The Imperial Senate had passed a bill overwhelming and now it sat on the Imperator's desk, on the last day of the month awaiting veto and approval. He paced back and force and starred out of the massive windows to the front lawn of the Imperial Palace, and to the flag of Nycton waving in the wind, the pole placed perfectly center infront of a fountain.
The bill was to cut the military personel by more than 1/4. The massive military of 20 million men, including active and reserves downsized to 14 million. There was no virtual use for them - many superior technologies. The downsizing would mean millions of more funds to make current soldiers more effective with much better training. The average soldier was highly respected and honored, and because of it was payed very well. $50,000 USD a year was the lowest salary. Almost 320 billion more dollars for more training and supplies, while 45 billion would be diverted from military to education. He reached for his pen and signed his name and then took the Imperator's seal ring on his finger, put it on the ink pad and stamped it on to the right of his name. The bill was signed.
