The Nation of the People, People of the Nation (Open RP)

Casana

[OOC: This isn't my first rp on the boards, I played different nations before, but this is the beginning of my nation's playing in the world field. We are an intentionally smlla nation, though, when our population grows, we will expand. This is the story of the nation's revolution, and how the current government came to be.]

The dimly lit dome of the Senate was making it rather hard for Senator Chavez to read the words on the banner behind the President and his staff. The words unity and democracy made him smile a bit, before the Senate was seated and ready for the Senator's speech he was scheduled to make. The President himself was not paying attention, he has his duty of precedence over the Senate, but his job mainly is to get paid and keep the population under control, not administer. At least thats how the regime wants it. Chavez wonders how it feels to have a hand shoved up his extremo for your entire reign.

He coughs a bit as the speaking in the building begins to quiet down. He feels his throat scratch and burn, it isn't a cold, allergies, at least he thinks so. Its hard to tell. He looked at the notes he had, hand written, which is more tlo say than the Senate, considering the problems with illiteracy. But he realizes he is trailing off. He brings down his glasses over his old face, and begins.

"Presidente, your highest honor, and the men," he started, and then hesistated again, there were no women in the Senate.

"Who make up this illustrious Senate, it comes to my attention that Casana is in fact a failed state."

The President looked to the Senator from the cigar smoke that hangs in the domed building. Chavez has gotten his attention.

"We fail, in the world's scape. We are failing, and are on the road to catastrophe and worse failures. Our People starve, our People cannot read, our People cannot vote, our People cannot decide their own fate. This failure is seen across this nation. You, Presidente, you are responsible, as are we, all of us, all of the people sitting in this building are responsible!

The people are unruly, crime is rampant, yet you do nothing, you sit around, quarrel, increase your salaries. When anything goes wrong, you recite our anthem, you cry out to our People's heartstrings and memory, "Long live Casana," you say. You play upon our nations suffering, you use it as a tool. Your policies destroy us, yes, us, this elite society of smoking old men in a building making the policies for millions of people.

You do not realize, the People wil lmake the decision, whether you will it or not. Now is the time for action, reform, change. People die, in the streets, starvation, crime, murder, or your executions, your purging, of Natives and of people who do not subscribe to your "hishest morals and values." In the rural provinces, people are kept as slaves, laboring until their backs go out, and then, they die from starvation as they do not get their share of the crop. Children are born, sick, our People are declining, dying, our Population shrinks, it does not grow. You, you and all of us here, are the ones responsible. Not the People.

This is my last day in the Senate. I am resigning, I will not be thrown out. I am done with this, and I know, that by this, you will seek to raise your hand against me. The message the People give to you, all of you, who failed in your duty to State and the People, will be from my mouth, and this is the final warning.

The Nation belongs to the People, the People do not belong to the Nation."

With that, the Senate went beserk, applause, heckling, and even brawling as hundred s of the Senators stood up, shouting, and soon, all that could be heard was the drowning voices of the Senate and the screamign and hammering the President was making on his death, attempting to bring order.

[OOC: Casana is a small chain of Carribean islands whose southern tip is between the Yucatan Penisula and Mexico, and its nothern tip is about 90 miles north of the Yucatan. Its population is predominately natives, latinos, blacks, and French whites, though strong minority populations of Slavs and Asians are present. There are few Arabs or other caucasians. The government is a dictatorship, the Senate is appointed by the President, and its use of slave labor in plantations and factories is well know. The slave labor is not just tied to one ehtnicity, but most often than not it is the persecuted Natives. There are no women's rights in Casana. Casana is officially capitalist, but most people do not have the ability to have a business, most people are forced to do manual labor just to survive. 72% of Casana's arable land is owned by foreign companies. 48% of Casana''s energy resources are owned by foreign companies. 86% of the nation's large oil and uranium supply is owned by foreign companies.

Feel free to comment, it will continue later on, what happened in the Senate will probally be known in Latin America, Casana is known as a hotspot for possible guerilla threats and Civil War. Please, no soldiers or military aid, at least until the Revolution actually starts.]

The chanting of the men and women rung through the concrete, but Raúl already gave up resisting, this is where he belonged. His tired, old face looked as the two soldiers walked out, their weapons at their back. He was stripped down to a prisoner's jumpsuit, and he could still feel the bruises on his stomach where the other Sentators attacked him, and the injuries made to his legs when they were detaining him. He was a prisoner of politics, not the first. But the last.

He rubbed his face in the windowless, stone brick building, he could hear outside the people, not just from his province, but from all across Casana, trying to fight for his amnesty. He knew that this was the right step, even if he himself sat imprisoned. He knew that his defiance would trip the wire, and the People would come raining down on the Nation.

He laid on the hammock supplied to him, closing his eyes, his body sore, but not seriously injured. He prayed, not to a God, but to his People.
________________________________________________________________

The man was shouting to the others, trying to push through the line of the riot control officers. They pressed into furthur and furthur into the line, towards the Vinidos prison. There were women, men, all races. Banners and flags, of red, blue, and white, traditional colors of Casana, and even banners of stylized pictures of Chavez. It had only been days after his landmark speech and he became a symbol of rebellion among the Casana people.

As the swarm of protestors pushed towards the prison, from the streets of the city behind him came vans, jeeps, and other vehicles, slowly lining up. Inside, they waited. Already they were arming their weapons. It wasn't going to last long.

The civilians took little heed of the fortificiations being made behind them. They pushed, and were pushed back, the riot officers wer agitated, and used their riot shields to push the protesters back every time they made an attempt to get through. The shouting continued.

And then, the line broke.

The masses pushed through, some of the riot officers were trampled and they pressed at the building, swarming to the barricaded entrance. Quickly the riot officers puleld out to the sides. It wasn't going to last long.

Out of the jeeps, the van, came the soldiers, swining up their rifles. They lined up, and one threw the molotov cocktail, the rag lit. As it hit into the crowd, screams pierced the smoggy afternoon sky. Half the crowd erupted into flames. Women, children, and men. THe only thing that drowned out the screams was the bullet shots. People dropped. Their bodies lay, bleeding, burning, but always dead.

It wouldn't be long until the word of the massacre spread to the other provinces, and soon, the world. Even in death, the People knew.

The Revolution had only begun.

News of the unrest in Casana featured on Iskra! news broadcasts across The Igovian Soviet Commonwealth, featuring after updates on the progress of the revolution at home but ahead of the nation's snub by the post-Bonstock conference and the following increase of military aid to Dra-pol.

Igovians hadn't traditionally considered Casana with its slavery and dictatorship significantly worse than any other capitalist state with their human-renting and false democracy. The spark of revolution suspected in the nation however set it apart and ignited Beddgelen interest. Many comrades sent words of support to revolutionaries in the nation, though it was doubtful that they would actually be heard.

The Beddgelen embassy in Cuba became the focus for calls to aid revolutionaries in Casana as comrades appealed in their Local Senates for Igovian influence to be taken there.

(Basically an over-blown tag speaking of Beddgelen interest in the affair)

OOC: I'm assuming the revolution has started based on what you said... If it's not just ignore this.

"El Presidente, Senior Borvay. We always know you know but just for the count we're reminding you... A country near México has just started a civil war. This may be the time to boost our funds and most importantly OUR funds."

The presidente Elesta Borvay smirked his cigar held between his fingers. He was on a steel couch having only 1 light infront of him only bright enough to see his vice presidente and Elestas black bare feet. He had stopped giving speeches to his people now his vice presidente did it all.

He was just the planner now, they both had an account and an island far away from here when they retired, but he had liked his position it was nice to have a country to sit on top of and scam out of billions each year while still being productive. "Cheating" in the elections to keep his place and using his power to keep his sons in power.

"Son get me some fried chicken while I think about this..." He said slowly in a rasp voice he could remember how long it had been ruling this country 150 years? All he knew was the pills he always took would keep him ruling. He couldn't trust anyone yet he wanted something big when he died a techno festival with a grand gun show then a celebration with cheap Mary Janes... One of his sons brought back a bucket of fried chicken.

"Great... I know we don't have reports on the leaders of this war but son once you find out I'm trusting you, scram so I can eat."

Elesta bit into his chicken and mumbled how he likes it more with pepper.

OOC My Country will donate 10 billion dollars to any side that will be the most helpful to a a slightly fascist total capitalist country just wanting more power land an money. So you can just add that to your post if you want. Before any country get's pissed that I donated to rebels or fascists it will be in secret.

The Empire of Risban was expanding its diplomatic and economic ties. It had been waiting for some time now to find a good way to get into the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, and saw this as the perfect opportunity.
Emperor Scorpius, having just left the Public Execution (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=376107) of the former emperor, sat in his office, watching a television screen as the Revolución de Casana began. He looked at General Lucas, who was standing with two others in the room. "Can we afford to offer them some military support?"
"Yes, highness," said the General, bowing slightly.
"Excellent," said the Emperor, smirking. "Alex, how are other countries responding thus far?"
"None have really acted yet, sir," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs. "And no one has really commented either.
"Perfect. Admiral Tarda," said Scorpius, turning his attention to the third man. "Prepare a small fleet to transport some of the General's troops."

A message was sent to Casana on a general line, intended to go to the rebels.
"Attention rebels of the nation of Casana: I am Emperor Robinson Antares Scorpius of the Empire of Risban. I am willing to donate to you some troops and supplies, as well as transport out of Casana should things go bad. I wish for the leader of the Revolution to please contact Imperial Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Perkins with details. My fleet is already preparing to sail to Casana."

OOC- My nation would support a fascist/capitalist government over a communist government or an extremely liberal democracy.

Sergei looked at Alexander. "So there's a rebellion going on?"

Alexander nodded. "Yes Sergei. We have the 2nd Fleet in Carribean waters, but we don't have any soldiers."

Sergei raised his brow. "We have that fort in Jamaica, we can send the 3rd Division we have stationed there to Casana right?"

Alexander chuckled. "And the 42nd Fleet too."

Sergei grinned. "Send the order then. Prepare to launch the Casaman Freedom Fleet."

The 2nd and 42nd Fleet in the Carribean was ordered to meet in Jamaica. After they would meet, they would turn into the Combined Rosian-Casanese Freedom Fleet. It would consist of 50 ships, and it would be the main Naval taskforce for Casanese freedom. If nobody participated of course.

Now, the thing is. The Island of Rose hasn't participated in a Revolution in over 10 years. The reason is because of inter-mixing Pacts and Alliances, something the Island had. One wrong fuse, and it could've set World War whatever number we're on by now.

The Admiral, Admiral Halsey Yul, was to lead the Fleet. Age 48, he knew something or other about Naval Tactics, and was even a risktaker compared to the other stiff Admirals. And stiff by Rosian standards. Rosians were lose, but this man was insane. Of course, all Rosians were insane in a way.

As soon as the Fleets re-organized and Admirals de-moted, they were launched towards the Casanese nation, with one order.

Help the Revolution.

Their first mission was simple. Pull of a recon of the immediate area they were approaching.

The CRS Yul and the CRS Tellen, the main Flagships of the two combined fleets, launched 10 R/F-91s, each. So that woud equal 20 R/F-91s on patrol, divided into 10 teams, each number two planes.

R/F-91s are fighter planes by the way.

They were armed with the standard compliment of one small bomb and 5 Sidewinders. But you should know that by now.

And so they took off, looking for anything to bomb, destroy, or anything involving explosions.

Oh, and to give air support to the ground forces of course. Heh heh.

To The Casanese Freedom Rebels-From The Rosian Casanese Freedom Fleet:

We are joining your fight for freedom. We need a list of targets to destroy to
aid you in your fight. For now, hold on for freedom's light is coming. Sorry, I
don't have a way with words.
-Admiral Halsey Yul of The Rosian Casanese Freedom Fleet

Meanwhile, a Presidential Class Command Ship started sailing from the Island of Rose to act as a Command Ship.

And yes, the 3rd Division was in the combined Fleet.

[OOC: The current government isn't fascist or effective, its essentially a Banana Republic that was set up by a nation that will remain anonymous until later. But the Revolution is pro-socialist, though it is not declared as such, as the revolution is basically just alot of angry workers and farmers who riot and do alot of grafitti. At least, that is how it is currently. Oh, and here is a dossier on the important revolutionaries.
There are some somewhat large pictures, the larger pictures will be in URL form, but the smaller ones will appear.]

The document was secured by the Waylend forces easily, they are a little thin on information, but were easy to aquire from the Casana government's bloated intelligence agency. They are only the identified revolutionary leaders and suspects of such.

[OOC: AH! Whoa, it took me so long to make the revolutionary dossier, that all this happened, okay, give me a minute.

Risban,

You will be responded to ICly.

GameFAQ,

There are not revolution leaders, the two revolutionary groups that will appear during the revolution and eventually overthrow the government have not been organized. Right now, there are many different factions, with different goals. THe biggest divide is between the Rural and Urban workers. There is no way to easily contact the rebels, because they are so disorganized ,giving aid at the moment won't work, you'll have to let the conflict solidify a small bit. Don't worry, give me a little while, and then you cna begin with the troops ;)

Island of Rose,

If you are mobilizing troops in response to the massacre, then by all means, do so, but try to contact the government, because of the divide in the rebel factions, there is no easy way to it. Negotiating with the corrupt government may be the best course, at least at the moment.

Ah, now...]

Risban's message was quickly shut off on the radio, and patriotic music filled the radio channel. Over the crackling stations came the voice of El Presdente.

'Citizens of Casana! Do not listen to the FOREIGN propaganda these CORRUPT and VILE nations are trying to bring down the great nation of Casana! Keep together, there is no revolution, together, we shall keep peace and order.

Viva Casana!"

The music continued, before regular broadcasting resumed.

"Umm, sir," Alexander Perkins stood in the Emperor of Risban's office. "They shut off your message to the Casana rebels."
Emperor Scorpius, who was currently going over some economic reports, glanced up at the Minister of Foreign Affairs. "Oh? Well, that wasn't very nice. Has Eric began to transport the General's men?"
"Yes, sir. The first fleet is moving," responded Perkins.
"Excellent. Patch me through to the President of Casana," ordered the emperor, putting his file away and picking up a video-phone.
"Will do, sire."

Moments later, a telephone call from the Empire of Risban made it to El Presidente's offices. "This is Alexander Perkins, Imperial High Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Empire of Risban. Emperor Scorpius wishes to speak with your president immediately."

Elesta put the files away.

Some rebels that are most defiantly gonna win they've probably got half the international community that cares on their side. Their money is totally useless, they're mostly just peasants, political freedoms nut jobs and some bastard who's gonna run the country if the old government doesn't kill him first.

This wasn't going his way at all, their land is good, and probably have minerals that he can scoop from underneath them when they're caught off guard and in crossfire.

His son of the mother land came in it was the vice presidente.

"El senior Bor- I mean Presidente for life. I assume you have a plan?" Elesta smiled.

"Of course..."

A small fleet escorting 5 cargo ships are being sent out to build a military base on Casana and move on from there, They are now looking like another force that wants to help.

"TIOR is going to fuck this up you know that right Presidente?"

"I don't think they will even notice anyone besides nice people who like to help for the good of man kind, and woman kind of course."

In 2-31/2 days the fleet should reach Casana

Also in the capitol, another secretary answered, a call from Beth Gellert. He llistened very well. He answered, in a rather polite pleasant manner.

There was silence at the end for a while.

"I do not.. There are interest in Casana. We have discovered uranium, we received, plans, documents, we were seeking nuclear, power. We will give you full rights to our uranium, as long as we get energy support and we are paid 5% of the profits. We can give you 20% share of our oil reserves. The Emperor grinned. It certainly was a good deal, especially to a developing country. "Is that so? Well, El Presidente... I don't believe you'll have anything to fear from my fleet then. Goodday."
He hung up the phone and looked at Perkins. "Order Admiral Tarda to stop the armada 25 miles from the coast of Casana."
The Minister frowned, slightly confused. "Which side are we going to take?"
"Neither at the present moment," said Emperor Scorpius. "I'll keep the fleet away from Casana and watch for a while."
Alexander Perkins nodded, understanding. "Your positioning your peices and waiting for the other side to destroy itself before moving in for checkmate."
"Precisely," concluded the Emperor.

Grand Admiral Eric Tarda of the Risban Imperial Navy sent a message to the Rosian Casanese Freedom Fleet. Tarda had just learned that they were nearing Casana too.
"This is the Risban Imperial Fleet. We will be nearing Casana soon and will be in very close proximity of your fleet. We do not want to cause any trouble with you nor receive any. We are a military fleet moving into the area on behalf of our government and do not wish to be disturbed. Thankyou.

"No word, then? Well, erm, I suppose that's a go."

Comrade Consul Prasutagus of Hooptree boarded the Mi-26 Halo along with its five crewmembers, a handful of further diplomats, and a dozen members of GSIC that constituted a large portion of Beth Gellert's intelligence and fighting ability in the region. There was also hundreds of kilos of arms and munitions, not to mention portable computers crammed with data.

High above, the People's Kosmonautical Co-operative had re-positioned an observation satellite to give at least basic data on the position of potential threats in the form of foreign warships. The massive helicopter headed for Casana at some 250kph. It was intending to slip past the likes of the Rosian fleet by giving them a wide birth and flying low when in the area, and there after to announce itself to the authorities in Casana and request permission to land. This would not be without the GSIC team members being inserted into the countryside en route, hopeful of measuring revolutionary sentiment and contacting opposition movements.

José came down from the boat, the board from the barge to the doghe could tell was slightly rotted, and it bent as hewalked acrossed it. He picked up his pace with his bag over his shoulder and walked across the dock, already sick of the smell from the sea. The gulls hung around the new one, they seemed to trace his steps, hoping for food.

He chewed on the end of his cigar , cheap, Venezualan. It wasn't lit, but he didn't have a lighter, but hte lack of tabacco he had on the boat was catching up to him. Restlessly, he looked around the dock, wondering where he brother was going to meet him. He signed and dropped his travelling bag on a bench and sat down, pulling his head back and taking a deep breath. He looked around once again. There was no sign of his brother.

Minutes became hours as José waited for his brother to come. After the second hour, he became more than restless, but worried, edgy, and tired. He pulled out the note from his pocket that he got, and looked upon the page. He was working at a factory, an arms factory, owned by some foreign nation he knew nothing about. He pulled up his travel bag, and started to weave his way through the crowds of people in the marketplace.

Three days ago...

The steam created by the machines didn't help the atmosphere at all. Pedro could feel the sweat, the moisture trickling down his neck, his forehead, as he breathed quickly, but in short intervals. His heart pounded, he could feel its rhythym shaking his entire body,. He looked to the weapon he had in his hands, he felt its power before, and he rubbed the trigger, his eyes widening as his breath skipped a bit, and he lowered the barrel to the guard, only a few meters away, in the light, while Pedro sat in the dark, like a rat.

He pulled the trigger, he didn't hear the bullets, or the other gunshots that rang out immediately after that by the others, just the pounding of his heart as the guard fell, his back bloodied with the redning of his flesh by the mechanical beast he used in his arms. Pedro was terrified of guns. Now, he needed them.

He heard the other shouts and moved, quickly, the guards must have already been taken care of. He climbed the ladder up to the maintanence shaft and made his way down, coming down into the loading area, the warehouse. THe weapons here were easy to get, they made them, but never did they use them.

Already the soldiers were coming into the factory to eliminate the rioters and the guerillas. Pedro sat in the shaft, clutching his gun. He heard gunshots, shouts, and last words. Shrieks of agony. He was a coward, he knew this,m but he did not want to die. He did not want to die.

But even here, he was not safe.

The explosion was the first thing heard, it deafened all other sound, and even after that, there was silence. Even Pedro, on the other side of the building, could feel the warmth the bomb gave off on the other side of th building. Who set off a bomb? WHo..

The building came rocking, shaking, and falling. There were more shouts, people scrambling for their lives. Pedro was frozen, but he tried to crawl through the shaft, towards the Loading Bay, escape. But in vaine as the warehouse's girders had melting in the explosion, coming down and providing no escape

So he leaned back. The factory around him came down. He could not get out. He could hardly breath. There was one thing he could do.

He could wait, and die.

Pedor looked to the beast in his hand, still warm from his spray at theguardy. He didn't breathe as he looked down the barrel, before he ever pulled that trigger, his heart stopped. After that, there was nothing.

As José left the town, he could think of nothing to say, nothing to comfort himself. He found anger, sorrow, and grief, but thats not what he needed now. He looked out the window the truck he bought, at the countryside passing by, the forests, the distant coast. The sky was almost blindingly blue. He didn't know what to do. He knew he was lied to, by the government. They said an accident, bullshit. He knew, they did it, the factory must have striked, they did it, it was no accident.

He convinced himself quite easily. He wanted to believe it. He didn't know where to go. He drove noth, he kneew of only one person here. His cousin, he didn't know how far removed, his cousin lived here.

He never knew of the revolution. It had been only a week after it began with Chavez that he got here. Half of that week was spent getting here, by boat. He had to take a round trip around the archipegalo to get to the southern provinces. He doesn't even watch the news. He wsihed he had known now.

He wondered why that the government hadn't barricaded, or took any precautiouns against the rebellion. They went so far to deny that it was even happening, that it was no threat to Casana.

He tried not to think of that now, he was looking for his cousin now. Javier.

Javier Almeida Dávila.

Pele Kawau, that is, Major Pele Kawau, wasn't sure waht he was doing. He was a low ranking officer, a native, a native, that was an accomplishment, though he lied. He said he was African, if only to get away from Casana, away from the dead bodies. And back to his sister.

Rosa, she sat behind him, her eyes rather intense, but he seemed to falter before the lined up men, his unshaven face clouded with doubt. He remembered the words that the man he met so few days ago, the man whom 's nname he could not fathom, told him. He realized, what he was going to do.

"Soldiers, all of you. You have been called to report here, but not for drills. Not for lectures. No, intend to free you. All of you.

The revolution spreads, across Casana, across our control of the Yucatan, even in parts of Eastern Cuba. You all see what is happening. The government will deny it. But you can see it, can't you? You see the images of Chavez on the walls of the street. You see the factories shutting down. You see the plantation uprisings. You see your family disappear, into the countryside, or into prisons they go. You never see them again.

You, the soldiers, see yourselfs suppresing them. You do so, you will die if you do not. Yet you kill them yourself. That is why, we must stand. That is why, I am freeing you.

We will make our own army, we will fight for our own nation, in the name of God, Chavez, or whatever you wish to put your faith on. We will prevail. The Yucatan is ours. It is time to fight, all of you.

Now is the time. I have freed you. If you wish to leave, if you wish to go home, and observe, and not fight for your principles, then you are a man we do not need, only men of principle shall be had. You are dismissed, if you chose this cowardly path, though we will not hinder you."

There was silence as Kawau hesitated. No man moved, no man left. It had been done.

"Then, let us fight!"
_________________________________________________________________

El Presidente looked over the map, already the Yucatan province fell to rebels. Now they had a head. Now, it could be the time to strike. But, now there was nothing to strike with. They had expended their resources, defending against the Rosian fleet. Defending against riots. Countryside rebellions. Now that the snake had heads, not just one, but two, there was nothing. Even his own military was rebelling against him.

He must find the heads, and it must cut the snake in two. In his eyes, the People's Army of the northern rural countryside, and the Yucatan Liberation Front, his defecting military, they must fall./ If they do not, then it will end. His life will end.

The Revolution will have been done.

"So you're saying to land now?" Admiral Halsey Yul.

"Yes Admiral, we can send the entire Division now. The countryside is in control of the rebels." Division General Gary Powers.

"Yes General." Vice Admiral Barry Johnsan. "Two factions. Two factions that we have to deal with. That means if we play this wrong, there could be civil war."

"That's why we need to play them both off." Vice Admiral John Tower. "Get them in joint exercises againt the corrupt Government. We already hold the Naval power in this fight. All we need to do is establish a beach-head."

"Beachheads, Mr. Towers." replied Halsey. "Casana controls the Yucatan and Eastern Cuba. That's why I ask Gary to split his Division into two American styled Divisions."

Gary hissed. "I am in control of my Division, I will not give control to my Brigadeer Commanders."

Johnsan chuckled. "You don't have a choice in the matter. We cannot be flanked. Now, we can send air strikes against all coastal defenses and Government buildings. After that, any way of them flanking us is nil."

Halsey chuckled. "Wonderful. We'll talk about the invasion in detail later. For now, Towers, Johnsan, order your bombers to strike. The rest of you leave. You, Mr. Powers. I need to talk with you."

The various Commanders left, leaving Halsey Yul and Gary Powers alone.

"Mr. Powers. Do you think you can send a small force of 10 to each side of the nation?" asked Halsey.

Gary smirked. "Of course. I assume you want them for scouting purposes?"

Mr. Yul nodded. "Yes. I might as well start making friends now."

Gary chuckled. "All right then. But I'm still not giving command to my Brigadeers."

Halsey rolled his eyes. "But of course."

That was the conversation inside the President Class Command Ship, yes it finally arrived.

20 R/B-91s were loaded up with bombs. 5 of them to be precise. 5 one-thousand pound bombs. Their mission was simple, bomb the hell out of anything with the Casamese flag on it. To be more eleqouent, to bomb Government buildings. Of course this would be easy, Intelligence shows that Casana has no AA Emplacements.

The group split in two, one group heading towards the Yucatan, the other towards Eastern Cuba. Yes they were split in 2, so that equals 10 in each group. Now they would bomb the shit out of stuff. Yes, I couldn't find a better word.

Meanwhile, the Rosktai, the Special Forces attached to each Division, were alerted. There 20 of them attached to the Division, and that's the amount that were to be sent.

They were loaded on to ROH-1s, Blackhawks. The Blackhawks flew low and stayed wide, not wanting to be detected of course.

After a few hours, they finally arrived at the Casanese coasts, but they had to go past the supposedly resistance first.

Isn’t there really anything else we can do for Casana? Martok askes, looking at the more stoic members of the council. The same discussion that was heard earlier today rises up. Neelix listens intently, ready to fill in blanks in the members knowledge of the world and it’s affairs. He also listens for any tasks he might receive, but expects none to come. The Nomadic People of Sandtrail simply do not have enough resources yet to be of any help in this conflict. After two hours, the council decides that they have done all they can, and although they abhor slavery, they cannot free people who don’t free themselves first. For now the council has done enough, and after the removal of the current leader of Casana, they will open contacts with the new government. Neelix bows before the Elders, acknowledging his tasks in this, and leaves the halls. Another tiresome day he thinks. [OOC: The Yucatan and Eastern Cuba are part of Casana, but not the entirety. Casana is mainly an island chain that begins in the Yucatan Gulf between the Penisula and Mexico, and ends somewhat north of the Yucatan. The Yucatan is where the native Casanese tribes are from, before they migrated to the Casana islands during the Spanish conquest. Casana was a French colony at the time, so they French traded with them. After the Spanish conquered Mexico and Cuba, they looked towards the little French colony and invaded, conquering Casanese. In about 1956, a nationalist revolution deposed the Spanish viceroys and gained independence. In the Casanese islands, the militaristic regime inspired smaller revolutions in the Yucatan and Eastern Cuba, spawning smaller independent states. Eventually, they combined into one larger state, Casana. The Monroe Doctrine and America's fierce protection of it protected the militarist, totlitarian government. However, a nation that must remained unamed until another RP, used its influence to set up a Banana Republic, and proceed to cut up the resources located there and give them to foreign investors, including itself. This is why there is a socialist revolution inm the Casana islands and now the Yucatan. Currently, in Cuba, activity is low, but since Eastern Cuba has semi-autonomy (Casana is set up similar to pre-Milosevic Yugoslavia) it is not really affected by the rebellion. Its provincial government is actually secretly aiding the rebels, but staying as neutral as possible.

And thank you for the compliment, I would say we are about equal, to be perfectly honest. I am just putting alot of effort ijnto this RP because this is a way to put my nation on the map, so to speak.]

From the sky came the fire the Rosian fleet had provided. The buildings, already old and decrepit, save a few capitol buildings, seemed to distingrate in the explosions rather than fall. As they came across the government buildings, they skipped a few targets. They had to. In three strategic locations, there was a complication.

- The domed Senate
- El Presidente's Mansion
- Vinidos (Capital City) Federal Prison

In the Senate, the federal military was using the large, domed structure to keep its POWs, almost like the way slaves were taken to the New World. They were packed, and not fed. THe POWs were sometimes rebels, most often people taken from the street to make sure the rebellion was suffocated by the misery it was indirecly causing. To release the POWs from the Senate would take either a urban warfare assaul (however, doing this would undoubtfully cause mass execvutions as the military is alerted of the tanks rolling down the streets.) The hostages must not be killed, if possible. Another option would be the disarming of the C4 system that is ready to blow in the complex and then the elimination of the enemy force keeping the POWs hostage, and bringing to hostages to safety.

El Presidente's Mansion has a very old bunker under it that a mere airstrike would not penetrate. However, beyond this, recon on no AA defenses were false, at least on the mansion. It can be either gatehred that new deployments were made after the Rosian fleet's appearence or they were already here, and they didn't want to destroy the recon planes, giving them a false sense of security. Thus, when the bombers came, most of them were mowed down by the AA artillery or the STINGER mssiles fired. A land assault may be the only choice, but it is gathered that a large contingent of the Federal military is here.

At the Vinidos Federal Prison, there are key players in the rebellion that should be kept alive if possible. Chavez being the most prominent leader of the rebellion, he is being kept at this maximum security prison complex. Many of the captured rebels are being held in here, usually the leaders. IT would work against the Revolution to cause their deaths. An option would be possibly a Roskai operation to break out key prisoners and secure the complex, perhaps as a base of operations for both the Yucatan Liberation Front, People's Army, and the Rosian forces.
_________________________________________________________________

[OOC: I am going to skip the long character narration for a little bit, to bring us a little focus on what the Revolution is actually doing, so its easier to understand what progress is being made.]

The People's Army, a rural insurgency group, numbers about 23,000, mostly plantation workers and farmers. They are lowly equiped but excel in guerilla warfare, especially because of the tactics introduced by their leaders Javier Almeida Dávila, a former plantation worker, and José Alejandro Lani, a former Mexican soldier.

The People's Army, working out of the southern Casanese islands, have secured the southernmost province of Federal control. They have been fighting the longest, and have disrupted Federal agricultural centers and frozen food supplies to Federal troops. With widespread support of the millions among civilians, they work invisibly as guerillas, the civilians acting somewhat like logistics as they make their way across the countryside. Feared and respected by the men of the Federal military, the soldiers they fight against often desert, or even defect after attempting to fight them and surviving.

The People's Army has not made an attempt to contact foreign influences, and remain somewhat arrogant on their attempt to "do it alone." They seem rather indignant of foreign support, even if it turns the tides of war.

The Yucatan Liberation Front operates mainly in the Yucatan province. They number about 14,000, made up of heavily trained, well-equipped troops that have defected from the Federal regime. They also recruit into their ranks urban workers, especially in the Yucatan, where they have secured all power. They are lead by Maj. Pele Kawau, a former officer in the Federal military that defected after being contacted by the revolutionary, Hyun Kwung-soon. He is a powerful, charismatic leader, a Casanese native, but he lied about his ethinicity to become part of the military (the Federal government does not allow the native population to become part of the Federal military.)

Other than securing the Yucatan province, the YLF is making a strong attempt to expand influence in the heavily industrail and federal controlled northern Casanese islands. They have made several unsuccessful and bloody attempts to release native and rebel prisoners at the labor camps situated in the northern islands and also to release Chavez from imprisonment.

They are more cooperative with the foreigners, and have organized many of the joint attacks on the government places. In the three operations specified above, they may become an immense help.

"What?!" Admiral Halsey Yul.

"Yes sir." Vice Admiral Barry Johnsan. "We lost around 7 bombers."

General Gary Powers. "Mr. Yul, Rosian Intelligence shows that leaders of the Revolution are being held in the Senate and their main Federal Prison."

Vice Admiral John Towers raised his brow. "And?"

Gary continued. "And that means that if we attack both buildings, we can surely screw the Government over."

Halsey rolled his eyes. "Yes, the Senate building that is covered in C4." Gary looked at Halsey shocked. "Yes, I read the reports."

"If I can intervene." replied Barry. "Don't we have a Rosktai contigent near the Senatorial building? Why not use them? We can use a night attack and disable the C4."

Halsey smirked. "Right. Gary, you said you had a plan to free the prison?"

Gary chuckled. "Yes. We can send an entire company, parachute them on the roof and pull of a Panama."

Halsey yawned. "Greaaaaaaaat." He cleared his throat. "I assume that both operations will be at night and simoutanious?"

All the leaders nodded, except Gary. "We can't. One operation at a time. We'll have more soldiers when we free the prison."

"Blast, you are dismissed. We'll talk about the next operation later."

The leaders all left the room, to come in the next day and have another conversation.

Night came.

Vinidos Federal Prison

It was a night, a warm night. But dark. It was a usual night on the prison really, I suppose. Guards... guarding. Prisoners... prisoning. Is that even a word? I guess not, but it adds to the story. That and I don't really know what prisoners actually do. But I'm just rambling... rambling, that's a nice word. Yeah.

Anyway, back to the story. The Carriers were abuzz with activity yet again. 10 RCCP-1s (C-2s), 20 Ospreys, and 5 ROH-1s (Blackhawks) They were the main strikeforce to, put it bluntly, strike the prison.

Of course, tension was high.

After a few hours, they arrived, fast.

The Ospreys landed outside the prison, their ramps fell. Over 500 Soldiers, 8 Humvees, and 2 T-90s rushed towards the prison. The Humvees started firing on the guards, the soldiers yelled with bloodlust. Blood, something a Rosian had sparingly. But delicious when eaten, especially with a light salt and pepper mixture and some lemons.

The T-90s started firing upon the walls. Their 120mm smoothbore cannons causing bright flashs in the dark night. Their machineguns like stars in the countryside.

Bright.

But the true stars were the ROH-1s outside the main prison. They started firing on the hapless guards, providing cover for the diversion slash invasion force.

Diversion? So where was the main force? And why did I write down slash?

The RCCP-1s flew over the prison, 10 of them if we remember. 10 soldiers from each plane parachuted on the prison's roof. So 10x10=100. I hope so anyway.

They bust through the roof's doors and started working the prison so to speak. Each room they sweeped all of the guards. Even those that were sleeping. No mercy was given.

None.

The prison was empty, free.

((OOC: Key of advice. Never say the other person's losses unless you have permission. And since I wanna free the jail first, I want permission to shoot your guys. [OOC: Ack, sorry! And you post is perfectly fine with me, you officially have permission.]

As the Rosians swept in, they met little opposition. The prisoners were all in their cells, the prison was for political prisoners, it had a remarkably low occupancy. As the Rosians secured the grounds, those outside the prison (which was set somewhat out of the city) realized that they didn't come in unnoticed. Smalls squads of federal troops were coming in from the surronding vegetation, and the low rumble of a helicopter came out, though the forces assaulting hte Rosians were small. However, they kept striking and retreating, hopefully harassing the Rosians and bringing them from their posts.

Inside the prison, the conditions were rancid. There was poor lighting, however, the guards put up a big fight. In particular, a shoot out in the prison yard was particularly bloody on both sides [OOC: We can both rp this out...]
_________________________________________________________________

The guards set up their posts around the yard, fiding their caches and their dugouts, the prisonyard was a killing field for the troops trying to get into the cellblock, as soldiers coming through had to go through a thin, chain link and barbed wire encloser and corridor down the middle of the prisonyard. It was only a matter of time before the Rosians come through. That is why their weapons were waiting.

Immediately, the powerful metal doors of hte front of the prison yard were broken down by the Rosian squad, and the lights came on, sirens alarmed, the whole prison was in a flurry. Spotlights centered on the Rosians, trapped in the enclosure. Almost immediately, hidden guards opened fire on them, the bullets screening through their ranks. They had two options. Make a dash for the end of the enclosure, or retreat and find another way.
_________________________________________________________________

The Rosian command center was abuzz with communication, however, a crackling voice come over on the channels, and a message from an incoming force was received.

"Attention Rosian Casanese Freedom forces!

This is Maj. Pele Kawau, of the Yucatan Liberation Front. I am leading a contingent of my soldiers to pick up and receive important political prisoners to our cause. Make sure that they do not come to harm. Our forces will escort them across the Yucatan Strait to our base of operations in the Yucatan, where we have secured power. Requesting permission to carry out operation. Over."

The Emperor leaned back in his seat. "Very good. Begin to deploy the troops," he ordered. "Have them aid the rebels."
The General faltered slightly, a frown making itself apparent on his face. "But sir, their president offered us much in payment if w-"
"We would hold more influence over the country if we helped the rebels," interjected Alexander Perkins, the Risbanian Imperial High Minister of Foreign Affairs. James Ormiv, the Press Secretary, spoke from his position against a wall. "And, most of the international community is helping the rebels. No doubt public opinion of us would boost."
General Lucas narrowed his eyes, glaring slightly at the Press Secretary and the Foreign Affairs Minister. "Several years after the French helped fight against the British in the American Revolution, the people of France rebelled against their king and executed their entire aristocracy!"
Emperor Scorpius, having grown bored of watching his men bicker amongst themselves, spoke. "General, the people just put us in power, the economy is good, and we have a military on our side. I doubt helping the Casana rebels would really make our people rebel against us," he said. He turned to the Press Secretary. "James, announce that Risban shall be helping out the revolutionaries."

The Admiral nodded. "Very well. Send a coded message to the Yucatan province; I want to contact the Yucatan Liberation Front," ordered Admiral Tarda. Intelligence had revealed to them that the YLF was the most organized. Plus, they were nearest to them.

Several minutes later a coded message was sent to the YLF

Inside the Prison

"Holy shit! Fire!"

That was basically the order given inside the prison. Rosian Intelligence was unspecific with the number of resistance inside. All it said was "resistance expected". Well, now we know how much there was. The 100 man strike force would have a little bit of trouble.

A 4 man fireteam especially had a little bit of trouble themselves.

The team was hiding behind a corner. Around the corner was a long hall of jail cells. On the other side were Casanese soldiers firing on them. The leader leaned out of the corner, a bullet nearly struck him. "Shit!" He leaned back in. "Harrison!" Their grenadier. "Fire your 40mm!"

Harrison, their grenadier got out of the corner, almost jumping out. He pressed the trigger, the grenade cruised towards the other end, exploding. But the damage, well. That's up to Casana to decide since I'm not him and that would be godmodding.

Harrison jumped back behind the corner, not knowing the damage he might've caused.

Prison Yard

"Get down!"

This was the basic order in this case. The attack had caught the Rosians by surprise. But this time, they were expecting this. The T-90s inside started blasting at the positions from where the fire was coming from. But it didn't work. The Rosians limped back, losing 50 men. Luckily, the armor was safe but it wasn't over yet.

"This is Captain Frederick von Ribentropp." This was the man leading the assualt, age 29. "The yard hass more opposition then we thought. Do you think that some ROHs can sweep in and shoot at them?"

Response. "Positive. I'm going in."

An ROH-1 that was around the prison doing perimeter patrol flew over to the prison yard. "Hey Casanese!" said the pilot. "Eat Rosian lead!" The gunner started firing all the searchlights, guards, and anything that could shoot at them inside the prison yard. He did this 7 times, circling the yard menacely. I think that's how it spelled. After he was done he went back to perimeter patrol.

And talking about perimeter, the small strikes were getting annoying, but no Rosian losses... yet.

CRS Controlame, Presidential Class Command Ship

Gary smirked. "This will aid us greatly." He picked up the radio and replied to the Major.

"This is General Gary Powers to Major Pele, you have permission. Be careful, we're having a firefight there. Out."

Message from the Quitos Protectors Military:
We apologize for the tardiness of our message, but finding a secure frequency to contact the rebels of Casana was very difficult. The military of Quitos is willing to unconditionally provide support. We hope that this will establish good relations when this war is brought to an end.

I hope the Casana civil war can be brought to an end swiftly, and to assist, we are sending over 20,000 of our land troops. There are 40 landing crafts approaching the Casana coast and we only request a secure location to deploy our soldiers. That is four infantry battalions and one headquaters company. They are accompanied by one armor battalion consisting of Quiton Main Tanks. They will be shipped with enough supplies to last them a month and we will also be sending a mobile hospital over soon when we have determined it to be safe to do so.

Prison Shootout

The smoke was great, but structural damage was minimul. This was a rather sturdy building. When the smoke cleared, the guards were lying, most of them maimed, injured. However, some of the prisoners were released, one stepped out, a bit dazed and a little bruised from the impact of the grenade, he looked to the sky and fell to his knees, overwhelmed. As the Rosians came down, the political prisoners were very cooperative, even though it took a Spanish translator. Most of the prisoners were not really rebels, but natives, natives abducted from their villages and placed in the prison. This was used to suppress the persecuted native populations, which postponed the Revolution.

They didn't know it would come knocking on their door so soon.

They were evacuated, and soon all of Cellblock A was freed. Cellblock B, was where their specific target, Fmr. Sen Lage Chavez, was incarcerated. From what their readings could tell, there was heavy resistence to be found down here. A kick in the door approach may not be the best choice.

Prison Yard

The small pockets of federal guards were quickly shot down or retreaded, most came into the Cellblock C, which was beyond the next target, Cellblock B. When the Rosian troops found a storage closet, a blueprint map of the complex showed that there is a entrance into Cellblock B that is strategically placed so that it is the best way to slip in unnoticed and infiltrate the complex. If the Rosians can break down the fenced enclosure and send in some Roskai, it would be a simple job to eradicate the federal presence.

Command Ship

There was confirmation on the other side. Quickly, the smal lcontigent of the YLF, armed with transport helicopters, deployed to the Vinidos complex. It took two hours for the contingent to arrive.

Quickly the helicopters swooped into the prison yard, opening its bay for the newly released Cell Block A prisoners. It quickly took off again, heading towards the YLF's secured location nearby, at a native village. They requested representatives of the military to come meet at the secluded village, it may be easier to coordinate if they got to meet face to face.

[OOC: Your Roskai oppurtunity, TIOR.]

YLF guerillas arrived at the complex to hopefully quell some of the federal pressure on the Rosian force. They attacked the harassing federal forces from the trees, the bushes, in a massive ambush, from the Rosian perspective, all that could be seen is an invisible firefight from the forest, flashes and gunshots breaking the serenity of the night. It was utter chaos.

Southern Casana

In a makeshift village-basecamp for the People's Army, amessage was received, from a nation named Quitos. Javier, waiting here for his comrade, decided to let them come. He sent his coordinates for the military to come in. He sent his own message, asking for negotiations to be made and coordinating the Quitos troops to help the People's Army.

The Yucatan Liberation Village

The Rosktai force of 10 has been surviving the jungle for a few days now. Nothing difficult, just shooting down a few Feds here and there. They were armed with the RAR-1Cs, a purely Rosian gun, RSMG-7s (capable of holding 65 rounds thanks to its cylandrical magazine), and of course, a Colt .45. But those were their small arms. I could go on about their gadgets, but that's a waste of time.

"iEspera!" Captain Sergio "Capitan" Chavez. "Stop. A village!"

The small squad kneeled down. They couldn't know if it was friendly or not. They started... ducking towards the village, guns pointed. They were already to the point that one more step and they would be seen. To determine the friendliness of the village, he did what any other Spec Op Captain would do, shout at them. "iHoye! iYo soy de la Isla de la Rosa, de que facion tu eres!" This shout came from the bushes.

Inside the Prison

"Blast!" said Captain John Archer to his 40 man platoon. "Garner, put some explosives on the door!" Garner, one of the heavy explosives expert in the platoon, put some explosives on the door, timed ones. The platoon stepped away from the door, watching it explode. "Flash and bang!" Captain John threw a flashbang inside. A large flash, then a harmless boom. Okay fine, that part happened at the same time.

The Rosians bust in, fully armed and started shooting at the confused Federal Soldiers

Prison Yard

Actually, nothing happened. The Rosians had an alternative plan in mind.

The grey sky started to light up with a crust of pink as the sun started to rise over the ocean. It illuminated the deep blue waters of the Carribean to show forty grey boats cruise steadily towards the coast. Their decks were scurrying with activity as soldiers lined up to approach the beach. If the coordinates were wrong, they could be landing into enemy territory without any cruiser or battleship support.

Plus they had to get the four tank landing crafts right up to the beach or it would be impossible to launch them. The grimness of the situation took hold of the soldiers as they realized their responsibility. They would help fight for this nation though, as it was a strong core philosophy of the Quitons that freedom was for all.

Over the loud speakers came the voice of General Harbord Neilson, "Attention, landing commences in three minutes. Know that the nation of Quitos and Casana holds you up as heros already. Do not fail the cause and do not die until you have proved the right. To myself, the bravery of this division will win the war by itself. Let not this bravery fall before your body. For freedom and the nation of Quitos."

The loud speaker cut out and all that was left was silence of the soldiers and the calming sound of water outside the ship's bulkhead. Weapons specialists completed checking the weapons before retreating into the command decks of the crafts. A black flag with a white stripe on it went up. Landing was commencing.

The lead ship pulled up to the coast. A deep rumbling occured as the pressure from the shallow waters lifted the ship. The entire craft shook violently as it collided with the shore. The power from the engines shifted from the props to the tracks beneath the craft. The great doors of the landing craft opened and the dawn's sun shone from behind them. The Quiton 5th Infantry Battalion marched out onto the beach.
