As we all remember, the Island destroyed its small but powerful nuclear arsenal. Now, this was done for a number of reasons. Economic reasons mainly. But where was the money from the nuclear program heading towards? Simple, Operation Dr. No.

Operation Dr. No was was in design since the 1990s. This means it was in the works way before Sergei was ever elected. And of course Sergei was informed of this project. Lucky for the War Ministry, he didn't cancel it. But it did lag a little bit. When Sergei approved of building nuclear weaponry, he had to divert funds.

But of course, this didn't mean the end of the project. On the contrary, it just meant it would take longer to do. And it was built. Built in space.

Now the reason it was built in space was because it would be easier to start up the satellite when it was finished. Plus, anything built in space is cool. But now I'm rambling. Either way, today it would be tested.

The sattelite worked on a basic principle of Science. If light is focused into one area, it will turn into a powerful beam. You know, when you burnt ants with your magnifying glass? Well, this is 5000 times more powerful. The core of the system was a giant diamond found in New Rosian mines. It would be the magnifying glass of the system. The light? The sun of course.

But what if it wasn't right over the sun? The giant mirror would reflect the light towards the diamond and the beam would form?

But how powerful was this beam? It wasn't strong compared to any of today's nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons. But it is as strong as the old atomic bomb, a futuristic Hiroshima if you will. Aka, it can wipe out a city.

And it would be tested today.

The satellite was positioned over Rosian waters. All boats in the area were cleared, an executive order from Sergei. It positioned itself so that the sun could hit the diamond. The rays from the sun were focused into the diamond, surely but slowly. The cover preventing the beam from escaping was lifted. The beam headed towards Earth.

BOOM!

A huge explosion occured. The water flew up into the air, it looked like a surge wall. You know, when a Hurricane occurs? After a few minutes the water calmed and all was silent. As if nothing ever happened.

When Sergei was asked if he wanted to announce it, he said. "Let the world find out that we are not weak at all."

Anything in space is fun to shoot down. Armed satilights, just with conventional missiles mind you, are wonderful at putting down "lasers" and orbital nukes. So just don't point it at us and we won't have to turn it into a pretty *pfhh* in the sky.

Exactly what this is, a satilight! Ha! Haha! *cough* sorry...

Intresting concept, though a little extravagant wouldn't you say? Besides, having a huge diamond floating in orbit is something of a temptation for the many jewlers of the world. But, as they say, diamonds are forever...

OOC: Sattelites are not positioned in one area, and they don't just stay there...they follow an orbit around a planet or another form of matter that has enough gravity to allow it to have that orbit..if it's in the middle of Space the sattelite is just going to go in whatever direction it was launched in, no matter what, and get pulled in by some other large amount of gravity... so, the system wouldn't work if the sattelite is behind the earth, when the opposite side is facing the sun.

It is in our best interests if we do not cross each others "lines", so-to-speak, as we both would indeed obliterate our said Nations with massive environmental disastors. I believe it would be wise if we come to equal ground and declare each other allies, or neutral. Either way is fine, for we need not another war or skirmish

Believe me, we would never declare war on your nation. I say we become neutral, and possibly work into becoming allies. Do not worry, as Alexander said, we will never use this nation. Only as a last resort. If it interests you, the Island has never done an offensive action. So again, do not be worried. Besides, you could crush us if you wanted to.

OOC: You're really just trading one weapon for another, its still M.A.D., I'll stick with air-burst neutron bombs and conventional fusion bombs. That and this space weapon is inherently vulnerable to attacks, quite unlike missile in bunkers or the like.
