PRESIDENT SEYCHELLES ON TRIAL
By Sharon Francïva

Today in New Orleans, our beloved President, Madame Savannah T. Seychelles, had her pre-trial pleading guilty to declaring war on a nation without approval from the Ministry (legislative branch of the Nationale Assembly). When the Ministry got word of President Seychelles’ plans to declare war on the nation of Scoyle and its alliances they were furious. “Villiapange is a peaceful nation and we do not associate our selves with war! Even the sound of it makes me cringe!” said Vice President, Monsieur Angeles J. Azureaqaria, Head of the Ministry. For the duration of her trial, Vice President Azureaqaria will be serving as Provisional President. One outcome of this trial maybe, President Seychelles is impeached and removed from office eminently, Vice President Azureaqaria will become President, and the Ministry will elect a new Vice President, which favors to be Senator Enrique Cástéllètânnà. During the trial, President Seychelles screamed, “When Scoyle ruthlessly invaded the Southeast, they did not take into consideration of the citizens that had lived peacefully in these areas without war!” This may show that President Seychelles ran on pure emotion when declaring war on Scoyle instead of taking into consideration that our country is at a time of desperate need.

The National Court of Justice is a huge historic building originally serving as the capitol of Villiapange during French control. The main courtroom, the Pièce de Cour de Lever de Soleil, is decorated with gold leaf accents, a huge crystal chandelier hangs in the center of the room, and portraits of famous Villiapangians hang on the walls. This is not a typical courtroom:
~~Judge’s Bench= Judge’s Throne; under a half canopy, originally Napoleon’s throne
~~Testimony Bench=Person making testimony must stand under the chandelier facing the Judge’s Throne
~~Defendant and Plaintiff Tables=the Defendant and Plaintiff sit facing the Judge’s Throne
~~Bailiff=the Royal Police preside over the trial
~~Jury Bench=Jury sits on the opposites of the Defendant and Plaintiffs
~~Court Clerk and Court Reporter=sit in the corners of the room
~~Audience=sit in balconies over looking the trial

All members of the trial enter the room as the Royal Police officers announce their names.

[JB] Today, we are here to determine the punishment of President Madame Savannah T. Seychelles. She has pleaded guilty to treating to declare war on a nation without the Ministries approval. To examine her is the Head of the Ministry, Vice President Monsieur Angeles J. Azureaqaria, who is serving as Provisional President for the duration of President Seychelles’ trial. Madame Seychelles you may plead your case of why you should not be punished for this act.

[DS] I was elected as your President on May 17th, 2000 and since then I have reformed the school system by adding extra funding and hiring better-trained teachers, I have lowered taxes significantly, I have strengthened the economy by creating thousands of jobs, and I have given the people of Villiapange a new sense of nationalism by celebrating our Bohemian beliefs! When Scoyle ruthlessly invaded the Southeast, they did not take into consideration of the citizens that had lived peacefully in these areas without war! When Scoyle invaded Florida I was about to board a plane to return to Louisiana where I was serving as Lieutenant Governor. I looked back and saw my family waving me off and my husband holding our new baby girl. I boarded the plane and found my seat, as the plane lifted off I heard a booming sound…I looked out the window and saw the entire city of Miami in flames…the airport was completely destroyed and so was my family. (Pause) That was the day the sovereign nation of Florida and the rest of the Southeast was invaded by Scoyle. This is piece of our history we leave out of the textbooks! Why did they invade these nations!?! To flex their military muscle, to show the world they are a powerful nation, to take advantage of the beautiful sensory!?!

[PA] Did you take into consideration of the people of Villiapange instead of your personal feelings?

[DS] Yes I did, I thought of every person who lost his or her brother or sister, mother or father, or child. Angeles…

[JB] You will refer to the people in the courtroom by their formal names only!

[DS] …yes your honor… Provisional President Azureaqaria, you lost your mother in Atlanta didn’t you?

[PA] Yes I did…what relevance does this have?

[DS] How did she die?

[JB] Order…

[PA] I will answer the question your honor…she passed when Atlanta was bombed.

[DS] What did she do to deserve to die?

[PA] I don’t know…but that is not an issue to discuss here!

[DS] Then what is!?!

[PA] Why did you threaten to invade Scoyle! What in the hell was Villiapange going to use to protect itself? As you said Scoyle ruthlessly invaded the Southeast what in world was Villiapange going to do to them?

[DS] Why did I build up our Bohemian beliefs?

[PA] You wanted to create a new sense of nationalism…

[DS] Yes…it worked for Hitler in Germany why not Seychelles in Villiapange?

[PA] Because this is not a totalitarianistic nation and you have to receive permission from our legislature the Ministry!

[JB] That is why you are here today!

[DS] I perfectly understand that your honor…

[PA] What were you planning to use to protect Villiapange and to invade Scoyle?

[DS] Not military might like you would but, scientific intelligence.

[PA] Nuclear bombs and biological warfare!

[DS] Beyond…

[PA] What is beyond the most destructive force in the world!?!

[DS] How soon we forget? The Neutron Bomb.

[JB] What do you mean by ‘How soon we forget?’

[DS] Tell him Provisional President…

[PA] The Neutron Bomb was a nuclear bomb that would produce great numbers of neutrons but little blast and thus destroy life but spare property.

[DS] AKA kill the people and leave the houses standing our Provisional President and the Ministry approved its development on April 19th, 2001.

[PA] However, my first act as Provisional President was to dismantle the project!

[DS] Which was a month ago.

[JB] Nevertheless, he did stop the project!

[PA] Yes because we violated UN laws!

[DS] Which one!?!

[PA] Resolution number 75: The Nuclear Terrorism Act!

[DS] That says nations must monitor the selling, buying, and creating of nuclear weapons, it dose not say nations may not use or develop them!

[JB] Do you think Villiapange could have invaded Scoyle successfully using these Neutron Bombs?

[DS] We will never know…but I do know this…I am guilty in every aspect of what I am being accused of. Because I am the true embodiment of what this country believes in!

[PA] And what would that be?

[DS] The sprit of facing a challenge and winning!

[PA] But how many people would you have to kill to achieve victory!?!

[DS] None… Monsieur Angeles Azureaqaria, we won the election with 75 percent of the vote. Because I believed in the same things the majority of the nation did!

[PA] What are you saying? If I hadn’t run with you I wouldn’t be here today!?!

[DS] No! That you are trying to appease Scoyle to save your ass because you don’t know how to run a nation such as this!

[PA] What kind of nation is this!?!

[DS] One where the people are disenchanted with the world and want to change it for the better!

[PA] (Pause)

[JB] Is that the end of your examination Provisional President?

[PA] …yes…

[JB] The jury will have a day to decide if President Seychelles will remain in office. As stated in our Constitution if she is removed, Provisional President will be removed as well then there will be a recall election the candidates will be the reigning Prime Ministers: Madame Celestra Salaza, Monsieur Francois Toussaint-Louverture, Monsieur Baron de Montesquieu, and Madame Avonna Silverfire and if one is elected their Vice Prime Ministers will become Prime Minister.

(ONE DAY LATER)

[JB] Will the speaker of Jury please come forward and state your name.

[SS] Jennifer Saloozatheron

[JB] What is the Jury’s decision?

[SS] The Jury has decided TO ALLOW PRESIDENT SEYCHELLES TO REMAIN IN OFFICE!

The Audience erupts in joy favoring Seychelles.

[PA] What the hell, she lied to our nation!

[SS] Hah…overall…she believed in our nation!

THE NATION IS AT PEACE
By Sharon Francïva

Today, President Madame Savannah T. Seychelles has been restored to power with Madame Celestra S. Salaza as her Vice President after Monsieur Angeles J. Azureaqaria resigned yesterday after the President’s trial. President Seychelles said these words when she left the National Court of Justice this evening, “I would like to extend my deepest and most sincere apology to the nation of Scoyle and their President, Scott L.C. (A.S.S.A-Ret.), Villiapange will never aging threaten another nation in the world under my administration.” Vice President Salaza said this during her celebration party “I am honored to lead a nation with such a profound person as Madame Seychelles and I will do all that I can to fill Monsieur Azureaqaria’s shoes.” Angeles J. Azureaqaria declined for comment. Finally we can sleep at night knowing we have someone in control of our nation.
