Protest Shredded by Gunfire

The Parthians
20-11-2004, 09:34
A line of Leftist activists marched down the center road of the fenced in ghetto, where the urban poor were separated from everyone else by a concrete wall, a minefield, and hundreds of other obstacles. Gates existed in the wall to allow the poor to cross the wall temnporarily for work, and at the North Gate, guards stood worried at the size of the protest moving up to the wall. Military units on top had M-60s and SAWs at the ready to shred the protestors to bits if any attempt on the wall was made. Signs with messages such as "Death to Shah Khosru" sparked the attention of the police officers, to ask for such a thing was high treason, and now, most of the people were carrying such signs. A volley of tear gas was fired into the crowds, but they continued to advance as several protestors fired on police with illegally purchased weapons (people living in the ghettos cannot purchase weapons, but everyone else can have pretty much whatever they want). A military policeman was struck by a round from an AK-47 and died, causing the men in charge to change strategies.

Fire broke out of the defensive towers, raking the crowd with fire from infantry machineguns and tower mounted miniguns, tore apart wave after wave of protestors. By the end of the day, 6,500 were dead and 10,000 were captured.

The Council condemns this cruel and illegal action. Special forces armed with FN F2000 carbines with XM303 non-lethal modules have been dispatched to the area aboard MAS L1 Gunships and aircraft carriers as peacekeepers. If any more violence is detected, they will immediately intervene on the behalf of the poor.

-The Mapalgetian Revolutionary Council

OOC: MAS L1 Gunships are armored dirigibles with aircraft hangers and troop compartments. If in combat, they will drop troops into the necessary areas and then launch their full complement of fighters, while supporting themselves with their armament of three 30mm chainguns and 8 rocket/missile launchers.

OOC: They wont get to drop their troops if a SA-2 surface to air, or a more advances surface to air missile rips that chopper apart.

Message to The Revolutionary Council of Mapalgetia

Mapalgetia would be wise to not meddle in the affairs of others. If Parthia is attacked, Zarbia will not hesitate to assist their ally by any means necessary.

Such intervention would certainly not be an attack, but a defense.

In the meantime, Mapalgetian medics have requested permission to enter the ghetto where the protest took place in order to give aid to the wounded.

We will permit medics to enter, but, we detest your attempt to violate our soverignty by sending in peacekeepers. There is no war going on, we simply crushed a violent protest which bordered on rebellion. Is it not legal to crush a rebellion?

Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

"We wonder why, exactly, such excessive force was needed to break up a band of whacked/drugged-out protestors. Tyrandis would also like to ask why every week or so, an incident like this occurs in Parthia."

Because the only way to discourage dissent and rebellion is to crush it with unrelenting force. And, for your second question, this occurs every week or so because we respond in such a manner to strikes and protests. Usually, they are so minor that a quick attack by riot police using batons and then a few executions solves, but for these, we need to shred them to pieces and execute the rest by breaking on the wheel.

To: Shah Khosru
From: President J.L.

I applaud the selfless courage and ardent patriotism of your men in uniform, as well as your strong, sagacious, and efficient leadership, to which can be attributed your resounding success in preventing the cancer of Leftism from metastasizing (sp?) to the rest of Parthia. On behalf of all of RB, I hereby bestow upon you my most heartfelt and unwavering praise. May our alliance remain strong and our friendship everlasting.

(OOC: I'm just curious, but are you of Iranian descent IRL?)

Should you intervene in Parthia's sovereign affairs, which do not threaten global peace or stability or concern you, we will mobilize our forces behind the Shahdom to erase you from the face of this planet. Good day.
