial World), Moon of Brachiri is being turned into a Communications/Relay Station.
7th: Planet: B’ha’dum (Mining Colony). No moons.
8th Planet: C’ha’dum (Research Colony) Moon of Terra being investigated for resources detected below the surface.

Guild Engineers, Miners and Construction personnel were working around the clock still to get the new facilities ready for each new colony ship, one of which arrived every month bring a few more million Guilders to their new world. Their had been a few cases of death from exhaustion among them, but fortunately medical personnel had been vigilant ever since the first few deaths so many were saved by their timely intervention. A new version of ‘The Crucible’ had been constructed two miles beneath the crust of the new world of Z’ha’dum, there was no water on this world, so Water Planets had been constructed to create it manually, with massive water recycling in place to stop it being lost. Power through Geo-thermal energy plants and Naquaeda generators where Geo-thermal plants had yet to be completed were powering the Guild drives. The sky was a dull grey colour with little hint of this world ever having lived. From the universe it looked to be a dull, red the colour of it’s rocks, but it was a fitting place for the Guilders, whose own ideas were considered to be totally evil by many on their spawning planet of Earth. Already, Battlecrabs circled the world, their human centralised processors controlling their every move in their escorting of the Guild colony ships and the guarding of the Guild worlds. The Dryal still languished in their specially constructed pens, both the fleet and the Dryal were generally controlled by the huge Quantum computer system known as ‘The Eye’ this was 3 miles beneath Z’ha’dum crust in a heavily armoured and insulated chamber, it’s signals were sent throughout the universe via the Relay located on Brachiri. A direct link to the Eye had been made to the Crucible allowing the Guilders to control their killing machines, in their mission, with a new much broader scope.

The original birth country of the Guilders was retained in it’s splendour. It was guarded by the ‘Serpent’ Legion, with all the original logistics Raider regiments and the ‘Evil Eye’ Regiment staying their to act as additional support to stop the Guild secrets falling into the wrong hands. Also, some 300,000 Guild civilians had stayed to maintain the cities and networks, as well as mine it’s vast resources. The defence networks were still as active as ever but had now been augmented by Quantum Cannons placed in support of the Doomslandian Defence turrets, mines and bunkers. These acted as superb defence systems since they could target land units/personnel as well as hit aircraft with devastating effect. The Guilds however had no more ambitions on Earth, it was a nothing compared to what they had found now.

The original disbanded Legions had been made available to the Macabee’s and Parthia. They had been given the option of a pension and land or to stay on as Guild Mercenaries for the Earthers. Most had chosen the later option, they were breed to fight and they wanted to do their duty for their homeland, now they would provide the Guilds with additional income and be able to fight and die as they had been taught to do with their original equipment. This life was also made available to any Guilder, who wanted it, some chose to do so, bringing the number in the Legions back to the original figure, but not without a slight loss of experience and training. The Mercenary Captain-General was declared by a close vote to be: Criticus Zabric former Chief-of-Operations of the Guild Military and formerly of the ‘Golden Fan’ Legion.

OOC: note the Guild Mercenary Army will operate from the original Guild island and will be fighting on behalf of the RWC in MT conflicts, please remember it is equipped in the manner of my original MT army. But it is only 7.6 million strong now inc. support. It will be available to hire but not against the RWC or the Guilds. I’ll set prices later. :)

That’s all for now, another instalment tomorrow.

Battlecrabs circled around Z’ha’dum like moths around a light with Vampire Scout Cruisers patrolling at the edges of the system, ever ready for danger in this stage of the planets rapid transformation. Occasionally, a huge colony ship would phase in from Hyperspace and slowly descend to a designated city point on the planet or head off to one of the other planetoids in the system. Some Vampire Scout Cruisers were exploring nearby systems for life and potential conquests, as well as resources and prospective settlement areas.

Well, beneath the crust the huge Quantum Super computer known as ‘The Eye’ pulsed rhythmatically, emitting strange hypnotic blue and green light. It’s engineers were stationed in a protected casing above it, updating, systems checking it and making necessary repairs to the system. It was truly a wondrous sight to behold.

The new Vas Urbs was pretty much built, with most of it’s population beginning to settle in too life on a new planet already bazaar’s and markets were taking shape as people found out they needed some things, which the merchants had the foresight to bring. Prices were high for the moment and would be for a little while, The Shadowlord directly intervened in this in so far that all goods would be subsidised by the Government for a short period to make them more affordable to all the Guilders in this problematic and troublesome move.

The city was bathed in the red light so characteristic of their new world, the halogen lighting bathed the city in it’s glow the world, the Guilders like ants to it’s size, a huge borehole from the very surface lead to a hole above the central district of the city, but this was covered by a huge diamond hardened glass dome, with 3 layers of shadow shields protecting it. This created the red light against the original white light of the halogen lamps. It was truly beautiful reflected against the Crystal used in the construction of buildings in the Capital, this had been brought from the crystal mines which had been used to create the original Vas Urbs. The Shadow Lords palace was located up in a side cavern, a massive glyph of the Wolves Head was represent on it, with stone fresco’s/freezes of the great battles and innovations the Guilders had made in their time. The main congress areas of the Guildlords and the Council of Merchants had been built and were already in use as people haggled, argued, spat and insulted (with) each other to gain advantage. A huge coliseum (named: The Hippodrome) had been cut into the bed rock, allowing a huge stadium, which could accommodate just over 600,000 people to watch the Gladiatorial games, which were an essential element of Guild life. Anti-gravity Bullet trains zipped along their tunnels to the new cities, with similar cargo trains running on different but more numerous lines, light railways/trams covered intra-city transport, cars had been got rid of since they were no needed. The separate Headquarters of The Claw and The Talon, had been created slightly outside Vas Urbs but still within easy access, these were mighty, obsidian buildings, who looked as dangerous as their occupants were… most Guilders avoided these buildings like the plague for fear of the agencies concerned.

On other worlds, the pace of development was not quite as fast but still very speedy for such a project, massive amounts of land had been adapted for farming across the Agricultural colonies with their small settlements in the main constructed and now being lived in. The Industrial World of was half complete, massive factories already producing materials/goods for the Guild populations as well as starting research into new products for the government and the general consumer. Mining Colonies had begun to churn out vast amounts of materials, which were transported back for a while using the ‘Overlord’ transports, but soon freighters and civilian transport were developed by various Guilds to deal with this problem. The system was becoming a hive of space activity with many ships coming and going. Military bases had been established on moons, mainly for humans with a few Dryal pens. However the Dryal, were being bred in vast quantities to make up for the dispersion of many of the Guild Legions, they were for the moment being mainly kept in large specialist built facilities on Z’ha’dum. They would sooner or later be unleashed on an unsuspecting universe however, when the Guilders began their planned wave of expansion.

Next instalment tomorrow! However, a note to those who read this I will soon be accepting encounters… well when my expansion starts however you are free to encounter away now if you so wish.
