TIMIOCATO (PPA) -- It's already been almost three weeks since the General Elections in Pacitalia. Still, that's not stopping Liberale Party and Opposition Leader Aracio Partiva from defiantly requesting either a recount or a redo of the election.
The Prime Minister agreed, saying he had full confidence in the election officials and confidence that he had been elected fairly with a clear majority. PM Timothy Ell of the Capitalist Party was re-elected to a third term on 3 November.
He took 67 of the 120 electoral votes in the elections, six more than needed to become PM. Partiva finished a distant second with 27. The other two parties, the communist NRP and uber-conservative Party d'Italiano, captured the remaining 26.
Prime Minister Ell captured 56.2% of the PV in the election, and led strongly in his home region, the Central Region, a major reason why he was re-elected. The CR holds 24 EVs and is always a good prize to win in Pacitalian elections.
The privately-run Elections Commission of Pacitalia says it can be ready to hold the election tomorrow, and also states it fairly counted the votes last time.
"We are sure that the work we did during the night of November 3rd was fair, unbiased, and that the votes tallied truly represented what the people wanted," says ECP president Gisella Pedest'amore.
