MNT attack patrol boat

ooc: You may remember the MNT introducing themselves in a recent thread. If you don't, read it.

IC: The patrol boat cruised along the surface of the Emerald River, one of the many rivers criss-crossing the rainforests of Southern Taldaan. The captain stood at the wheel, not really paying much attention to the radar. His mission was supposedly to stop any gun trafficers coming up river, but this hadn't happened since the mid 80's, so the "important patrol missions" were more like pleasure cruises to Captain Jenkins, a Saturday afternoon of napping in the hot sun, admiring the beautiful unspoilt Taldaani scenery.

His crew were sitting around towards the rear of the boat, smoking marijuana in a rules breach which, after fifteen years in the River Patrol Group, Jenkins had learned to ignore. The only noises were the muffled growl of the hydrogen engine, the hum of the radar, the lapping of the waves around the sides of the boat, and occasional noises of wildlife from the rainforest around them.

The boat drifted around a bend in the river, disturbing one of the ocelots which came down to drink sometimes. It snarled, before vanishing into the trees. A flock of parrots flew up, squawking in alarm, fleeing from the large cat. Jenkins chuckled to himself: he had always liked parrots, ever since he was a little boy, growing up in one of the Southern Taldaan jungle villages.

Meanwhile, on the bank of the river, concealed in some bushes, was someone who wasn't quite so satisfied with life in Taldaan. Oliver "Kiko" Sherman had joined the MNT three weeks ago. He had read the material they had sent him, talked to a few members in private chat rooms, and he had recently recieved his first orders. This mission, of destroying a patrol boat, had no real strategic impact. It was just to show the government that the organisation meant business. The others grouped around him, clutching sub-machineguns and pistols. If Kiko couldn't sink the boat, they would assault directly. The boat was getting closer by the second, and would soon be within striking distance.

There! It was within range! Kiko swung the gun around, and taking a deep breath, screamed
"Long live the MNT!"
The cry echoed for a second, but then was drowned out as the gun roared into life, raking the hull of the patrol boat with heavy calibre bullets. The Taldaani patrol boats had not been modernised for many years, and were completely incapable of taking this kind of punishment. Holes were ripped in the side, bullets punching through the hull of the boat and into the systemes beyond.

Captain Jenkins yelled in horror as the shots smashed into his boat. Jerked from their reverie, the crew responded remarkably quickly. Kim-Sun jumped to man the 20mm machine gun, strafing the shoreline, hoping to hit the unseen attackers. Procj tried to move across the deck, but was hit by AK47 fire from the trees. Jenkins reached under his chair for his assault rifle. Finding it, he put it up to his shoulder and fired. Then there was a crash, and darkness.

The wreckage of the boat was everywhere. The crew were all dead. So was one of the terrorists, hit by Kim-Sun's wild shooting. Kiko had nailed the hydrogen tank dead-on, detonating the fuel. The boat hadn't stood a chance. The explosion had gutted it. Realising that the Taldaani would soon notice, the terrorists melted back into the jungle, but not before spray-painting the wreckage.

MNT for ever. Death to the red scum.

ooc: This is available for everyone to find out, as Taldaani Command will have found out, informed the government, and it will be all over the news

This morning, it was ordered that the Emerald River and it's tributaries will be patrolled by Pufferfish Assault Boats, to flush out the MNT attackers. Government sources say that around fifty will be deployed to the region, although rumours say it could be up to one hundred.

"So, they're deploying some real hardware against me now, are they? Well, we'll see about that."

ooc: Basically, a cheap excuse for something to happen in here. I need RPers. Nine, to be precise. Five NWM members, and four Pufferfish crew. The NWM will be led by Kiko, and I will lead the Taldaani forces (although I do not count towards RPers.)
