Inside the home of Dr. Johnothan Milosovik, a prominent and distinguished partical physicist, the television had been on non-stop for the entire day. He had the day off from work and what a job it was. He was in charge of the entire partical accelerator complex, codename Complex 8892. The research conducted there was making it possible for the military to build its supergun project using railgun technology.

However, he wasn't watching the television because that was what he was doing on his day off. He was watching it because of the announcement made at 10:00 A.M. that day. The announcement was from the Emperor himself and so rarely did he come onto the television so it must have been important.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the Empire of Layarteb. It is my duty as your leader to inform you of the going-ons over the past few weeks. As you are aware, inside the province of South Eastern Virginia, things are not so good. Rebels who want a free Venezuela, as they wish to call it, have been causing a major problem inside the major cities. We are at war down there and let me assure you that this insurrection shall be subdued so that our citizens in South Eastern Virginia can live in peace and tranquility as all of you do.

"However, in light of this, colonists inside Central America have set up a significant colony, though still relatively small in size. The colony consists of Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Hondorus. With a population of some five million, it is very small but it shall fall under the protectorate of the Empire of Layarteb. This colony, which is now going to be called the Layartebian Colony of Ynoga, will be one of now four areas of our Empire, three of which are provinces. Eventually Ynoga shall be a province too.

"Today is a great day for our Empire and a great day for all of our citizens. The Empire of Layarteb covers some 747,455.92 square miles now. We are a might force in the world and shall remain as such.

"Take care Layarteb and have a wonderful day." The speech was over and the correspondants and pundits began. Immediately those opposed to the expansion of the Empire weighed in with their remarks and were slammed down by those who supported it. It was the major news story and every channel was covering it, even the cable channels. It was one of the most important days in the Empire.

Dr. Milosovik had been attuned to the television most of the day and on the phone as well, talking to his colleagues about the expansion. There was no doubt in their mind that the Emperor had some sinister military plan for this colony, especially with the situation in Venezuela. Basing aircraft and shipping out of Ynoga would be perfect for attacking Venezuela. Rather than fly some two thousand miles, they were flying around a thousand miles, much easier and much less logistically a nightmare.

OOC: Wait a second...we hold almost all of Central America, as well as Colombia and Northern Brazil. Do you mean for war or is this a misunderstanding?

OOC: Not at all. Venezuela has been our colony since the original Earth II. With the deleting of several nations because they were DEAT I annexed the Central American areas I just talked about. We have no desire to wage war on ye.

OOC: My bad, my factbook had Guatemala listed as a Colodian state. I checked the first page of the Earth II and found it to be false. Please continue. :)

Oh lol. Yeah it was originally Whittier but he got the DEAT so...

IC: President Black rose to the occasion, not missing the opportunity for a photo-op nearing the next Colodian Presidential election in a few days. He knew it was in the bag, as he rose the GDP per capita by tens of thousands of dollars to about $40,000, the highest in Colodian history.

"The recent arrival of Layarteb into the Latin Americas as our neighbors is a welcome arrival. The North American Pact still applies even though we are down in Southern Northern America. So we wish our friends the best and would be the first to the front lines should an enemy take the advantage over a new and possibly vulnerable colony."

"Man," thought Black. "They could ruin our dominant rule over Latin America if they mess up over there. And with the recent report of Mexico going anarchaic...that's another problem there...there is such a huge population in Mexico already. Oh well, save it all for the next term."

Recieving the statement from President Black, the Emperor picked up the phone. He wanted to personally thank the President for his public support over the expansion. The Emperor knew that it made the President uneasy, anybody would be uneasy when their unoccupied neighbors suddenly became occupied and by a nation that was having its own internal strife in a land not so far away. Plans were already underway for establishing military airfields, resupply bases, and a naval port or three inside Ynoga.

President Black didn't pick up the phone, and telegramed Layarteb a message stating "Sorry, the phonebills in Bogota are extremely ridiculous. $1 per minute!"

The Emperor recieved the telegram and laughed. He replied back.

Thank you for your public support of our campaign in Central America.

Secret IC

The Emperor finally gave his approval to the plan of action concerning Ynoga. The plan called for twenty airfields, sixteen for the air force and four for the navy. It called for two ports, one on the east and one on the west. It also called for three nuclear powerplants, well over a dozen gas plants, several wind farms, and multiple solar collectors. The dense jungle would have to be removed in many areas but it was doable. Lastly, plans for a canal from the Carribean to the Pacific Ocean was planed, the most expensive of the projects but nonetheless the most needed. It would have to be large enough to support ships in excess of 200,000 tons.

"We would like to congratulate our fellow NAANP member and great friend his ambitious plans to create a new force for good in Central America. We would like to offer our assistance in opening trade route with the area, the area is of great economic benifit to the Empire of Layarteb and we wish to help develop a prosperous Central America. Furthermore Celtayoshi will commit itself to the defense of this new terrirotry, Ynoga." Premier Németh.
