OOC: You couldn't fit a planet destroying Superlaser on a 40km Death Star. Just one that would kill the planet, as in making it unihhabitable. Still a good weapon to have, but more realstic given the size of yor DS.

The Galactic Empire demands the instant and unconditional scrapping of this Death Star. If you fail to comply our completed Death Star with its fully operational super laser will remove it for you. You have 1 hour to agree to these terms.

Perhaps if you were to join the Galactic Empire the emperor could be more sure of your intensions.

The Rebels, beating the Empire to the punch, has begun the assault on the Death Star. Appearing below the Death Star, they began to pound away at it and the fleet defending it. Massive turbolasers lanced out at anything that's not identified as 'Friendly', as dozens of starfighters flew out to meet the enemy.

every deathstar must come with a fundamental structural weakness, either a force field based on a weakly defended moon habitated by imbecilical teddy bears, with a penchant for beating up giant robots with lasers using bamboo sticks, or an overly inquisitive tractor beam operator who can pick out a fleck of dust in a asteriod field, yet can't detect a bunch of organics on a 10 by 10 ship, or the fact that 100 odd heavily armed infantry can't hit a barn door and the death star is taken out by a single missile fired by a 12 year old boy using the power of zen and a senile old git with a penchant for chasing australian actresses at the moulon Roughe

The Death Star thunders out of hyperspace, on top of the Rebel fleet. Admiral Tarkin looks down at the prey with authentic distaste. “Order all turbo laser batteries to charge and open fire on my as soon as possible.” Tarkin demanded. Almost four seconds after the Death Star emerged from Hyperspace the turbo laser batteries opened fire. Once again spying the Rebel Sovereign Tarkin gave the order for the superlaser to open fire. It would take forty seconds to charge however the enemy capital ship would receive a blow of all blows.

"Hey-WHAT!" I yelled, blasting away at enemies. "Oh crap. TWO Death Stars? Ok...we're screwed. We're screwed so bad."

The Rebellion suddenly began to fire gravitc missiles at the second Death Star, aiming for the shields. It also started moving, getting out of the arc of the superlaser.

Now let's see...we could take the construction project or the completed one. I had to make that decision quick...

Tarkin smiled. The Rebels were just making it too easy for him. It was exactly like the second time the Rebels destroyed one of the original Death Star models. A v.1, he mused. V.2 is so much better that it is beyond scope. This time around the Rebels were stupider, uglier, and still had not realized that they were directly in the path of a energy laser onslaught which could wipe out a continent. Fools. Soon, the Emperor would be giving Tarkin great honors for taking care of the Rebels, and it had been all too easy.
Tarkin turned toward his gunnery captain. He nodded, and said,"Fire!"

A Star Destroyer interposed itself in between the Rebellion and the giant green ray of death and blew up when the superlaser hit it.

"Poor Captain Matthews. He died to save us." The Admiral said sadly. Then he noticed the enemy fleet enter. "Finally, worthy enemies come in. Execute plan B!"

"Yes sir!"

In a flash of light, a smaller superlaser split the sky as the Soveriegn appeared with it's own fleet. The superlaser aimed at the Soviet fleet.

Well, that blows hardcore, Tarkin thought. I mean, what are the odds that the only missing Star Destroyer in the past 5 years should pop out of hyperspace right in front of my laser? With it needing at least an hour to charge again, too!
"I want max power to those lasers, see if we can't carry the day still. If it doesn't work a second time, I'm going to try a needle attack."
"Sir?"
"A needle attack, stupid. When hundreds of TIEs pinpoint the weak areas of a fleet, and allow pocket nukes to penetrate? Didn't you go to tactics school?"
"Oh right, forgot about that. Shall I execute the order?"
"Who assigned you? Everyone on my ship knows that I want an order executed immediately. Trooper! I think we have a spy here!"
The gunnery officer, who had been newly appointed to his job, lunged for Tarkin. Stunner fire from Tarkin and 3 different troopers dropped him, twitching, at Tarkin's feet. As he was dragged away, Tarkin walked to the viewport.
"Someone order the powering of the lasers and the needle attack setup, as quickly as possible. I also want the Emperor informed of possible Rebel spies in his Fleet."
The communications officer nodded, and sent most of the message off. Unfortunately for Tarkin, the Emperor would only know after the fact that quite a few of the Star Destroyers in the Fleet had Rebel officers in key positions, especially at communications control.

Half of the Sovereign fleet took the battle to the remaining Soviet forces, and began to make assaults on their Death Star.

The other half joined the Rebellion in pounding on Tarkin's prized ship.

The Sovereign added it's own firepower to the battle while the superlaser recharged.

With all the lovely fireworks display, I hoped that a hole would open so I can go down there and blow it to kingdom come.

"Rebel swine! Look behind you, fool! There are 2 Death Stars! That was an outmoded v.1 Death Star. Of course it was destroyed easily. The v.2 Stars are much harder to kill, and contain more power. And one of them is still behind your fleet, acting as a wall to corner and destroy you!" Tarkov screamed into the vidscreen. The communications officer, who had recieved the hijacked line from the Rebel fleet, looked on as Tarkov signed off. Tarkov turned toward the new gunnery officer.
"Report on the condition of the lasers!" he demanded.
"Sir, the lasers are ready and able to fire a lvl. 7 intra-space laser beam, which will pick out and destroy all ships in and out of hyperspace within the desired location. The parameters have been set to exclude the Soviet fleet and the v.2 Death Star, sir, just as you ordered."
"And the TIEs on standby?"
The head TIE officer reported. "We are ready for deployment at any time, sir. All docks open and waiting for command."
Tarkin smiled. Excellent, let's see the Rebels get out of this one. He then turned to the comm officer.
"Officer, I want you to give the go-ahead for the TIEs. I want them in space and on the way for mop up as soon as the laser is fired."
As the comm officer gave the order, Tarkin turned back to the gunnery officer, who had patiently been waiting.

The Soveriegn and Rebellion's shields held against the laser blasts, while the fighters had to dodge the laser. Many ships died to the blast, a sixth of the fleet.

I grunted as thousands of people died, feeling their deaths through the Force. "Rogues, report!"

Rogues 10, 11 and 12 were killed by the lasers. I gritted my teeth, trying to release my anger into the Force. Can't mourn now. Got a battle to finish. I sent orders to the remaining fleet. "Forget the Soviets! We can't let the Death Star do this again! Concentrate all firepower upon it!"

Still firing upon other enemies, the majority of the fleet survivors began to concentrate firepower upon the biggest, baddest enemy, trading turbolasers with the Death Star.

The Sovereign's bow glowed as a superlaser blast, fully powered, aimed at the Death Star. The Rebellion and Chimaera unleashed an Alpha Strike near the same spot where the superlaser would hit, firing all weapons at that spot. Hopefully, we would be able to break the shielding...

"I want those TIEs deployed now. Comm officer, I want a patch through to the Star telling them to concentrate shields in Q4.S7.SS4. That is the area where Rebel forces appear to be striking."
Tarkin finished his orders, and moved back to the center of the bridge.
Below him, the TIE docks were silent. Most Rebels do not understand how this works. In Rebel hangers, pilots and droids are hanging around outside of their ships, gossiping and trying to keep up morale. TIE ships are ready in under 10 minutes, and keep up morale by knowing that they are the elite of the Emperor's space force.
One TIE pilot was nervous, though. Col. Patrick Yezzer, a young pilot, was flying out on only his second military mission in a TIE. And this mission was to be carried out using a non-standard tactical formation. I can handle this, he thought. It's seek and destroy. Those are always the easiest, I think. Pat wasn't so sure anymore. He was just glad that it wasn't his job to deliver the payload into one of the control rooms of the Rebel ships.
"Orders are in. Move out."
Pat was jerked back to reality by the orders from his commander. Along with his counterparts, he activated the auto-eject command for the dock. Hundreds of TIE fighters glittered across the spacescape, homing in on the larger Rebel ships.
Pat had one last spasm of nervousness, then stuck to formation.

The entire fleet began to surround the Death Star, pouring colorful displays of death all over the Death Star, trying to overwhelm the shields and the return fire when reports of TIE fighters pouring out came in.

"All right, Rogues. We got some eyeballs to kill!" I said. "Lock and load, check your six, and Fire At Will!"

I locked on and blazed away with my red laser cannons, looping, rolling and banking to destroy the all-too-familiar enemies and keep from getting destroyed in turn. Lancer-class antistarfighter cruisers, Corellian corvettes and gunships added their firepower to our fighters, blazing away with heavier laser cannons and missiles.

Point-defense cannons of the larger ships spoke their displeasure at the swarming enemies, swatting them out of the sky with the patented flyswatters that are even more laser cannons and light turbolasers, as well as missiles and torpedoes.

"Sovereign, come in please. This is Major Tselekis, in position. I'm going to try and scramble the TIE signals. That way, they won't be able to see the plan." Tselekis signed out of the Republic's channel.
Even he could plainly see that the Empire was making some glaring mistakes. Well, not really. They weren't making many mistakes, even for people whose main communication hub was compromised. Tarkin should have had the pirate signal from the Republic earlier traced. Lucky for Tselekis, Tarkin expected his comm officers to do this as a matter of course. So no one was the wiser. Except for the Republic, of course.
Tselekis couldn't wait to see how this would play out.

"Yezzer, I need back up here!" Suddenly, static. Where the hell where the rest of the TIEs in the formation?, Pat thought. The Rebels are responding correctly to the needle formation, even though it hasn't been tested in this arena before! Pat pivoted left, and saw the remains of his formation. They had all been taken out by a well-placed beam from the Rebel ship The Sovereign. He was just able to pick out the command ship. He jetted towards it, without a second to spare. A guided torpedo whipped past the place his TIE had just been. Pat hurried ahead, and latched onto the remains of the command ship. He instructed the ship's computer/droid to pick through it for the pocket nuke, as it had not detonated. Within a minute, Col. Patrick Yezzer was the head of his formation, directly on path to the Sovereign's control room.
I hope I'm doing this right, he thought.

I sensed a disturbance in the Force, and spotted a fighter at the head of a spear formation, heading towards the Sovereign, probably the bridge bridge.

"Oh, no you don't!" I said, and banked and dove after the fighter, spitting red lasers at him.
Malpirgi
24-11-2004, 04:05
The TIEs sensors were picking up several fighters around him, but only one was aimed directly at Pat. Suspiciously, he queried the computer/droid. Then, before he could get a reading back, one of his hunches struck. Without conscious thought, Yezzer rolled and pulled back. The ship's computer informed him that he was being attacked directly after a deadly spray of laser fire passed throught his earlier position.
That has to stop happening, Pat thought.
Spinning, Pat came face to face with a Rebel ship targeting him. He increased drive towards the Sovereign, as his initial attacker and others flew in pursuit.
"Majesty, come in! Is there anyone on the Majesty who can recieve this?"
Pat knew that no one would answer his pleas. More and more, this looked like a suicide mission. He wondered how the needle was faring on the other ships.

"Very, very badly. I believe they may start direct engagement between their Star Destroyers and the Republic's."
"Shit."
"Excuse me officer, may I enquire as to who you are contacting without authority and spilling military secrets too?"
Tselekis looked up, to see Tarkin standing to the side of him, looking down grimly. Two troopers stood with guns aimed at his head.
"I was informing the lower levels of future plans, sir."
"Right." Tarkin nodded, and turned.
The troopers shot Tselekis through the head, and dragged the body out of the bridge.
"I really need secure levels of command." Tarkin mused. "Another comm officer here! Let's see if we can't salvage this godawful mess."

This guy's good. I acknowledged. I could sense the Force working in him. In an alternate world, he would be a Jedi. But here, I had to destroy him before he attacked the Sovereign and caused damage, especially to the bridge. I called upon the Force, and stayed on his tail as he tried to get away from me. He was good enough that I kept missing with the lasers, but now, I had a clear lock on him. "I have you now!"

I could just spot another Destroyer going down in flames as a portion of the needle formation pierced it like a bubble. Of course, the rest of the starfighter squadrons tried to thread the needle, pincering it between gunships and fighters, as well as the deadly arcs of the capships.

I wondered how the fleet was doing in taking down the shields...

Many throughout the galaxy considered the Death Star the most formiddible weapon of war ever built.

Others knew better.

---------------------

"Commodore, new orders from naval inteligence; the "Great Sith Basketball" has been located, and is presently engaging Coredian rebel forces," the communications officer using the sith Death Star's slang name, "We are to displace at once and render assistance."

The grey furred figure at the bridge's heart considered the situation for a moment, befor armoured claws played across the intercomm controls.

"All hands to battle stations."

-----------------------

Minutes later, a warping of chance heralds the arrival of the Kanuckistani Thunderhead-class Superfortress KHGV Inferiority Complex - three kilometers of planet-rending fury simply apearing a full million kilometers off the Sith Death Star, weapons and barrier feilds fully charged, her inversion feild interposing itself between the 'fort and 'star; a 90 degree arc of reality bend back upon itself - a mirror in space and time.

A second passes, befor FTL inhibitors stretch outward toward a radius of three light seconds - stopping a hundred thousand kilometers short of the Death Star, so that the Rebels might retreat if they so desired.

Heavy cannons ramping up to full supercharge, her intermediate battery cut loose into the Sith war machine - 600 anti-cruiser partical beam cannons lancing kinetic death; the remaining 150 unable to fire, lacking line of sight.

And only then did the hail come;
"This is Commodore Axen Stone of the Kanuckistani High Gaurd Vessel Inferiority Complex to Sith fleet; that was a warning shot. Surrender or burn."

"Fine, that should be all the time we need. Comm, have you recalled the TIEs?" Tarkin asked.
"Yes, sir. 154 of the original 540 TIEs deployed have been notified. The rest are either not in communication range or missing and presumed dead."

Col. Patrick Yezzer contemplated his orders as he dodged between ruined ships, and then complied. The ships behind him were definitely transmitting a feeling of acrimony, and any order to flee was fine by him.
Dodging behind a ruined TIE bomber, Pat did a 90 degree turn and blasted straight towards the approaching fighters just as they converged on his position. One followed, while others set up a defensive perimeter around the Sovereign. Pat could see explosions all over the Death Star as fled back towards the protection of the Majesty.

"This is Commodore Axen Stone of the Kanuckistani High Gaurd Vessel Inferiority Complex to Sith fleet; that was a warning shot. Surrender or burn."
The voice blasted through the bridge of the Star.
"Trace that message! What are the damage readings?"
"Sir, after the unknown source hit us our capacity dropped to 45%! One more hit like that and the v.2 will be destroyed."
Why do these things always happen to me, Tarkin thought. Snarling, he issued another order.
"It is too late to quit Operation Noose. Continue full on! I want all power focused on the Rebels first; we can deal with this unknown later. Tell the Star Destroyers that if the Star should be destroyed, retreat into hyperspace and regroup at Empire headquarters at Coruscant."
With this order, both Star and Destroyer focused lasers in the center of the Rebel Forces. The lasers were aimed to intersect, causing a huge explosion in the center of the starships.
"Alright. Get confirmation from Majesty. Set to fire in one minute."

More Rebel ships came in, fresh and ready for battle, and immediately started pounding on the Sith fleet.

"All fighters! Shields are broken in several places! Make your runs. Rogues, begin the Trench Run when you are able!" Came the orders.

I broke off the dogfight with the Force-sensitive and looped high into a split manuver, placing the Death Star in my crosshairs. I checked my fuel. Good. Still enough for some dogfights, the Run and the escape.

"Ok, Rocky, I need the shields double-fronted and boosted as much as you can. Got it?" I ordered. My droid at the back of my starfighter compiled and whistled as he worked.

I kicked the afterburners, accelerating towards the Death Star as the fleet continued to pound it. I dodged the fire coming after me and started to go through the holes in the shields. I winced as the X-wing shook, telling me that I had to be careful. Several fighters were destroyed, but the majority went through, and evened the shields back out. Now the dogfights occured inside the Death Star shields. Our first targets before the Run: the turbolaser towers.

"2 Flight, take care of those fighters. 3 Flight, go after the towers. Kartion, Bryan, on my wing!" I ordered, and began weaving and jinxing as I spat laser bolts at the turrets and kept the turrets from shooting at me in return.

Meanwhile, a daring squadron of B-wings and E-wings began to make runs on the superlaser, to put it out of comission.

"Sir, after the unknown source hit us our capacity dropped to 45%! One more hit like that and the v.2 will be destroyed."

OOC:
Ya know I was just firing the intermediate battery at you, right? The heavies were still over-charging.

IC:
Axen's eyes watched his tactical repeater, a slight grin crossing his lupine muzzle; was that the scent of sith blood, writ upon his console?

"Expand FTLi to ten light minutes and focus fire upon their super laser; let's neuter the beast. ETA to supercharge?"

A series of ayes filled the air befor the reply from a tactical sub-station came; "Capasitors will max out in four-twenty seconds, sir."

'We'll have to recover some of the debris', the Commodore's thoughts mused, 'Find a peice that would look good in my office.'

-----------------------

And so it was that Kanuckistani FTLi expanded further, propigating at half the speed of light towards it's 180 MSK setting, even as some 600 weapons blisters rotated a fraction of a degree; their spawned fury ripping through space at speeds nearly that of light, aimed to evicerate the mighty Death Star's signiture armament.

There would be no running, now, and death was closing in upon the Sith. Did they know? Could they feel time running out? The wolven Commodore was sure the battered battlestation could not survive the wrath of 20 super-charged heavy cannons - power combined that rivaled it's own super laser.

"Alright! Execute Operation Noose!"
Two communication beams bounced off each other in the center of the exhausted Rebel fleet. The reinforcements were a little off center, and some daring fighters were braving the Star's surface, but it would have to do. As the beams made their way back to their sources, the massed lasers from the remaining Star Destroyers poured towards the junction. The superlaser of the Death Star also fired, razing any ship on its journey towards the center of rebellion. As the lasers met, a gigantic explosion went off in the side of the Star.
"Report!"
"Lasers meeting! Vacuum in Q1 and in most of Q2!"
Talk stopped as Operation Noose went into effect. An expanding sphere of destruction was nestled in the remains of the Rebel forces.

"Evasive action!" Captains and admirals were shouting to their crew to get away from the sphere of destruction. The Super Star Destroyer and Sovereign Battleship were getting heavily damaged, but still held on. Now the orginal fleet was down to half, bolstered only by the reinforcements.

Meanwhile, I spattered down the turbolaser turrets, satisfied that enough have been destroyed to go down the Trench. I flew high above the surface of the Death Star to check on the Trench and groaned. There was a 120 degree turn near the end of the Run, something tough for even a great pilot like me to handle. I would only get one or two shots at the Trench. Well, there's nothing to do but to do it...

"Operation Noose successful. Re-engage?"
"Hell no, idiot. Can't you tell that our outer perimeters have been penetrated, our fleet is in disarray, and our reinforcements are nonexistent? And now an unknown spaceship of extreme strength has destroyed a whole portion of the Star with a minor attack! There is nothing to do but retreat!" Tarkin screamed.
"Sir?"
"Is the hyperspace wormhole we came through still operational?"
"It has a fluctuation of 20-96, sir. Right now it is almost big enough for a Death Star. Superdreadnoughts down to shuttles should be able to pass through no problem."
"Why the hell haven't reinforcements arrived then...? No matter. We will pass through the jump to Coruscant and reinforcing Imperial fleets when the jumphole is big enough. How much time?"
"4 minutes 45 seconds, sir."
Tarkin paced across the floor, his thoughts awhirl over this turn of events. Looks like I'll be suffering the displeasure of the Emperor, he thought painfully.
--------------------------------
"Col. Yezzer, report to Gunner Turret #367, for jump."
Pat ran down the hallway of the Majesty. Unable to get to the Death Star, he'd had to settle on the Super Star Destroyer Majesty as his berth until he could be reissued orders. It looked like retreat was the prospect.

OOC: I "hijacked" this Death Star from Unified Sith. Not really; he just never came back and so I took over his position. The premise of this is that the Soviet guy was making a Death Star. An old skool Death Star, from the original blueprints. Sith was the only one with a Star before, and he brought his v.2 Death Star into the RP. The v.1 DS was destroyed. This isn't the 2nd Death Star, but the 2nd kind of Death Star. The thread is kind of in confusing geek speak most of the time. Sort of annoying, in a superficial way.

I dove into the Trench at an angle, and 'rocked' my fighter into the center. My senses were at high alert as I weaved, bobbed and ducked around and between obstacles and laser fire. My shields were double-fronted again so I had to rely on my wingmen to protect me from behind. I brought up the proton torpedo program, but not the targeting computer. I won't need it. I feel like I'm reliving history, which I probably am. I smiled as I went through the long trench. If we get out of this, we're going to show the death of the Death Star to every corner of the galaxy.

Axen growled audibly as he watched rebellion fighters have their go at the the Death Star; he wouldn't be able to kill the thing now without killing allies.

"New firing priority; allocate five heavies to the basketball, but hold fire until the rebels are clear - they can have the first shot at 'er. Remaining batteries are to evicerate her escort - two heavies for everything bigger than a Star Destroyer, remainder at your discression."

A series of 'aye's once again followed, befor..

"And start lobbing missiles at that wormhole; mix some anti-capital formation warheads in there, too - that's their only way out, and a choke point; fill that with fire."

----------

With that, heavy blisters came alive; twin spears of planet-rending fire spearing towards the Majesty, other pairs seeking out any other super capital ships - the remainder of the 15 heavies allocated for anti-ship work each targeting a Star Destroyer, while the Superfortress' intermediate batteries tore into everything else.

Thickly wrought armoured panels slid back, then, revealing some hundred fourty-four missile tubes, and no sooner than they ceased motion did fire erupt from the cee-fractional launchers within; a full volly spit forth every five seconds, nearly half composed of ECM/EW generators, decoy launchers, and anti-fighter sub-munitions - anti-capital laser-heads and conversion bombs making up the difference, a single massivly powerful anti-capital conversion bomb seeded amoungst the swarm of ECM and real ordinance.

The missiles sped forth, crossing the void in seconds; conversion bombs and ACF warhead detonating amidst the wormhole's enterance, while the remainder of split off with half the decoys as they neared, targeting nearby Sith vessels.

"We are screwed."
The bridge let the Admiral Tarkin sigh.
"Sir?"
"Alright, men, the Empire has let us down and these Kanuckstanis have cut us off from escape. We are close to destruction. Only a miracle could save us now. It looks like going down while taking as many with us as we can is our only option. For the Emperor and the Empire!"
"For the Empire!" the chorus rang out.
"I want all recalled TIEs redeployed for maximum damage, including all Interceptor class TIEs. I want a Noose on the Kanuckstanis, and if that fails, on the Rebels. Hmmmm. Contact the Soviet Fleet for backup on Operation Noose; also ask for more TIEs. I want a screen on the surface of the Star. If we have been penetrated then it's too late, but if we haven't then we won't be destroyed from within. I want this to already have happened! Get too it!"
The officers in the bridge turned to their tasks, busily carrying out their orders. Tarkin left the bridge, headed for his cabin. There was at least one chance left against the Rebels; everyone knew that their heirarchy was too rigid. If someone could take out their head, then the rest would follow. Maybe he could set up a duel with the Rebel Admiral, and take out the menace with his dying breath.

*Sigh*

I knew it; knew this battle felt too easy to be legit.

Just because someone logged off, doesn't mean the RP would 'falter'; hell, in most threads I've participated in, you'd only post once or twice a day, on average - threads that could continue for months if the needed to.

He probally went to bed or something, planning on continuing things the next day.

What you did, in taking control of his forces, was a major no-no; only he's allowed to control his assets, decide what damage he takes - that's the basis of free-form roleplay, what makes it workible.

Hence, everything that's happened sense he's left doesn't count; hell, it can't count, unless US comes in, shrugs his shoulders, and goes, "Eh, sure."

...

That's not very likly, by the way; I've seen it happen, but all things considered, Sith doesn't strike me as one who would accept what you did to his toys.

I went through the Trench, dodging things like crazy, when I came to the 120 degree mark. I immediately slowed down and hit the repulsarlifts and yawwed to the left as hard as I could. The repulsarlifts let me use the walls as a floor, as I turned hard and barely managed it. I bore down the last leg, reaching out with the Force, and holding my thumb above the trigger. Suddenly...my wingmate Bryan blew up.

"Wha--Bryan!"

A TIE was behind me! Kartion headed out of the trench, to try and get at him, but he got bogged down by several other TIEs.

I tried to shake the TIE, but this one was really, really good. Almost as good as...no, it can't be!

"Augh!" I cried, when a sudden laser cannon hit me in the back. The fighter blew up around me, and intense heat seared me to ashes...then darkness.

Then, the words GAME OVER appeared in front.

Returning to reality, I tore off the VR helmet and got out of the simulator, sweaty and running my fingers through my hair.

"Ok! Who had the bright idea to put Darth Vader in the simulator?!" I asked, irritated that I have lost in this scenario (pulled from the data we have on the Death Star) 3 TIMES ALREADY (overlooking the fact that I won it twice)!! "And at the highest setting, too!!"

Kartion got out of the other simulator, as did the rest of the Rogues. All of them seemed to be snickering, and a large sweatdrop ran down the back of my head. "Ok, can someone fill me in on the joke?"

"Well, little dude, you did say that you wanted it as realistic as possible..." Kartion guffawed.

"That look when you thought Vader had come in! Priceless!" Bryan laughed.

I groaned. "Yeah, I wanted it as realistic as possible, but Vader appearing like that?"

Kartion calmed down. "It's entirely possible that he would do something like that, you know. Last time we did it, he came in when we started the Run. We need to do this so we can be prepared, because he can and will come in at any time to ruin our day."

I couldn't argue with the logic. Still, it burned that I lost again. I sighed, heading to the showers, beginning to contemplate what should we do should he come in like that.

Actually, the number is often quoted as over a million.

The station carried a crew of 265,675, plus 52,276 gunners, 607,360 troops, 25,984 stormtroopers, 42,782 ship support staff, and 167,216 pilots and support crew.
