Admiral Jacobson received the good word by satelite communications that the excercises in the North Atlantic had been successful. The F-14I and new SCORPION class SSN had performed better than expected. The secret part of the ISS Scorpion was her pebble-bed reactor. She was the 1st sub in the fleet to use this silent reactor that required no pumps. As a result, the slightly older, but more capable Halibut SSNs were being recalled for refits where their liquid metal reactors would be removed for the quieter and slightly less powerful pebble-beds. All future subs would have this reactor in them and when older Galaxy SSNs came in for refit they would get the new reactor. The 1st sub in for refit was Commander (0-6 Selectee) Hyman G. Rickover III's ISS Halibut SSN-841, the 1st of her class.
